This is the first of two Inkwell’s Secret Diary entries. What could it be… isn’t that… Aran? The third skill definitely has Maha in it, and the first skill, that could be the bird that is featured in the Aran art (but never anywhere else, haha). Maybe this is leading towards an Aran reorganization?
The other entry is actually a Special Inkwell’s Secret Diary entry, sent only to those in Maple Club Henesys (which I was sadly not accepted into…). This is the second one, the first being the one with the picture of Magnus.
This time we see a new character, with a tail and wings! My favourite is number 3 (4 is a close second), what’s yours? Could this be the next Nova race? We know there is a job ID in the data that points to a pirate. That dragon claw knuckle thing looks really cool, and it is actually a new weapon!
In his extractions, Fiel found this, in an entirely new weapon type. I think it sort of looks like the one shown above, except less awesome, haha. It is for a pirate and there was also a new secondary weapon added for pirates as well. I wonder if this new job will be released within the Tempest update~
Skill Changes
- Final Figuration (3rd job): During Final Figuration, Will of Sword’s damage has been decreased from 500% to 300%, number of hits has been increased from 3 to 4
- Petrified (3rd job): number of monsters hit has been decreased from 8 to 6
- Advanced Will of Sword (4th job): damage has been decreased from 500% to 400%, number of hits has been decreased from 5 to 4
- Nova Hero (4th job): duration has been increased from 240 seconds to 900 seconds
- Gigaslasher (4th job): name has been changed to Giga Slasher
- Final Figuration (4th job): During Final Figuration, Advanced Will of Sword’s damage has been decreased from 500% to 400%, number of hits has been decreased from 7 to 5

Hopefully they’ll add in one pirate hero that also helped to slain the black mage (an exception to M.A.P.L.E, but who knows? haha)
Maybe they’ll have ten, to spell out MAPLESTORY… Two of each, like the way there are two mages currently.

no they probably won’t that’d be cool but it wouldn’t make any sense considering the fact that every class in maplestory has either 4 or 5 job options 5 explorers (excluding dual blade, cannoneer, jett, dragon warrior) 5 cygnus knights( excluding mikhail) 4 resistance(including demon slayer) and now they finally have all 5 heroes and as i remember correctly they said at the beginning of aran’s story that there were 5 heroes not 10 so maybe they’s just do something else
yea but not only 5 battled the black mage, arans story line failed to mention anything about the demon slayer and he battled the black mage pretty much at the same time the others went in and sealed him up. Im not saying there could be 5 heroes who also helped fight the black mage who are not even mentioned in the game so far but maybe there are 5 more who had an influence on the battle or who fought the other commanders. Or maybe there were 5 more who fought in the mysterious war that happened 300 years ago thats mentioned in Phantoms story line? who knows what nexon will come up with next
Perhaps 5 heroes in the first battle against the black mage but 10 heroes in the final battle soon to come against the black mage?
actually i always thought there were going to be 5 explorer sub classes (dual blade, cannoneer) but i saw other people talking about how there are supposed to be 3 adventurer classes and it makes more sense (thieves only have 2 classes(shad and NL) so they get DB, pirates only have 2 so they get cannoneer, archers only have 2 so sooner or later theres going to be a archer subclass) and right now were missing archer explorer, thief resistance, irena hawkeye eckhart oz, and nova archer theif mage (they’re making a nova pirate right now right?) and the 10 heros(maplestory) seems pretty plausible cuz maybe there will be 5 new heros along with the ancient heros, maybe even double ancient heros . but i think the new job is nova cuz of the horns

Stop it with the “maplestory” hero theory already. Why would they have 2 of each if pirates never even existed when they fought the Black Mage? You guys really need to learn the story more.
When the pirates came out to maplestory that said that they came back so probably they did exist after all I don’t think that there will be 5 more heros and I don’t think it’s a pirate nova class but a thief class the weapon looks like a claw

I don’t think it’s a good idea to say that with too much certainty. If I remember correctly, there WERE hero ID’s that haven’t been made yet.

Thats impossible. There were only 5 heros (4 classes) and the pirates came into existance after the fight with the Black Mage. If you played though Ellin forest, *****SPOILER****** you’ll know that Yuris is the mother of Kyrin (aka. The pirate instructor). Yuris was one of the refugees in the camp.

Realistically, it could be something like -10% damage taken from enemies. Or maybe something like +5% damage XD
Granting Aran that sort of Link skill (the 10% reduction) makes next to no sense. It doesn’t flow with Aran’s style. He’s centered around unrelenting offense. And the 5% damage increase would be broken, otherwise it would have been on Demon Slayer.
10% dmg intake reduction fits with combo barrier, 5% dmg increase is OP, 5% critrate increase is possible, 1 tier weapon attack speed (take it from mastery) increase would be nice but perhaps OP…
Frankly, the link skill system is broken from the start, judging Nexon’s MOAR NEW CLASSES politics.
It fits with a skill, not with the overall flow. Besides, Aran already has HP leech, so he doesn’t really need it. If they’re going to make a Link Skill like that, it’ll be on a new class. The Crit Rate won’t happen since Phantom already has it, and they won’t create a redundancy in Link Skills. My Dark Knight would have 50% Crit Rate (this won’t even be counting classes that already have 45%+ Crit Rate already without any Links), which is ridiculous. But most realistically, there won’t be a Link Skill for Aran, period.

Maybe nexon released the skill animation to see what people would comment so they can decide if they should make the 5th job and if they should change the skills up a little to best suit what people say they want. Just a speculation. What do you think Max?

3rd job looks nice. This might be Aran’s 5th job perhaps…but it definitely looks like a new part of the Nova race. That “Dragon claw-knuckle thing” looks really weird too. Doesn’t resemble anything, lol.

I’ll bet the farm that Aran won’t get 5th job before the sub-faction that deserves it most. *ahem* Adventurers.
Nexon always gives adventurers the short end of the stick, and I think I know why. Theres only one thing the original adventurers have that no other class has. Know what it is? They share NX. Yes, it is because they would make less money off of a bandwagoned adventurer than any other bandwagoned class. They don’t want people being able to just transfer their perma pets, perma outfits, and other perma nx stuff over from an older adventurer, but rather force them to buy more nx. In nexon’s eyes, the ones that make them the most money are the ones that are worthy of being any good, and Adventurers wouldn’t make them any more money if they DIDN’T share lockers, and they make slightly less money off of them due to the reduced profits caused by them sharing lockers, means that making adventurers op would defeat the goal of ANY company: to maximize profits, so, if the adventurers get thier 5th job 1st and become the new op class, then at least one other job will soon follow and be even MORE op, followed by the other 30 classes.
It seems to me that you’re blowing Nexon’s seeking of money out of proportion. Yes, they’re always looking to increase profits, but they’re not THAT greedy so much that they’ll completely throw the majority of classes under the bus. They’ll still grant the eventually inevitable 5th Job Advancement to Adventurers first, or everyone at once.
Why do adventures deserve it first? Technically explorers got their 4th job a few years ago. The heros had it for hundreds of years. Just because they were made first doesn’t mean they deserve it. Phantom steals skills doesn’t mean he deserves to be able to steal every skill in the game.

Agreed man. The 1st is somewhat plain and looks like Evan-Female hair. The second looks like she got a pair of extra horns but even if it is favorite it would be covered up by the helmets anyway so that sucks. The fourth choice looks like she has some messed up growing hair disorder making more hair grow on one side O3O. So the best would be the 3rd choice. It wouldn’t be bad to have a Hatsune Miku hairstyle in the game now does it?

I made it to 120 on my aran and was so mad that i didnt get combo tempest or I think its called final blow. But now that there are hints of a reorganization to arans I finally have a reason to keep playing it.

Well the purple bird is the same color as combo fenrir, the orange tiger is the same color as combo smash, and the two ice polearms are the same icy blue as most of Arans other moves. They could be replacement combo moves if it is another reorganization. Honestly though I would rather have them be moves for a fifth job.
the 3 prong attack seems like poison breath, follow by fire element, last by ice element. according to storyline, maha only assist the polearm owner and there’s only 1 owner – aran.
if nexon decide to create maha assisting a new class, that woudld suck.

To me if the animation shown above is the revamped Aran I would say that bird is Combo Smash, the Tiger is Combo Fenrir , and the last one with the two pole arms I would say Combo Judgement. If so, I don’t like the bird and tiger because i like the wolves better.~~ ~~

Tempest is supposed to be bigger than big bang. 3 new classes and a new place isnt even close to being better than big bang’s update. so, pretty sure there will be a either 5th job or total class re-balanced. 🙂

I am a bit excited about the new pirate type weapon. I am going to make an educated guess and say that it’s a shin guard. Maybe this new pirate class is going to focus on kicking? Think about it, Buccaneers/Vipers are punchers.. They use Fist Enraged, Corkscrew Blow, Energy Burst, Double Spiral, etc.. Just an thought.

My thoughts:
So the bird animation on this new attack of Aran’s means that Aran may get a new revamp. The bird is seen perched on female Aran’s shoulder.
I hope they redo the storyline on Aran because there are WAY TOO MANY INCONSISTENCIES with the lore. Like on the picture where Aran with the other 4 heroes, it was depicted that there was a sword/shield character (in MS, there isn’t a hero character like that), a bowman (Mercedes uses dual bow guns, not a regular bow).
As much as I agree with you, that image is a number of years old, and the plan has changed since. It’s a shame when it comes to the lore, but at this point, it can’t be helped.
Hey max, iirc, that bird also appeared in Big Bang promotional video, hovering over one of the resistance members in the part with all the resistance art on the left, with battle mage in front, and all the black wings execs and the black mage art on the right, so it didn’t appear NOWHERE else, I clearly remember spadow taking note of the white bird from the aran art in that vid when he posted about it, which I noticed too.
All i have to say is those animations r super fking huge.. lool

that’s because when aran first came out they hadn’t fully made the story for the heroes mercedes wasn’t even originally going to use dual bowguns as you can tell by aran’s story they were stuck for ideas that’s probably why they kept improvising all the new classes
right! exactly my point! things can change, like the possibility of there being more than just 5 heroes. sure maybe only 5 heroes (and demon slayer) battled the black mage himself, but that doesnt mean there cant be more heroes who may have helped in a different way or who helped maple world with a different problem

Evan = uhh idk… Lotus or Guwaru maybe…

Demon Slayer = Arkyrium

Orca is Orchid. Orchid and Lotus are twins. Mercedes and Phantom story clarify this.

It IS a nice way to think but I highly doubt that is the case. Why would Kaiser, a character released after Luminous(iirc) be involved with the Black Mage conflict? The story ends with Luminous sealing the Black Mage. It is highly unnecessary to add other random conflicts inbetween, unless things seem incomplete. The story of the heroes as quite at a close already, it seems. There’s no need for a new random person to fly up and destroy the already-established story.

Im pretty sure that bird in the animation is the bird in the picture max showed us. If you notice, both birds have something on their head. But, I just don’t understand the tiger? Thats more of a wild hunter thing
Tiger.. wind hunter? Nonono. Wild hunters use Jaguars, not tigers. Tigers don’t relate to Wild Hunters in any way. The only class that has used a tiger thus far is a Crusader(Shout). Though Crusaders don’t use pole arms. We’ll just have to wait and see what surprise Nexon holds for us next.
