I guess you guys were right, it seems Magnus is of the Nova race! Plus he’ll be involved in the Kaiser storyline! The Black Mage’s story does not end at the last hero, haha. This is really interesting, will we learn more about him? How about Guwaru, or even the other Black Mage’s commanders? I wonder if Magnus was cast away from the Nova race…

Im lost.. wasnt DS one of the 7 commanders.. that means someone isnt suppose to be in that 7 commanders list.. Guwaru maybe?

Theory: magnus challenged kaiser, but lost (hence the half horn). kaiser then banished him from wherever to maple planet and he joined with the black mage to get revenge
I believe that just like the heroes, Kaiser was level 200. Magnus probably have done a crime, they fought each other, Kaiser won and Magnus joined the black mage, which made him stronger, he then came back and fought Kaiser. In the second battle against Magnus Kaiser lost his powers and came back to level 1/10.

be cool if we get to see an epic animated movie like with Luminous and Black Mage
and has anyone notice Maplestory is becoming more and more big budget as they expand on thier storyline patches like Legends, then Tempest? Soon enough we may have a second anime series that will put the first one to shame.
Would be really cool if their was a decent budgeted anime starring the 5 Heros, Resistance, and the Special Adventurer characters, and ofcourse this new Nova race character.

By the way I’m just semi kiddin around about the Pirates, I couldnt care less, but still I feel the Pirates are being under appreciated by Nexon, and got a big slap in the face with Luminous. I think they could have made a Luminous a pirate and still work with that Light vs Dark theme, and the weapon could have been a cutlass and a special secondary weapon like a pistol, or gaunlet, or whip, or chains. But I digress, sorry if my posts annoys you, I am entitled to free speech. 🙂

I was actually surprised as well there is no Pirate Hero as well, however beside the fact they where 300 years earlier they where probably no Pirates by then. It will make also balance the whole “Weapon Attack” vs. “Magic Attack” economy and there is also a lack of mages besides popular ones like Battle Mage and Evan. I like Jett (Dragon warrior is the same thing) because of the cool Cybernetic theme but I don’t like that they took exactly the SAME skills from the revamped Pirates, That’s why they delayed the whole Revamped Pirates for GMS. No hate speech here my friend, we are not all like that.

Get over about the “pirate hero” thing, obviously there’s no pirate hero at KMS. And since GMS knew that there isn’t going to be any pirate hero, they are so intelligent enough to actually make a JETT to compensate the loss of “pirate hero”
Pirates were not created by valkerie til YEARS after the black mage was defeated that is why pirates have no hero

Yea I agree as well I thought Kaiser was something cheap and fast that KMS had to make in order to fill in to this so called Major update called Tempest.

In this mmo where you have to compete with all dem Hackers, NX hoes, KSers, 5 year old children, and PPL who plays the game with no life but UBER GODLY, and infinite amounts of Smegas and Gachapon stuff, Kaiser and Aran’s combat/combo point using skills just suck.

For the sake of the story having coherence, it would be wrong to have a Pirate Legend. Pirates came to be after the Black Mage got sealed away. Besides, Mages need another class in their corner.

This is off topic but image tht pantheon was the introduction to the maple universe. You click on the world map and it shows the maple world as a planet and pantheon as another planet next to it. As time goes by nexon will add more planets to go to—

Here is my idea of the story. The people from that place of Nova, w/e it’s called, were a quite society. They stayed away from the outside world and praised the supreme beings called the Dragon Lords. To protect these dragon lords special warriors were trained (the Nova race). They all got gifted with the power of one of the supreme dragons. Then, there was one Nova person thingy, that went rouge. He heard of the great power that was the Black Mage, and seeing how he, Magnus, also wanted power, he decided to join the Black Mage and try to conquer the world with him, and he became a Black Mage General. Since Magnus is so power hunger, he doesn’t care who he has to take out to gain more power. Even if that means taking out Guwaru (another Black Mage general). Now, he is fighting against his own people (Nova), because he now works for the Black Mage, and Nova is trying to stop him…
… so much for “evil” jobs

So Magnus is a new boss. Which was obvious once the new class was revealed to be Kaiser. Apparently, though, the battle will take place in the new area which can be seen in the background.
Seems like it’ll be a Kaiser exclusive, though. Which effectively makes it crap, since Kaiser will soon be nerfed and thrown out with the trash. Unless Nexon introduces PERMANENT new content, I stand unimpressed. Is it really so hard to, you know, not make new content event based? The direction they’ve taken Maple, I absolutely hate it. It’s pure gambling and events now, and that’s terrible. There’s no longer the sense of stability the game used to have, where your class wouldn’t suddenly suck/disappear. Equipment didn’t have a larger influence on damage than the class’s abilities. And the gap between the lucky gamblers and the everymapler wasn’t huge.
This bipolar MapleStory needs to change. Same new content, but with the old ADD IT PERMANENTLY attitude.

Magnus is just Latin for “great”, and is quite frequently used.
