kMSt ver. 1.2.469 – Root Abyss Chaos Boss and Monster Experience Changes
In this patch, there were some changes to the Root Abyss Chaos mode bosses, as well as changes to experience of some monsters, party quests, and Dimension Invade. They also let Mr. Goldstein in Lith Harbor level us up to 201!

- HP has been adjusted
Chaos Von Bon
- HP has been adjusted
- Von Bon’s clone in the other map’s HP has been adjusted
Chaos Bloody Queen
- HP has been adjusted
- Fire debuff’s damage has been adjusted
- Firestorm’s damage has been adjusted
- You can now use Hero’s Will to rid yourself of seduce
Chaos Vellum
- HP has been adjusted, clear time has been adjusted accordingly
- Some attacks have been added
- Stun caused by stalactites will ignore your resistance, and its duration has been adjusted accordingly
- Poison’s damage and range have been adjusted
The Root Abyss set effects have been changed. You now gain 20 of your main and sub stat as well as 1000 HP and MP for wearing 2 equips, 10% HP and MP and 20 attack/magic attack for 3 equips, and 20 attack/magic attack and 40% boss damage for 4 equips.
Certain areas’ monster experience has been adjusted. This includes party quests, Evolving System, Dimension Invade, Lab – Area C-1 and C-2, Red Nosed Pirates’ Den, and Training Hall 1 and 2. I’m not sure if they increased or decreased it…
All party quests and Dimension Invade’s daily entry count have been changed to 5 times per day. I guess if they increased the experience it would sort of make sense, however I don’t know about you but I get the most experience in party quests from clearing it, not from the monsters inside.
For Evolving System, they added in Cores for the 5 Cygnus instructors. They also reduced the time limit from 30 minutes to 20 minutes.
I didn’t realize they added it, but last patch the Knights of Cygnus tutorial was renewed. Here’s a video of it (thanks to skycombat for the video)!
They added in some quests at level 120 for Knights of Cygnus, which are pretty interesting. I’m not too sure but I think this is when Damian attacks Ereb, during a regular Alliance meeting. One of the quests is called Awakening, so I believe that video of Empress Cygnus crying would go in here… (thanks to Youku KMSFan for the video)
Oh yeah, I also found out that they changed the quests for the Noble Mind skill! Previously, you had to do the long quest line in the Temple of Time and defeat Arkairum 6 times. Now, you just have to talk to Nineheart every 5 levels from 125 to 150.
There was a new Cash item added, called the Owl of Tote. You can only search for equipment with it, but the plus side is that you can choose to specify a certain stat that you would like it to have.
For example, I can choose to search only for Fafnir Windchaser with over 2000% boss damage (one of the things you can get from Additional Options, this item does not search for potential stats).
They also added Luminous into Monster Life! There are three different kinds, aren’t they cute~? They added 3 stages of Mir as well, but they look the same as regular so that’s no fun.

I know right? What a mistake and wasted time. I a very huge fan of all warriors, but when Mihile came out, I didn’t even bother trying him out. Still havent either. noting new or original about him and overall, just looks too damn boring.

The 4th job comes… More Kamehameha lines and a different color, oh joy! =_= I honestly think Mihile was a mistake. At least that isn’t how Dawn Warriors will be ending up, most likely.

Wait, when you create a Noblesse now, can you choose who shows up? Like, in the video Hawkeye showed up, or is it that you can only make Strikers now since they’re the only one with a revamp so far :s
The tutorial will be the same for all Cygnus, but there will be quests from the other Cygnus instructors at the end I believe. As you can see, when he gets to the main Ereb map, only Hawkeye has a quest for him (because only Striker has been reorganized so far).

Lol never happening. Our first level 200’s are all Adventurers and with the current adventurer’s DPM, which is close to the bottom, it is not likely for them to take top with those other OP jobs out there like DB, and other jobs that are broken.
I bet the job that is going to take first place is going to be a DB or Xenon. Who else want to bet with me. Place your votes on the job that is going to take place in KMS, GMS, CMS, JMS, and other MS’s

Gms players praise kms for doing things like making lhc useless and nerfing the exp on high lvl training spots? I think gms needs a better community because it’s already time consuming to lvl up now. i dont want pre big bang to happen again and idk why people actually complain about people lvling up fast.

Seriously? With the current PQ system, people grind all the way until they believe it is time to change the training spot. I believe if they are going to limit our PQ to 5 a day, then they should make the PQ more challenging and more worth it. That way there would be more sociability like back then when many of us raged when a Spanish dude didn’t know how to do the PQ and we try to speak spanish trying to make him understand in Romeo& Juliet PQ. This was the only good part about Pre- BB. I never really liked pre-BB other than the way it kind of required more sociability to complete certain things in the game.
What do we do in the PQ these days? Kill all the monster and then kill some more. Then we get some free stuff for killing which most of us throw out. It is so fun~ (sarcasm)
they nerf normal mob xp(alrdy proven).
They then add pqs(easy high lvl content) that give quite good xp.
all pqs will give out more xp , thats why the currently existing ones will get a decrease in daily limit.
So they punish hardcore grinders(so far, havent seen the new training spots), and reward the teamplayers etc
Then they should have kept the pq limit at 10 instead of 5 QQ

Actually, according to some calculations, people predict that the exp required for 249-250 would be at least 16 trillion. It would take approximately 42 years if you train 1-200 everyday to reach 250.

OK this is just stupid now…. This is why Maplestory will never be a good game ever again. They made the EXP system far too unreasonable… They increased the HP, damage, def, etc and now they decrease the monster EXP rate… They just made it pretty much impossible for all jobs with low HP/jobs that can’t tank such as NLs to make it to level 250. I believe they need to remake the HP system for all jobs. It is obviously very unfair how NLs pretty much are the most venerable job in the game and could die easily. Now that they increased the monster’s damage which will make all non-tanky jobs heal every time they get hit. This is very pot killing and has been very unfair ever since Paladins have truly become a tank. That also goes for all the other jobs that can tank as well.
Whenever i play new jobs these days i barely payed anything for pots because they can tank so much or their Max HP is so high i level before i even need to heal. Right now a level 100 Kaiser has just the same amount of HP as my level 200 NL. At this rate my Kaiser will have like 250% more HP than my NL by the time he becomes level 200. Not only a Kaiser has 250% of my NL’s HP but he also has a higher Def making it harder to die on a Kaiser.
Pretty much all the Bowman has the Def problem as well but BM, WH, and Snipers has HP buffs which make the monster’s damage not matter much. They can at least take two hits before the next hit will kill them while a NL can only take one. Even if NLs has Shadow Shifter, 45% proc rate is still less than half. It is obviously not fair.
Nexon needs to revamp the HP system….
They need to give adventure theifs their avoidablity back… pre-bb they had the most avoid.. now they get hit everytime

you do realize pre-unlimited luk jobs have 100% avoid with high enough luk rite?

That is very interesting. My NL has around 1.3-1.5k LUK. At SH when i was still training i was hit about 70% of the time and the monsters does around 7k per touch damage. I could only take one hit unless you want me to risk the second hit hoping that I could avoid the next hit.
BTW: When you said that all jobs that are LUK based have 100% avoid rate then you are wrong. DBs are the only job that i know who got the 100% miss rate. You probably never even played certain jobs and here you are trying to act like you know it all. I have played all the other Thief based jobs other than the new ones that are in KMS and Night Walker since it is the same as NL. If you want me to tell you the difference in terms of survivability then here it is:
Shadower: Same as NL in terms of dodge rate but has Meso Guard so pretty much like a warrior. The HP is pretty decent and much better than NL
DB: THe dodge rate is broken compared to NL. Its HP is little more than NLs as well.
Phantom: HP is just like NL and his dodge rate is just like NLs but has other/more possible buffs that can help out in survivability. HB, magic guard, and his very own buff that gives HP and resistance. He even have a skill that revives him if he dies.
I am sure you can see what i am trying to say now. All the other thief based jobs are better than NLs in many ways.
but night lord is a ranged class, they dont have to go up to the monster and suffer from the touch damage
range and no range doesnt matter when ur high lvl… most high lvl monsters have range attacks
In the new Cygnus tutorial; are the beginner skills given out at the 4:11~5:00 section when the player talks to the Chief Knights, or are they already in the beginner skillbook before hand?
I’d really hate to restart my Noblesse to get a neat 190%x3 skill.
Also, does that mean that talking to that Chief Knight during that portion locks you into that potential job with skills similar? Or will we not know until the Wind Archer revamps?

in GMS, many people stop playing after LV200, can’t very boss anymore since all the boss are like design for the people w/ dmg wh0re through CS and never get rid of hackers. I came in last time and it’s like at LHC first map every channel has a hacker on.

Oh ho ho. No you don’t seem to understand the numbers involved. 1-200 is a total of about 3billion I believe. The estimated cumulative amount for 200-250 is about 100trillion. Over one thousand times larger. Considering the amount of exp monsters give out, and the current nerf in exp for some monsters, it will take years to reach lvl250. But Nexon will most likely, not follow that exp estimation or have monsters that give enormous amounts of exp.

Sigh they should have just kept this game like it was back then before bb and simply adding all these new ways to get exp. maybe even decrease it slightly so it doesn’t feel like a hassle. but hey they want money and the moronic people who are willing to spend thousands of dollars on this game will do it and since they see their money scam works they continue it… I quit the game not fun anymore at all. The social aspect of the game is dead and only way to get decent weapons or even good ones now is with either extreme luck, or you throw your money/parents money down the drain.
