MapleStory Winter Update Preview!
A new letter was sent to members of Maple Club Henesys, which talked about the Winter update for this year! It mentions a huge system update with more powerful items and says that it will be beyond our imagination!
Now for the image, it says “What is the identity of he who makes the Maple World shake with fear?!” Could this be the Resistance thief, Automata? We can see that he’s holding a sword on his back.
It might also be a new boss… who are those minions behind him, and where is this picture anyways? Some people are saying that this person looks similar to Demon Slayer, and possibly his brother Damien. What do you guys think?

there is a shadow of the black mage over the right gate, or some one in a hood. and maybe someone else on the left. maybe its just part of the gate. but its not temple of time

My guess would be that this is Automata.
However, his storyline will go something like this….
When the DS’s house was destroyed by the commanders, Damien lived, but was seriously wounded. A few days later, some high tech bandit peeps found him, fixed him up, and trained him. He one day finds his older bro/sis, and decides to join the resistance…..
OR
he just hears about the resistance and joins it for revenge aainst those who kiled his mother
Good story line. If i had to pick one i would pick the 1st one.

Okay, confession time. When I was still just a noob(oh wait I still am) I accidentally used flame arrow on leafre. I saw a boy who looked like Damien who bumped into me and somehow we switched minds. I now forever possess the power of Damien (being half demon) AND the ability to transform into a sparkly unicorn. … Then I woke up.
Hmm. Well we can obviously conclude he/she is related to Demon Slayer. If Dr. Gellimer created him/her after a freak accident, then he/she would have to have at one point been evil. And if he/she was evil, he/she must be good now if they joined the Resistance. So, he/she would have to have been evil and became good, which seems rather similar to Demon Slayer’s original story arch… Further more: As previously explained, he/she seems to have minions. That probably means he/she will be a boss. As that no classes in Maplestory currently can summon minions. Now, I say currently because if he/she is to become the “Automata,” and can summon minions, that would make a pretty kewl class. It would probably raise controversy, and people would surely say, “MS fucked up n0w!” But, we all have probably all seen “Automata’s” skills from beginner up until hyper. At no point did it say “Automata” could summon an army. It could be in a patch coming later, but that’s really doubtful. GyroBeatz’s possible prologue seemed to be rather sound in his first explanation. His story line seemed very, “Mapley.” I’m pretty sure Demon Slayer had a sibling, and we know that his house was burnt and ravaged. It’s possible that Demon Slayer’s sibling’s eye and hands (glowy parts) were either scarred or burned or both. He/She could have just wanted revenge, and the Resistance provided the tools necessary for him/her. Although in my opinion, this is likely an evil boss. Don’t take my word for it though. This is merely my speculation, or rather my wish.

The mark/tattoo on the right eye looks similar (Left of picture) And the hair looks a bit similar too, but of course the top one has to age. Just a speculation for now, but we’ll see when it actually arrives.. Ermahgerd!
I think this could easily be Damian AND the Automata.
Demon slayer was a valuable commander to the black mages army. When the black mage had Demon Slayers village attacked who’s to say it wasn’t to seek out Damian? Demon Slayer possessed powers black mage wanted but couldn’t completely control, but he also had a brother who could be molded.
Black Mage had Arkarium seek out his brother and kidnap him to create a super soldier without Demon Slayers knowledge. He didn’t want the soldier to possess a free will so he turned to control, and what better way to control someone than cybernetics.
Black Mage had experiments done on Damian to infuse him with cybernetic powers both so he could be stronger and so black mage could control better control him. When Black Mage was sealed away Damian was left in some undisclosed location in a test tube.
Flash forward to current time and Black Wings possess Demon Slayers brother and the cybernetic half demon, Damian. They release Damian when they think they can control him, but Damian finds his brother fighting for the resistance and joins him in the struggle for true freedom.
I just really want this person to be Automata and not another good character design wasted on a boss. He is so badass looking.
I d say it is new class, because recently experience told us nexon will never put a new boss before a new class being introduced. I also hope he is Damien because he has wings, special feature of demon’s in maplestory.

The new class will probably get a lot of crap just for being new, but the ever increasing strength of items and equipment is where the true game imbalances come from.
Then again, since almost all difficulty in MapleStory is fake difficulty, I guess bigger numbars are the only thing they can think of to improve gameplay. Or those annoying as fuck jump quests.
But if they’re going to double down on doing the same thing as always, the least they could do is get rid of the ability to bribe your way to victory with cash shop items. Alas, gone are the days before gachapon ruined MapleStory forever. Now it’s all about hitting the damage cap using “more powerful items.” Why even have a cap in the first place?
At least Automaton will be flashy and cool for all of 5 minutes.

Took him to his lab. I was thinking because of the recent post of Xenon and Demon Avenger, the character in the image MAY be a black wing commander. (Not entirely sure) It can also be the resurrected brother, Damien, who was brainwashed by the black mage in order to think that the “DemonSlayer” destroyed the village. There’s a problem though. The character in the image does NOT have any wings. I assume all demons have wings. (Mastema has wings if I do believe so.) So one or two things are for certain. A: He isn’t a demon and B: That coat he’s wearing is DEFINETELY a black wing. coat

Also, he ain’t xenon. He is one of the black mage commanders, and he COMMANDS RA bosses. (Play maplestory to figure this out, lol) So he is stronger than RA bosses. And chaos vellum ain’t exactly easy….
