MapleStory 2 – Wizard!

Wizard

Another job teaser for MapleStory 2, this time it’s the second magician class, the Wizard!

MapleStory 2 - Wizard!

Wizard

Through a pursuit for endless knowledge, they have learned to handle the forces of nature freely. They can freeze everything with a cold air, or burn everything to ashes with an intense flame. But on the battlefield, due to their unknown power, they are often the first target.

————–

Since ancient times, Ellinia’s fairies have stayed deep in the woods, creating their own world away from humans. But suddenly, the world was thrown into severe chaos and in need of their power. They opened their door slightly, and began to carefully accept adventurers who were interested in their ancient knowledge.

Humans who have acquired knowledge with the help of the fairies are referred to as Wizards. They throw themselves in their studies due to their desire to learn everything about the world. However, some get so wrapped up in it that they disregard everything and everyone else in the world.

          i do agree with u that they are trying too hard too make everything more cute, but i dont really think that ms2 would fail becuz ms is already pretty popular and ppl would switch to ms2. also, the graphics seem pretty cool in ms2 and the customization is pretty nice.

          …. i seem like a very serious person mebbe

    Every class revealed so far has be showcased using a female character. I wasn’t aware the female demographic was so large in Maplestory! :O

      I doubt you’ll be able to play a male character anytime soon >.>. and did anyone notice the giant thighs with maplestory women recently lol? and whats wrong with the wizards neck? its really small.

        You guys do realise the original Adventurer Maplestory character class designs also used to be all females? I believe they are just following the trend they made long ago 🙂

      April 22, 2014 at 6:35 pm

      Dude, they’re trying to appeal to DUDES with these “hot” female characters, not FEMALES. What about those hips implies that they’re trying to appeal to females? What about Berzerker’s chest is supposed to appeal to females? They aren’t adding lots of female chars for an internal female demographic, but to attract an external MALE one.

      • CATS
        April 25, 2014 at 2:47 pm

        marketting truism:
        attractive male characters appeal only to straight women and gay men.
        however, even straight women and gay men can appreciate a pretty lady.

        ~~~~
        I think a lot of people need to learn to not expect to get to play testosterone-poisoned “manly man” characters in a game directly related to one whose manliest characters are still far from the western ideal of masculinity that involves sweaty bulging muscles everywhere.
          Its not, the empress of MS2 is NAMED Ereve, so the island had been named after her. Also, the game takes place millenia before the White Mage was even born, and he was like 30+ by the time he became Black Mage
          Adventurers like the explorer classes we play in Maplestory existed in the heroes’ time, but the 5 heroes (6 if we count En Wol or whatever I guess) were the only 5 brave enough to confront the black mage (and the Demon Slayer, too). What did not exist yet were the Cygnus knights, resistance, and of course the other individual classes (such as xenon, Hayato, Kanna, kaiser, etc.). However I do believe that the heroes (and Demon Slayer) will not, or should not, be playable classes in Maplestory 2 because it is a predecessor to the events of Maplestory.
          Also, on a side note, I totally thought this game was just an April fools joke that Nexon came up with last year. It’s interesting and cool to see that they are actually making it!
            This game takes place long before even Mercedes was born.
            Also, it was not merely because they were the only ones brave enough, it was ALSO because they were the only ones STRONG enough. First, training was impossible in maplestory back when players first entered it 8 years ago. Getting to level 70 had been more difficult than getting to 200 is today. Now, just TRY to imagine how difficult it would have been to get to 200 back then. It’d likely be an even more insane feat than getting to 250. Now, imagine that the leveling curve had been cut in half every 5 years or so, and imagine what it would’ve been like to do get to 200 with a leveling curve 2^60 times the curve we originally had. Even the most powerful adventurers back then couldn’t have been much further than second job.
            Okay, it probably didn’t ACTUALLY decrease 60 times historicallly. But at LEAST imagine getting to 200 back when it took a week to get 30 (NOTE:, THE PEOPLE WHO TALK ABOUT LEVELING PRE-BB AREN’T TALKING ABOUT ANYTIME PRE-BB, AS BIG BANG WAS THE second TIME THAT THE CURVE WAS EASED, NOT THE first. You’d have to have played since before Aran was released back in december 2010, since I know that aran was released AFTER the first curve)
            Also, the cap was only 200k when the game began
            5/6 heroes were able to hit 1ms long before the adventurers ever could. (Freud, Lumi, Merc, and Eunwol [and presumably Phantom] hit 1ms ~307 years before you nubs ever could Imean, you guys needed the fabric of FREAKING universe twisted before you could hit 1ms)
    Hey Max and everyone.
    This may seem late and completely out of left field but I have some questions about the new enhancement and scroll trace systems that I just cannot find the answer to. If Max, or anyone who knows about these would answer, I’d be grateful.
    First, scroll trace system, Max only gave the stats for the 30% for the 120 weapon. I’d like to know what can be gotten for the 70% and 100% options as well.
    Second, I’d like to know what kind of stats you get for only the first and second stars for, say, a level 100 warrior equip, like a glove or overall. I’d also like to know the level of the equip that was in the example for the enhancement system used a few posts back.
    If anyone answers these, thank you very much.
      Go away, If youre going to use crap gear, at LEAST have the decency to use 110 gears. In fact, unless you’re unable to afford potions, you should have Reverse gears. Not common in FM bc they’re utter crap, but they’re 300k. NEVER settle for nub 100 gears, the only reason it can be called excusable is if you use 100 top + bot and NOTHING else
        There is a method to my madness, and this is purely hypothetical. What I want is a reference point. Don’t blindly assume something when you know nothing, makes you look like kind of a dick. Besides, I’m in the process of upgrading to Lionheart. And my new main is 136. *Rolls eyes*
        Also, what if the best gear you come across happens to be level 80 %str gear? What then? “Upgrade” when it’s a (temporary) downgrade?
        • Anonymous
          April 22, 2014 at 6:43 pm
          First off, I DID know something: that you wanted to KNOW HOW LV 100 WEAPONS roll, second, it’d be better to know how good 140 is because its 1. the same distance form 120, making it an equally good reference point, and 2. its more relevant to YOUR situation. 3. How do you figure? I’ve heard CLEAN empress outshines reverse with a SIZABLE amount of %STR, and you NEVER settle for anything under level 100, for a TON of reasons. A lot of the higher end potentials need 100+, and a few relevant stats go up a tier at that level.
          • Anonymous Coward
            April 23, 2014 at 8:14 pm
            Look, don’t tell me what I want. I asked to know level 100 stats. End of story. There shouldn’t even be a discussion. I want a LOW reference point, not a high/endgame one. Like I said, this is for hypothetical reasons, NOT practical. This ain’t an OP making-potential maxing-get effective stats thing. This is an experimental-give-me-a-lower-end-higher-end-be-darned-until-I-see-for-myself thing. There is a method to my madness.
            As for why I want that? My business is my own on that matter.
    Maybe all you guys don’t understand what Maple Story 2 is all about. You’re talking about all of these classes but all of that stuff is NEW Maple Story not old. Maple Story 2 is based off of old Maple Story. I hope that the people who soiled the original don’t jump ship; the fair weather fans, solo artists, and attack range obsessors. I loved it when 100 damage was a big deal at level 30. When you partied up because you couldn’t win separately even if you were “OP”. Now the game isn’t even intellectual anymore, they’ve dumbed down every aspect and every quest in the game.
    • Dark Evan
      April 16, 2014 at 7:32 pm
      Newsflash! It was NEVER intellectual. If you didn’t need to think to kill zakum or ht in 10 mins, then you didn’t need to think to kill them in an hour with a full raid. It is more intellectual now than before, since the Root Abyss, Chaos Root Abyss, Magnus, and Gollux raids (i can only do normal ra and easy gollux myself though) actually require you to think and strategize, provided you’ve got enough dmg to kill them. It isn’t safe to stand in one place no matter HOW many potions you have to spare. It doesn’t really matter how “hard” zakum was back then, it was merely the massive hp coupled with the low dmg of maplers back then that made it hard, and no, coordination and communication between players didn’t make it more difficult, if you knew what you were doing, you would have known which arms healed and to go after those first and quickly, but it didn’t matter if everybody attacked different arms, that’d just mean the other arms were closer to death whenyou killed yours, and you’d eventually all be after the same arm, and then the body would be EVERYBODY’S target, since its the only one.
      TLDR: the difference between now and then wasn’t SKILL or TEAMWORK, it was that it WASN’T POSSIBLE TO DO ENOUGH DAMAGE TO KILL ZAKUM ALONE. It doesn’t matter if you have to survive zakums attacks for two seconds or two hours, you’d still die if you had to put up with it for X seconds.
        April 26, 2014 at 5:56 pm
        Agreed, people get so nostalgic for “hard bosses being easy now” when they don’t look at bosses like Magnus or Gollux (even Empress), they ARE hard, CRA is another example, just yesterday, I got in a team to CRA, we did defeated the boss, but it required timing and some few teamwork.
        People that see videos at which the user is extremely funded (aka 2m-2m range) think “WTF has MS become?” but that’s because they see how easy the boss is beaten, when the real situation is that you still need to think of a strategy to beat that boss.
        For example, Gollux, you have to keep the summons from touching the head so you don’t instantly die, on the first phase you have to go from one side to another in order to avoid the attacks while ALSO killing the summons in order to succeed, the second phase was similar to the first one but this time you need to time your skills and check the bottom continuously (for some classes), the third phase was mere DPS and keeping the summons alive. So where is the difficulty here? The summons and the life count, if you don’t kill the summons, you will literally fail the run, that’s the point, if you don’t make a strategy to beat the profit-able bosses, you won’t win anytime soon.
        TL;DR: People get worked over something pointless, they don’t take much facts in count and almost always get clouded by nostalgia, I don’t say having nostalgia is bad, but overrating it is not good, it’s almost a cliche by now.
