kMSt ver. 1.2.482 – Zero & Mirror World!

MapleStory Child of God (Zero Alpha and Beta)

A Tespia patch has been released, giving us the Child of God, Zero! Zero has a lot of interesting and new systems that come with it, so I’m excited for this character~

I’m not dead! Sorry for the extremely late post, but the fact that I am moving at the moment combined with the huge storm yesterday that took out Toronto’s power meant that I couldn’t work on the post until now. I reposted this so that people can see I am updating once again, please check back regularly to see! Hopefully nothing goes wrong this time haha.

If you commented on my last post, you will have to write it again, sorry! I tried to find a way to move comments but I couldn’t find it…

Mirror World

The Mirror World, an illusion created by the Black Mage in order to trap Zero was added. This place is very similar to Maple World but also very different at the same time! The Mirror World contains the following areas:

  • Zero’s Temple
  • Shadow Village
  • Leafre
  • Ariant
  • Henesys
  • Mu Lung
  • Edelstein
  • Magatia
  • Ludibrium
  • Temple of Time
  • Kritias

Zero can use the Door of Time in its temple to move freely to any of the above areas after they have been unlocked.

The Mirror World has a lot of great BGMs (like everywhere else in MapleStory really), and there are even some remixes of existing towns (the ones I listed above). They sound really good so give them a listen! Thanks to SlipySlidy for uploading them!

Premium Hunting Potions

In the Mirror World areas, Premium Hunting zones have been added. These are special dungeons that Zero can access, there are 3~5 in each town and they will be unlocked through quests.

In Premium Hunting zones, there will be a Death Count system and you will not lose experience if you die. In addition, monsters will drop special potions that are instantly used when picked up to make hunting even easier.

Board System

You can invite friends through the board system to enjoy party play together! However I believe this only works with other Zero characters… I’m not sure though.

Premium Hunting Clear

Completing a zone will give you experience and Weapon Points, based on your clear time. However, as you get higher levelled, there will be a penalty on the prizes from the lower level zones.

Zero Character Creation

Zero Character Creation (1)

Zero is a warrior that uses STR as its main stat and begins at level 100. You will be able to fight with Zero Alpha and Beta, with the new Dual Character system. This will give you access to special types of combat!

  • Tag: Your characters will be switched, allowing you to use their skills.
  • Assist: When you activate Tag, for a certain period of time you will attack together.

Two Health and Ability Gauges

Zero Alpha and Beta will have separate health and ability gauges, and instead of MP, Zero uses Time Force. They also have two different skill trees with separate skills.

Zero will start with 48 slots in each inventory tab. Alpha and Beta will not share Cash equipment, meaning you can use gender specific items (male for Alpha and female for Beta). A single Beauty Shop coupon will be used for both characters.

Spirit Weapons Lapis and Lazuli

Zero uses the spirit weapons, Lapis and Lazuli. You can meet them after completing the 5 parts of Chapter 1 of the Zero story line. They will grow in power and appearance along with Zero, and be upgraded automatically every 10 levels from 110 to 170. When they are upgraded, you can choose if you wish to keep the existing enhancements and additional options or if you wish to reset them.

When you wish to scroll them, one scroll, Cube, or Flame of Reincarnation will apply to both Lapis and Lazuli. You can collect Weapon Points by killing monsters in the Mirror World or special bosses in Maple World and spend them to get Cubes or Flames for your weapons.

Lapis and Lazuli will act as both your main weapon and secondary weapon, depending on which Zero is active. When Alpha is active, Lazuli will be the main weapon and when Beta is active, it will be Lapis.

Upgraded Quest System

Zero has an upgraded quest system, with special illustrations, new UI, and a chapter style story line.

Zero Story

There are 42 parts spread across 10 chapters, and they start from 100 all the way to 180! At the end of the story, you will be able to break the shackles of the Mirror World and become a true Transcendent!

I heard you can’t get experience from monsters in Maple World until you do a certain quest in the Mirror World, maybe the level 180 one? Haha that would be sort of funny.

Timic Coins and Shop

Through quests, Zero can collect Timic Coins which you can then spend on items in a shop in Zero’s Temple.

  • Mastery Book 20/30 (5 coins)
  • Knight’s Badge Box (30 coins)
  • Saint Wing Knight set
  • 60% Two Handed Weapon for Attack Scroll (40 coins)
  • 80% Two Handed Weapon for Attack Scroll (50 coins)
  • 60% Armor for STR Scroll (20 coins)
  • 80% Armor for STR Scroll (30 coins)
  • 60% Accessory for STR Scroll (20 coins)
  • 80% Accessory for STR Scroll (30 coins)
  • Marx Van Leon/Grand Agares/Emperor’s Brave/Imperial Brave Lucky Item Scroll (1000 coins) – allows you to change Lapis/Lazuli into a set item for the specified set
  • Mysterious Love Letter (10 coins)
  • Gear of Reincarnation (5 coins)
  • Gold Label Knight set recipes
  • Dimension Fragment (100 coins)
  • Party quest equipment

Education and Reading Systems

In Zero’s Temple, you can talk to Dello to use the Education system. This allows you to learn and level up your professions! You do not have to go to Meisterville to level up like regular characters. You cannot become an Artisan or Master through this system.

There’s also the Reading system which allows you to choose from certain books and level up your personality traits! The experience you gain from here will not count to your daily limit but you can only read 3 books per day.

Zero Character Card

Zero’s character card gives bonus experience. It will only begin working after you reach level 110.

New Illustrations New Illustrations (1) NNew Illustrations (2) New Illustrations (3)

A whole lot of illustrations were added in this patch, thanks to Genie of Insoya for finding them! And thanks to 콘파쿠 of Insoya for many of the in-game screenshots!

Here is Zero’s tutorial (video brought to you by Spadow)! If you didn’t really understand, those people at the beginning all work for the Black Mage, and wished to keep Zero Alpha (who didn’t even know his real name!) away from the Shadow Temple.

This is because Zero Beta was trapped inside, and after they found each other, they must find a way to escape the Mirror World and save their mother, the goddess of time Rhinne!

Child of God Webtoon

webtoon was released for the Child of God patch! It’s basically a prologue to the story in game.

Let’s say you are currently playing Alpha, you can use a Beta skill to switch to Beta. Then for 3 seconds, both Alpha and Beta will attack at the same time (I believe in-game it shows which are the ‘Assist’ skills but it doesn’t show up in extractions).

again i think this class is like one that i played in WOW you started at lv55 and the max was 90(used to be 100), but you needed to do quests then you would know something about the game before you go to the place where everyone was. They ”block” you to do quests so you may only leave at lv120, something like that

    >character is a LITERAL GOD/DESS
    >will only be available for creation ONCE, AND WILL NEVER BE MADE AVAILABLE AGAIN AFTER THAT PERIOD
    >people want them to be “balanced” against the puny mortals

what is wrong with you people?
zeroα/β’s entire concept is a cheatcode. and one that won’t be available to everyone for the rest of the game’s lifespan. why can none of you simply take a once-off gift and enjoy it? it’s like if the gov’t gave you a winning lottery ticket for a $50m jackpot and exempted you from taxes for that one particular thing, and you took issue with being handed a crazy amount of money with no strings attached. seriously, you people have issues.

    • rakahs
      July 9, 2013 at 7:27 pm

Because it will break the game o.O
If someone else is playing a character at lv 100 that can insta-damamge cap (exaggeration but you know what I mean), he can own any map he wants and thus KS away EVERY other job. So if I am playing my bowmaster, he can KS me and own the map…. And if EVERYONE is playing that job on it’s release since that is the only time you can create one, EVERY map in the game will have them in it, thus making it impossible for me to train… There are way more other reasons (like not getting accepted in Party Play zones or PQ’s because a Zero does more damage than me, but you can figure them out on your own now right?).

      • Ivangold

Honestly it sounds like you’re exaggerating, and imagining a worst case scenario that could never possibly actually happen.

It sounds like you suggest that every single map of every single channel will have a Zero on it.
That nobody will ever get bored of the class, and that -every- one of them will be a kill-stealing jerk.
That every single PQ and every single guild will only be filled with Zeros and nothing else.
That every non-zero class will be hunted down and trolled and tortured and bullied because they’re not an elitist Zero-class.

You must have lost hope in humanity if you think that things are going to get that bad just because of a little change.

    • Anonymous
      July 11, 2013 at 6:28 am

Bullsh** man, that’s what christianity is, preach a religion worshipping Rhinne from Maplestory and I’ll GUARENTEE you there will be 10x as many TRUE believers as Christianity, which is true because 10 times zero is still zero. I mean, if anybody REALLY believed in that bilge, then why hasn’t any man of “faith” killed himself to “prove” that death is nothing to be afraid of as long as you worship the “true”? Show me a news article of a Catholic doing that and I’ll believe Christianity isn’t complete bullsh**, kay? Screw Jehovah, Rhinne is the true God, and screw Jesus, Zero is the true Child of God! If you can provide indiputable proof that it is maplestory that is blasphemizing the bible and not, in fact, the bible that is blasphemizing maplestory, then I’ll believe you. (Don’t give me that whole, the Bible came first nonsense. Science doesn’t differentiate between past and future, so doing something first is TECHNICALLY different than ripping off of something without realizing it had been done before, because yours didn’t necessarily come first, as time is relative)

    • Anonymous
      July 11, 2013 at 6:44 am

You’re the one being decieved. But not by this game, no, you’re being decieved by the bible, I mean, if the bible wasn’t a load of bullsh**, then the church wouldn’t have persecuted people for saying the world was round for CENTURIES, then say it was round themselves without openly admitting to the fact that they had originally said it was flat in the first place, intentionally acting like they do and always have stood by the earth being round, they didn’t say “sorry guys, we thought the earth was flat, but science have proved without a doubt we were wrong”, they said “yep, the earth is round” you persecute people for over a MILLENIUM for preaching something against you, and you don’t even ACKNOWLEGE that you were wrong, that would be the first step towards attoning for all the people and organisations you’ve wronged over CENTURIES, I mean, the only reason they’d do that is because they were afraid of losing all credibility in everyone’s eye’s, but that wouldn’t be much of a problem if you felt secure that what you were doing was right because according to your own texts, everything will work out in the end if you do what you know in your heart is right, so, if they weren’t feeding everyone bilge, then they would’ve admitted to being wrong.

(this isn’t directed towards you anon. this is just for any bible thumper that thinks about commenting)
        >.> the bible. HA. People who worship a book is ridiculous. That would be like everyone nowadays worshiping harry potter, 50 shades of gray, the hunger games, or any of stephen king’s books. Unless i can SEE a god, I refuse to believe words that someone in china printed on paper and sold for $17. Just because it’s been around for a really long time means NOTHING. That would be like people worshiping the Illiad. Like i said, Until “God” Comes down and pinches me… I’m good. o.o yeah still a firm believer in the idea that the universe is a constant repeating/recycling of matter. We expand, contract due to negative pressure and once we reach singularity we have another “big bang” starting the process all over again. Thats my bible~

    Bonus EXP per Mob?

meh i don’t care for this class anymore to much storyline for them. i mean it’s basically a chapter book character and you can’t do anything unless you finish a certain amount of boring quests and cutscenes. it’s like final fantasy XII …

Zero is yet another OP’d Warrior class like its predecessors:

    Dawn Warrior(Soul Masters),
    Demon Slayer,
    Kaiser,
    Hayato,
    Demon Avenger,
    and now Zero!!!

Warriors FTW!!! All other classes suck so much dick it’s pathetic… especially Angel Buster that whore, that floosy, that strumpet, she’s putting out ALL KINDS,,, cus it’s like… fuck? lol

There are other good classes besides warriors. Just because they don’t use a big sword to compensate for your small e-peen doesn’t mean they’re bad.

I always thought of how every new class is usually a remix of a previous recent one.

i would like to ask a few question. Please feed back me 🙂
1.Can Zero equip items from the real world? eg: my Hero’s equip, is it possible forZero to equip it?
    2. If i equip one item, it is considered as equiping for both characters right?
    3. Zero’s weapon. As i know, they only has their own weapon to the end, and then, what am i trying to ask is, Is it possible to pot it to legendary? and what if any scroll messed up like 30% scroll and destroy equips. Will i still be having my pots?

      1. yes
      2. yes
      3. if you boom your weapons they’ll give you back clean version i believe, so you’ll lose the potential.
