MapleStory 2 Official Launch!
After who knows how many years of rumours and hype, MapleStory 2 has been officially released! As of July 7 at 7PM KST, the game was made available. However, there were a few server maintenances and even a rollback so it wasn’t without issues haha.
I don’t know how much I’ll be playing MS2, but let me know in the comments below if you guys want me to cover patches and stuff like that! I believe Reboot World will be coming to the official KMS servers on the 9th, so I’m excited to try that out.
Nexon set up this page for beginners of MapleStory 2, where you can see screenshots, videos, and a very cool guide to the content you’ll see as you level up. It even shows skills you’ll attain and boss monsters as well. Don’t forget to check out MAVIEW as well, which is awesome! It’s so useful in-game and there’s so much stuff, they even added job skill information recently.
And of course, you can check out my previous posts for more MapleStory 2 information. My Comprehensive Guide covers a lot of things about the game, except for the content which was added in the final CBT.
There is only one world: Scania, and there’s a whopping 200 channels!
There were a few events which began today as well. The first is the Daily Attendance Check! It runs from July 7 to Jul 30.
You just have to log on once a day and open the Attendance Check UI to confirm your participation. For each day you participate, you’ll get special prizes! These prizes add up to the equivalent of about 70,000 Won!

Second is the July Weekend Beauty Days event which runs from July 7 to July 30. It takes place every weekend (as the name would imply).
Basically, each day of every weekend, a different part of Beauty Street will be free to use! They use Merit regularly which can be acquired by purchasing it through real money and through selling UGC in the Merit Market.
- July 11: Hair Day
- July 12: Make-Up Day
- July 18: Plastic Surgery Day
- July 19: Skin Day
- July 25: Equipment Dye Day
- July 26: ALL Beauty Day
The last day of the event will have all Beauty Street transactions be completely free!
The Level Up! event will run from July 7 to July 30, in three parts (1 for each week).
Each week, as you achieve certain levels, you’ll be awarded a certain number of tickets. For example, when you reach level 30, you’ll get 48 tickets.
You can then trade these tickets in for the chance to win prizes such as 10k Nexon Cash, Samsung Headsets, MapleStory 2 figures, a Samsung curved monitor, or even a MapleStory 2 PC!
There are only a certain number of each prize so you’ll have to get lucky. You can enter as much as you want if you have enough tickets. There are 3 sets of these prizes for each week.
The Superstar M2 Pre Season event has begun and will run until July 30. Basically, you just have to buy a custom design item in-game, create your own equipment, take a screenshot, and post it on the MapleStory 2 discussion board.
The most popular designs will win money cards, and everyone who enters will receive GM Jacky’s Hoodie.
Finally, the Guild Championships Season 1 will begin on July 18 and run until July 26.
If at least 3 people in your guild that are level 28 or higher are online, you can begin to search for matches to fight other guilds at the Peaks of Valor.
Based on the rank of your guild, wins and losses will give you a certain number of Proofs of Valor, which is a type of currency you can use to trade in for prizes. In the chart on the top left, from left to right the columns are: Guild Rank, Win (Fighter), Win (Supporter), Loss (Fighter), Loss (Supporter).
Your Guild Rank can be Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Champion or Grand Champion.
At the end of the event, the top 100 Guilds in the Guild Championships will receive extra prizes!
- 1st Place: 2,000 Merit (for all guild members)
- 2nd Place: 1,000 Merit (for all guild members)
- 3rd Place: 500 Merit (for all guild members)
- 4th~10th Place: 300 Merit (for all guild members)
- 11th~100th Place: 100 Merit (for all guild members)
- All participating guilds: title

Id like to see any GMS updates…Im soooo bored…Ive already quit Maple 1…so gimme Maple 2 so I can quit that too =3=
200 channels, imagine browsing FM with that, haha.
One thing I really hope MS2 adds is job branching, it just feels so plain right now with a streamlined system like that, big part of MS was getting to a new job advance and getting all these new skills to work with.
That and proper PQs, not just “kills mobs, go to next room, repeat until the end”.
Don’t see much of a point in limiting levels either, if people want to get to 100 on level 40 mobs I say let them.

Damn this game looks generous! Tons of free events to change your characters’ looks! I hope Nexon doesn’t make 90-day equipment for the game.. The only time I really bought NX was when somrthing was permanent, because hey, why would you want to pay $2-3 on a piece of virtual clothing that lsts for only 90 days?
Please continue covering MS2 content and events! It’s intersting to hear about MS2 development ^^

Hey Max why aren’t you going to be playing MS2 very much?
I don’t have a lot of time to spend on games right now haha. Also, some things about MapleStory 2 are a bit annoying like the movement in the game. Since it’s 3D you have to go much further/climb stuff to get to places and monsters but the movement speed is terribly slow. It gets a bit better once you get your movement skill but it’s still cumbersome, most of the mounts are barely faster than regular walking too :S
I’ve quit MS for years now, but I’ll admit, MS2 looks interesting enough that I’ll want to try it if/when it comes over. I’m definitely interested in seeing you cover MS2 patches. You’re damn good at doing this kind of coverage, and it’d give me a reason to drop in regularly again, just like the good old days.
Please, cover the updates & patches for MapleStory 2 as well (if you can), it would be appreciated a lot!

I’m having a hard time finding any translated information on the skills for Thief and Heavy Gunner, so I’d love it if you’d be the one to keep us all up to date on MS2 things like you do with MS1. You’re the absolute best since Spadow himself.
