KMST ver. 1.2.053 – New Cadena & All Jobs 5th Job Skills!

Chain Arts Fury Effect (Background)

The new test server patch brings new 5th job skills for all jobs as well as Cadena’s (finally). Cadena’s new 5th job skill, Chain Arts: Fury is even cooler than Night Walker’s Dominion!!

There’s also a few changes to 5th job and the addition of a new episode in Dimensional Library.

5th Job

Cadena

Cadena’s 5th job advancement has been added, along with new skill cores and enhancement cores.

Other Changes

The required time to complete the 5th job advancement has been decreased. It seems the waiting time in between charging Arcane Stones has been completely removed! This might just be a test server thing though so I’ll recheck once this hits the official servers.

Opening Cores

When you use Core Gemstones, you will now only receive V Cores that you can equip.

The experience required to level up V Cores has been adjusted. I will add more details when I find them but it seems someone on Insoya has made a chart of the new experience requirements. Top left is the old skill tables, top right is the new skill tables, bottom left is the old enhancement tables, bottom right is the new enhancement tables. The columns are from left to right: skill level, exp to next level, total exp, then average required cores (specific and rounded up).

Arcane Symbol

Arcane Symbols’ maximum level has been increased. I will add more details when I find them but I think it was increased to level 20.

Dimensional Library

I haven’t played through the episode yet, but based on the cutscenes/NPCs/maps/quest data, I believe the story takes place at the same time as the Black Mage’s height to power.

The main character is a bard in El Nath (I believe he is part of Von Leon’s kingdom). Von Leon’s castle is attacked and when the bard goes to help the survivors, he sees Von Leon talking to Hilla about taking revenge on Maple World by joining the Black Mage.

He encounters a strange girl (Alicia!) who asks for help in collecting animals for her ark (aka The SEED). Afterwards, she asks him to come with her but he declines, choosing to stay with his allies and fight.

In the end, the war overtakes the castle and they are invaded. The bard’s harp is passed down to the Transcendent of Life (Alicia) who leaves it in Ereb.

New NPCs have been added.

  • Haze
  • Miler
  • Alicia
  • Von Leon
  • Hilla

I hope korean warrior players start speaking up. This skill is pure trash.

It depends on whether it’s regular Stance or the Superstance thing from the Hero hyper skill, since that prevents anything, even stuff like Magnus’s attacks that are supposed to always knock you back from knocking you back. If it is superstance then it could be actually useful, albeit not til higher level ranges.

      • Anonymous
        July 13, 2017 at 6:33 pm

No, even that would be useless. If you are unable to dodge such attacks, surely having superstance 1/5th of the time won’t be a relevant help. At this point, with these bosses, damage is what counts, in this sense this skill doesn’t help hence why it is a useless facility that actually leaves us behind (I see 55%+ critical damage, 35% final damage, correct me if wrong). Mages’ skill at least is a life savior, warriors’ is horrible and needs to be radically changed. And pirates’ skill should be made actually a relevant buff (the concept is nice in my opinion but effect is too bland to be called a buff), with the addition that Xenon might pick only one of either thief or pirate.

          July 13, 2017 at 8:11 pm

You had a power skill called weapon aura last time around, thieves had a useless skill called venom burst and I heard archer’s skill sucked. It’s only right for warriors and mages to get a crappy skill this time around.

          • Anonymous
            July 14, 2017 at 5:30 am

So you’re comparing a set of 2 skills (warriors) that give 10% final damage, a weak bonus attack every now and then and nothing else (exactly what stance is), to a set of 2 skills that give 35% final damage, damage over time and a status that now affects Cadena’s link for even more extra damage. You brain.

          • jack
            July 15, 2017 at 1:47 am

You didn’t even try to make the crappy venom burst look good. Enjoy your shitty warrior move, you deserve it. The fact that you make it try to look good makes you look pretty dam ignorant of how bad it is.

Weapon Aura last a lot longer than 30 seconds and doesn’t make you squishy.

          • Anonymous
            July 20, 2017 at 4:23 am

Because you have evidently tried it with Cadena’s link. You are ignorant about your own class, you just keep spilling hate on warriors. Why don’t you play perma beginner, easier for you to understand and allows you to complain more properly about how everyone else outdamages you with their little finger?

        • seah jeremy
          July 14, 2017 at 2:00 am

i think the one for thief is just as bad. thief are already so paper and they want to reduce their evasion to 0 and increase damage taken by 50%. not to mention dual blade relies heavily on their evasion for perm crit.

          • Anonymous
            July 27, 2017 at 10:00 pm

the new thief skill when used in conjunction with the 5th job dark sight is actually great

        • Anonymous
          July 15, 2017 at 12:03 pm

Neh, I think this is a good rebalancing way. After the beyond patch skill update, all thieves job are thrown to the lower tiers while warriors all took up frontier rankings. This is a perfect way to reboot thief’s damage dealing and balance the charts. By the way, u have to reconsider if u think the condition for taking extra 50% dmg and 100% reduction in evade is an easy thing for thieves. Thieves aren’t tanky at all! In which case, the one who should be changed is the bowman obviously. They risk nothing for that free 55% crit damage, which is a huge huge boost. It’s so unfair compared to others. Let’s bring them down!!!!

          • LWZ
            July 16, 2017 at 11:57 am

It is so much better than 55% my friend. It could be more than that! Also most bowmen classes damage are really situational and unreliable (MM is due to Split and Range, Mercedes is just weak and also need to stack damage and some more). So some free damage are good one them.

    • Prominis
      July 13, 2017 at 7:21 pm

The magician one is just as hilarious. Three seconds where you can’t attack but getting hit still depletes your mana like magic guard.

      • seah jeremy
        July 14, 2017 at 1:57 am

it’s 3 secs plus it’s actually better than mag guard cause u only take 3750 mana as damage rather than 80% mana as damage with mag guard. wat anonymous said above it’s a lifesaver.

        • Anonymous
          July 14, 2017 at 2:26 pm

actually, the mage one is just as bad. when would you ever use it–maybe .1% of the time? you can’t even attack while using it.

          • Anonymous
            July 14, 2017 at 11:22 pm

Exactly, some people are saying it as though it’s damn useful, you shouldn’t even be needing this useless mage skill at all if you are very experienced in boss battles!

        • Anonymous
          July 14, 2017 at 11:23 pm

If the player himself is already very experienced in boss battles, he shouldn’t even rely on this stupid skill for survival.

    • Chow
      July 15, 2017 at 2:13 pm

Other jobs skills are trash as well,

1)magician basically become “ghost” and couldn’t do a thing, even teleport!

2)thieves class gain more damage, but become very vulnerable to damage(0% evasion)
Thieves be like:I ONLY LIVE ONCE SO I’M READY TO DIE,MOTHERFUCKERRRR.

3)pirate become buffed at first 30second,and become weak for the next 60seconds.

Be grateful to Nexon, warrior “super stance” might come in handy in boss like Magnus.

well, the only class that buff-ed significantly is archer, with increased critical rate and critical damage.

      • Anonymous
        July 16, 2017 at 1:17 am

Warrior last time can stance all the way. Now need 5th job to buff back for what point. Idiot

      • LWZ
        July 16, 2017 at 12:00 pm

The only thief jobs that will benefit from that new skill are the ones with ultimate dark sight (aka Adventurers thieves). The others meanwhile….

Also increased critical rate is not the main point here, since 100% is still going to be all hits crit anyway. XD The critical damage is the thing here.

As someone that mains a Dit, who cares about evasion? About to be hit? Enter Dark Sight or dodge.

Apparently the warrior skill gives super stance and a damage bonus every time you get hit. The translation on this one is wrong.

I saw you changed the Bowman skill.
Which version of them is right?
The one that gives 55% of ur crit rate or the one that gives 55% of every % above 100%?

      the latter is true.

    • Max

What use does it actually have to boost your Crit Rate above 100% tho. Do you think you can find out?

    • Max
      July 13, 2017 at 8:14 pm

It’s so you get more critical damage from the second effect of the skill. So like if you somehow got 150% critical rate, you’d get 150 * 0.55 = 82.5% extra critical damage.

  8. July 13, 2017 at 8:05 pm

“The maximum number of Crystals and Crystal Ores that can stack in one slot has been increased from 100 to 3000.”

What…? Isn’t it already at 9000? They decreased it?

      July 13, 2017 at 8:56 pm

That was only for regular ores/minerals I believe, not the crystals.

Does it apply to magic powders too?

Nope, no changes to magic powder.

      July 13, 2017 at 10:05 pm

Yep, pretty sure they can, just like they can use both Venom Burst and Loaded Dice.

      • July 13, 2017 at 11:28 pm

critical rate can exceed 100%? what’s the point to have more than 100% critical rate, when you are already guaranteed to hit critical with 100% o.o

    • Lore guy
      July 14, 2017 at 7:56 am

the point is so people can get more than 31% out of the secondary effect

    • LWZ
      July 14, 2017 at 11:30 am

The thing about the skill is to increase your critical rate beyond the max and from there take a percentage of the exceeded critical rate to increase your critical damage.

    • Max
      July 14, 2017 at 9:49 pm

It’s so you get more critical damage from the second effect of the skill. So like if you somehow got 150% critical rate, you’d get 150 * 0.55 = 82.5% extra critical damage.

Ready to Die + Ultimate Dark Sight = OP?

The penalty to evasion rate might as well be nil if you use ultimate dark sight along with it.

Is this what they call skill combo? xD

    • LWZ
      July 14, 2017 at 11:31 am

I guess so….but not all thieves have ultimate dark sight!

      • July 14, 2017 at 9:24 pm

you can simply just buy the nodestone, that’s not so hard is it?

        • Max
          July 14, 2017 at 9:41 pm

Ultimate Dark Sight is only for adventurer thieves, Ready to Die can be used by all thieves. 😛

Isn’t Arrow Rain already preservable with a Buff Freezer? Because at least in GMS it is.

It actually is in KMS too, not sure why they included it on this list.

the new mage skill is the worst skill i ever seem in my life…. u cant attack and during that 3sec sure u can avoid some instant kill but u still lose some mp but w/e …. 4 resistance link skill is 100 x better than this trash 5th job…. reason one last 8 sec vs 3 sec … .reason 2 100% invinciility u cant take any dmg and while that u still take some dmg and u still take status effect too… final reason YOU CANT NOT EVEN ATTACK AT ALL… AND WHILE THE RESISTANCE LINK SKILL U CAN DO FULL ATTACK POWER i wont even touch that horrible 5th job skill… as a mage… it the worst coming off 2nd worst is probably pirate it has a stupid drawback that y it kinda lame too

Some people think its a damn useful skill here LOL. Only people with shitty controls need this skill, not to mention most mages has teleport, which can be used to evade most boss skills.

I’m one of the top warriors of MapleSEA, I think the warrior skill is good. You never tried getting knocked back crazily by Lotus or Damien only to fall into a death skill.

Who cares about Hmag when I can down it in less than 10 seconds =/

In fact I think the mage one sucks, previously they could teleport to save their own lives. What for be ethereal only to not be able to cast any skills?

Same person here, truly the more I look at it, the more excited I am. Level 1 is sufficient, Status Resist isn’t that important since the minimum status time is still 1 second.

The Passive 25 Str is also something sexy. High-funded chars are like 1 str / WA or something.

Just a tip, using rush at the moment lotus pushes negates the push effect

Did the insoya person over do it? he calculated down to lv 50 even though they only go to 25.

      July 16, 2017 at 12:49 pm

Cores have had max level 50 since they came out way back in KMST. But when 5th job was released in KMS, they limited the max level to 25. I guess they still have levels 25~50 in the data lol.

Someone needs to tell them to make some passive skills. I’m already out of hotkeys and I don’t even have all my beyond skills…

  19. July 18, 2017 at 1:52 am

more arcane symbols….Hoo boy…On the other side I am loving these updates like core stones giving nodes only in your class and I like the overdrive and erda shower skills

Do you have more details on the change to experience required to level up V skills? The Insoya link is broken now. Is it a buff or a nerf?

This is the KMST post. The changes weren’t implemented when this patch came to KMS (ver. 1.2.280).
