MapleStory 2 Supporters’ Day #03: Jobs!

Another video has been released for MapleStory 2, this time showcasing the jobs! I won’t be translating the whole video, it’s mainly just stuff you would already know if you had read each job’s teaser image, but the last two questions were interesting to me.

Q: Do you plan to add more jobs?

If we did add more jobs, they would not be like Hero classes. But for now, I believe we should focus more on balancing our current 8 jobs and making sure each of them have unique characteristics.

Q: Will there be PvP content?

Yes, there will be. Currently, the fighting is very ‘hack and slash’ but we hope to develop battle roles more in the future. There is going to be a variety of PvP conditions because we want to consider users who generally dislike PvP.

I think by ‘no Hero classes’, they mean they don’t want to add jobs that are a single character with a predetermined story.

Solo PvP Team PvP

They showed off two different modes of PvP in the video actually, the first looks like 1v1 and the second looks like a team game. The minimap makes me think of MOBAs haha.

I hope Max is right about what they mean by hero classes. Singular characters

I hope Max’s interpretation is right, bc i’m secretly hoping they’ll eventually add a generic Dragon Master class. Evan’s mah main man! And If not Evan in name, then at least in spirit!

A generic dualbow user would also be cool too.

Luckily for you, MS2 is going to be an international release. You’ll be getting it as soon as everyone else in the world, minus the beta testers.

I am so glad that they’re basically keeping it like old Maple story and not going forward with any hero classes. The concept to have the assassin’s star come back is genius too. So far I’m liking it. I am glad they put old Maple developers on this team. I liked their content back when Maple came out and I’m liking Maple 2 because of the same people.

I hope this game doesn’t turn in what maplestory is now, a game with hundreds of jobs and skills where everyone do the same attacks but with different names

I just tested that today and it still worked. There has already been two minor patches for this patch, so I assume if they wanted to ‘fix’ it they would have. It’s probably intended?
