KMS ver. 1.2.292 – Lunar New Year!
Okay so actually there was a test server patch earlier this week but I completely ignored it because it was entirely just events and now that patch has come to the official servers.
TL;DR: Lunar New Year events!

Game Related
You will no longer be able to be hit by monsters while in cutscenes for the Esfera story.
You can now use the Rune of Darkness while an Elite Boss is active. The Elite Monsters will not be summoned but you will receive the experience buff.
Blaster’s secondary weapon has been added to the Evolving System Coin Shop.
The following errors have been fixed.
- Fixed an error where Mu Lung Dojo best records were sometimes reset.
- Fixed an error where characters who were inflicted with status effects in Hard Hilla could die after leaving the party.
- Fixed an error where characters could disappear at the bottom of certain Esfera maps.
- Fixed an error where you could not use Big Headward and Plastic Roy in the Esfera quick move.
- Fixed an error where in Reboot World, equipment disassembling was based off the highest levelled profession instead of the Alchemy level.
- Fixed an error where Kaiser and Angelic Buster could not enter hidden maps and complete story quests.
- Fixed an error where the Afterimage effect would disappear or would not be seen by other users after switching maps.
- Fixed an error where the character’s hair would not appear when sitting in the Dangling Nest Chair.
- Fixed an error where the ‘out of level range monsters’ penalty message didn’t appear in some maps.
Skill Related
The following errors have been fixed.
- Fixed an error where using True Sniping in Hard Will would cause the screen to appear weirdly.
- Fixed an error where Flame Wizard’s Blazing Extinction did not put the character into combat when hitting enemies.
- Fixed an error where the Aran’s Swing Research’s afterimage activated damage reflect.
- Fixed an error where skill transparency did not apply to Evan’s Dragon Master skill in Urus.
- Fixed an error where Angelic Buster’s Spotlight’s skill transparency was affected by the ‘other characters’ skill transparency’ option.
- Fixed an error where the client would exit after changing maps after using Angelic Buster’s Spotlight.
- Fixed an error where Assists were not activating when Tagging with Zero with cooldown reduction.
- Fixed an error where Illium’s Divine Shield applied to % HP attacks.
- Fixed an error where the client would exit if Ark used Memory of Root in the air after using certain skills.

The item can also give 10 Organic Wonder Cookies (food for the Wonder pets) or the Enriched Premium Water of Life (gives 270 days of magic to a pet).

2018 New Year’s Greetings
The 2018 New Year’s Greetings event will run from February 8 to February 27.
You can talk to Cassandra to choose one of the 12 zodiac animals. The one that you choose will be shown as a small icon to the left of your character’s name for the rest of the event.
You can right click on other characters and greet them, or accept greetings from other players. Each time this happens, both players will receive 100 Ark Points. You can give/receive greetings 5 times per day respectively.
If you are able to greet every animal 3 times each, you’ll get 100 Ark Coins and the Zodiac Damage Skin!
Kemdi’s Lunar New Year Playground
Kemdi’s Lunar New Year Playground will be open from February 8 to February 27.
You can talk to Kemdi to enter the playground and have a choice between three games: Kite Riding, Psychic Yut, and Maple One Card.
For each game, you’ll gain Ark Points at the end based on your ranking or win/loss result. You can play them only until you reach the daily 20,000 Ark Points cap.

- 1st place: 1,500 Ark Points
- 2nd place: 1,200 Ark Points
- 3rd place: 900 Ark Points
- 4th place: 600 Ark Points

Rock Paper Scissors with Kemdi
The Rock Paper Scissors with Kemdi event will run from February 8 to February 27.
Every day from 10:15 AM to 11:45 PM, every XX:15 and XX:45, you’ll receive an invitation to play rock, paper, scissors with Kemdi.
Each time you win a round, you’ll move up a floor, but if you lose a round, you’ll move down. There are a total of 9 rounds, and you’ll play 3 times in a row.
Based on the floor you end up on, you’ll receive Ark Points.

Golden Puppy Lucky Bag
The Golden Puppy Lucky Bag event will run from February 8 to February 27.
After accepting the quest, you’ll receive the Golden Puppy Lucky Bag skill, which you can turn on or off by right clicking. It will be available until February 28.
When the skill is on, a giant bag will appear over your character’s head. As you kill monsters around your level, it will grow bigger and bigger.
When its completely filled, you can use the skill to summon a cute puppy that attacks nearby enemies and receive 300 Ark Points. If the skill kills a monster, you’ll receive an additional 20 Ark Points per monster killed (maximum of 200 points per use).
Daily Lunar New Year Gift
The Daily Lunar New Year Gift event will run from February 13 to February 19.
It’s a good old-fashioned attendance check! Kill 200 monsters around your level to participate each day.
The event runs for 7 days and the Xth day you participate, you’ll receive X Daily Lunar Year Gifts (e.g. you’ll get 3 of them on the 3rd day). Each gift can be opened to receive:
- 2x Experience Coupon (15 minutes)
- Power Up Buff (15 minutes)
- 10 Ark Coins
Golden Puppy New Year Gift
From February 13 to February 19, you can log in to receive a special year of the dog gift!

When you stay logged in for a total of 30/60/90/120 minutes, you can click the button on the UI to receive the following rewards:

first! seems like the game is coming to an end soon, the game is quite dead in MSEA because of lack of new content (morass/esfera/ark updates – only more maps, another p2w boss, repetitive events). Already predicted that Maplestory will end by 2020.
Another p2w boss? Lol youre playing maple wrongly then. Theres so much F2P attackers in Normal lucid. Maybe youre one of those dumb f2p that cubes for %stats instead of drop%. You’ll be amazed at how 8 drop eq can change your farming. Just get good mate and stop complaining.
i think your definition of f2p is quite a bit misaligned with his definition of f2p lol. Exactly how a f2p can get 8 legend pot eqs, let alone cube it to drop% on MSEA i do not know either.
I mean people said maple would be closed months after big bang. Then after spark, then red, then hi-v, and now that arcane river is ending. The game’s got places to go and characters to pull on, they’re far from out of content, it’s just that the content they’re putting out is too high level for 98% of players. But that’s because those high level players? They’re the only ones actually committed to the game enough to play it and pay to play it.
