MapleStory Resistance

A new patch has been released in Tespia, this time bringing world merged party quests (although only Moon Bunny’s Rice Cake and First Accompaniment are available right now) along with skill updates to some heroes, Battle Mage, Wild Hunter, and Mechanic!

I’m sorry for the late post but I have been super busy this week with moving to university and such, and will probably be even more busy when classes start… my posts may be very late. I’m sort of debating to pause this blog for the moment until I can decide if I have enough time to keep it up, but I’ll try for now!

Party Quest Union Entrance

Party quests are now world merged! Participate in them with characters from other worlds~ After clearing them, you’ll receive experience based on your level and Party Points which can be used to buy certain items. But you cannot party with characters that have a difference of 20 or more levels.

Items you can buy with Party Points include:

  • Gooey Shoes (Lv. 60)
  • Rainbow Rice Cake on Your Head (Lv. 100)
  • Moon Bunny and Slime Chair
  • 60% Party Quest One-handed/Two-handed Weapon for Attack/Magic Attack
  • 100% Party Quest One-handed/Two-handed Weapon for Attack/Magic Attack
  • Party Quest Damage Skin

Let’s move on to the skill changes. I think that the ones for Phantom and Luminous don’t count, and they didn’t even touch Aran haha. Maybe future patches?

Evan

  • Dragon Thrust: damage has been increased from 200% to 235%
  • Breath: number of hits has been increased from 1 to 2, damage has been decreased from 800% to 420%
  • Earthquake: number of hits has been increased from 1 to 4, damage has been decreased from 860% to 325%
  • Flame Wheel: damage has been increased from 420% to 485%
  • Blaze: number of hits has been increased from 3 to 5, damage has been idecreased from 450% to 305%

Mercedes

  • Speed Dualshot: number of hits has been increased to 3, damage has been increased from 115% to 125%
  • Charge Drive: damage has been increased from 130% to 210%
  • Final Shot: damage has been increased from 70% to 85%
  • Strike Dualshot: damage has been increased from 120% to 200%
  • Leap Tornado: damage has been increased from 135% to 195%
  • Unicorn Spike: damage has been increased from 140% to 195%
  • Ishtar’s Ring: damage has been increased from 150% to 155%
  • Legendary Spear: damage has been increased from 540% to 580%

Phantom

  • Double Pierce: damage has been increased from 160% to 178%

Luminous

  • Nox Spear: damage has been increased from 361% to 371%

Battlemage

  • Teleport: vertical distance has been increased
  • Triple Blow: damage has been increased from 150% to 155%
  • Hyper Dark Chain: max level has been decreased from 20 to 10
  • Ordinary Conversion NEW! Ordinary Conversion (2nd): Permanently increase your HP by 100%. (max level: 10)

Battle Spurt Effect

  • Battle Spurt NEW! Battle Spurt (3rd): Rush forward, pushing up to 8 enemies while dealing 565% damage. This skill can be linked after using Hyper Dark Chain and Finish Blow can be linked after using this skill. Passive effect: increase Hyper Dark Chain’s damage by 30%. (max level: 10)
  • Revive: has been changed into an on/off skill
  • REMOVED! Conversion: changed to a passive in second job
  • Shelter: in addition to existing effects, Shelter now decreases damage taken from % HP attacks by 10%

Big Crunch Aura Effect

  • Big Crunch Aura NEW! Big Crunch Aura (4th): Maximize the effects of all your current Auras for 150 seconds, increasing their boosts by 30x. This skill cannot be used if Super Body is active. There is a cooldown of 90 seconds. (max level: 10)
  • Dark Genesis: in addition to existing effects, while Dark Genesis is on cooldown your attacks will have a 60% chance to deal an extra hit of 220% damage, cooldown has been changed to 30 seconds at all levels

Wild Hunter

  • Triple Shot: damage has been increased from 130% to 150%
  • Double Jump: has been changed into Triple Jump, allowing you to jump up to 2 times while in the air
  • Bomb Shot: effect has been changed to create a shockwave, allowing you to hit monsters that are too short to be hit by the arrow
  • Jaguar Roar: max level has been decreased from 15 to 10, damage has been increased from 325% to 330%
  • Soul Arrow: max level has been increased from 5 to 10, in addition to existing effects Soul Arrow now gives 30 attack

Howling Effect

  • Howling: an effect has been added for when the buff’s avoid takes place
  • Wild Shot: damage has been increased from 184% to 310%
  • Claw Cut: damage has been increased from 200% to 215%, in addition to existing effects Claw Cut now knockbacks monsters
  • Crossroad: you will now move forwards even if there are no monsters in front of you
  • Draw Back NEW! Draw Back (3rd): When activated, your Jaguar will begin to move backwards while you continue to shoot forwards. However, if you use White Heat Rush or Triple Jump, you will move forwards. On/off skill. Passive effect: permanently reduce damage taken by 10%. (max level: 10)

White Heat Rush Effect

  • White Heat Rush NEW! White Heat Rush: Your Jaguar heats up and rushes upwards, pushing up to 8 enemies for 233% damage. (max level: 10)
  • REMOVED! Concentrate: moved to Soul Arrow
  • Wild Vulcan: damage has been increased from 270% to 285%, you can now jump down while using this skill

Armored Crimson

A new Jaguar called Armored Crimson has been added, which gives extra resistance to statuses and damage reduction. It can be found by going to the hidden Jaguar grounds and catching it.

Mechanic

  • Mechanic Dash: can now be used in the air
  • Flame Launcher: damage has been increased from 80% to 166%
  • Drill Rush: damage has been increased from 200% to 260%, can now move forward even without monsters in front of you
  • Atomic Hammer: number of hits has been increased to 2, damage has been decreased from 460% to 395%
  • Open Gate: GX-9: max level has been decreased from 10 to 5
  • Rocket Punch: damage has been increased from 180% to 350%, delay has been decreased
  • Healing Robot: H-LX: in addition to existing effects, Healing Robot now passively gives 30% resistance to statuses and elements
  • Laser Blast: damage has been increased from 500% to 505%, attack speed has been increased
  • War Machine: Titan: in addition to existing effects, War Machine now passively gives 30% reduced damage from monsters
  • Metal Armor Extreme: in addition to existing effects, Metal Armor Extreme now increases your HP by both the flat amount + 30% of your HP
  • NEW! Metal Armor: Hovering (Hyper): Change your Missile Tank into a hovering craft, allowing you to move while using Heavy Machine Gun.
  • REMOVED! Reactive Metal Armor: effects have been moved to War Machine: TItan, Metal Armor Extreme, and Healing Robot: H-LX

Updated Storage

The item storage UI has been updated! It has a new ‘item find’ button for those of you with a lot of slots, and you can quickly expand it with a new + Slot Add button as well.

New Emotes

Also, many new emotes were added in this patch! They all have to do with characters in the Korean alphabet, haha.

          they are forgetting the real issues like battle kings bar that should have been changed into a toggle skill because it is so frustrating trying to use it after finishing blow while trying to maximize BaMs speed -_- and some hyper buffs for finishing blow

            Can you really complain when they did something similar back when they changed BaMs to have the more mechanized staffs/RGB Auras/Rock Fists and everyone hated it? They probably thought everyone hated auto-use Hypers and decided to not make it toggle-able.

            I think is press 2 buttons than just spam skill, its boring. I agree with the buffs for FB. BaM’s passive buffs sucks

            i actually liked those skill replacements that they had done in that kmst reorganization patch for BaMs one they were faster and two i hate having to press a button constantly after another for a powerful attack the auto attack of battle kings bar was brilliant and the fist was a great skill it had a great range and was extremely powerful now they are trying to link attack skills making it even more annoying i like holding down a button and it doing the attack that idea is great. they could have done a lot better with this reorganization this is pathetic thus far hopefully with the real patch they have some useful things

            a toggleable battle kings bar would be great if you want you can press as many different buttons as you please but having skills that have to be used directly after a next one is annoying AF, and please speak for yourself and not the entire maple community

            agree with everyone above, Sweeping Staff/BKB should autochain into Finishing Blow. If you just wanted FB you could just use that like say if you were mobbing, while if you were bossing you could just hold down SS/BKB and it would chain automatically.

            Otherwise the Battle Mage revamp looks pretty awesome and there’s not much else we need improved. =/

            You all sound lazy and/or spoiled by having too much stuff to do your work for you. The only skill that would and should auto-activate while you attack is a weak final attack that happens as you do your attacks. BKB is pretty much a complete attack that is super powerful and, just like aerial attacks, needs a prerequisite as a price to pay to use its powerfulness. Skill is required here, not that auto-combo stuff you see in some fighting games now where you just hold down or rapidly tap a button and watch awesome combos [which you aren’t even causing] and damage fly.

            Also yes, the choice of just doing the traditional finishing blow is really good (ever notice how bkb in gms has been read as 2 attacks by the bot-prevention system? Can only do 33 full combo attacks in 1 spot as you pound a boss in from an ideal spot before you have to reposition yourself…)

        Arans got a LOT of buffs last time, are barely ever nerfed, good all-around, and their skills look fine.

          They’re still the weakest and most vulnerable of all the warrior classes–the most recent patch crippled them in several respects, and they have the lowest potential damage among all warriors as well. “Good all-around?” No. Not by a long shot.

        What’s interesing is that Big Cruch Aura’s Hebrew Character is actually flipped upside down then flipped right to left. Then it represents the character “Aleph”, which symbolizes strength. Just something interesting I saw XD.

    Are you kidding me? No aran revamp. A class that needs it so bad, especially over every hero that just got revamped (except evan). Nexon better be planning a really good revamp for them.

      I hope for huge revamp for arans and evans at least cause they didn’t change a lot skills also i think they should have more party skills also illusion is their main boss attack they should change it more than blaze

    Max, just wondering is Advanced Strike Dualshot a passive? If not, shouldn’t it have been Advanced Strike Dualshot supposed to be the buffed one?

    Drawback and moving Heavy Machine Gun are some seriously sick buffs. WHs and Mechs can now boss way more effectively. Lol on Aran not getting touched this time. >: }

        I dont think so, the last update increased auras’ effects but not the duration time. So you can use 2 of these skills alternatively. The difference is Big Crunch aura will also grant the enhanced effect to party member while Super Body not

            What came into my mind was that they could just move the effects of Big Crunch Aura into Super Body and making other buffing skills that adds attack or whatever.

          I think Big Crunch Aura is just a boost to Hyper Body.. Hyper Body was double the effects of auras while Big Crunch Aura should be 3X.. And I doubt it works on party members. (but I don’t play KMS so someone would have to check to be sure)

        They already forgot mages and thieves before, and they’ve forgotten archers and pirates as well. Why can’t they forget warriors for a change? Seriously, HALF the classes released since demon slayer were WARRIORS. This is NO EXAGGERATION. Don’t believe me? there were six warriors released since Demon Slayer, Slayer, Mihile, Kaiser, Hayato, Avenger, and Zero. There were only JUST AS MANY characters who WEREN’T WARRIORS, six, with Phantom, Jett, Luminous, Angelic Buster, Kanna, and Xenon. Furthermore, there is 11+ warriors in the game, and the next most plentiful class is Magician, which has 8 different classes, 7 if you don’t count blaze wizards, that means, that there is less than 75% of any other class that there is warriors. Furthermore, there are only 5 thieves, 4 if you don’t count xenon. Furthermore, there is a Warrior for EVERY single character order. No other class has been able to say that since Mihile was released, since, for the first time, there was a warrior of a job order that did not have a mage as well, or was going to have one soon after. Worse, there are TWO job orders currently ONLY having warriors in them, orders that are not likely to EVER get another member.

        To add insult to injury, nexon, knowing FULL WELL that Warriors already GROSSLY OUTNUMBERED anything else, released A WARRIOR FOR RED, a warrior that was made ABSOLUTELY CLEAR would be the ONLY Child of God Class EVER! Despite warriors already being almost certainly the only one with a Chief Knight class, due to a combination of the unpopularity of Mihile, as well as their coincidental decision to release Mihile first out of the five.

        They have so many different directions to go with the classes, that are somewhat original compared to the crud they’ve been pulling. Seriously, all these warriors with the same slashing animations? If your going to pump out at least two warriors a year, then get started on the scythe-wielding class everyone’s been wanting, or, I know! how about a class that specializes in 2h bw/axes.
        There’s a few untapped ideas in other places too. Like, the Child of God, could’ve been a Temporal Mage. Another Mage we don’t have yet is a Druid. We’re also missing a summoner. What about a Water,Wind, and/or Earth Mage? There’s even a few ideas in the Thief, Archer, and Pirate department. An Archer that uses a Slingshot? No? How about a Boomerang? Javelin Thrower? What about a Pirate Wielding a Cutlass? No? How about a Musket? Or bombs? A theif using Nunchucks? Tonfa? Senbon? Dagger with Chain? Some sort of energy around the fists that makes the wielder a Martial arts expert?

        So many good ideas and fresh ideas for other classes, and even a few warrior ideas that are fresh compared to the ones nexon has been implementing, despite having made 11 warriors. You’d think that they’d use up all the good ideas first before coming up with lame ones themselves

            They should also make a class that is like a botanist. I know it sounds lame, But chucking venus fly traps and using giant poison spitting flowers seems kind of fun to me. Also, maybe a class based out of aqua road that weilds a trident and has water stuff? Hybrid class like xenon of mage and warrior

    Is that party shield buff a passive effect? Doesn’t make much sense if it only came into effect when you were in the shield. 0.o

      I THINK most % HP attacks go through the shield, just like Shadower’s Smokersceen.

        100% stance is okay, but wh’s are not supposed to tank damage for the sake of it… with the new skill “Draw Back” it gives even more motivation for whs to hide at far range to snipe enemies, Moreover, the new juguar provides resistance to status and all, which is a real big deal unless you (1) already have 100% status resist or (2) love to buff all the bloody time during boss-fights when they dispel the s0o-many-damm-buffs wh’s have.

    How I wish Mercedes will have their Glide Blast(MSEA) or whatever it is called, Jump distance increase and able to Triple Jump. Mercedes character creation description says *High Mobility*… it all seems like a joke.

    It’s nice to see Mercedes having a significant change in her mobbing skills’ damage, though Ishtar’s can be further improved with a new feature or higher damage as opposed to the 5% here. Hope further changes are made since this is the first phase of FLY!

      It’ll be interesting how Blaze Wizards and Night Walker will work, considering how they used to be almost exactly the same. I hope they don’t shadow the skills of F/P Mage (Without the poison) or NL. Then again, they did massively change the other 3…

We recently got the link management skill in gms and I was under the impression that you could move all of your link skills by just logging on the character you wanted it on instead of logging on every character to move the link skills. I don’t know if the one in gms is bugged or if it really wasn’t what people thought it was :\

      The one GMS received was correct, in KMS you still have to log in every character to move link skill. The only reason this skill appeared was to cut down the length of beginner skills.

        Umm, another issue with it in GMS: I’ve managed to link more than 12 skills to 1 character. I doubt that part is correct.

      I dont get what else phantoms needs…. his damage doubles and can have final cut. Also he can use arrow platter

      Wth are u talking about Phantom went from like place 25 to 9 in DPM with red.
      No class has ever got such a big buff. If you wanna talk about hate then look at pirates especially mech who got no buff since release just nerfs and are currently out damaged by bishops. Get the hell outta here =.=

      phantom is not getting burned by nexon. When adventure gets revamped, phantom basically gets a revamp. Looking at the previous patches, Adventures have been getting a whole lot of revamping.

    With decent CO
    Dark aura boost
    21*30= 630 damage…
    51*30= 1530 percent chance of producing dot…
    265*30= 7950 dot damage…
    Yellow aura boost
    36*30= 1080 walk speed
    2*30= 60 attack speed
    21*30= 630 dodge rate
    31*30= 930 enemy speed lowered
    Blue aura boost
    300*30= 9000 def boost
    250*30= 7500 hp boost
    66*30= 1980 percent def boost
    assuming that passives get buffed too
    you’d get another 660% resistance to status effects and elements
    930 passive magic attack
    1260 dodge rate for yourself
    If dot stack is also multiplied you get 120 stacks of dot with it dealing 7950 damage every 1 second. You probably won’t get all 120 stacks on in a mere 8 seconds but assuming you are using twister which has 180ms(I think or is final blow plus BKB faster? I don’t really know) along with the new final attack attached to genesis you get…I’m too lazy to do the math so I’ll steal off joetang’s chart (which is outdated I know) 16.54 hits + 9.924 (60%) = 26.464 hits per second so you can get 27 hits (rounded up) * 8 which is 216…(holy crap so it’s possible to get all 120 stacks in half the time) just counting the dot your damage per second is roughly 7950(damage) *120(hits of dot assuming all stacks)…954000% (lol what)
    so say you have a capped 2m~2m damage range 15900000000 per hit of dot. Then there is the damage cap. But say you’re not using any equipment or skill that changes the damage cap you still hit 50m*120 hits per second which is 6000000000 dps as reference cygnus + her lackeys have 107100000000 hp in total so if it’s like this you can kill cygnus and her lackeys in 17.85 seconds. even if the dots don’t get multiplied you still get 630% damage.
    So in order to cap you’d only need a 3174 (2000000/630) range which you’d most likely have passed by the time you hit 4th job even if you’re naked and is using a beginner staff.

    tl;dr if big crunch aura really is x30 then the entire game would be completely broken.

    Well lets see here

    We got 3 out of 5 Cygnus Knights nicely Revamped, with new improved tutorials and questlines and skills,

    Then the 5 Adventurers + Cannoneers and Dual Blades…

    Now we need Aran and Evan getting the same treatment… and the Resistance, though Resistance was fine just the way they were when we first got them, plus a few improvements and buff along the way.

    It would be nice if Guild PQ aka Sharenian Castle was made into a seperate Theme Dungeon,

    that way each area/town of Victoria Island now has a theme dungeon,

    Mushroom Castle for near Henesys,

    Kerning Sqaure at Kerning City,

    Ellinel Academy near Ellinia,

    ???? ??????? place near Perion? in the Future???

    Gold Beach near Nautlis/Florina Beach
    (even though not shown in world map but the theme is relatively similar Beach like)

    Sleepywood could use a theme dungeon, though Root Abyss is pretty much like one just boss theme dungeon, just no questline or maps with mobs to train on…

    it would be really cool if each theme dungeon has a PQ to fight the main boss of each questline.

    and it can be Solo or with Party.

    The mechanic update makes me wanna cry. I love my mech and i never made it for damage but we dont excell at anything. We are really at the bottom in every aspect i mean in siege mode we can barely move wich make us really bad at end game bosses.

    Even if they would make us 2x strong we would still be low in DPM, that says something. I love this class but i also love bossing and just the fact that i need to put in 3x more funding to make this almost as good makes sick.
    This class was made to be strong and slow not slow and weak.

    Nexon has some sorta of issue with pirates but especially mechanics i was really looking forward to a good rewamp since Mech deserve the best rewamp ever made in Maple.
    We never get anything, its tiring seeing all other classes getting rewamps after rewamps.

    We should get max crit dmg, more dmg on siege mode and dont even let me start on Distortion bomb =.=
    I really hope nexon is just teasing mech with stupid rewamps like 5% on lazer cause they got big plans in store for us but i hiiiiiiiiiiiighly doubt it.

    Does anyone know how to get in contact with KMS or something? cause i really want all of us mech lovers out there to send in rewamp ideas for mech since they cant come up with it themselves.

    As usual Mech get the short end of the stick… let me rephrase that> We never got any stick at all short or long.. We just get mud thrown in our face!

    Hey guys i found a video showing off the new hovering skill.
    Its slower than siege mode so that sucks.
    I dont know man feels like nexon is treating siege mode as some sort of a op damage skill since they refuse making us able to move while using it. Even though its one of the weakest 1v1 in game =.=
    Well well quitting my Mech if we dont get some love soon.

    Not just jump like a “Circus Charlie” circus lion old game??
    Dash for more distance or midair dash without keep falling down during Boss monster hit knock back for climbing that lame rope or ladder again…
    Other buff and attack not require need to revamp, is strong enough for Aran.
