Inkwell’s Secret Diary & kMSt ver. 1.2.441 – Kaiser Tutorial, New Potential, and Angelic Burster!

Another diary entry about the new Nova pirate! It’s some more concept art. The dragon weapon certainly looks awesome, I wonder what it can do? Maybe it’s like a Mega Buster, haha. It also says that the wings will be slightly transparent. It’s possible that the bracelet/glove on her other hand could be her secondary weapon.
Kaiser is set to release in MapleStory in two days~ Will this new class come in the fourth Tempest update?
In this patch, new quests for Kaiser were added, including his tutorial! Here’s a video (thanks to XsteamingCerx for the video, I’ll upload mine tomorrow or something)~ There’s a video missing, I guess they’ll add it in when it comes to kMS.
Oh yeah, they increased the maximum number character of slots to 18!
Kaiser also got its own equipment slot, the Emblem. It’s separate from the Dragon Soul that he uses as well! It can have potential, and weapon potential at that! That means Kaiser has not two but THREE equipment that can have weapon potential!
P.S. It says its for those of the Nova race, and a couple were added in the data for the Nova pirate!
EDIT: Emblems have been patched to no longer have weapon potential, haha. Guess they realized it was a bit OP.
In addition, a new type of potential has been added! It is called Additional Potential. On unidentified items, sometimes they will come with this Additional Potential. It is separate from regular potential, has its own ranks (Rare, Epic, Unique, Legendary), and its own cube. The stat above is 1 attack per level.
So I guess it’s sort of like Nebulites from GMS, haha.
EDIT: They are scheduled to ‘fix’ the stat per level options available from Additional Potential.

She’s the Nova pirate class, Angelic Burster! Hmm… with a name like that I wonder what type of skills she’ll use. I think that they should’ve chosen some better colours for her outfit.

Like I said in my last post, a new weapon type and secondary weapon for pirates was added, not to mention the 65XX job ID codes which point to a Nova pirate.

IMO I see a dragon-type arm cannon and pirates are known to use cannons and that’s good enough for me to assume it is a pirate.

It’s a new weapon, not a claw nor a knuckle. The Job ID points to a pirate. Just because it LOOKS like a claw, doesn’t mean it IS one.
LF > MORE classes that will all hopefully be released all at one time. So we wont just have a sea of a certain class in periods.

Mmm interesting… Nexon is going for that AAA MMORPG by taking it beyond the Black Mage
Shouldn’t they be focusing on the balance of existing classes as opposed to creating new ones to hassle with? I understand breaking the monotony and introducing new playstyles to keep the game interesting, but when new classes are introduced this quickly together, it runs the risk of upstaging the previous recent releases… (Luminous, who was upstaged by Kaiser, who is now being upstaged by this new class)
Can we please slow it down a bit on all these new classes? How about a new town or area completely independant of any class? (Aqua Road, KFT, etc were example of this in my opinion)
Resistance released 3 classes and mechs may have upstages the other two but they didnt suffer. Legends event also released 3 classes and cannoneer was only upstage by the other two who co-existed. Renegade had phantom & jett and i dont think one upstaged the other. Im sure this patch will be find.

I agree that Nexon is releasing jobs too quickly, but I don’t think jobs are really “upstaging” one another. It’s more like people see new content and immediately bandwagon it. It’s just the natural course of the player-base, we’re drawn to new, shiny things. I hope for the Nova branch, they make all 5 classes and release them together. It seems like a better plan since players will have a choice as we did with the Resistance and Adventurer branches. I don’t mind if the Nova classes are pushed back to the end of Tempest, I would rather see a full branch than releasing jobs one by one.

That was my point entirely. If you’re to release these new classes one by one, at least give them the time to enjoy being the most recent for a while. New classes are being buried as quickly as they’re created. (I’m looking at you, Mihile)
You can’t bandwagon a new class. It’s a thing called the human nature of curiosity. It’s only natural to want to try out something that’s new and unexplored. Bandwagoning involves outside influence.

Bloody Hell… 3 weapons? They should give each job 2 weapons at least, all jobs before cannon shooter have only 1 weapon ( exception of Dual Bladers, Mechanics ).

max isnt that a bit over powering 1 attack per level? that would be 200 att per level at max level that almost equal to a weapon attack…. there must be some mistake

Well it is the same by adding an additional line of potential but it’s bonuses are different… So I could see us getting this also. Only way is to wait and see I guess.

eh, not that it matters, within 10min the average player will have junked it and gone on to the usual fugly pirate outfits, possibly covered up by cash shop rainbow pimp gear. *shrug*
so they boosted the slot limit by 3… whoa, holy mostly-empty-selectionpage, batman. too bad that there’s what, around 30 classes coded in thus far? with the character card system around to encourage alt-itis it seems like they need to jack up the limit more than that.
