V Matrix Enhancement Preview

When enhancing Cores with other already enhanced Cores, you will no longer lose a portion of the other Cores’ experience.

Arcane Catalyst

You can use an Arcane Catalyst to move Arcane Symbols to other characters in the same world.

  • An Arcane Catalyst can be used on an Arcane Symbol to change it to an unstable state.

As soon as it is returned to its normal state, you can level it up to however much it can reach with its reduced experience (you still have to pay all those meso costs too).

New High Lef Job: Ark

Ark Character Creation.png

Ark, a member of Grandis’ High Lef race, was drawn into a despicable scheme, resulting in half of his body becoming a Spectre. While wandering in the abyss, he awoke with lost memories, and now struggles with finding his true identity in this chaotic situation.

Ark is a pirate class. He can freely switch between two states: the Lef mode where he combines magic and classic High Lef fighting techniques and the Looming Spectre mode where he gains immense power from the abyss.

Ark has a special UI that consists of two parts. It will probably make a little more sense after you read all of the skills so you might want to do that first.

On the top is your willpower gauge. It will slowly fill up over time. If it’s filled (any amount, it could be even a small bit of red) you can use Looming Control to enter Looming Spectre mode! The duration of the mode depends on how filled the gauge is, if its completely full it lasts about 1 minute.

(Note: this is a bit different in 1st job because you don’t get to choose when to transform, it just happens randomly. But that’s only 20 levels so it doesn’t really matter.)

While in Looming Spectre mode, the willpower gauge will slowly be consumed. When Looming Spectre mode is about to end, you’ll receive a message and red outline on your screen. After you return to Lef mode, your willpower will be completely exhausted for 30 seconds. During this time, your willpower will not recover. After 30 seconds pass, it start to fill up again once more.

I’m not sure if this is a glitch or not but if you use Looming Control to manually change back to Lef mode, there’s no 30 second cooldown. So you can just use it right before you would change back to Lef mode and you’ll instantly start recovering willpower instead of having to wait.

Charged Spells

On the bottom part of the UI, there are 5 slots. This is where your Charge Spells are stored. Every time you use a Charge Spell, one of these will be filled up. You can only charge 1 spell of each type except for the Plain Charge Spell (which has no limit).

When you use Spell Bullet, all of your currently charged spells will be consumed and they will activate special attacks based on the type as well as give you different buffs for 30 seconds.

Job Advancement (Ark(

Ark’s tutorial story, maps, skill sounds, and 5th job advancement will be added at a later date.

Ark’s Maple Union effect is 10/20/40/80/100 STR.

When creating Ark, you will have the Barbed Lef Hair and Ark Face. The only choice you have is hair colour.

Ark uses Knuckles as a weapon and the new Pass of Abyss as a secondary weapon. He also has two new Emblems.

  • Initial Pass (Lv. 10)
  • Secondary Pass (Lv. 30)
  • Holy Pass (Lv. 60)
  • Advance Pass (Lv. 100)
  • Black Pass (Lv. 100)

how high past the cap can nodes skills be increased?

    • Max
      December 15, 2017 at 1:31 am

Maximum of +10 over the cap because each V Core Slot can only be upgraded to +10 and you can only have 1 Core of a skill equipped.

      • Ryan
        December 15, 2017 at 3:29 am

Is there a certain cap on how many “matrix points” you can get? Or do you get enough to upgrade every available node slot?

        • Anonymous
          December 15, 2017 at 4:45 am

1 per level past 200, so 50 points total

          • Ryan
            December 15, 2017 at 11:22 am

Ahh, thanks. Must have skimmed past it when i was reading them.

        • Max
          December 15, 2017 at 3:04 pm

1 per level from 200 to 250 so you get a total of 50.

Oh my, so Will is the strongest commander of all? Lucid is already crazy hard, now they came up with Will man.. What about new 5th job skills Max? Are they coming out with this patch? Are they the last 5th job skills since it’s the prelude to the end of Arcane River?

    • Max
      December 15, 2017 at 3:03 pm

No mention of any new 5th job skills in the teaser video so we probably won’t be getting any this update.

    • Anonymous
      December 18, 2017 at 10:23 pm

Lucid created an area, but Will created a mirror world, so I guess he is way stronger?

When they say “For Enhancement Cores, only the main skill will receive the effects.” Does that mean the order of the skill in the nodes now actually matter? If that is the case, I am going to have to remake mine…

    • Endlesstory
      December 15, 2017 at 5:20 am

Yes… the main skill is the first skill. But the order of the second and third does not matter.
Anyway, I also have to remake mine…😂

    • Max
      December 15, 2017 at 3:05 pm

Yes, only the primary skill of the core will get boosted by the upgraded core slot.

  5. December 15, 2017 at 4:02 am

Max, the dream breaker extra coins

    Clear floor 3/13/23 for 5 additional coins = 15
    Clear floor 4/5/14/15/24/25 for 4 additional coins = 24
    Clear floor 6/16/26 for 3 additional coins = 9
    Clear floor 7/8/17/18/27/28 for 2 additional coins = 12
    Clear floor 9/19/29 for 1 additional coin = 3

63 total coins if u clear anything above 30? does auto clear and saved record work for that or we have to do 1-30?

    • Max
      December 15, 2017 at 6:52 pm

Can’t test it out atm because there’s no top Dream Breaker NPCs yet in KMST 😦

  6. LWZ
    December 15, 2017 at 11:29 am

Max, so the current enhancement cores max level is….? I think it might be possible to go beyond 60. Does that mean if I can get level 70 (assuming I have two cores of the main skill for level 25, and both slots holds 10 V Matrix points), the 20% boss damage effect will appear? Or the cap is now only level 60?

    Thanks!

    • Anonymous
      December 15, 2017 at 11:46 am

you can only have one of each main skill, aswel the 2nd and 3rd dont get the effect

      • LWZ
        December 15, 2017 at 12:40 pm

I know that only the main skill will get, the other 2 skills will not get. I think an example will be clearer for you:

Say that I have 2 level 25 Sniping Enhancement Core (I am a MM main), both are in the V Matrix Slots with both the slots are having 10 V Matrix Points. So effectively both cores will now be level 35. So what I am asking now is, is level 70 now possible with the 20% Boss Damage effect coming in (it is in the extractions according to some extractors, but I am lazy to find the source of quote in Facebook), or there is a cap imposed on level 60 (just like currently the cap is level 50)?

        Thank you! 🙂

        • Ojama
          December 15, 2017 at 12:50 pm

It only effect the first Enhancement core. So won’t matter if you got Snipe in like 5 and lvl them all up to 60. It will only affect the one where Snipe is the first spot of the trio core

          • Ojama
            December 15, 2017 at 12:51 pm

in short 60 the max you can get atm no way to increase it any higher

        • December 15, 2017 at 1:48 pm

you can’t equip 2 boost nodes with the same primary skill

          • LWZ
            December 15, 2017 at 2:10 pm

^This is the answer I want. Somehow I feel that I forgot about this…..thank you! 🙂

        December 17, 2017 at 3:08 pm

well they also didnt mention the 5th job skills for ark yet, wich will come out later ofc, acording to cadena when she got her 5th job skills we got ours, there might be a small chance that we still get new skills

Has there been any word about looming spectre and buff duration affecting it?

    • Max
      December 16, 2017 at 9:40 am

I don’t think it does because there’s no buff icon in the top right of the corner so it’s probably not a regular type of buff.

Nope, KMS doesn’t have that. Your best bet will probably be waiting for the winter event shop since it might have one.

    December 16, 2017 at 8:29 am

It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited for an update. The new job looks fun, unlike the last three. Being able to level V skills just by leveling up your character is finally starting to make V feel like a proper advancement, even if it is just 10 levels per skill. Dailies being slightly more tolerable is going to make post-200 progression less tedious. Now if only they could add more ways to get Core Gemstones besides farming for hundreds of hours.

    • Max

Yep, he shares CS with Illium since they’re both Lef races!

  20. January 4, 2018 at 2:31 am

Hi, for the Arcane Catalyst you mentioned “To return an Arcane Symbol, the character must have completed the quest to acquire that Arcane Symbol, and cannot be holding or equipping the same one.”

Does it mean that if I have a, for example, lv 3 Arcane Symbol on character B and I wish to transfer a lv 15 one from A to B it is not possible? Thanks!

    • Max
      January 4, 2018 at 12:05 pm

Correct! This system is meant for users who are switching mains, not to level up other characters’ Symbols faster. You’d have to drop the level 3 Symbol first if you wanted to move over the level 15 one.

      • January 4, 2018 at 12:18 pm

Ohhh so if I understand correctly, it means that if I intend to switch mains from A to B and this catalyst system isn’t out yet, I’ll have to get rid of B’s symbol before transferring A’s over :O Thanks Max!
