MapleStory 2 Alpha Test Overview!
So it’s been a few days since the Alpha test for MapleStory 2 ended. Today, they uploaded a fun infographic video showing some of the stats from the Alpha test, so let’s watch!
There was a total of 5 days of the Alpha test, from September 17, 2014 to September 21.
Many users participated with a lot of care and interest in the game!
There was a total of 37 hours of testing.
6,929 characters were created over this period of testing, with 50.54% male and 49.46% female.
There was a ton of activity, with users exploring every corner of MapleStory 2.
Players used a total of 472,109 potions while fighting bravely against powerful monsters!
A grand total of 3,566,114 monsters were defeated!
While playing, there were a total of 75,720 deaths. In the process, that many tombstones fell from the sky over the course of the testing period!
Through fighting bravely, users collected 9,735,121,011 mesos!
Beauty Street, which is where you can change your hair and faces, was used 23,549 times!
When users were ready to begin a new adventure, they rushed to take a total of 30,533 taxis.
4,159 people participated in the exhilarating mini-game Trap Master, and there were 387 winners in total.
Users could advance to a job of their choosing once they reached level 10.

- Wizard (484 people)
- Knight (462 people)
- Ranger (390 people)
- Priest (384 people)
Can you count the number of ways you could decorate your own house? 794 contracts were signed so users could have their own home.
In the 5 days of Alpha testing, there was a combined total of 1,318,968 hours of play time!
Users ran, swam, fought monsters, and completed many quests over the course of the testing.
Due to everyone’s participation, the MapleStory 2 team was able to gather a lot of valuable data.
They gave a big thanks for everyone’s love and enthusiasm during the Alpha test.

Although the Alpha test is over, no news has been released about the next phase of testing (closed Beta I guess). Hopefully they can let us know soon, and let a lot more people in so that everyone can enjoy MapleStory 2!

Some of these stats seem fishy. If there were 6,929 characters created and 1,318,968 hours of playtime, then there is ~190 hours of playtime per character over 5 days, which isn’t possible since there is only 120 hours in 5 days; also they said there were only 37 hours of testing, which doesn’t add up.

if you find out how many hours were spent per day per character its
(1,318,968/6,929)/5 = ~37 hours
…..
….
