MapleStory’s Winter Update: MapleStory Ark!
The Winter update’s title has been revealed: MapleStory Ark! The subtitle at the top says the prelude of chaos…
It is split into three parts: V Care on December 21, Ark on January 4, and Esfera on January 25. The first patch is probably new 5th job skills and stuff, I think Ark will be the 6th area of Arcane River, and Esfera (sphere in english) might be a new job like Cadena (chain)?
It says it will be officially revealed on December 14, which is probably the same day it will be released to the test servers, so check back soon!

Where does it say he’s a Verdent Pirate Class? I’m going to point something big out. Two big things. First, KMS specifically said the Ark is the answer to escape Arcane River. So now that it turns out to be a character, why? Second, KMS also said Black Mage is not the end game boss!!! SO… what if it would be Gerald Darkmoor? And I don’t remember reading anywhere or hearing anywhere Ark is a Verdent Flora. The possibilities maybe more in being a High Flora cause he had a dark past but I’m sure its not intwined with the Verdent. High Flora or Lef Flora was it? If that’s what the High Flora is called. So speculation here. What if Gerald Darkmoor is more prominent? Ark would then indeed have links and makes sense for him to be the escape link out of Arcane River. But anything above what I said “SO” is true.
The new class (Esfera) is definitely a High Lef/Flora, since they use a red crystal. The crystals used by the Flora are red by default, and blue after modification by the Verdant Flora.
They’re probably someone who deserted Darmoor’s army, just like Demon and the Black Mage. They took their powers and left, vowing to use their darkness to destroy the true evil before them.
Clearly, you weren’t reading it properly or doing research properly. The new class is called “Ark”. Esfera is the 6th region in Arcane River. This is what KMS said in their released teaser or whatever. But thanks for the information, I thought Ark was a High Lef/Flora because his energy was red but didn’t want to speculate on that. Soo… brings me back to what x3TheAran59 said, in which he translated to escape Arcane River, it is done through “Ark” or something like that. So he will be a prominent figure in the storyline.
Considering the new kind of ears, Ark might be a High Lef.
eh if there was an R character you could have said the 5 grandis heroes spelt maple in spanish (but that would be stretching it a LOT)

Kaiser doesn’t translate to anything in Spanish and Angelic still has nothing to do with Maple in Spanish

In x3TheAran59’s youtube channel, he explained this list that was for Ark. Basically it said something like the Ark is the only way to escape Arcane River, The Black Mage raids Arcane River, and then it said the final and strongest 5th job skills will be released. SO… yes, intro to Black Mage. It is the prelude to chaos, what sows the seeds to the Black Mage’s plans. So I’m guessing the Ark and Esfera are actually the next Arcane River regions because the Nova storyline hasn’t even been completed. Plus we haven’t met Darkmoor yet. I haven’t played Illium yet but idk if he meets Darkmoor. But if he hasn’t beaten him yet, then we will see him. Plus we haven’t seen Hilla yet again.

Ark is actually the new class, so my mistake, which means Esfera is the new region. So Max, your guess was sort of wrong. And V Care sounds like an expansion of the levels for skill nodes. I wonder when the new 5th job skills will come out
V Care includes lots of things: skill nodes level (added up to cores level), symbol transferring and paying (about 400 million) meso for 2 extra skill nodes instead of an expansion of the levels for skill nodes.

No, there should be new 5th job skills. It probably isn’t released yet. It is specified that the final and strongest 5th job skills will be released in the update. But idk which update.
Did they really say final? If so then this will be the last batch of 5th job skills? Dang what’s the point of making the v matrix potentially have unlimited core slots. I hope every class gets at least 3-4 skills if that’s the case, but it’s nexon rather pump out another class. They just love making their job harder than it already is.

So, this is purely from research I heard from reliable others, but not KMS
From the trailer that KMS left us and from x3TheAran59’s proof of what the Ark Winter Update is about, we know that there will be a revamp to the V matrix. Basically skill cores having 10 more levels. 25 + 10 = 35. I think x3TheAran59 will explain V care a little more.
I was expecting new 5th job skills. Looks like it won’t be on this V Care update. KMS did mention that they will be releasing the final and strongest 5th job skills during this winter update. It was through this thin teaser of information. With the official Ark logo on the slip and color, there were korean words which x3TheAran59 translated. The last line he translated told us that we would get new 5th job skills.
About Ark, it is confirmed he is a new class of the High Lef/Flora. His 1st-4th job skills have been revealed.
So, the Black Mage raids Arcane River (from translation). Also, KMS said that the Black Mage is NOT the end game boss (also from translation). However, in the trailer, it is mentioned that Commander Will is involved with Esfera, so we can expect him to be the next difficult boss after Lucid. This pattern has been seen with Lucid so I’m speculating it will be the same with Will. Just so you all know, Zero is enemies with Will as it is the Black Mage’s will that Will traps Zero in his jail.
So, this means, Esfera will not be the LAST region in Arcane River. That is for sure. We still haven’t seen Gerald Darkmoor or the Black Mage yet. Plus, Grandis hasn’t been fully developed to us yet. So they still need to do that. Also, Max mentioned the subtext of the page is the prelude to chaos. So, if the 6th region is only going to reveal more to the greater plot.
Meaning, (this is pure speculation at this point but we can expect) level cap increase, and probably three more zones in arcane river, just to cover up plot and do plot well. Cause I have no expectations that the game will be finished with this update ever. So it means, at least three more updates until the game is over. But the Black Mage is not the end game boss, so… the game won’t be over until that plot is done which I’m guessing it won’t be revealed until after the Black Mage. Any thoughts?
Passive cores can also have 10 more levels. 50 + 10 = 60. However, only the first skill NOT all three skills can be effected. So the best choice is using 3 cores and added it up. 17 + 17 + 16. And you will have 3 Lv. 60 passive skills.
