kMS ver. 1.2.214 – Cygnus Returns: Night Walker!

1.2.214 World Selection

The final Cygnus Returns patch has been released, with the new Night Walker. This patch also includes the updated Mushroom Castle theme dungeon!

I really hoped that they would add something to make this horrible anniversary better but I guess not 😦

Most Beautiful Smiling Face

Mushroom Castle has been updated to season 2! After the Pepe King’s defeat, peace has returned to the Mushroom Kingdom. However, now Princess Violetta has become expressionless. The Mushking has declared whoever can make her laugh will marry Violeta and inherit the throne of the Mushroom Kingdom!

Maple warriors! Return to Mushroom Castle and help Violeta smile once more!

Mushroom Castle Location

Mushroom Castle is the first theme dungeon to be reopened after a large amount of areas were closed off in the You & I patch. It has a completely new story, quests, and uses a variety of animations/systems that have not been used elsewhere.

Mushroom Castle Map

Mushroom Castle is now for characters level 60 and over. You can access it through the Blue Mushroom Forest 2 map, or use the Mushking’s Invitation quest.

Chandelier Mushroom Iron Armor Mushroom Lazy Viking Tired Viking Nice Viking Relaxed Viking Serious Viking Solemn Viking Viking Squad Squid Guard Black Viking

There is even a new set of monsters, with a viking ship area expansion.

Rolls-Royce Gamma and Omega Minus Kopa Anna

The new NPCs are hilarious, Rolls-Royce, Gamma and Omega, Minus, the dreaded Kopa (King?), there’s even one based off on Anna!

This theme dungeon is so funny, I am definitely calling it the best one to date. It starts off with them trying to cheer up Violetta, they used (a parody of) the MapleStory song some dude sang on Youtube hahaha. And the Black Viking (who they mistake for the Black Mage at first) is also hilarious!

Thanks to Zelkova for the video~

She's Too Heavy for Me and Violetta's Guardian Knight

The rewards include the She’s Too Heavy for Me cape (which gives 5 speed and has 5 slots), and the Violeta’s Guardian Knight medal which gives 2 all stats and 300 HP and MP.

Mushroom Castle Season 2

Until May 28, there’s an event where you can get 150 11th Anniversary Coins if you complete the new Mushroom Castle quests (once per Maple ID).

Strong Throwing Skills

The last of the Cygnus Knights has finally been revamped, the new Night Walker is now available! With powerful new throwing skills, they are a force to be reckoned with.

Shadow Bats Effect

With their new skill Shadow Bats, attacking quickly will allow your Bats to hit a large amount of enemies!

11th Anniversary Bonus Developer's Helping Hand

The 11th Anniversary Bonus: Developer’s Helping Hand event has begun and will run until May 28. It’s basically an attempt to fix the crappy anniversary but it’s still bad…

11th Anniversary Armor

11th Anniversary armor can now be bought in the coin shop. Before you could only get it by chance from the 11th Anniversary Festival.

Monsters will also now drop the 11th Anniversary Armor Box which will give you one of the five equipment.

11th Anniversary Coins

In terms of coins, 11th Anniversary Celebration Boxes now give 2 Coins instead of 1 (but there is a daily limit of 50, increased from 40). You now only have to trade in 100 Maple Leaves for 1 coin instead of 200, which was a dumb thing to do in the first place…

Well, considering that NW has quintuple throw while NL only has quadruple throw, I would say that it is stronger. Also, NW has the level 150 hyper skill that gives it 3 shadow clones which probably adds a decent amount of damage too (eventhough it only lasts 30 seconds).

Now only 1 update til this year’s Tier One (Summer) update! But the fact that they haven’t even HINTED at it, its name, or its primary theme worries me. Usually, it’ll be an inkwell’s diary. Therefore, I am fairly certain that they are not ready to implement Fifth Job, or even open it for testing. If DEVELOPING it takes well over a year, then it’ll need to be in KMST for a while. Come on, man! I want to see my main man, Evan’s new skills! And my OTHER main man, zero!

I CAN’T WAIT TIL WINTER TO SEE 5TH JOB’S SKILL’S, I CAN BARELY STAND THE THOUGHT OF WAITING TIL THEN TO actually PLAY THEM, OR UNTIL NEXT MONTH TO SEE THEM!

I cannot die happy until I see them! They’ve had a YEAR, and we don’t even have a TENTATIVE expected release! If they don’t want to seal the game’s fate, they need to 1. Finish 5th job ASAP, and 2. It NEEDS to be even MORE OP’d then their 4th jobs than 4th job made classes compared to their 3rd jobs. Which is CRUCIAL to reduce the p2w aspect to levels that DON’T make nexon seem like it is stupider than anyone coud have imagined! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD THINK THAT THE CONSUMERS WOULD actually LIKE HAVING THE DAMAGE CAP RAISED TO 50M WHEN THEY ARE SCALING EXISTING CONTENT TO ACCOMMADATE THE CAP INSTEAD OF RELEASING NEW BOSSSES THAT DEFY OUR FORMER IMAGINING OF POWER! The fudge, KMS?! Why would we WANT to have to pay ludicrous amounts of $$ JUST to kill bosses which we could potentially have done with MINIMAL funding before? WHY would ANYONE want to have to SUDDENLY put in 10x the time, energy, and MONEY they have already had to beat a boss who we had until recenly had enough power to kill it with EASE? come on, how is “more” damage something players would WANT? The cap changes NOTHING gameplay wise, since the bosses scaled WITH it! We don’t want to be able to be capable of 50x power? I mean, scaling it COULD work, if rewards had been enhanced (kinda were, but only in KMS), and if they had added a new F2P system, that took a bit of work, but could EASILY compensate for that power curve.

Nexon has been really failing to deliver since Maple Story 2 entered development. How do they expect us to believe that they will be able to upkeep Maple Story after 2 comes out.

MS2 is being developed by a different team at a different office. The lack of updates probably mean they are working on a major summer update. RED and You & I was absolutely awesome and listened greatly to feedback, so probably now something even bigger is coming.

Why do they do their best to improve Cygnus class? They should revamp original Explorers, the main essence of the game… 😦

We just got an enormous explorer revamp a few months ago with RED. We really don’t need another one.

        Yeah. TOTALLY revamped.
        *cough* sarcasm
Well they only just got a few new skills and removed a few old ones…
Plus, I still don’t like explorers.
I think it is good that they revamp Cygnus.
The restriction of Lv.120 was kinda bad.
But if you think about it this way, the new NW isn’t half as good as NL for mobbing.

A lot of people were disappointed with the Night Walker revamp but it doesn’t look half bad in my opinion.

The night walker skills look like they’re intended to waste a lot of shuricans. I Pity prople eho try to play them without starting at 120….

Can Night Walker max all their skills except Triple Throw and Quad Throw where they leave it at level 19? And does Shadow Jump already have an SP into it after advancing to 1st job Night Walker?

shadow jump does not have 1 sp in it when you reach first night lord because when you make a KOC you already have a sort of flash jump

Helloo, I’ve been wondering if the Shadow Jump skill allows you to throw stars faster while using just the regular default jump. I was looking at the southperry extractions and I saw that Shadow Jump has avaliableInJumpingState = 1 on its info type or whatever.
Then I saw that both Shadow Jump and Rapid Evasion both have casterMove = 1 and I assume it allows you to throw stars during the actual animation.

Now my real question is, for Shadow Jump, does avaliableInJumpingState = 1 mean the regular jump? I don’t have an account for southperry, so I can’t ask.
