Another patch has come to Tespia, this time with some slight skill changes, new UI (!) and more changes to professions as well as to the mastery book and skill book systems~

I can’t access Tespia at the moment so I will have to use images from Insoya, and they are lacking…

Maple Island quests have been reorganized! The quests will be divided into two parts, the beginner’s guide and the Adventurer storyline. If you wish, you can skip the guide, but you must do the storyline quests. They also updated the NPCs and artwork! I love it~

Adventurer Maple Leaf

Oh yeah, they expanded on the Adventurer story line, up to level 80 or 90 (I can’t remember). I think its a great idea to keep it going, hopefully it even stretches into 4th job!

Return of the Black Mage

And I think it’s related to the Adventurer story line, but guess who’s back~?

Maple Auction (which was made available for use a couple of patches ago but I totally missed that) has received some changes. You will now correctly receive notifications about your auctions. In addition, when putting a Use/Etc./Cash item up for sale, you will be able to see the average price for the item. An auto-complete feature has been added into the quick search so you can find the items you are looking for.

New Character Stat

The stat information window has been renewed! Some stats have been moved around based on their importance and you can now see your total boss damage and defense ignore on it as well~

New Equipment Inventory

The equipment window has also been renewed! It is now seperated into different tabs, the first for game items (your regular equipment), Cash items, pet equipment, and Android information. If you are a special job such as Mechanic, Evan, or Angelic Burster, there will also be a tab for your specific equipment.

New Quest Window

Likewise, the quest window has been renewed. In the ‘available’ tab you can now search through the quests there and for some, you can even automatically start them through the window! The ‘in progress’ tab has been slightly changed in order to make it easier to find the quest summary, the items you need, and the rewards you will receive. It allows you to automatically complete quests through the window as well.

The ‘party quest’ tab has been renamed to ‘recommended content’ and will now show content that might be good for you to participate in. In addition, the information given for these types of content has become more detailed and easier to read.

Item Upgrade

In order to use various scrolls and items that enhance your equipment easier, a new item upgrade window has been added! You can open it by pressing the hammer icon at the bottom of the item inventory.

After you open it, your mouse will turn into a hammer and you can choose the equipment you wish to enhance as well as the Use item you wish to use to enhance it. After both the equipment and use item are in the window, you can press the Upgrade button to apply its effects.

Scrolling NPC Balalio

The scroll helper Balalio who allowed you to use Legendary Spirit without having the skill has been deleted due to the functionality of the new item upgrading UI.

Artisan's Cube Master's Cube

The profession system has received three new additions! The profession of blacksmithing can now create Cubes, accessory crafting can now create Flames of Reincarnation, and alchemy can now create bags.

Strong Flame of Reincarnation Eternal Flame of Reincarnation

Blacksmiths can create two types of cubes, the Artisan’s Cube (which can go up to Unique) and the Master’s Cube (which can go up to Legendary and has a higher chance to raise the rank of your item). Accessory crafters can create the Strong Flame of Reincarnation which has a higher chance of giving high stats and the Eternal Flame of Reincarnation which gives the highest stats possible but has a 1% chance of destroying your item.

You will be able to find Artisan’s Cubes and Strong Flames both through hunting monsters and creating them through professions, but the other two will only be available through production. If you are successful in creating one of the Meister equipment, Master’s Cube or the Eternal Flame of Reincarnation, a message will be broadcasted to the entire world.

Cube Extractor Scroll Extractor

Two new types of Extractors have been added. The first, the Cube Extractor can be used to extract Strange Cubes. The second is the Scroll Extractor and can extract any non-Cash Shop scrolls as well as Flames of Reincarnation. The materials that you receive are used in the creation of Cubes, Flames, and Bags. Even if you have not learned Alchemy, you can use Extractors laid down by other users who have.

Now, when you are mining or collecting herbs, you will have a chance to find the rare materials mentioned above.

New Veins and Flowers

There were a lot of other changes to professions this patch. First of all, you can now chat while mining or herb collecting. You can also use the profession UI to move directly to Meisterville (unless you are in combat or in certain maps where it is not available).

Some item’s material requirements and fatigue as well as their cooldowns have been adjusted. Essence of Twisted Time (new material introduced last patch for the new Meister items) has had its droprate increased and will now drop from any monsters or bosses level 95 or higher. Speaking of which, last patch the Meister weapons had their images copied from the Scarlet weapons, but now they have received their own designs.

The things sold by the merchant in Meisterville have been adjusted. The experience required to become a Master or Artisan has been adjusted. You can now turn the effects from the Master/Artisan system on and off if you wish. The types of elixirs you can use together has been adjusted.

The types of flowers and veins that appear on maps will now depend on the levels of the monsters there, and with higher levels, higher-grade flowers/veins will appear. New types have been added such as the Secret Vein, Secret Flower, and Secret Legendary Flower. They all drop new items that are required to create the new items added in this patch.

Silver Mane

Mounts that require a saddle (such as the Adventurer ones, Cygnus, Aran, Evan, and Rex’s Hyena) will now be changed into ‘skill’ mounts, so they no longer require a saddle or the Monster Rider skill.

Magnus

Hard Magnus’ drop rate of the Cursed Kaiserium has been increased greatly. The quests that allowed you to turn the Cursed Kaiserium into the Liberated Kaiserium has had its requirement of 150 Cursed Horn’s Aura reduced to 5. 

Now, when fighting monsters, they will be more likely to drop equipment that your character can wear.

Red Cube Black Cube

In the Cash Shop, to eliminate confusion and difficulty in choosing what to buy, all types of Cubes have been deleted. Now, there are only two new Cubes, the Red Cube and the Black Cube.

10 Red Cube Fragments can be traded in for an Advanced Potential Scroll and 20 can get you a Perfect Potential Stamp which gives 100% chance to add a line of potential to an item.

5 Black Cube Fragments gives you an Advanced Enhancement Scroll, 15 gives you a Perfect Potential Stamp, and 30 gets you a Special Additional Potential Stamp which has a 100% chance of adding Additional Potential to an item.

Using a Black Cube

Red Cubes are just regular cubes I believe, they can go up to Legendary. Black Cubes however, when used, will show you the potential before and after and then you can choose which you would like to keep! They also go up to Legendary.

The Maple Mileage system has been added! Now, you will gain Mileage if you complete the following:

  • Defeat Normal or Chaos Zakum
  • Defeat Normal or Hard Hilla
  • Defeat Normal or Chaos Horntail
  • Defeat Van Leon
  • Defeat Arkarium
  • Defeat Normal or Chaos Pink Bean
  • Defeat Normal or Hard Magnus
  • Defeat Empress Cygnus
  • Complete Moon Bunny’s Rice Cake PQ
  • Complete First Accompaniment PQ
  • Complete Traces of the Goddess PQ
  • Complete Ice Knight’s Curse PQ
  • Complete Forest of Poison Fog PQ
  • Complete Pirate Davy Jones PQ
  • Complete Escape PQ
  • Complete Kenta in Danger PQ
  • Complete Resurrection of the Hob King PQ

The Mileage you gather will be used in the Cash Shop. When you purchase a Cash item, you can pay up to 30% of the cost with your Mileage instead!

Armadillo Pets

Three new pets have been added, Peachdillo, Lemondillo, and Greendillo!

Bucklerman's Mastery Book Shop

The mastery book system has been reorganized! There are no longer specific skill mastery books, you must buy universal ones from Bucklerman in Leafre and Henesys. These books when used will allow you to choose one of your skills to increase the master level of (and it includes Maple Warrior!). Dual Blades can buy scrolls from an NPC in their base (DB scrolls will no longer be sold in the Cash Shop).

Due to the removal of Mastery Books, you can now trade them in  to any Maple Admin for Mastery Book 20 and Mastery Book 30.

The requirement of skill books for all job skills including Maple Warrior and Hero’s Will has been removed. You will now learn all skills automatically upon advancing.

Certain skills such as thieves’ Fake, Luminous’ Light Shadow Guard, and Paladin’s Shield Mastery all have effects which avoid or Guard against attacks from monsters. Before, if one of these attacks inflicted a status effect, even if you successfully avoided/Guarded the attack, you would still be afflicted with the status, but now, you will correctly avoid/Guard against it as well.

Return to Maple

Two new skill quests have been added for Adventurers. The first is at level 10 and is titled Returning to Maple Island. It gives adventurers the Return to Maple beginner skill which as you guessed, lets you teleport to Maple Island.

Cruiser Artillery

The second is at level 150 for Captains and is titled A True Captain’s Riding, Battleship Bomber which I assume will give you access to the new skill Battleship Bomber.

Skill Changes

White Knight

  • Blessing Armor Blessing Armor: in addition to existing effects, after the shield is created damage taken will be reduced by 25%

Paladin

  • Advanced Charge Advanced Charge: damage per Charge has been increased from 3% to 5%, in addition to existing effects, Advanced Charge’s extra hit boost to the Charge skills will now apply to Blast as well
  • Void Elemental Void Elemental: in addition to existing effects, Void Elemental’s boost to Charge skills allowing them to ignore elemental resistances will now apply to Blast as well

Dark Knight

  • Gungnir Descent Gungnir Descent: due to the strong buff from Cross Over Chain as well as the ease of healing through Power Elixirs and Beholder’s Healing to keep your HP full, this skill’s damage has been decreased from 330% to 312%

Fire/Poison Archmage

  • Mist Eruption Mist Eruption: delay has been increased

Bishop

  • Angel Ray Angel Ray: Angel Ray’s arrow can now hit monsters slightly above and below your current position instead of simply firing straight
  • Big Bang Big Bang: damage has been increased from 427% to 480%
  • Vengeance of Angel Vengeance of Angel: in addition to existing effects, while this skill is not active Angel Ray’s damage will be increased

Bowmaster

  • Arrow Platter Arrow Platter: installed duration time has been increased from 20 seconds to 30 seconds

Crossbowman

  • Net Throwing Net Throwing: in addition to existing effects, bosses hit with this skill will have their movement speed halved for 3 seconds

Marksman

  • Sniping Sniping: damage limit has been increased to 300m
  • New! Sniping – Limit Canceller: Sniping’s damage cap is increased to 400m.
  • Sniping - Bonus Attack Removed! Sniping – Bonus Attack

Assassin

  • Mark of Assassin Mark of Assassin: the effect when a monster with a mark is hit has been changed to use the stars you are currently using

Hermit

Triple Throw Effect

  • Triple Throw Triple Throw: effect and intervals between stars  have been changed to what it was before Justice
  • Shade Split Shade Split: number of hits has been decreased from 3 to 1
  •  Dark Flare: in addition to existing effects, now deals 280% damage every 0.9 seconds

Night Lord

  • Mark of Night Lord Mark of Night Lord: the effect when a monster with a mark is hit has been changed to use the stars you are currently using

Quadruple Throw Effect

  • Quadruple Throw Quadruple Throw: effect and intervals between stars  have been changed
  • Four Seasons Four Seasons: due to the 15 hit cap, this skill’s number of hits has been decreased from 10 to 7 and its damage has been increased from 250% to 358%
  • Bleeding Toxin Bleeding Toxin: in addition to existing effects Bleeding Toxin now gives 30 attack
  • New! Purge Area – Boss Killer: Purge Area affects bosses.
  • Purge Area - Cooltime Reduce Removed! Purge Area – Cooltime Reduce

Bandit

  • Meso Guard Meso Guard: a maximum of 10 mesos can be used to guard against one attack now, in addition to existing effects, mesos used to guard against attacks will now be dropped on the floor

Chief Bandit

Meso Explosion Effect

  • Meso Explosion Meso Explosion: mesos will now fly directly at a monster instead of just exploding where they are on the ground, damage has been decreased from 204% to 102%, maximum number of mesos exploded has been increased from 15 to 25, effect has been renewed
  •  Pickpocket: Pickpocket will now activate on external damage such as poison
  • Muspelheim Muspelheim: range has been increased, number of mesos moved has been increased from 15 to 45
  •  Dark Flare: in addition to existing effects, now deals 360% damage every 0.9 seconds

Shadower

  • New! Meso Explosion – Ignore Guard
  • Meso Explosion - Extra Target Removed! Meso Explosion – Extra Target

Pirate

  • Dash Dash: effects have been restored to original values (50 speed, 20 jump, 20 second duration)

Buccaneer

  • Energy Buster Energy Buster: number of monsters hit has been increased from 6 to 8
  • Hedgehog Buster Hedgehog Buster: number of monsters hit has been increased from 6 to 8

Viper

  • Fist Enrage Fist Enrage (Energy Charge): has been renamed Fist Outrage, number of hits has been decreased from 9 to 8
  • New! Double Lucky Dice – One More Chance: If failed, there is a 40% chance to gain one more chance to roll a 4 or more with Double Lucky Dice.
  • Double Lucky Dice - Reinforce Removed! Double Lucky Dice – Reinforce 

Gunslinger

  • Summon Crew Summon Crew: damage has been increased (Valerie from 220% to 280%, Muirhart from 180% to 230%, Jack from 90% to 160%), Crew’s AI has been improved, in addition to existing effects if you move too far away from a crew member they will teleport to you

Valkyrie

Assemble Crew (Stoner) Effect

  • Assemble Crew Assemble Crew: damage has been increased (Valerie from 300% to 560%, Muirhart from 310% to 500%, Jack from 240% to 320%, Stoner from 320% to 480%), Stoner’s effects have been renewed

Captain

  • Battleship Bomber Battleship Bomber: damage has been decreased from 540% to 325%, number of hits has been increased from 1 to 3, extra effect has been changed from every 10th cannon to every 5th, height has been lowered in order to have a better hitbox
  • Fusillade Fusillade: due to the removal of this skill’s Hypers, damage has been increased from 590% to 649%, number of monsters hit has been increased from 6 to 8
  • New! Head Shot – Reinforce: Head Shot’s damage is increased by 20%.
  • New! Head Shot – Bonus Attack: Head Shot’s number of hits is increased by 1.
  • New! Head Shot – Cooltime Reduce: Head Shot’s cooldown is removed.
  • New! Double Lucky Dice – One More Chance: If failed, there is a 40% chance to gain one more chance to roll a 4 or more with Double Lucky Dice.
  • Double Lucky Dice - Reinforce Removed! Double Lucky Dice – Reinforce
  • Fusillade - Reinforce Removed! Fusillade – Reinforce

        is anyone else annoyed that KMS jacked everything about the CMS/GMS ui that made it BETTER than that of KMS’s? I know I am. Now they get all the cool features that we thought they couldn’t get, AND ui that is both better looking AND more practical than what we got! Yay! the ONLY thing they didn’t get that CMS got out of their new ui is the extra quickslots which enable you to monitor the cooldowns of even MORE skills, but that’s like, the ONE feature we didn’t get from CMS’s UI, convenient that we don’t get the ONE thing from CMS’s UI that affects gameplay while STILL being stuck with the crappy CMS ui, which KMS now gets EVERYTHING from it that WE did, while still keeping the better ui, and, in fact, updates all RELEVANT UI to match their other ui changes.

        Someone PLEASE start a Petition to change to KMS’S new UI on the maple website’s forum. Please!

            You realize that Wizet can sell licensing rights for the game they develop, yes? Each company that has these rights technically owns MapleStory. If this were not the case, you would not have many of the regional variants that exist today. The particular reason why NexonKR has the majority of the updates first is because Wizet is based in Korea. Many of the companies/branches outside of Korea could try catching up, but it wouldn’t be productive since they would still be behind due to having to translate content.

          JMS’s supposed “exclusive” content Hayato and Kanna, GMS eventually got it.

          It’s all the same maplestory…Why can’t they work together?

          Korea is the birth place…they have the right to control the game…+ KMS probably just passed the new UI and contents and launched them first in GMS and CMS so that others can have fun faster!

            For the LAST TIME. Hayato and Kanna were never meant to be exclusive to Japan. I mean, it’s evident from the fact that they referred to them as version ORIGINAL and not version EXCLUSIVE, that JMS’s developers are smart enough to realize that no content ever remains exclusive to a specific version, and eventually gets ported to other regions, and thusly in acknowledgement of that fact, called them version ORIGINAL, because it is ORIGINAL to JMS, but it will almost CERTAINLY not stay exclusive, and it DIDN’T. It was the PLAYERS that called Hayato/Kanna JMS exclusive, the developers had always called it JMS original content because they KNEW, that 99% of all supposedly “exclusive” content is eventually ported to another version.

            Also, if they simply passed the new UI to CMS/GMS first, then it would have the same design in KMS that it did in GMS/CMS, and not just implement all the same features, but reworking the visuals to fit the current theme in KMS. No, what they did is took everything good about CMS’s/GMS’s UI and worked it into their OWN UI, while leaving out all the cruddy bits PLUS, they also get FULL widescreen, which there is a good chance neither GMS nor CMS is getting. Well, they left ONE good thing out, there are still only 8 quickslots instead of 12, but the only bad news is, that’s ALSO the one good thing GMS left out of the UI ports, so GMS is, once again, left with all of the bad, and none of the good, out of the deal. If GMS kept CMS’s bottom bar, then AT LEAST we’d have ONE thing over KMS, but NO. We still are limited to a mere 8 quickslots just as KMS is, KMS has the better design that neither GMS nor CMS got, plus a feature that neither GMS nor CMS will be likely to get, whilst CMS has 1 feature that neither KMS nor GMS got, and what, pray tell, did GMS get out of the UI that neither KMS nor CMS got out of it? NOTHING!

          I hope you know that Nexon Korea owns MapleStory, and thus KMS is the original version. All the other servers are just their region-specific variants. By your logic, someone playing on KMS could be complaining that CMS is getting KMS content. Have you ever considered that the CMS was chosen to test planned UI changes?

          Also, another thing I am annoyed at: In GMS, bits, bit boxes (from the unlimited shop that give random bits), and bit cases ALL have a 30-day expiration period. I think it’s stupid. Which reminds me, Max, do bits and bit cases expire in KMS? Because when things like this expire, gear, chairs, titles, and all that, you normally “say too bad they’re time limited” when you introduce them. Also, you never ONCE mentioned them expiring in your blog, and any information I find on them that doesn’t specifically pertain to GMS (basically all info on the bits system other than those that can be found on the GMS site) doesn’t mention expiring. I mean, the info that maplewiki has on bits doesn’t mention them expiring, but it seems like it could’ve just been information from the KMS patch notes reiterated. I’m thinking GMS may have added the expiration date. So Max, I ask you, did bits, bit cases and all that expire in KMS too?

    Been waiting for a long time for an update that will make me start playing Maple Story again. The removal of skillbooks was a close call, but anything else… I don’t want to live on Maple planet anymore.

    Ugh, the new hyperskill for snipe sucks. Snipe shouldn’t have been touched at all, and it should still be 490% x 9.

        I do believe that Snipe will only be 1 hit all the time now. It got to three because of the skill that allowed an extra hit to attacks that hit multiple times.

            that’s not a nerf. before it only hit 3 times at 720% with a max of 50m total without hypers, and 2,160%, with a max of 150m total WITH hypers, now, it hits 4,410% with a max of 300m without hypers, and 4410% with a max of 400m with them, so its better now than before. unless your talking about the way it was in the previous TEST server update, which, of course, snipe’s changes were OBVIOUSLY always meant to come with the removal of the hyper skill that increased its hitcounts. If it wasn’t an oversight, then it’d be WAY too overpowered. We’re talking like DOUBLE Kaiser’s dps. So obviously, if you’re talking about from the last server, you can’t call it a nerf because A. it was a test server, still is, in fact, so the changes were never official, and B. You can almost GUARENTEE that they never intended snipe to keep the hyper skill that boosted its hitcount, especially since the description Nexon gave Marksmen at their R.E.D. press conference was “Master of one-hit, one-kill techniques! Marksman!”, which obviously meant marksmen would be focused around single hit skills that had high skill %s and damage caps

          Nah it should still hit twice I think. It’s own hyper got removed, but there is still that hyper that adds an additional line to EVERY ATTACK. Ergo, 2 lines per snipe.

            that passive only works on skills with more than 1 hit, they purposely remove the additional hit of snipe so that skill wont work too and it will only hit once!! so the dmg % of snipe is 1/3 of its dmg before this changes!! the new hyper skill of snipe is really useless for me, i wont even waste my points to up it!!!

      It’s funny, cause GMS hasn’t got the equivalent to RED yet; if you are referring to the UI update, sure it looks more crisp than Unleashed, but I’d say they are lacking one feature, and that is adding multiple SP into a skill at once. Once GMS and other serves get the equivalent to RED, they should get the crisper and more organized version of their current UI, so yeah :/

    The Meso explosion was changed so that the mesos will directly fly at the monsters instead of stationary explosion.
    Pickpocket now produces mesos even from external damage such as venom
    Also, the pets will not pick up mesos produced by pickpocket

      Cross over chain alone makes DK worlds better then it was pre-revamp.

    I think I prefer the old UI, but I guess I'll have to deal. The events for the red update are not listed, though they are in the patch notes. I'm happy with the events, and they are adding a new server, we get exp pots daily and a ring at 70 which you can upgrade at 130? I think. Still, unsure of the stats but everything looks decent enough. XD

    Max, does the new auction hall require the use of nexon cash?< Cause that would really suck. XD

      In his previous blog, it said that Maplestory (Korea) was moving to be less relied on NX like it used to be so it would make sense that the auction house be free use, hence why they are making cubes craftable. The auction house now allows regular users who don’t spend money a chance against the big FM controllers.

      Basically, because it was changed last patch so that while Vengeance is activated bishops can only hit one mob. They added a damage increase buff when the skill IS NOT activated to compensate for not having that boosted mob damage.

      Basically if you have it off, you get a damage boost and you can mob. If you turn it on, it becomes a soloing skill which, is stupid really all it does is lower the damage but increase the number of hits. It’s really useless now, when on. Idk why they changed it. Seems pointless.

      These prices are UNREASONABLE? They are the prices you’d NORMALLY buy a book for in the FM, AND these ones are guaranteed to work, AND they’re able to raise the mastery of the uber expensive maple warrior, so even IF universal means they apply to ALL skills at once and not that they can work for ANY skill, or that they can work for any class, these are still better than what we’ve got right now. Also, the level 10 books were removed, and that’s even MORE cost saving.

        Well for one thing, many classes (Marksman, F/P, WH, Mech) have extremely cheap mastery books. Books they would normally be paying 1m or less for now cost 14m and 20m. Yes, MW is much easier to get now, but they’re by no means the regular price of the books. Also, not all classes use skillbooks in the first place so that’s not necessarily cost saving.

          Well that’s because Nexon has been slowly removing skill books over the years. Almost every class once had to get skill books at one point. For them to remove the need for skill books on let’s say Bishops to get Res, Gene, AR, & Bahamut and then 2 years later remove that need on other characters it would be unfair for bishops to say, “Well we get nothing..”

        Taunt has been working with SP since the last Tespia update. They made a stealth server-sided fix, so you would only see it in the newer videos of the previous Tespia update. It’s now our primary 4th job mobbing skill.

      Throw animations aren’t show as fast as they are while attacking with Booster.
      Shade split is only used until 4th job now which is a good improvement.
      They changed the stars to a stream of them like old timez.

        Your lack of knowledge is showing. The person was actually spot on. QT went from 600 ms at faster (2) to 750 ms at faster (2). That is a 25% nerf on the attack speed. Shade Split has become weaker than even Shuriken Burst (a 2nd job mobber) now, so I have no idea what they were trying to accomplish by lowering the hits from 3 to 1. TT might have been changed to pre-Justice form, but QT has been made into a not so great animation now. There’s a hop step you create as you fire with the skill, while creating an “x”.

            Before RED: 510% x 10 = 5100%, defense ignore: 40%, damage cap: 50m
            After RED: 4430% x 1 = 4430%, defense ignore: 20%, damage cap: 400m

            For exemple with 10k rang and without that bonus is :10×4,9(snipe)x1,5(critical) so 73,5K each hit in avarage, but with the hyper you get 20%dmg in ur rang so 12kX4,9X1,5>88,2k in avarage each hit not like in the skill(that’s lower bonus)10kX5,1X1,5>76,5K it’s like nothing compared to 20%dmg, so the more rang the more bonus got it?

            the bonus is passive for only that skill so it won’t incrase ur rang, if you have a bonus attack it have the bonus %dmg in ur rang as well

      I don’t think you understand how your bishop hyper works.
      Basically, AR is still a regular mob attack skill that hits more than 1, but when Vengeance of Angel (toggle hyper skill) is on, your AR is changed to hit 1 monster with lots more damage (great for bossing). When you switch it off again, AR is changed back to normal, hitting less damage on more mobs.

          It’s more of a link between VA & AR like if you up VA then AR’s damage when VA is off and when VA is on is both boosted by the passive on VA.

    Are you guys happy now that Buccs are half-assed DBZ themed pirates? Thanks a lot for ruining a punching and brawling class with lasers and this stupid energy charging crap. They could’ve made Buccs into a martial artist/Gung Fu pirate but you overly nostalgic DBZ freaks ruined the class. Good job.

      You obviously didn’t play buccs when they first came out.

      You could go “super sayan” in 3rd job and “super sayan 2” in 4th.
      There was “gum-gum barrage” in 4th job
      And there may have been more that I missed

      Buccs originally were the cartoon network anime class.

    Max, NL’s Dark Flare activates every 0.9 seconds, not 0.3 seconds. Also, it’s weird that Shad’s Dark Flare would have a higher skill percentage for their summon effect.

    I’ve also looked at extractions, and see no increase of the duration on Bleeding Toxin. :/ It’s sad that the crummy Hyper Skill only lasts 30 seconds with a 90 second cooldown.

    Even though it said so in the extractions, from what I had seen from the videos, Shade Splitter stills hit for 3 times (6 with SP). Some pretty neat tweaks they did to some skills.

    However, why is QT slower now? Jump shooting now seems pretty sluggish and we could no longer attack as fast on a single target. I would rather do without the changes to QT (& animation) and revert to the previous patch.

      Yup, n still nothing to help with the survivability of the ranged classes. At least Dark Flare could be tweaked to reduce a small amount of damage while active. That would actually help.

      There will likely be a stealth server-sided fix in the next few days for Shade Split (to make it hit only 2 times with SP). They stealth fixed SP not affecting Taunt in the previous Tespia update, but glitched Shade Split in the process making it overpowered (you could see it hitting like 15 times with SP).

      As for QT being sluggish, no NL will ever know. It’s a stupid change, regardless, and they should revert it back to the previous Tespia update.

      Also, no survivability is a killer on NL’s. We have zero Evasion Rate, no damage reduction, and no defensive multiplying skills at all compared to the rest of the Thieves that have at least one, or all of them.

        i have to say that i agree with both of you. the only skills we ever get is enveloping darkness that increase hp by 20% & reduce most magical dmg taken and status resistance by 30%, and fake.

        i wish they could do some tweaking to the already existing skills. even making us not affected by status effects when fake is activated seems nice.

        bleeding toxin was buffed but the effects are still not as great as what i would expect from a hyper skill. at least 4 seasons was altered slightly in favour of us, but it still seems weird that we still have to attack in the middle, when they change all our skills to attack from the sides (i do kind of prefer attacking from the middle if my nl have enough hp to tank tho).

        and omg, wtf just happened to QT, our main 1v1 skill -_-ll it is just plain terrible. hoping for the next patch to resolve things.

          Before RED patch snipe is 490% 10 hits- ppl oredi hit the max 50m each…now is 4410% and u think they wont reach max cap agn =1 hit, Sharp eye also increase max dmg for it much more easier to reach 400m juz 1 hit.

            man peoples won’t lose so much damage, i didn’t see any marksman hitting 50m normaly they would do 30m each hit, i don’t say about not reaching that cap but you just see the cap damage, it’s too far compared to before, so %dmg is better to see than hit that can change a lot

            marksman are supposed to be very good in 1 vs 1 or single target, but even with the old snipe which is stronger, we can hardly compete with the new jobs. We are good in nothing else you know? With snipe nerf that means our strength also decrease, the significant is still not know, but the dpm ranking surely will drop!!           18% is just a tiny nerf compared to what some other jobs received… Yes, I agree a new skill is supposed to be awesome and stuff and cool looking! But surely the application for that particular new skill can’t be just another old “smash the button” skill. It’ll be boring very soon. Surely, you gotta accept the fact that even if you don’t have Beholder’s healing stuff, Power Elixers are more than enough to keep your HP at near maximum most of the time, except that when you’re fighting bosses with Potions Cooldown in their maps. Nexon is trying to make things fun in a way that they put Specialized skills to make things unique, such as Hero having more applications with their Combo Orbs, Dark Knights should utilize their Beholder as well, and not just let it stay by your side like before, you’re able to actually use the Beholder itself. Sacrifice is a good application for Dark Knight’s Beholder.

          Some people will of course say that other jobs were OP before their nerfs for the sake of defending the powers of their favourite class. Its only natural that people compare and complain that their favourite job is “weaker” or other jobs are way stronger in hopes that the creator listens to them. Agree that some jobs are obviously OP, but some jobs aren’t OP but people still complain about them. That Snipe you talk about from Crossbow Master was never OP except for the fact that Hyper Skill made it 0secs cooldown. However, I strongly disagree that Dark Knights’ 18% damage nerf on their Gungnir Descent is going to be a DRASTIC nerf for them, even though their beloved Berserk was removed, the effects and part of the damage boost is shifted to Reincarnation, and Cross Over Chains is more than enough to make up for it by doubling the damage most of the time (Admit it, you keep your HP at near max most of the time with Power Elixers), so I actually don’t see any point why Dark Knight lovers(I love all warriors) should be complaining about the new changes. As said, Nexon would listen to their players and try to balance out as much as possible rather than previously, letting different jobs have their own time to shine each patch and taking turns to be OP(Like how Xenon previously made bosses look like normal monsters in videos and currently being no different than an average non-funded Adventurer after being nerfed.)

            Crossbow Master early cnt spawn snipe…onli then till lvl 195 then can spawn with 0 sec cooldown…as for Dark Knight’s Gungnir Descent it is spammable if Reincarnation or Sacrifice are active 18% is an average affect…if wan compare to snipe 10 hits x 490% which max cap 50m each last time and now the new snipe is 4410% = 4xx% and max cap onli 400m..         you know what’s stupid? all those people who call dark knights overpowered with their 2720% damage skill (spammable for 2/3rds of the time, by the way) and then complain about snipe being only 4410%, oh how poor them. and I agree, being a dark knight, this 18% nerf on damage is so irrelevant, but what bugs most people here is the ability to cry at nerfs. Though I do find funny that they really had to give this small smash to drks, seeing as a damage reduction totally makes up for what they pointed out as the real problem (keeping health at max – is there even a problem in that?), and after the curious number that at first was 443%, setting it at a “normal” number such as 330% was so irritant they felt like lowering it not even to a round number, but to a senseless 312%. am I the only one to catch the fun in this?

    Two things. 1. I noticed that Recoil Shot is still in the Gunslinger’s skill set. Is there even a real point to having this skill with us having a Octopush? let us use 20 points on something better. 2. I feel sorry for the Islanders who have spent all this time playing the game the way they wanted to. Now any beginner can return to the island at any time and pretend that they have been there the whole time. I guess it’s time for Islanders to join the rest of society.

      Recoil Shot is actually a lot more useful for dodging due to its easy-to-control distance.
      Sure I will be using Octopush for traveling now, but I will still revert to Recoil Shot if I am in need of dodging any attacks.

        293% to 378%. You have clearly never played a NL before. One of our traits is jump attacking, and the increase in delay kills any hopes of that smoothness. If they wanted to nerf QT, they could’ve went after the skill percentage and lower it from 378% to mid-300’s or so.

            Most Claws are fast (4), and the only normal (6) Claw is a Garnier (level 10). You hit the speed cap of faster (2) with Claw Booster. 780 ms at normal (6) is now 990 ms at normal (6). 600 ms at faster (2) is now 750 ms at faster (2). That’s a big difference, and the attack speed is cut by 25%. I’m just stating these facts because not many people know how to account for attack speed delays in this game.

            As with your question, it makes QT much harder to jump attack with. It’s hard enough with current Shade Split in gMS (which is 690 ms at faster (2)). This is 60 ms slower, and ironically, the new Taunt is 750 ms at faster (2). From the new videos, most people can see it’s hard enough to jump attack with it. The same can be said with this new QT.

      It’s on Southperry, and it’s only a BM change. Also, SE Hyper is still the same. It’s still an increased % Critical Rate, but they just changed the variables around in the extractions (e.g. cr% > x%).

            It’s the same % Critical. Variables in the data changed, but the values stayed the same.

      it’s just 18% dmg… and marksmans lose 490% and they undurstand it, heros as well(lose the bonus from enrage so just speed attack)

    Max do you know if: Illusion Step: new passive effect of ignoring 20% damage taken from monsters has been added – works how puppet did and ignore 20% of the actual damage delt to me so if i got 1/1 ill still have 20% health left or is it just a 20% damage reduction, that i wont be able to visually see?

      I think it should work the same way as Elite Puppet since they moved it from that skill! I can test it out when it comes to the real server (if you remind me) 🙂

    Nexon what is your deal with not knowing how to balance the 3 warriors?
    How in the hell is the defensive class pally, shit on the Dark knight? Thats stupid im done with this game , ive been waiting since chaos for The 3 classes to finally be balanced but you just keep fucking up. Take my maple acc who ever wants it.

    Right… Korea may be the place of birth for this wonderful game (dun get me wrong, i love this game.) but NexonKR developers are making lots of stupid changes… because they want to attract more players to play instead of dying out. Obviously.

    Anyway, the changes they made are… well kinda… meh and boo and wahh… but i really do have to say, JMS making Sengoku classes are awesome… They are, i can say the most completely original job classes in my opinion. They all uniquely Japanese. but GMS, for whatever reason took the job… and With the UNLEASHED update, making HAYATO job classes BUGGED… Do you know how fucking annoying when you cannot unlock its potential.

    ANYWAY, i do not know anything about CMS or what soever they are doing… Usually, what comes out in korea, the worlds gets it. of course, regional MS get their own ‘Special’ content. But then again…. when one regional got that content… other regional MS may get it if they wanted to…

      just to say, hayato and kanna are or was test classes also the KOCs it self can be testes(the new revamp) to get it to other classes, if you see there’s buch of skills that was from thoose 2 that they used for kaiser lum and maybe AB but also for much hyper skills man i can list some skills here if you want

    3 type of Warriors, only Paladin shines the brightest, following by Dark Knight and the last,Hero. Come on Nexon at least give us back the Enraged Raging Blow and make Shout into a nicer AOE skill or make it a party skill effect that give us a bossing buff or any buff that useful.

    Funny, yet sad how Heros are the “offensive focused class” yet Paladin and Dark Knight do almost just as much damage as them…. Why should I make an Hero again? Just to spam Raging Blow? lol Paladin has the ultimate defence and Dark Knight have their survivability in addition to their great damage, so being an Hero just seems pointless at the moment… This is coming from an Hero/Crusader since 2006 … :/

      I feel you, I’ve been playing Hero around that time too… Hero only had Power Guard as their defensive skill(stance just gives convenience) as it reduces damage received by a certain percentage. Paladins always had their ultimate defense and Dark Knights has their good survivability as well… And still does the same amount of damage as Hero now. There really isn’t a point playing Hero anymore if the offensive class deals equal or less damage than defensive classes. Dammit man… 😦

        😦 i am seriously considering changing to Paladins when this patch approches, cus it just seems more convenient for bossing, both solo and in party… Makes me sad, since i really love the Hero class, but they just seem unneccesary 200+ 😦

          Might as well play Paladin since Paladin’s damage is now higher than Hero, and the defense is still as high as ever. I really love the Hero class though, the reddish and flaming attacks really suited the typical ‘burning passion’ of a Hero, and Incising made things even cooler!

      It should, and Shade Split is now out-damaged by Shuriken Burst in 2nd job because of the nerf on the hits.

    Shade split will be useless if its damage has 213% and only hits once.
    Might as well stick with shuriken burst which has 330% damage and does one hit and it is a
    second job skill.

      Not “will”, but “is” would be the correct term. Not to mention that Shuriken Burst is the fastest attacking skill on a NL (540 ms at faster (2) speeds) vs. Shade Split (630 ms at faster (2) speeds). There’s no point of using Shade Split until it’s reverted back to 3 hits.

    Nexon must really hate Night Lords since they get the scarps of the plates. Night lords have a much slower quad throw. Have a really cheap mob skills until 4 job ( but it is not shadow partnerable ). There toxic Venom is only 30 secs and it has a 90 sec cool down ( the extra 30 attack is kinda pointless). Aswell they get no new skills active skill. ( Taunt is not really a new skill ).

        You are the one that nobody needs. Have you ever even tried or watch others play a NL? I seriously doubt so because if you had, you will know that the boost in dmg in QT and the extra 30wa can hardly offset the increased in delay. Smooth and continuous jump-shooting has been a sin/mit/NL trademark since this game started in 2003. It is all about mobility. This is the reason why the initial TT in 4th job and the QT after thief revamp have the same, if not, close delays to the original L7.

        Yep sure, 30wa is something. Compare it with most of the active hyper skills buff around, and let me know how that “something” of yours looks in comparison with them.

          Yup. L7 has always been 600 ms at faster (2). So has TT until Justice where it was nerfed from 600 ms to 660 ms. QT has also been 600 ms up until this Tespia update where it’s now 750 ms at faster (2). To think that your 4th job 1v1 would be the slowest of your 1v1 skills is inconceivable.

      they does that all the time….since the game was create, it has been 10 years, balancing every jobs had always been the target they wanted to achieve, thats why maple had so many revamps and skill changes, but in the end this turns out….admit it, we all know the result, perfect balance is impossible given several problems…all that will change from these changes is the ranking of the jobs and the complains from the various players….

    Lets nerf Hurricane by increasing the delay between arrows by 25%, and buff it’s damage % by 1.3 times. It still looks quite fast to me.

    Or a more logical example since Hurricane is a key-down skill, lets nerf Snipe / Raging Blow / Midnight Carnival by increasing its delay by 25%, and then buff it by increasing its damage % by 1.3 times. How would you like that? You have the % damage, but is that enough to make up for the loss in attack speed? Especially when the class affected is one that relies heavily on it? Not to mention NLs, I will rage even if this happens to my Hero.

    “It looks quite fast to me” is only from your point of view, relative to, I don’t know, maybe your ability to process things. You should perhaps, try out a few more classes to really understand what is the core of each class, and what each class lacks.

      man they revamped all the class so the main attack can be the same but there’s bonus that you didn’t have+hurricane can attack with the plator skill(idk the name hurricane of bowmaster) so it’s a lot more even if it’s bigger the delay compared to hurricane still good, marksman got the damage by rang, by single targer/rang and more so isn’t a nerf at all, NL got a revamp in hyper skill, purge area and there’s the specialized skill, well ok it may be slower they may change it

    Let’s compare pre-RED QT to this nerfed QT, and let me know what you think.

    Pre-RED QT was 293% at faster (2) speed of 600 ms.

    750 / 600 = 25% nerf in attack speed.

    Replicate this 25% on the nerfed QT to account for the increase in delay (600 to 750).

    (1 – 0.25) * 378 = 283.5% at faster (2) speeds of 600 ms after canceling the increase in delay.

    293 / 283.5 = 3.4% nerf to current QT.

    That means the pre-RED QT is actually stronger than our current QT because of the 25% nerf in attack speed. If you don’t understand this, you’ll never get it.

          Same thing can be said for I/L’s when they nerfed Chain Lightning’s attack speed (780 ms at normal (6) to 840 ms at normal (6)) and number of hits (6 to 4) for no reason. It’s only fair if they return it to the way it is, either pre-RED or previous Tespia version would be fine for every NL.

Marksman have their Snipe with no cooldown, Dual blades asura’ing all day. And all we have is Angel ray to size up some damage with Infinity. Okay, maybe DRK is close to the bottom but really, I think this revamp checks-out. Its made the, I believe, ONLY support class grow closer to every other class. #MageMasterRace

    They are balancing class and they are trying their best to give what they can, like new skill? more creative animation to satisfy us. although some classes is gonna lose out to the rest. but remember, theres a 5th job which will improve them. so dont worry, ur bishop is meant to be surpport other classes. and be glad that no 1 can replace ur role.

      The creation of UA is still closed (and has been since the revamped Striker was released). I don’t think they changed anything about existing UAs though.
