MapleStory 1st Festival!
On May 19, Nexon will be hosting the MapleStory 1st Festival at COEX in Korea. Alongside celebrations for MapleStory’s 10th anniversary, they will also be revealing the contents of the Summer update for this year! This is said to be the beginning of a new history for MapleStory! What could it be? Who is this mysterious character? Only time will tell… It might be a new class, or maybe even 5th job? Exciting~

The Amazing 10! Hot Time is on May 4, at 2:30PM. You really ought to be saying “some Adventurers,” because as far as I can see, there are many of them that don’t need a thing.. Heroes, Paladins, Shadowers, capped Marksmen, and even before cap.. Mages are still good.. people really like to complain for no reason. I am with Max though, in that Bow Masters are -one of the few- that need upgrades. That aside, I’d love to see a fifth job, but not because classes need help or anything, just because more skills would be awesome. And if hypers already hit 15 enemies at a time, what potential could a fifth job hold? Maybe the same thing but no cooldown? Summons and new forms for every class? I have high hopes.

Looks like a revamped Dragon Knight if you ask me. Maybe my speculation is true and the summer update is going to be the same as the Cygnus Knights’ revamp but for Explorers.
I just doubt it will be a 5th job, since it will make the idea of the Hyper Skills (which Maplestory almost got to all the classes in the game except from Blaze Wizard and Night Walker) pointless in my opinion. I don’t think Nexon did all this just to make a fifth job a year later, since I saw Hyper Skills as a sign of “We will never make a 5th job, but here is an improvement to cause the lack of skills to unlock on levels 140+).

Interesting, but then we wouldn’t have an increased level cap if Hyper Skills were the end of the road. Additionally, Hyper Skills were referred to as “The Beginning of Evolution”, which supports the idea of further advancement (evolution). Revamping isn’t “evolution” or “progress”, it’s merely fixing what already is. Hyper Skills would only be “useless” if they were not developed as well to match their job counterparts. Lastly, I’d say that’s a Hero and not a DK; spears don’t have crossguards at the blunt end.

max, i would like to ask something which is not related to this update. Its regarding post Unlimited Cygnus Empress Drops. Do the weapons dropped by empress is seen differently for each members inside the party? Before unlimited all members can see the same drops, but i’m not quite sure how it’s like post unlimited. I making assumptions due to some root abyss boss videos that shown each player seems to see/loot diff type of equipments. MapleSEA just received unlimited recently. Hopefully u get what i mean. =x
I think everyone gets their own set of drops in terms of cubes/flames/equipment, or at least that’s how it works for Root Abyss, I’m not too knowledgeable about Cygnus. xD

Better be a Adventurer revamp! I totally understood doing Cygnus first (they needed it SO BAD, 120 lvl cap was ridiculous) but Adventurers are sorely lacking in every department. I could see this being a new beginning for Maplestory, where every class is finally playable and enjoyable.
At least theoretically.
They probably will do a fifth job and started lower than 200 and add a new set of hyper skills at higher levels since the skill passives wouldn’t be any good. OR just add more skill to the passive skill list. And also that guy in the first picture looks like mihile. or xenon but it might be some new image for a warrior revamp. I almost believe that it’s going to be the adventurers revamp because in one of Max’s post the creepy poster said “With MapleStory’s anniversary, they begin to move” and the picture has random people in it in the dark which are the most likely adventurers.
PLEASE nerf the bosses. Unlimited was a crappy update that we’re not ready for.

Story behind the “new Movement”. The adventurers were training in secret waiting to overthrow the New Jobs. The built Henesys in secret and when it was time they destroyed the current Henesys brought their freshly built Henesys and replied it. This is why Henesys is the way it looks now.

I think they should give Dark Knights the option of choosing a two handed sword. I mean Heroes get to choose between swords and axes, why can’t Dark Knights get a different weapon too. [Most Dark Knights use swords stereotypically]
On a different note, this could be the start of “Evil” Maplers. Being able to choose to fight for the Black Mage instead of just being forced into the crusade to defeat him. Nexon could make it your goal to kill the “Good” Maplers, and take down Cygnus, World Tree, etc.
There will be a 5th job, otherwise why the level cap increase. Hyper Skills will not be the end.

It’s just a regular boss, although the attacks it uses are sort of cool haha. Since I’m level 200 it’s really easy but for those in the level range, you’ll probably have to dodge its attacks (similar to Root Abyss)!
they should do something creative like a new set of classes that are like demigods or something like the gods of maple one of them should be a pirate and the son of poseidon with like a anchor used as a scythe or trident like that one guy said, and secondary weapon is a chain idk lol but u guys get what im going at

If the Adventurers do get a huge buff, that would leave the Resistance as the weakest… I really wouldn’t like it if Adventurer Mages become a lot better than Battle Mages. F/P archmages are still fairly stronger than BaMs, so it would suck if the they receive a significant buff… Otherwise, I think all the other Adventurers need an upgrade compared to the Heroes, and the Nova classes.
Hopefully Nexon will finally do this ‘balancing’ stuff right…
I agree. This update is like a pivot. If they get it right, they will win back players. Get it wrong, and IMO they are digging themselves a grave.

I say they have a Bard class to fill the 3rd Archer spot in the Explorers as the new job and as for fifth job…we actually already have it… only we call it hyper skills…at least I think.
Bard would fit under magicians. And what about the 250 cap. Nothing for those levels. Probably they are gonna release something for the high levels
Please don’t call hyper skills “5th job”. You do not get any job advancement animations for it, you don’t get a new skill that is supposed to replace an existing one… most of it is just boosting skills you already have. People calling hyper skill 5th job bugs me A LOT…
With all this hype, it has to be the 5th job class. It has been years since 4th job came out. And now all these extra levels with the 250 cap increase. Just makes sense to me.
