MapleStory Pop-Up Store: Maple Store!

Maple Store

This post isn’t about a patch or update or anything, but something I thought was really cool that is happening in Korea. Nexon has opened a pop-up store for MapleStory! It’s called Maple Store and like other pop-up stores, it is only open for 3 months. They sell a lot of cute products!

I swear if I could go, I’d buy one of everything…

Maple Store (2) Maple Store (3)

The store sells both MapleStory and MapleStory 2 merchandise, ranging from cushions to posters.

Maple Store Cafe

There’s even a small cafe inside, so you can drink a nice latte while giving Nexon full control over your wallet.

Sadly that giant Orange Mushroom cushion is not for sale. I’ll list all the things they’re selling now. For reference, 1000 Won is about 1 dollar, if you wanted to convert.

The images below which say Insoya.com in the top-left corner are (obviously) from Insoya and I’ll use them because I can’t go myself, so thanks to them! You can see some more pictures which I didn’t use on these pages: 1 2 3

First of all, they’re selling cushions of the Ducky and Devlin from MapleStory 2 and the Ribbon Pig, Orange Mushroom, Slime, Yeti, and Pink Bean from MapleStory! They cost 24,000 Won each.

There’s also mini cushions, for the same characters, they cost 9,000 Won.

Next are these mug cups, sold for 13,000 Won.

Cup CoastersDevlin Cup Coaster

To match your mugs, you can get cup coasters featuring the same characters for 7,000 Won.

MousepadsPink Bean Mousepad

Mousepads are sold for 4,000 Won each. Instead of Devlin and Ribbon Pig, they included King Slime and Ovis from MapleStory 2.

PVC Stickers

There’s a set of 10 PVC stickers for sale, for 5,700 Won. They’re a bit thicker than regular stickers and feature designs from in-game as well as some character posters and King Slime.

Postcards

Postcards (Back)

There’s a bunch of postcards for 1,700 Won each. They use the poster designs that were shown previous to MapleStory 2’s release, and include some new ones such as Ovis, Mika, Mint, Bella, Yeti, and Pink Bean.

Some of the captions are a bit weird though haha, “Don’t smell her hair”?

Eco BagsEco Bag

You can get a camouflage eco-bag to carry all your other purchases in for 20,000 Won.

Framed PostersMounted Posters

If you liked the postcards but wanted bigger versions, these framed posters are for you. They use the same design but are poster size and come with a nice frame, for 27,000 Won.

NotebooksOpen Notebooks

To show off at school, you can get these cute notebooks for 11,000 Won.

Figures

Finally, the most expensive items in the inventory are these figures which are sold for 80,000 Won each! They feature Bella, Bella (BLACK ver.), Mika, and Mika (BLUE ver.).

They look really cute! And I think you might be able to mix and match the bottom cubes?

The iTCG actually did make it overseas. They didn’t have the same items available. I think they only made it up to season 2 before they were canned though. They had the spindle NPC, advertising it, as well as mapletips doing so too. Instead of having things like the growth weapons, SCGs C ilbis and other, you simply got buff items when you redeemed a code. It’d give you a slip (etc item ticket) that you could bring to spindle in omega sector, and he would give you various pills, and I think there was a chance he could give you something better but I only managed to get a few code cards back in the day when I imported maplestory DS to get the code for that. Neither was really worth it.

He was actually questioning whether iTCG ever happened in Korea, not whether it happened overseas.

        Which is a good question

That’s what I meant. Overseas as in Korea, And again, yes, it made it over. Also, I mentioned maplestory DS and my importing of it. That game only ever came out in Korea and Japan, and it only contained an item voucher for KMS.

I don’t know where you live but to most people here I would assume overseas includes Korea.

Korea is where the TCG came from haha. It was released in 2007 (https://namu.wiki/w/%EB%A9%94%EC%9D%B4%ED%94%8C%EC%8A%A4%ED%86%A0%EB%A6%AC%20iTCG) but I don’t think it included the iTCG equipment/items that GMS had. If you google 메이플스토리 iTCG you’ll get a lot of results.

I mean if someone was big in gaming, would they have ever known about MS? Seems pretty popular, but I don’t know how popular other games are in Korea. Where I live, almost no one knows of MS… 😦 wish there was more am merch.

On Naver’s online game rankings (Naver is like Korea’s Google), MapleStory is ranked 5th after Dungeon and Fighter, Sudden Attack, FIFA Online 3, and Icarus. So it’s still very popular!

What? Shouldn’t League of Legends always rank 1st in Korea?

I thought that too, but maybe it’s MMO only rankings?
