kMSt ver. 1.2.429 – Magician Reorganization!

A new patch was released in Tespia, changing around the adventurer magician classes’ skills! (in reality they’re just number changes) There are also hints of the return of PvP as well as a couple of other new things, read on~

Skill Changes

Magician

  • Magic Claw (1st): damage has been increased from 120% to 130%, number of monsters hit has been increased from 3 to 4

Fire/Poison Mage

  • Poison Breath (2nd): damage over time has been increased from 60% to 80%
  • Extreme Magic (3rd): damage boost has been increased from 10% to 20%
  • Mist Eruption (4th): damage has been decreased from 460% to 345%, number of hits has been increased from 6 to 8
  • Big Bang (4th): damage over time has been increased from 110% to 140%
  • Meteor (4th): cooldown has been decreased from 30 seconds to 20 seconds
  • Paralyze (4th): damage has been decreased from 240% to 200%, , number of hits has been increased from 4 to 6, damage over time has been increased from 140% to 180%

Ice/Lightning Mage

  • Extreme Magic (3rd): damage boost has been increased from 10% to 20%
  • Blizzard (4th): cooldown has been decreased from 30 seconds to 20 seconds

Bishop

  • Invincible (2nd): damage reduction has been increased from 20% to 25%
  • Holy Arrow (2nd): number of monsters hit has been increased from 3 to 4
  • Holy Focus (3rd): mastery has been increased from 65% to 70%
  • Shining Ray (3rd): damage has been increased from 220% to 240%
  • Angel Ray (4th): damage has been decreased from 420% to 375%, number of hits has been increased from 3 to 4
  • Genesis (4th): cooldown has been decreased from 30 seconds to 20 seconds

Flame Wizard

  • Magic Claw (1st): damage has been increased from 120% to 130%, number of monsters hit has been increased from 3 to 4
  • Fire Pillar (2nd): damage has been increased from 350% to 400%
  • Flame Gear (3rd): damage over time has been increased from 100% to 140%
  • Fire Strike (3rd): damage has been increased from 210% to 230%

  

After the Legend classes are restricted again, this is what the character creation screen will look like!

New UI has been added in the data for Super Fight! Does this mean the waited revamp is coming soon? There will be a new mode called Hardcore!

Also, I think that the Grade (Rank in GMS I believe)stat will actually do something now, as it has received its own ‘level up’ animation, just like Honor from Aswan.

            without revamps people will get bored with the game. If people get bored, people stop playing; which doesn’t make nexon any money. Also, when you wait for revamps, you keep playing the game, which in turn will hopefully make money for nexon

            lol what do you mean when will they stop? thats like asking apple when will they stop making iphones and the verdict is never because people like new stuff it gets them interested again. btw big bang doesnt need an increase in dmg/dot it needs that charge removed. the charge that skill has makes that skill useless in boss battles and training

            oh and they also need to change the demon skills to knock back attacks so as to send mobs far away from you that is much needed along with the removal of the charge for big bang

      If you are referring to Legends as a class on gMS, you can make one now. One per account.
      Read about it in one of the event pages on the website.

    Lack of Evan nerfs is quite disappointing. Also kinda funny that F/Ps now absolutely destroy I/Ls no matter what. The balance that was there before is lost. Oh well, Nexon will be Nexon.

      I/L are superior at mobbing and deal more hits per second. With a lot of funding, I/L can surpass F/Ps, just not as much as they used to. F/Ps were fairly underpowered compared to I/L up until now.

      You have to keep in mind that Evans, as the current patch of GMS are 2.5x stronger than normal mages. The last patch made i/ls buffed up to almost their par, however f/ps got the shortest end of that patch.

      F/ps deserve this patch, more than any other mages. Bishops too. Now explorer mages are almost up to par (if not already) with Evans.

        Yeah, I agree to both of these replies of how F/P are still underpowered. I/L will still be the stronger one, unless they balance them even more.

        Just my two cents, but when I envision a “Hero/Legend” class, I would imagine that they became “Heroic/Legendary” because of their strength. That being said, it seems natural that classes such as Evan, Mercedes, Aran, etc. should be stronger than average Explorers and Resistance. Granted, they should be harder to level, but I don’t think it seems right to argue about them being stronger.

          Story is unimportant in MMOs while balance is one of the most important aspects to MMOs. There is no justification for any class being superior, at everything, to another class. Plus, if you wanted story to really become important enough to make certain classes stronger, then there should only be one of each hero per server. After all, it doesn’t make sense story-wise to have a dozen Mercedes running around in the same map.

            I thought the exact same thing when they first released Aran 2 years ago. “If Aran himself is the Warrior legend, why are there literally thousands of him?” I suppose that’s one flaw in the overall scheme of the Maple Story, but it would be pointless to create a class and only allow one person per server to even play it. In order to pull that off, the person would have to be an employ of Nexon and be online. You simply can’t trust kids to fulfill the role of being a Legend and being on all of the time.

            I agree that balance is an important aspect in a game, but Maplestory seems to be launching their story pretty high up there at the moment. If it were harder to create/ level a Legend/Hero character, then I believe their system would have improved tremendously; however, it’s a little late to do that now.

        Not saying F/Ps don’t deserve the patch. Just saying the buff for F/Ps compared to I/Ls is overkill. Especially since Paralyze now hits the same percentage as CL and has DoT, while CL is only 30ms faster to cast than Paralyze. I would’ve been much happier to see Evans get nerfed.

      Basically in the HP bar, the damage you do will be shown as red and it will slowly fade away leaving just green (remaining HP).

      No offence, but… That was waaaay before big bang. Now we fight alongside every other class, and occasionally heal and resurrect. That’s why bishops rule! Not damage-wise of course, but I think bishops are one of the most original characters, gameplay-wise.

      Hey! There’s a thought. 😀

      Seriously, there’s no sense in doing nearly 1million damage in any game. I think the game would be more fun if characters did less damage and they monsters had slightly less HP.

      If I had it my way, monsters would give more EXP but even a really strong player would take about 3~4 hits to kill them. It would make things more fun in my opinion if everything wasn’t 1 hit killed that you trained on. Lion Heart Castle seems like a good idea, but I would create other areas with HP that’s around 500k~2mil. That seems about right to me.

      Keep in mind that the values I’ve put out there are in my imaginary lower damage world. 🙂

      Archer reorganization is coming next, they already put some equipment that fits the Strong Warrior Ring/Wise Magician Ring that are used for this event.

      Damage is actually better, and it’ll go now to 1500% for all 4 hits. How’s that bad? And higher chance for passive skills to work and such as well.

      I wonder if Nexon’s next step will be to lower Dark Fog’s cooldown to 10 seconds? o.O
      Of course, they’re probably just tying up the loose end of it already being at 20 seconds, but I wouldn’t put it past them. At the rate all the other skills magicians have are growing, it doesn’t seem impossible that we’ll be seeing spammable “ultimates” again. After all, they aren’t really that ultimate anymore.

      I’m not sure if this is a good idea or not though. If they do become spammable, I would lower their damage by a good 200 or 300%.

    There’s other ways of getting people’s interest in the game, other than revamps and new jobs, such as new towns and more interesting and original events. And that’s the problem, Nexon only cares about money, and not the satisfaction of their players.

    There’s other ways of getting people’s interest in the game, other than revamps and new jobs, such as new towns and more interesting and original events. Also, there’s more people complaining of the revamps, new jobs, and lack of originality than those approving of it.
