Almost immediately after the new entry in Inkwell’s Secret Diary yesterday, the new skills for the Thief and Pirate jobs has been released to Tespia! Look past the cut for skill information (all at max level)!
The playstyle for Vipers has completely changed in my opinion, and Captains have become much more summon oriented! How do you feel about the changes?
Also, Horntail has become an instanced dungeon! That makes two bosses (along with Zakum), I wonder when they’ll release the two in the regular server, because as of now they’re only instanced in Tespia…
Rogue
- Nimble Body: accuracy and avoid boost has been increased from 160 to 220, master level has been decreased from 20 to 10

There’s no more Transform state. You just ‘summon’ the transformed spirit now.

These aren’t Corsairs and Buccs anymore. No more Transform. No Demo. No Battleship. No Backspin blow. No barrage. No Nothing… Atleast we get this Kamehameha, Full Map attack and a quicker replacement for Barrage, and more wep atk buffs since we dont have 40 anymore.

Your an idiot, how does energy charge make us unique? There is plenty of classes with similair ‘charging’ systems. Besides, nobody makes a class for just energy charge. Buccs are pathetic now, completely ruined the playstyle.

Assassinate: damage has been increased from 600% to 740%, when used you accumulate Assassinate Points which can be used to increase your damage or get buffs, Dark Sight is no longer required but if used you gain a 150% damage increase, cooldown time of 5 seconds, animation was renewed
I’m not to clear on Assassinate Points either, but I think its used with Shadower Instinct.
I’m wondering if the Karma that Db also get stacks with Thorns from their 4th job?
I’m kinda sad for the sairs now because everybody wanted to be a sair for the boat and especially now that the boat skill gets a permanent effect in Chaos.
I wonder how they’re are gonna be played now, its a complete change of that class.
I’m glad that the thiefs finally know what they’ll be getting in the future, flashy skills, nice buffs, etc… but why don’t Db’s get an extra mastery skill for their katara’s like Shadowers and Nightlords get for their daggers and claws?
Oh well can’t ask that actually because I haven’t seen what the new weapon formula will do for Db in Chaos (I’m a eMS player) so it might not be necessary.

In what way? Last I checked bandits were the original damage stackers, and when Dual Blades came along, it felt like an upgraded bandit with a lot of invisible frames. Now, us bandies get decent skills for once, and (I’m grateful that my ‘nate was maxed first, now) since many of the skills add “assassinate points,” assassinate seems to be our central attack. Probably a mix of SB, C Edge, another skill that adds ‘nate points, and then a macroed ds + ‘nate would be intense.
Tired of everyone hating on new content. This stuff keeps the game fresh people. If we kept it the same way, you would’ve grown up and gotten bored of it.

Um… This may sound like a very… novice question but:
Does the summons from the Gun-using Pirates (Octo-gunners) get any knockback from the guns their using? The gatling skill has 4 little octopuses holding it in place and the really big one seems to be firing recklessly. Also do they use a shotgun, sniper, and other assortments of gun-related weapons in their skills? And does the Sniper skill kill any monster? (ex: Lvl 120 uses skill against event monsters) And how do you glide with Gunners? Is it the funny green effect some pirates seem to have that makes a sound like an alien ship is descending?
I’ve never played a pirate past level 20 (including Thunder Breaker) and my questions about knock-back affecting Octopuses are from my knowledge of mishandling a gun. (Seems like you can get blown very far away) Go ahead and call me a n00b or the like. You have plenty of reasons to call me that since I don’t understand why people choose higher weapon/magic attack over stat increases in their equips.
Apparently, science is not applied in maplestory, thus the octopus does not receive any knockback since the developers do not care about animals. This is also proven in the battleship flying in mid-air when it is a ship! HELLO?!

I guess I wouldn’t expect someone like you to understand what this update does. This game is slowly turning to shit. The classes used to be unique in their playstyle which helped bring variation to the game. I don’t want to be in a party where everyone is of a different character class and we all have the same set of skills. The game was fun because of those skills that no other class had. Night Lords and Sairs are basically Bowmen, Bandits are DBs, and Buccs are warriors…We’re sad because they’re killing the game.
To everyone else, I think this all started with giving classes other than mages an ulti.
I guess we’ll see how things go…

yes, i assume that the “counter” skill animation change is just revenge… simply because it has never been removed in previous patches and doesnt have nething about it here. although there is a skill called viper support that grants 15% dmg increase to all party members…

Savage Blow Animation Imo looks cooler. I totally agree with ya with Deleting Band of Thieves/Changing Assaulter to Muspell Haim. In my opinion, Edge Carnival should be replaced again to replace at least Assaulter since it’s our signature move, and it makes our combos pretty swell.

Wind Talisman is the same as Shuriken Burst just Wind Talisman sacrifices damage for push, Remove one of them or both and give us back a drain type skill and or a guard type skill since NL doesn’t seem to have gained any more survivability other than an additional 10% hp.
also they split venom just to waste skill points, they should just keep it 4th job and give us back alchemist and avenger in 3rd job for NL and Band of Thieves to shadowers

Mercedes was supposed to get Dual-Snipe but Nexon ended up removing it because of what it would do to the class. As much as I would have loved to have Dual-Snipe and Hurricane they figured out before it’s release that it would be a bit broken.
It depends, really. If you don’t count in AFA it’s RF, since it’s more mobile than Hurricane, but then if you do count AFA, it’s Hurricane, all the way.

I like the fact that Sin’s have hp draining abilities for bosses that has potion cooldowns (LHC, etc.) or no potion use like Mu Lung Dojo. Although it is rarely used, it serves its purpose well.
So yeah…no Drain is a BIG letdown. They didnt even bother replacing it with something similar 😥
Other than that….well have to try the skills to see for ourselves if it’s trully a letdown.

damn.. sairs are.. how you say… OP now..? I mean.. their snipe is effing ridiculous. 800% damage on a boss while ignoring 40% of their defense? While their at it, its a 100% crit that hits 4 times? and its only a 5 sec cool down? my dragons roar is only a 10 second cool down and it becomes usable pretty fast, so can you imagine a 5 sec cool down?
thats just effing crazy damage there… especially at 800% damage… that’ll take out a huge chunk of hp from any boss…
just like Marksman’s Snipe… They do 6x 720% on bosses with 40% ignored defense if i am not mistaken… with a 5 seconds cooldown when maxed….OP?? we do not know how one thing is for sure… NEXON SUCKS at revamping these two jobs…
yeah forgot to mention about mm. but for mm, they do not have an attack like hurricane or rapid fire tho. i have heard that ultimate strafe somewhat rivals hurricane, but not nearly as fast. anywho, i think MM deserves it the very least since they lack the ability to shoot a billion arrows in a few seconds.
but! with that being said, even MM’s snipe IS OP as well… thats just… stacks of damage… i mean, can you imagine if a drk’s sacrafice hit as much as sniped did? OP! but for drk, they only hit once (well twice with this update, but only at 400%).

Since thief do not have any keen eye left to increase their attacking range, won’t this means that they will attack with their original attacking range? Assassin types that has no keen eye attacking range is about the same as magicians only a slightly shorter range.
Does this means that they are now attacking mobs in their originals range or they made it like the gunslinger class as they have already had a long range attack to begin with and do not need any increase range skills. i find it curious cause archer still has archer mastery to boost the attacking range..they could just made it all like gunslingers right?

Transformation and Super Transformation is the unique skill for Viper/Buccaneer and the fucked up Demolition.
in case you havent noticed, besides transformation and ST, ENERGY CHARGE also happens to be one of the viper’s unique skills, of which Nexon decided to focus on more rather than going super saya-jin all the time.
How is it unique when winds have see the wind which is the same??

it means you gain more energy per attack charging it faster… duration seems to have remind the same 60 seconds

Why completely change Buccaneer’s combat style? All I wanted was a damage increase, and maybe a few new skills for each class. Not this. At all.

290% *3 does NOT equal 870%.
290% * 3 simply means that 3 attacks do 290% damage EACH, not stacked….
Saying 290% *3 = 870% gives players(especially new ones) a VERY wrong image of the ACTUAL damage you do. After all, 3x 290% might be stronger OR weaker than 1x 870%, depending on the hits you make. This due to the Damage range.
Second, I agree with someone up above, who said that “Things change”. We can’t expect a game like maplestory to build on the same system forever. Apart from that, Most classes got revamps already, now it’s the Pirate’s and Thief’s turn. In the future revamps will happen more often, so classes keep changing. No use in arguing over it, or deeming it “WTF TROLLOLOLOL HAX” etc. GMS currently has approx 24 or 25 classes, and I personally think this is what makes maplestory so attractive. The will to completely re-create classes so that the “Story will become truly unique” for any player. After all, Maplestory is not an MMO where a said situations exist. We can choose to fight the Black Mage or ignore him all together, except when playing the storyline-based classes, being the Heroes, Knights of Cygnus and the Resistance.
This really encourages people to go their own way with whatever character they wish to play.
I’d say GJ Nexon, and I look forward to seeing more work 🙂

I’m simply “at peace” with anything they do. I enjoy PLAYING Maplestory, not LIVING it. Whatever skill they give or take, I will keep playing, just because I like it, and not to be the “best lvl 200 epicness signature for my job” most ppl here seem to want to be.

Wrong,in 3rd job marauders mostly used csb and bsb since energy charge took so very long to charge.Only then we went for blast.

Corsair is ruined. They removed the only thing that made it truly unique from different classes: the Battleship.
Without it and the new skills that have been added, we (Corsairs) are now basically Cannon Shooters with Octopi instead of Monkies as summons.

I am a Viper lover, and i have to say that the revamp was shocking as transformation was removed. But its actually still pretty good overall. THEY.FRIGGING.BUFFED.ENERGY.CHARGE.WHICH.IS.ANOTHER.OF.VIPER’S.UNIQUE.SKILLS.INSTEAD.OF.ONLY.TRANSFORMATION.
Stop overlooking energy charge. if you actually look carefully, nexon actually somewhat integrated transformation moves into energy charge instead. except for the ANIMATION (which in no way does it affect damage).
Also, i feel that they should not have removed mp recovery + drain as they removed another of the Viper’s special traits. POTLESS TRAINING.
I was also glad that CS blow no longer has a charge time, as that was the big reason why cs blow is weak. AND THEY ALSO GAVE US INFIGHTERS RANGED MOVES. although this may make infighters feel less melee, this actually helps with training as we no longer need to run up to the mob to beat the living crap out of them with our short fists.
And if you people think that Nexon did a horrible job revamping the classes, GO MAKE YOUR OWN GAME AND SEE IF PEOPLE LOVE WHAT CHOICES YOU DO FOR YOUR OWN SKILLS. after that, then go reflect and see if it’s easy to manage your own game. I give them respect for handling Maplestory relatively well all these years.

I totally get what ur saying with energy charge seeing how its our only stance skill and all but i feel that in some way you’re missing the point. Energy charge is a unique skill of bucc but its not THE “signature” skill that super transform is. When i first started out my bucc the only thing going for me was how i was gonna get that wicked sick super transform skill. Especially since it takes you forever to charge up that damn bubble during bossing. of course all thats changed now with the bubble becoming more practical and probably higher dmg but its just not the same anymore. Honestly, i was never into super transform for its buff but simply cos it looked so damn cool. if i wanted to create a bucc for dps and some bubble i would have probably made a hero or something. Bucc was cool cos it was simply fun and super transform just made me look badass compared to the other classes(although it did make wearing cash equips pointless). Changing bucc’s gameplay and signature move simply didnt do for me

but the correct phrase to scream out loud would be ‘signature skill’, and not ‘unique move’. That would make more sense. much more.
i can’t say that im completely satisfied with the removal of transformation, but i still find this update an upgrade over our previous skills. If you actually think through it carefully, it IS quite difficult to revamp pirate skills without significantly changing our style of gameplay.
i feel that they could have made it something like we go into transformation mode when our energy bar is full instead, if they really had to remove transformation.
but anyways, good job Nexon on powering up pirates, and good job to Max on updating us on the patches!
Well, yes math has done the job once again. The new skills added to buccaneer/vipers have improved Viper/Buccaneers quite a bit. Gotta be honest, guard crash + fist enrage means you can take on a DB’s DPS at quite a few bosses with high PDR.
Though, I’d much rather die that receive this revamp. Stab me while you can. Removing ST is like stripping a high military marine if their high rank and giving it to someone else to do your old flashing skills infront of you just to rub it in ur face.
Even though the transformation is in the animations it just doesn’t compare to actually transforming. I mean, you look AMAZINGLY cool while transformed and I play for looks and fun rather than damage. I am not a fan of the new energy animation. It looks very distracting and just… wrong. And yes, we have ranged skills now, but we were supposed to be fist fighters. We should be quick and up close almost like someone who uses a dagger rather than being ranged and what not. Plus the big laser blast is not a skill unique to Buccs, it is definitely just a copy pasta of other characters laser thing. (Sorry, it’s been months since I’ve played but saw this update and had to check it out so I’m a bit rusty on the names of things) And you have to admit that it does take out what people originally looked for in pirates. They are making them so that they scale up to the other new classes which is what people asked for so I suppose beggars can’t be choosers in this situation, but still. I am not a fan but I’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Well, a lot of people used Somersault and maxed that before Flash Fist(And I believe Flash fist in a lot of guide was maxed last…) So yeah, I guess pre-brawlers need to use Somersault for the rest of 1st job.

Pirates just got more awesome. For all the complaints about Battlecrap and Super Saiyan, those skills were awesome but impractical. It’s the reason I myself never made a pirate and quit a mechanic. Having to actively buff/mount/toggle just to use a set of attacks is a waste of time. Passive skills like Energy Charge are more tolerable, efficient and generally better in every way. Also, having a ranged skill makes the class significantly more versatile. And then there’s the Gunslingers, who have the epic percent octo to tear through everything for massive damage.
However, sins still fail due to survivability issues and shads still BURN MONEY to attack and defend. Ultimately, it’s still not worth playing either class without UNLIMITED DOLLAR WORKS funding them.
what would you mean burn money to attack and defend…? from where I see it, you could just use pickpocket mesos for attacking… the defending part pretty much comes from your meso guard. honestly. if you’re burning mesos at some place other than bosses, you should reconsider your training spots and etc. (just saying for those who don’t know)

I play a bucc and I must say i look forward to this update. I hate paying 30k nx for my clothes and then not seeing it in the end.
It’s quite dissappointing that our survivability with demo is gone but therefor we got that ignoore dmg skill which is cool if you consider our high hp.
One thing i hope is that energy charge buff stacks with att potions as we got our 40att buff from transform removed and they now want us buccs to rely on energy charge much (stance ftw).
Why did you pay 30k nx when you knew that transform was gonna cover it up?
What i forgot to say: for the dojoers, look at endurance it’s way better as you hardly got your charge in dojo.

Nice update but they should have changed most of their old skills to make them better not replacing the skills entirely. But it’s not up to us to decide what to change so either get use to it or play something else.

This update actually seems like it will help buccaneers, Fist enrage seems quite good and could possibly even replace demo as a bossing skill as it can hit twice or maybe thrice in the time we use demo, as well Dragon strike hits twice and more monsters. I’m not looking forward to the stupid transformed spirit attacking with me its like a slap to the face that I no longer have transformation although it probably was removed itself in an attempt to stabilize our unstable damage ranges.
Un-stable damage rage. Laugh of the day. The only thing that really hit hard was Demolition, which has that highest damage per hit in maplestory. Not highest OVERALL due to slow speed. Go to the Dual Blade section. You’ll know what I’m talking about.
Sair: Lose battleship, rapidfire gets a buff. I can see how that works, as rapidfire isn’t really a training oriented skill, as opposed to the new additions of heavily mobbing orientated skills.
Not really too keen on the extra summoning aspects introduced.
I can see how the sair class is going to work, however.
Dice(x2) + crew command + pirates revenge (if that’s still around) + “continual aim”. Assuming you get lucky and get the better buffs with the skills that have a random choice in buffs.
Does NL attacking range shorten since there is no more keen eye? and does it means that archer are now the only long range classes?
Now that u mentioned it, i was also wondering the same thing, is NLs range lowered? or their like Captain class, no skill that adds range is needed? can someone confirm this.
Nexon actually followed the class names and concepts this time. Corsairs are pirate captain. Captains are in charge of his crew. This is the reason why they have so much summons. I never believed battleship would fit the concept cause captains command and usually do not take control of the ship.
As for NLs they are supposed to be fragile. That’s what makes a range theif class. low survivability and huge damage output.
As for vipers, I dunno what they did.
A Captain is in charge of the crew who are in charge of the ship. How does a Captain not guide the ship?

Anyway, it’s because the uberfunded cashfags hit the damage limit. Now instead of a single 999999 attack, skills do 3+ hits of 400000 or more. Now, to the rest of us, designing Maple around those who funnel all of their money into a “free” game seems ridiculous. But to Nexon, a corporation only concerned with profit, it makes perfect sense to cater to such players.
The reason for these revamps is that all the other players like Krillin and Yamcha (a metaphor for the vast majority of players) fall behind when Goku (the metaphorical abnormally super funded cashfag) pays off Kami (Nexon) to get UNLIMITED HYPERBOLIC WORKS (exp coupons, gach tickets, wheels and all the other game affecting perks the cash shop was never supposed to sell) and goes super saiyan 4 (hits level 120 in 2 days flat, and 200 by the end of the month). His power is so great that regular bosses won’t do. To keep him interested, the plot gods design nigh-unkillable bosses like Frieza (Pick Bean), Cell (Empress Cygnus) and Buu (Black Mage) so that Goku will spend moar moniez to raise his power level until he can defeat said superbosses. Except now he’s the only one who can do it. The other Saiyans (lesser funded cashfags) stand a decent chance, but still can’t do jack. Suddenly, everyone starts to realize that the plot gods do nothing but suck Goku’s dick and begin to lose interest. In order to prevent the game from having as many players as you can count on one hand, everyone else gets a pacifying BUT STILL COMPLETELY INADEQUATE mid season upgrade. Then they get their big debut and kick ass for a short while. Until Goku surpasses them all the next month after more training (throwing more money at the computer screen). Those upgrades once again become obsolete. And then there needs to be another buff. It’s the DBZ factor at work. The more powerful you allow the most powerful character to be, the more FUBAR it makes game balance. Upgrades that the cashfags can take advantage of DON’T HELP AT ALL. They’re fun and all, HOWEVER, the REAL solution to imbalance problems is to take the money out of Maple. If people can’t buy success, if everyone’s given an equal chance to move up based only on hard work, guts and grinding like they were IN THE BEGINNING (anyone else miss those days?) then suddenly the imbalances would disappear on their own. But, like money in politics, it’s no profitable to eliminate corruption. So that’s why Maple will continue being “RUINED FOREVER” every three months. Because in reality, it was RUINED FOREVER the moment someone could buy something other than pets and clothes in the cash shop. Items that allow pets to loot? Gach tickets for rare items? Rings that boost stats? All part of the larger problem.
There is only one answer. SOCIALIZE ALL THE MAPLEZ! Or just play without buying anything. If you don’t buy anything, they lose money from providing you a service for free. All players have to do is continue not buying anything until the money’s out of Maple. Otherwise, buying NX will just encourage them to further ruin any semblance of game balance that may still remain. Even meso farming never ruined the game as badly as Nexon themselves have.

I think it does, since Max didn’t point out that it gives more ATT now. We have 52.5(7.5 comes from Physical Training, 25 comes from mental clarity and 20 from Energy Charge). So we’re just missing 7.5 more points.
Oh yeah, to add to my post, I bet you probably after this goes to the official servers, It might increase to 30(who knows). We have Double Lucky Dice and Guard Crash, so don’t worry too much about it.

All classes for thieves have Sudden Raid.
Am I the only one who foresaw Battleship getting removed? Just think about it for a second. After Chaos, Battleship didn’t break. Since Battleship no longer broke, any skill that isn’t used on Battleship is utterly obsolete, which is about half of a Sair’s skills. Seeing that, I thought that they’d either remove Battleship or have it be killable like it was before, but seeing that they even said drastic changes were going to occur (“everything but the name will change”), I doubted Battleship was staying.
For Corsairs, I like what they did in general. They made summons much more useful and there aren’t any completely useless skills like before; they fixed what was broken. I look forward to actually playing my Corsair again.
As for Buccaneers, I approve of the Energy Charge buff, but I denounce pretty much everything else. They use ranged attacks similar to Cannoneers, Mechanics, and even Corsairs to the point of redundancy. Ever since Big Bang, it seemed the Buccaneer started to lose its unique style of play. My Buccaneer buddies would take pride in knowing their class arguably took the most skill to use properly out of all the classes, and if used correctly, could abuse their invincibility frames to eliminate potion use during training and even bossing. Most of the skills had cooldowns, so one had to use a variety of skills in conjunction with each other in order to fight properly. After this update, that just seems to have completely vanished. Almost all the skills are spammable, and the new barrage, while becoming spammable, lost its extremely useful invincibility frames in the process. I honestly thought when they revamped Buccaneers, they would make their play more akin to its original style with some damage buffs, but it went in the opposite direction. I severely disapprove of the general changes made to Brawlers.
I don’t really like how Shadowers turned out either, for the most part. Ditching Assaulter? That’s, in my opinion, even worse than removing Transform/Super Transform and Battleship. Assaulter was not only a useful skill for mobility, but it was one of the signature traits of Bandits in general. Removing it and adding Dual Blader-esque skills hinders class diversity, making classes relatively redundant.
Night Lords are pretty alright. I expected Avenger to be knocked down to second job, but new mobbing skills is still along the same lines. Not sure how useful or strong they are compared to Avenger, though. Quadruple Throw…somehow, I saw that coming, hah. Overall Night Lords got a good revamp I’d say.
About Shadow Partner…Does it still use Summoning Rocks or no? I find it pretty stupid how Mirror Imaging, along with other summoning skills from other classes that used to use Rocks (Hawk/Eagle, etc.), don’t use Summoning Rocks but Shadow Partner still does. That was by far the one thing I thought would happen to Thieves, and it’d be a shame if it still does.
Actually I was already thinking battle ship should be removed from corsairs but for a different reason. I mean they are on a ship firing a cannon? Isn’t there another pirate that uses a cannon now? I had already been thinking that they should take away battle ship after I heard that an update was coming for them. Granted I don’t think they should just be like bowman and I don’t have a corsair to be attached to their moves, but I do think they should do cool things like you would see in the matrix, jumping around firing there guns like a real pirate or what ever. You get what I’m saying I’m sure.
I actually find it kind of funny that Battleship is getting removed. The definition of Corsair is a pirate battleship, so the removal of it makes their name seem pointless, in a way.
And no, shadow partner does not use summoning rocks anymore(I know you said more, but I just wanted to comment on those two points).
Fist Enrage is a totally different skill, and IS weaker than Barrage. At max level, Fist Enrage(all together in 8 hits 238%) does 1908% When Barrage(all together in 6 hits, 400% per) does 2400%.
You forgot the part where it’s like 3 times as fast. I swear, all this bitching about taking away Pirates’ unique skills when I’m pretty sure these new ones are exclusive to them…..as a Bucc user myself, I can honestly say that Trans/STrans was nothing more than a gimmick. It could be removed through dispel(but you’d still be transformed), the speed boost could be cancelled if you had dash(which is utterly retarded), and out of the few moves you could do in those forms, only one was even worth anything(Demo, which still was one of the slowest soloing skills in the game). Be happy Buccs are actually competent now, and get used to the new skills just as you got used to the old ones. I hate it when ppl just can’t let go of the past…even when it sucked….

st att and speed buff being dispelled was changed after chaos patch nothing in st gets dispelled, as for dash its useless for buccs and your stupid for putting sp into it. and the fact that we lose 15att and 40 speed/20jump with all our iframe skills doesnt make up for the fact we may break even or do slightly more dmg 1v1.
I’ll take your word on that post-chaos dispel fix(since I haven’t paid much attention to my Bucc since then), but you missed my point about dash. I personally put no points in it(for that stupid fact I mentioned) but the fact that the buff could be overwritten just makes ST look like a problematic mess, which is probably why it was gotten rid of. When you mention iframe skills I assume you just meant Demo since the other iframe skill(corckscrew blow) is MORE abusable now in case you didn’t notice. There are only 2 reasons I can think of as to why anyone would complain over losing Demo to Fist Enrage. One would be that it looked cooler(yeah, ok, I’ll give you that one), and the other would be the beloved iframes. For the second, here’s a thought: Was it mentioned anywhere that Fist Enrage(or any of the new moves for that matter) WON’T have iframes? I already saw some gameplay of the new skills and it looks to me like FE has some. Mix that with how fast and spammable it is and you have a much more functional move than Demo ever was

Okay let’s start from the very beginning of your horrible facts. First of all, he’s relating the damage of fist enrage to demo, obviously barrage only hits 24x% damage AT THIS POINT! Thus Fist Enrage is a more powerful skills, yes hits 3-4x faster. No, ST is NOT read the big badass bold letters NOT!! Dispelable. It’s obvious that you came from a private server. Dash also did NOT go over your speed. Only skill that went over the haste effects of ST was haste it’s self, another hint you are from a Private Server. You also had the idea of not even touching dash, like i did DERRRRRRRRRRR. Even if it did go over ST. Demo was slow, yes but also had the highest damage per hit out all all other skills out there.
You two need to do some research before laying down false facts.

The best build of a Viper/Buccaneer would mean leaving Barrage at 1, because the damage difference is no difference since ST is useable every 10-20 seconds, barrage for 10-20 seconds is just a waste of SP. Any pro Buccaneer/Viper would know it is not dispelable.

the st transformation state never was dispellable because transformed states, like being a red snail from mano, couldnt be dispelled, the buff portion (the 40att, 40 speed/20jump) of transformation could be dispelled and wasn’t fixed til chaos not bb, and little does that matter now since no part of st can be dispelled or canceled with another skill now… maybe if you played a bucc you would know?
I don’t see the use of having both Dragon Strike and Energy Blast.
Dragon Strike is for when you don’t have energy charged up, Energy Blast is for when you do.
Yeah, but then since getting Energy is so simple(Like you get it full after a single hit), you’re basically going to be spamming Energy Blast the whole time.

Okay, first of all. No, just no. There were better ideas that deleting the signature move, Battleship from all of Captain/Corsairs abilities. Now Corsair/Captains are just weak little rip off’s of Bowmasters and Marksmen/Crossbowmasters. Honestly, Snipe? RF Enhancement? This is just a mix of Bowmaster and Marksmen/Crossbowmasters and a ripoff of Mercedes. Giving your stupid octotard your Battleship? Stupid, very stupid.
~Buccaneer/Viper~
This is the biggest one I’m upset about. This one makes me collapse just reading it. Hoestly, ST was the biggest show and coolest move in all of the MS jobs. ST skills (Demo and Snatch) Could have been replaced with Energy Blast and Fist Enrage. Barrage could have been kept and enhanced to where it was before BB (1x 1x 1x 1x 2x 4x damage) with a higher % to maintain a good DPS. Guard Crash makes me nerdgasm of course cause it lets us take on hardcore DPSer’s and makes Sacrifice look like complete and udder crap. Though, now with only Fist Enrage and a shitty stance effect that only comes in place every 30 or so seconds in a boss battle for 60 seconds makes bossing very difficult. I think stance is in order for Buccaneers, after all i-frames sub statued that which if course is only on CSB which i’m sure warriors have a same effect skill as well. If they go in like this in this condition. DPS will be sad, falling off ledges will also be over-rated.
Pirate Rating: 2/10 I’d much rather die that receive this revamp. Stab me while you can. Removing ST or Battleship is like stripping a high military marine if their high rank and giving it to someone else to do your old flashy skills infront of you just to rub it in ur face like the douche bags they are.

Shadowers… I duno, I’ve played a shadower and it wasn’t my favorite. Anyways away from my life story. The update was bullshit. No more BoT (Band of Theifs), assaulter and they get a skill that works like a dual blades old Fatal Blow? I think not! Shoot me while you can about this one. But it seems from all the revamping I’ve talked about in this whole post makes Nexon want to mix all of the jobs together to make it so there are no difference between any of them! Not much else to say about Shadowers, but I really expected more, since Shads have been shafted and made to look like shit since Dual Blades releasal.

Night Lords, one of the jobs I fucking hated the most but now I feel mostly sorry for. Before BB was the most favored and 2nd most powerful job though people said they’re more powerful. Away from their history. Quad throw, was not really an improvement. It was oftenly talked alot about in forums such as Basil Market that it should be added but when it was added it turned out to be more shittier than ever. Honestly, it’s like trading in TT for an attack thats flashier but hits less damage (TT Ignored Defence %, Quad does not but hits the same damage %). NL’s have gotten nothing but shaft shaft shaft. Not as much as Buccaneers since Bucc’s have been at rock bottom DPS since releasal, math has proven it. Math has also proven TT to have more DPS on 1 mob unless you have a hoard of 6 or more mobs infront of you. Meaning, Avenger was alot shittier than some people think. Trust me, TT ignore % def, Avenger does not. Even ahd it proven by a Calculus University Professor.
Theif Rating: 3/10 Slightly better than pirates. Can’t say it was very good. When I mean not very good, it was a dis-improvement. Honestly, it’s was all basicly skill re-animation and nothing else except a very few things.
Overview: This revamp sucks. Shoot me, stab me what ever you want. This revamp was a fail and something I did not look forward to seeing. I expected better. But Nexon with their Facist ways, they obviously wanted to shaft us, once again!
so they just bumped the dmg of dits a little, brought back sudden raid to all thiefs…. and made skill lvls lower……… but took away all the skills taht made maple fun? AHAHAHAHAHAHAH WAT A TROLL…….. those sexy kills prob will cost like 99999999 nx to get…….

My corsair is forever ruined. No matter HOW MUCH they buff rapid fire, and other skills which increase attack, it will NEVER equal the damage of hurricane. I liked being able to freeze and burn mobs as well, but thats also gone. So in the end, we have what LOOKS like the bastard child of a wild bowmaster and marksman orgy party with neither uniqueness nor the damage output of the mentioned predecessors.
Say what you like. Corsairs will be dead after this update. All the newer ones are for the idiots who never played one in the first place and cant control their ships worth a damn. I do not see tespia content being changed much before they release it to the official server, at least not to the point where they will actually change the skill. R.I.P my corsair…time to continue my paladin or just quit.

Look at Tri Throw and Quad Throw. Tri throw hits the same damage as Quad Thow and ignores defence. Quad throw hits the same damage as Tri Throw but doesn’t ignore defence, catch the drift? Quad Throw is weaker than Tri Throw.

The only reason they are getting rid of Battleship is because they can’t fix the problems they are having with it. Such as the random DC when hopping onto ropes and the like.

Haste still gives +40% Speed and +20% Jump. It just passively increases the max speed to 160 as a passive effect. So they’re still the fastest, essentially.
Critical Throw is still there. ( You can tell because the skill isn’t under the deleted list. )
They’re even better at 1vs1 now. They just made it so we can mob, earlier, too. o-O

I disagree. I think Carnival Edge and Savage Blow will be useful together, since either one or both add assassinate points. If you’ve seen a shadower at all recently, you’ll know we use just about every skill besides double-stab and steal. What to I see DB’s using? That corkscrew attack and chains of hell, plus flying assaulter.
And if you want to play the “Shads are copying DB’s” card, then I’ll counter it with the “We were here first, so technically you copied us,” card.

U know buccs can no long punch…. well they cant elbow, or flash fist, or combo in general as well as they could.
All i wanted was for them to make attack speed boosting work in trans =.= idk why but maybe its just me, be while in trans u attack as if ur boosters weren’t on.
Also yes class diversity is gone to shit D: i mean just look at mercedes(merc’s only hav like 3 shooting moves, and like 4 meleeing rising rush moves; but they hav every damage steroid available, damage reduction, improved speed and jump cap, a hurricane that fires 2 arrows instead of 1) she replaces the bowman class almost completely, dualblades r shads…, and they gonna make it so all the pirates can use the cannoneer’s unique ultimate which is the nautilus thing lol

Soo many people are whining over Sair’s revamp. that crappy boat died in 3 hits and you know it was trash. sairs also had no party value nor good DPM. now they do happy? I belive that Pirates do need buff but i also belive the NEXON has made a big mistake to talk away trasformation and battle ship. These skills made the class unique and fun to play. The new skills do seem decent but i belive some to them should not be added to keep battleship and transformation. Nexon did a good job trying to make the classes stronger but they got rid of the classic defination of pirate.

Basically made sure that my MM isn’t unique in anyway and is outclassed in every way. I’m sure archers will get a revamp and I’m also sure it’ll be just as lame as last time. Everyone gets a 100% power increase and all archers ever get is a change in play style. The only thing special we’ve gotten in the past 5 years has been double jump.

Really, I just enjoyed Buccs because they were fun and kept me entertained for the longest time. Changing skills whenever Energy Charge built up, with no cost of MP. It was like a reward. Transformation made everything cooler.
I used Drain to boss. I’m not funded, so I would spam drain on bosses to beat/survive.
Shadowers too, warping around with Assaulter (used it as a replacement for FJ back when shads didn’t have FJ, hur), and the BoT’s animations were derpy and amused me.
I dunno, I like playing a game for fun. Not for damage….
Guess I’ll stick to my f/p.
I own a Corsair, and I love the Battleship. But in all honesty, you have to dismount to rebuff, to climb ropes… It’s super squishy! :@ NOW all that is a letdown.
The new stuff? just makes the class incredibly better. Kudos to Nexon!

Well let’s face it. Before this update Sairs were just underpowered, unfunctional, and under-utilized assassins that took 5x as long to level unless you made a UA. As for Buccs, they were overpowered, extremely versitlel, overused, super-saiyan forming hero classes. At least now they’re more pirate-y I suppose.
On a side note: are warriors the only class without a global skill nowadays? >_>
People need to remember that before you are a Corsair, you become a Gunslinger! That is why I made one. To kill with my guns. not a battle ship which limits you to certain skills and had terrible mobility. In general the battleship was lame from the beginning.

You got it wrong. Sairs are the OP ones, Buccs have ABYSSMAL damage compared to every other job….Bishops literally have higher DPM then they did. What was awesome about Buccs is that all their 4th job skills look awesome. Sairs, had the highest single target DPM in the game until Mechs and Mercs came out. I’m not kidding from the day they were released until a year ago they were number 1. Why? BSC hit for about 1500% damage at lvl 1 and with booster going all you saw was numbers.

To you people pro revamp (for buccs at least), do you guys realize we welcome an increase in damage, and new moves but what we don’t agree with is the removal of st and demo (for some people), st was a move that made buccs unique to every class, when you saw someone in st @ lhc or someone you think to yourself there goes a bucc. Now nexon eliminates our uniqueness by adding in some flashy unoriginal moves, like that laser, they could have easily kept our moves and given us better damage, like a warrior revamp. shame on you nexon, shame on you
