kMSt ver. 1.2.501 – Flame Wizard & Night Walker Update!

Flame Wizard and Night Walker

It’s finally here, the Cygnus Returns update for the Flame Wizard and Night Walker! I can’t believe they added both in one patch haha. There were some other smaller changes which I’ll also talk about.

Dual Basis' Traces

Along with potential and additional potential, Item Traces will now also carry over the item’s additional options and Soul Weapon. Additional stats given to an item past 16 stars have been changed to be based on both the item level and number of successful stars. The success rate of enhancing has been adjusted.

Bosses

You can now face Balrog, Hilla, Van Leon, Arkarium, Horntail, and Pink Bean without having to create an expedition, a party will work in the same way. I believe the expedition still exists though, so this is just for convenience.

Hero and Nova Classes

For jobs like Angelic Burster and Kaiser who have voices added to skills, you can now adjust the volume separately and turn them on or off!

    • Anonymous
      April 11, 2014 at 3:49 am

      Meaningless passives?
Let’s see here, a 1100% damage boost at max with 5 Marks which also heal 2k hp every 5 seconds (3500 with Hyper skill boost) and 5 bat assists that do damage and also heals you alongside the ability to attack while flash stepping/backstepping with a thief’s high evade skill *which now also reduces damage) it is anything but meaningless. x3 Shadow Partner and a revive skill means it is geared for bossing.

      • hahaha
        April 17, 2014 at 5:49 pm

        its actually x2 for shadow partner , 60%+40%+20% =120%

        an usual S.partner is 60%

        • Anonymous
          April 18, 2014 at 12:09 pm

But the point is that it procs the bats and the marks. You have roughly 30 stars going at an enemy, like 1-2 times a second. 40% chance to proc the bats? dealing an extra 5 hits, give it say 2 times of the 4 skills usages? The fact that the mark also increases defense ignored (up to 40% at max stacks, correct me if I’m wrong) along side the dot. This is, by far, the god boss class. They took all the mediocre mobbing that the night lord had, shunted it out the window, and replaced it with MORE BOSSING. They have no mobbing potential, whatsoever, aside from whatever they need to get through the first 100-150 levels or so. The sheer insanity of having a 5x hitting FINAL ATTACK, that hits for equal or MORE damage that the skill used itself. This is just ridiculous.

    • Anonymous
      April 10, 2014 at 8:19 am

NW looks powerful here (i.e. 6 throws instead of 5) but there’s plenty of other things to consider. The skill % for their skills are completely different (with 4 stars at 330%, 2 at 420%) compared to NLs. Not to mention that NW have totally different skill sets to support this (lack of ETSH, lack of Mark of NL, a slightly lower % for SP for NW, lack of mobbing skills) if I’m not mistaken. Even their hyper skill have too long a cool down for just 30s.

They may be better with a bind skill, but that’s probably just about it now. In fact I’m more keen to agree with someone’s point that they didn’t seem to put much work into NW as compared to BW, with just the addition of a few skills to give it a “bat-theme”. Let’s just wait for the translation to be 100% complete. After all this is still under testing.

Nightwalkers seem to have reverted to old NL pre BB… And to be brutally honest as boring and repetitive as a hermit or assassin back then…As much as I’m for nostalgia content I’m not very happy with this. Hell, their second job they get ONE attacking skill. They seem to be excellent bowsers with what I’m fine with but it seems as it will be HELL to train. Their hyper skill seems awesome! Very flashy and def unneeded but still cool nonetheless. I’m curious as to how they will do in game.

It seems to me that this patch is a Tespia patch rather then an official release. First of all why would they rush a class out a month early, and not put much effort into it as Blaze Wizard. Each Cygnus Knight that was released including Blaze Wizard has their own unique mechanics, but if you look at Night Walker it just seems to be an assissian who upgrades certain skills per advancement, and has a bat motif. To me Night Walker as it stands seems to be a working draft that shows that Kms has somewhat of an idea of what they want for Night Walker, but they haven’t quite finished the final product. Another thing I find strange other then a lack of events, hot times, etc is why isn’t their any new art work for either class like the other knights did. I also find it strange that the Cygnus Knight story wasn’t expanded to include references to the events that awakened Cygnus in the first place. Seriously as it stands right now the Cygnus Knight storyline only has unique content to level 30 before almost rehashing the old Cygnus Knight story, and none of their quests mention nothing about Damien killing Shinsoo in the first place. While I do enjoy what they did with Blaze Wizard I just hope that KMS isn’t quite finished with Night Walker because as it stands they pretty much have the same skill set as they previously did, but with a few extra moves, and a bat motif thrown in to try to make them different.

        What’s with the sigh?
You don’t honestly think that those summons are on par with the quality of the skills? They could have easily given the BW a summon comparable to Ifrit. The skills are teeming with destruction and chaos and they’re given an adorable gelatin and a lion/rabbit. They needed a summon that reflects their destructive nature.

They should really hire people outside their company. They need to differentiate each class better. For Night Walker, I was thinking of a disappearing type (ex: Night Crawler from X-Men). There was a skill called Bat Swarm for Demon Avengers, “Bat Swarm” could’ve been for Night Walkers instead -___- ……They might as well given Night Walkers some ninja style skills involving shadows….

Dark Knight’s reincarnation thing isn’t special anymore. I mean I understand Blaze Wizard with the whole Phoenix thing, but Night Walker’s? Absorbing with darkness to revive? I don’t really understand that. Maybe something like absorbing your shadow or something to revive would’ve made a little more sense to me. Just my opinion though.

Seriously the skills’ name for Night Walker is just plain and boring. Night Walker needs a mobbing skill too, aside from Darkness Omen and Stardust.

can the clone hit another mob since it copies your moves but not the target?

    • Max
      April 15, 2014 at 8:01 pm

Yes! If you position it correctly/if you kill your target first then the Servant’s attacks will hit a new mob behind it.

Haste: Temporarily increase speed and jump for all party members. Increases maximum speed permanently. (max level: 10)
Level 1: 4 speed and 2 jump, 30 second duration. Passively increases max speed by 2, avoid by 6%.
Level 20: 40 speed and 20 jump, 300 second duration. Passively increases max speed by 20, avoid by 15%.

Seeing as this patch was a tespia patch the changes displayed above for Night Walker could easily change when the final product comes out in May. I am actually certain that something will be changed since the current changes for Night Walker is receiving a lot of negative feed back.

I love the information on this site! My only regret is that I didn’t find this sooner. Does anyone know when this update will be coming to North American servers (sorry for not knowing the abbreviations)? I am eagerly waiting the arrival of this patch- I have a nightwalker already high level.

FW will come to kMS servers this month so it will probably come to GMS in ~6 months, NW is coming next month to kMS. GMS might package them together like the last Cygnus revamps though.
