kMSt ver. 1.2.014 – Reboot World & Hyper Stats!

Reboot

A test server patch was released early today, containing the new Reboot World, the Hyper Stat system, and the Toad’s Hammer system. There were also other various changes such as new Star Force fields and changes to theme dungeon rewards. Read on for more information!

Reboot World

Reboot World

The new Reboot World has been added. Reboot World is a new world where the fun of traditional RPGs is revived without the burden of Cash.

Snail Pet

  • You can create any job except for Zero.
  • The base number of character slots is 6.
  • Each character’s Equip/Use/Set-up/Etc. inventory will have 48 base slots.
  • You can purchase character slots and inventory/storage slot expansions in the potion shops in each town for mesos.
  • When you create a character, you will receive a Snail pet and some potions.

Reboot World Monster Combat and Rewards

  • Reboot World’s monsters are stronger than regular worlds, and give more experience when defeated.
  • Depending on the level difference between the monster and your character, some combat numbers may change.
  • Your character’s damage will increase as their level increases.
  • Mesos dropped by monsters has been increased significantly.
  • Regular monsters will only drop equipment which your class can use.
  • Boss monsters’ drop rate of equipment and soul fragments have been increased significantly. Craftsman’s Cubes, Meister’s Cubes, Eternal Flames of Reincarnation, Strong Flames of Reincarnation, and Potential Stamps have been added as new rewards from bosses.
  • When you do not log in for 2 days or more, you will receive Rest Experience Coupons based on the number of days you did not log in.

  • In Reboot World, you cannot trade items or mesos with other users. You can use storage to move items (except for equipment) and mesos to other characters on your account. You cannot move untradeable items through the storage.

  • In Reboot World, you can learn all 5 professions. You cannot use Cube or Flame of Reincarnation recipes. You can no longer make Cubes or Flames of Reincarnation because they can either be acquired through boss monster drops or by buying them from potion shops in towns for mesos.

Toad's Hammer Icon

Toad's Hammer

The Toad’s Hammer system has been added.

  • Toad’s Hammer is a new system which allows you to transfer the number of Star Force enhancements (minus 1), up to Epic rank potential (including Additional Potential), and Soul information of an item to another which is 1~10 levels higher than it.
  • Characters level 40 and higher can click the Toad’s Hammer icon in the inventory window to use it.
  • If your potential (or Additional Potential) is Epic rank or lower, it will be carried over as-is. However, if your potential (or Additional Potential) is Unique rank or higher, it will have its stats changed to their Epic rank equivalents. If they are stats only available in Unique rank or higher, they will be randomly changed to Epic rank stats.
  • The item’s additional options and trade related options will not be carried over, the item receiving the stats will keep its existing additional options and trade related options. If the item receiving the stats still has upgrade slots remaining, 100% Scroll Trace scrolls will automatically be used to use up the remaining slots.
  • You can only move an item’s stats to another item which is 1~10 levels higher than it. Items with additional options of Equipped Level Increase/Decrease will not apply to this restriction.
  • The item receiving the stats will have its existing Star Force enhancements, potential (and Additional Potential), and Soul information removed and replaced with the other item’s.
  • The item whose stats are being extracted will disappear after it is used.
  • The Toad’s Hammer system cannot be used on some equipment.
    • Superior equipment
    • Items scrolled with Miraculous Equipment Enhancement Scrolls
    • Equipment with unique potential options (not the rank but like the Onyx Ring, etc)
    • Equipment with an expiry date
    • Cash items
    • Equipment which cannot be Star Force enhanced
    • Equipment which cannot receive potential
    • Equipment with unique skills
    • PC Room-only equipment
    • Zero-only weapons (Lapis, Lazuli)

Toad's Hammer (Extraction)

Here is an example. On the left is the item which is being extracted (my Falcon Wing Composite Bow with 10 stars, Epic potential, Rare Additional potential, and a 15 DEX Hilla Soul). In the middle is the item which is inheriting the stats (my Fafnir Wind Chaser with 11 stars, Epic potential, Rare additional potential, and an 18 DEX Plaid soul).

Since my inheriting item is 10 levels higher than my extracted item and the extracted item has at least 1 star, I can use Toad’s Hammer. It will result in a Fafnir Wind Chaser with 9 stars (originally 10 from my Composite Bow – 1), the same potential as my Composite Bow, and the Soul from my Composite Bow (15 DEX Hilla). It will not inherit the scrolled stats of my Composite Bow, it will keep its current +9 scrolls. If I hadn’t scrolled it fully, any left over slots would be used up with a 100% Scroll Trace scroll.

Hyper Stat

The Hyper Stat system has been added.

  • Starting from level 140, you will receive Hyper Stat Points which can be used to increase your Hyper Stats.
  • Hyper Stats that you can raise are:
    • STR: 15~150 (max level 10)
    • DEX: 15~150 (max level 10)
    • INT: 15~150 (max level 10)
    • LUK: 15~150 (max level 10)
    • HP: 2%~20% (max level 10)
    • MP: 2%~20% (max level 10)
    • Demon Force: 10~50 (max level 5)
    • Speed: 4~20 (max level 5)
    • Jump: 2~10 (max level 5)
    • Critical rate: 1%~15% (max level 10)
    • Minimum critical: 1%~10% (max level 10)
    • Maximum critical: 1%~15% (max level 10)
    • Defense ignore: 3%~30% (max level 10)
    • Damage: 3%~30% (max level 10)
    • Boss damage: 3%~35% (max level 10)
    • Elemental resistance: 4%~20% (max level 5)
    • Status resistance: 1%~15% (max level 10)
    • Stance: 2%~10% (max level 5)
  • Every 10 levels after level 140, the number of Hyper Stat Points you get upon level up will be increased.
    • Starting at level 140, you will get 3 Hyper Stat Points per level up. For every 10 levels after that, you will receive 1 more Hyper Stat Point per level up. (level 140~149 you’ll get 3, level 150~159 you’ll get 4, level 160~169 you’ll get 5, etc.)
  • Based on the current level of the stat, the amount of Hyper Stat Points required to increase it to the next level will increase.
  • You can reset your Hyper Stats for 10 million mesos.

Hyper Stat Points

As you can see, as the level of a Hyper Stat increases, it requires more and more Hyper Stat Points. The increase in points required is the same for max level 5 and max level 10 skills.

To max a level 5 skill, it requires 25 Hyper Stat Points. To max a level 10 skill, it requires 150 Hyper Stat Points.

Medal of Honor

The Honor system has been changed slightly.

  • After level 30, the amount of Honor you get per level up has been increased from 500 to a certain number based on your character’s level.
  • The amount of Honor given per Medal of Honor from hunting has been increased.

Does elemental resistance hyper stat work like ck’s pre rebalancing elemental expert?

    • Max
      July 2, 2015 at 10:22 pm

No, it’s resistance to elements so it decreases damage you take from elemental attacks.

It isn’t a nerf o_o star force maps are amazing, and KMS doesn’t have the retardedly high exp that others like GMS have.

Hey Max can you move a character from an existing world to Reboot world, or is it for only new characters?

    • Max
      July 2, 2015 at 10:43 pm

Well I mean there’s no World Leap event going on in the test server and that’s the only way to move characters so at the moment, no you cannot. Maybe they might add in a feature that lets you import your characters so you don’t lose all your work later but I don’t know 😛

    • Anonymous
      July 2, 2015 at 11:03 pm

I think being able to move characters would kind of defeat the point of a “Reboot”

      • M
        July 3, 2015 at 5:29 am

I thought they just deleted all the existing character’s shoes and gave it new shoes(or boots) and you can instantly be moved to Reboot world. That way, you can get that kinda reboot feeling.

So 894 Hyper stat points are given in total? And to fully upgrade one stat you need 150 points… That lets you max slightly less than 6 of them. What to go for….

  9. Anonymous
    July 3, 2015 at 12:08 am

Max i just wana ask, if the hyper stat system applies to zero
if so,then they reverted zero nerfs with those hyper stat system,by lvl 200,one could max 35% boss dmg,30% dmg,15% critical to nullify those nerfs except for that extra life skill reset of course.

just to make sure about toad’s hammer: scrolled stats carry over right?

    • Max
      July 3, 2015 at 8:20 am

No, the item which is inheriting the stats will keep its scrolled stats (and if its not fully scrolled, the rest of the slots will be used up automatically with 100% Scroll Trace scrolls).

  13. Randomcity2
    July 3, 2015 at 5:15 am

Max . . . . . correct me if i’m wrong here, but from my understanding of what I read here it seems like i can do the following for my Demon Avenger: perfect 15% trace scroll and 1 star a timeless Grim Seeker to be 195(110 + 85) toad hammer to an fearless grim seeker that has been hammered twice but no scrolls applied to become 240(125 + 115) and 1 star that to be 245(125 + 120) toad hammer to a clean hammered grand agares crimson zodiac to become 274(124 + 150) one star that to become 280(124 + 156) toad hammer that to a clean hammered Loveless Grim Seeker to be 333(147 + 186) one star that to be 340(147 + 193) toad hammer that to a clean hammered Lionheart Painful Destiny to be 360(137 + 223) one star that to be 368(137 + 231) toad hammer that to a clean hammered meister death bringer 420(159 + 261) one star that to be 429(159 + 270) toad hammer that to a clean hammered fafnir death bringer 471(171 + 300) one star that to be 481 toad hammer that to a clean hammered terminus death bringer to be 503(173 + 330) 15 star that to be a freaking 672(173 + 499) weapon? are you freaking kidding me? or did i misunderstand that fill in unused slots with 100% trace part.

    • Max
      July 3, 2015 at 6:10 pm

Scrolled stats are not carried over, only the number of stars – 1, the potential (up to Epic rank). additional potential (up to Epic rank), and Soul.

      • Randomcity2
        July 3, 2015 at 7:04 pm

The what was the freaking point of the system . . . It needs to carry over scrolling to be useful outside of convenience of moving soul and adding stars to rare items (tower of oz equips) and event items that you can never get back if blown up.

        • Max
          July 3, 2015 at 7:22 pm

The system was created so that you won’t lose all of the progress you have on your lower level equipment as higher level equipment becomes available. You can upgrade to a higher level item without having to re-enhance/re-cube/get another Soul.

          • Randomcity2
            July 3, 2015 at 8:00 pm

You have to rescroll everytime . . . that’s not cool when you have an old prime scrolled empress or root abyss equip that you wanted to make into absolute labs set or something like that. If this is all it does, you may as well ignore the system till you have your fafnir or absolute labs weapon perfect scrolled and want to move over stars from a bunch of yolo scrolled and yolo starred cheaply bought equips that you made till one got lucky and hit 15 stars in one go for cheap.

so wait you get these points to place into your hyper stats up til level 200 or 250 because if its 200 you will only be able to max like 2 -_- and to force us to get to level 250 to get the full benefit from our hyper stats is just outrageous

    • A$$wipe of the fourth kind
      July 3, 2015 at 2:06 pm

wouldnt it just be simpler to have you gain 1 point per level up until level 200, and have each hyper stat cost 1 point per level (200 – 140 = 60 points, 10 hyper skill levels/ 60 points = 6 hyper stats you can max)

      • HDex
        July 3, 2015 at 5:15 pm

That’s kind of the point. Currently there is no point to level past 200. So they created a reason.

    • Max
      July 3, 2015 at 5:59 pm

Until level 250. It’s because they wanted to give more of an incentive to level up past 200, since right now you get basically nothing.

      • Xenomata
        July 5, 2015 at 11:28 pm

I calculated that you can get 894 Hyper Stat points on a character. Is that right Max? I don’t want my calculations to be wrong…

    July 3, 2015 at 5:17 pm

This reboot world scares me. It’s almost as if they’re trying to attract pre-big bang players. Yet, I thought that was the purpose of MS2… so, this means that pre-big bang players need to give up all hope on MS2 I am guessing..

    • Anonymous
      July 16, 2015 at 11:42 am

Lol, MapleStory 2 is a whole new game experience. It’s suppose to attract a whole new audience.

  18. Bgrmystr2
    July 3, 2015 at 7:27 pm

Is it even possible to change your hair in the Reboot world? The ability to change your character visually pre-big bang was a pretty big deal when the cash shop first rolled around. Also, I’m curious if it’s possible to get the name of your non-reboot world character and/or be able to at least transfer the character themselves, visually (perhaps with nx items?), without any of their actual gear.

I have several characters with permanent nx items that aren’t able to be purchased in the cash shop anymore. I’d like to play the characters I have now in this Reboot world. Lack of items makes no difference to me.

I’m really curious what would happen if this comes around to GMS. It’s an interesting concept and I like it a lot. There’s just so much customization now than the oldschool game did not have, and that may be a game breaker for many veterans.

Yes, the Cash Shop sells beauty coupons but instead of being stuff like Regular/VIP/Royal coupons, they’re those coupons which give one specific hair/eye so you can choose what you want. Right now in the test server, there’s only like 4 coupons though.

Oh, I see. That’s useful. I hope they add more hairstyles and other visual aspects like nx outfits and stuff by the time they’re done messing with the design. If they do it right, it’ll be a really, really nice server. The lack of trading kind of concerns me, but I’ll have to see how much that affects the game. It’s an extreme change I think. For better or worse? Too extreme to tell without numerous tests over long periods of time. I think it’s worth to science it though.

Worries you? lt excites me personally!
And sure it’s “a big change”, but that’s the reason it gets its own server, all of these new ‘rules’ do not affect all the other servers.

Yes it worries me. The lack of ability to trade means no trading between any of your characters, any of your friends, a complete removal of the market, and a completely forceful push to make players spend long hours in the game on one character to result in anything.

Not saying that last one’s a bad thing, but a complete removal of the in-game market is a ridiculously large change that many likely won’t understand how much it will affect the server, the players themselves, how players interact with each other, the meta of who’s “pro”, and many others. It’s not a simple case of making everything untradable and everyone moves on. It’s much more than that.

Feel free to be excited for it, I’m also extremely curious to see how it will be handled. I’ve seen how that kind of non-trading system can negatively affect a playerbase. It’s not pretty.

…You know why they had to fix the damage appearing late on Illusion? Because we Evans already hit the speed cap and the animation itself can’t keep up.

So starting from 140 you gain 3 hyper stat points. And every level is +1 more. So at level 250 you should have 102 points. But the hyper points required to max a hyper stat skill is 150. Wat. Am I missing something or is that a typo?…

Nevermind. Miss read it. You get 804 points at 250.

“It will not inherit the scrolled stats of my Composite Bow, it will keep its current +9 scrolls. If I hadn’t scrolled it fully, any left over slots would be used up with a 100% Scroll Trace scroll.”

Does this still apply if the item that’s inheriting the stats is clean? Like if I was using the hammer on an primed Empress staff and a clean Fafnir staff, would the Fafnir inherit the 10 primes? No matter how many times I read about Toad’s Hammer, no one’s given a clear answer as to whether or not scrolled stats are transfered over.

Lol literally the first sentence answers your question but no the Fafnir would not inherit the 10 primes. If its completely clean the Toad’s Hammer would use up all of its slot with 100% Scroll Traces.
