BaM: This character sucked before and now they…. SUCK! STILL! But hey, let’s face it. if you didn’t stop playing this character around 2012, then you’re probably not aware that is ISN’T 2012 either.
WH: I’ve been maining a wild hunter since only a few days after they first came out, and when they said “wild hunter revamp!” i got very excited. Turns out they moved all the skills down a few jobs, brought back the skills that they removed, and made everything even more confusing. NNNNNEEEEXXXXOOOOONNNNNN!!!!!!! 😡
Mechanic: well, it certainly looks much bigger than the other 2 revamps, but honestly, that character looks like they’d bore me to tears. And they did not fix the main thing i hated about the mechanic: all that set up. They improved it, but you still need to set up your robot spawner, and your rock&shock, and i think the portals are back too(not sure though) before you can fight to your full ability. the rest of us can just buff before we enter the map and we’re fine.

Also: the battlemage skill “teleport ver. 2” shows up in 1st job and talks about upgrading another skill, but i see no other skill for it to be improving… error?

(ps. loved that you managed to dig up that picture from when the resistance was first coming out at the top ;))

Regarding mechanic’s setting up issue, I believe that they’re not actually necessary. Mechanics can buff and fight as well, set-ups are just extras to ensure our survivability or increase damage. (I don’t even use them much except while mobbing)

Why do I feel like battle mage is somehow being nerfed? .____.
    Sigh, RIP battle mage.
    No more aura-stacking. 😐
    (Correct me if I’m wrong)

      October 22, 2014 at 2:16 am

you’re wrong. the original buffs from the auras are passives now and activating them gives that auras effects to your party. based on reading the update though it seems like we lost body boost and the grand king aura.

        October 22, 2014 at 2:19 am

Forgot to mention the skills “Nub Stimulation (third job)” and “Spell Boost (fourth job)” might make up for all the range we would lose from BB and grand king aura

        October 22, 2014 at 2:26 am

Anyway, I don’t really find that battle mage is becoming better (based on what I can see currently).
I would rather to have a hyper skill which adds one more line to finishing blow instead of wasting the hyper skill points on dark genesis since I’m just going to use it for the extra single lightning damage.

          I kinda agree with you here. i have mixed feelings about the new BaM. it looks powerful, but i feel like it kinda takes away the fighting style and vibe you would usally get with the old one… I hope this doesn’t come to GMS ;~;

      • Anonymous
        October 22, 2014 at 2:34 am

I still think this might be a nerf. With all 3 auras and grand light aura BaMs had +75% dmg and +6 attack speed. Even if the activated auras will have as much power as the old ones with grand light aura the passive effects will probably be much weaker. But it all depends on the exact numbers that we don’t know yet.

read the second thing i posted. the other 2 skills might give us as much stats at BB and grand king aura. we just dont know the numbers yet

      October 22, 2014 at 8:52 am

        October 22, 2014 at 10:37 am

Totally agree. WH and Mech looks way better than they once were. But BaMs? Nexon wants my t(-.-t)

          October 22, 2014 at 11:25 am

Agreed that Mech looks waaaaaaaaaaaay better. Wh did get a few good changes ( 9MILLION ARROWS TO THE KNEE TAKE THAT), but the summon jaguar mode looks sorta awkward.. i rather use those skills while mounted ,and without any cooldown

      • ^-_- ^
        October 22, 2014 at 2:04 pm

wow BaMs hunting will die in latter levels with battle master gettinbg a 200 second cooldown and only being useful for 40 seconds of that, then BKB getting a cooldown over all it looks like BaMs got nerfed congrats nexon instead of making BKB a toggle and giving actual helpful passive hyper skills you give us this i so wish they had done that other revamp from longtime instead -_-

        • Anonymous
          October 24, 2014 at 7:39 am

I disagree. First of all, they changed the BaM play stile, now we have several very powerfull attacks with a short CD: the new Dark genesis – 4992% dmg 15sec CD (with hypers), the new BKB – 4900% dmg 9sec CD (old one had 2800% dmg) and the reaper – 6360% dmg 6sec CD. And secondly, if you use drain aura while fighting you will have a stronger drain than before and even a higher dmg. Just look at the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujpJCc_eSP8&feature=youtu.be I know this BaM is extremely funded, but before the revamp no BaM could ever do anything even near this much damage.

          • ^-_- ^
            October 24, 2014 at 8:33 am

you sir have obviously never seen the best BaMs in bello have you the three of them hit max dmg and listen to yourself DG will never be useful yea sure the dmg % is high but calculate the dps, dps is everything in maple not dmg % do not forget that we lost a shit tone of attack speed cuz we now have to choose between auras again yay =) fucking bull shit. My BaM is currently lvl 201 with a range of 380k-440k and i hit for 2.2-3.1mil* 6 with my 90% crit stat boosted by a shit load of link skills. BaMs have lost a lot more than you have thought we lost attack speed from having to choose auras, we lost mobility because teleport with its hyper boosted the range of tele, we lost dps from the loss of big crunch aura that stupidly increased attack rate and dmg, and then the loss of BKB is a heavy hit 9 seconds destroys the dps of bkb i could not care how powerful they make it and now your running on about this new savior aura “drain aura” it is very easy to get def ignore my BaM currently has 100% which is the maximum so for me its beyond useless and allow me to do my own calculations

            1) New BKB vs Old BKB 2800% vs 4900%
4900%/9 = 545% dps now lets calculate the dps of its 2800% predecessor 2800%/1 presuming it takes you an entire second to use finish blow so that is 2800% dps vs your low 545% dps

            2) Drain aura has no passive effects and can not hit over max def ignore . . . . . . . . trash

            3) DG allow us to waste our precious hsp on DG for the sack of your argument.
so 4992%/15 just by looking at it its weaker than the new BKB but let me give the actual number. . . . . . 333% dps -_-

            4) And now the reaper i have no problems with it its a nice addition but if it were the only change it would have made for a better revamp

          • ME
            October 27, 2014 at 12:46 pm

Wtf, the dps is %dmg/delay time, not cooldown, since u attack with others skills while the skills on cooldown

          • Remove CD on BKB and BM then revamp would be nice
            October 27, 2014 at 6:10 pm

um no dps is damage per second 0.o not % dmg/ delay time, and CD was taken into consideration because it is a before and after comparison -_- which you can now take over a period of 10 seconds but are you even understanding this? why would you take into consideration other skills while that is on CD? Then you should also take into consideration FB in both cases but you should use the new 330% of FB because that is not the problem it is the CD on BKB that destroys the DPS for BaMs in number 1)

          • Remove CD on BKB and BM then revamp would be nice
            October 27, 2014 at 6:17 pm

but i calculate my dps by finding out the delay time which for FB is 810ms dividing 10 by it which gives about 12.3 now multiplying it by its dmg% which is 3960 then dividing it by 10 which is 396%/s

Dark Genesis: Attack up to 15 enemies with lightning of death, with a chance to stun. In addition, permanently increase the damage of ***Dark Cain***, Battle Spurt and Dark Lightning, and while this skill is on cooldown, all your attacks have a chance to hit a single enemy with lightning.

Max, there’s some typo, it should be Dark Chain. 😀

Its to compensate for their lack of mobbing ability, from what i see, jaguar skills got a CD, which means their mobbing is greatly nerfed, but this is compensated by a great buff in bossing ability with jaguar artillery, drill container to add more lines and yet more att buffs. Then again we have to w8 for the numbers to be updated 1st

i must say before this revamp I didn’t like mechanic so much but after this I might play as him.and wild hunter revamp I really like it wild hunter feels more wild with his drill and assistance unit. and battle mage looks ok they kept the play style more or less but the reaper is now useful and not a buff that no one used before. overall I really like all revemps and i cant wait to play it in gms. 😛

for battlemage, looks like nerf again.
reduce attack speed, add cooldown for Battleking Bar…etc.

and what’s the point to make more auras if they can’t stack?
only for passive? why not they just make one skill include all passive instead, isn’t it more convenient? =_=

and Elemental Reset, is it 100%?
come on, it’s been a long time, i think battlemage deserve it!

not really fair actually, almost every magician got 100% Elemental Decrease except BaM and bishop.

bishop might be understandable, but BaM….why!?

        • Anonymous
          October 26, 2014 at 3:24 pm

Because battlemages don’t really use elements. From a game logic standpoint, it makes sense that only the elemental users get elemental reset.

But from a balance standpoint, Nexon really messed up when they gave basically every boss physical resistance.

Not to mention we lose Twister Spin, a lot of dodge rate, and a lot of critical. W/out Twister Spin and with CD on Battleking bar we are worse at mobbing. And CD on Battleking bar means we are nerfed at bossing also.

Why couldn’t they update the blow animations if they updated almost everything else?

Mech was in well need of a revamp like this honestly the old mech is great and all but when this comes out it will feel like playing a whole different character! Me maining a mech since 2012 im looking forward to this. Always open for changes that’s what keeps me playing the game. Seriously digging the new mech look though looks high tech in my opinion. None of the resistance classes have gotten alot of love and yes it does seem like the BaM got nerfed. In all though I’d have to say this seems like a good patch 🙂

Meh, I feel disappointed with BaM and Wild Hunter. I was hoping they’d receive a RED-like revamp; fortunately Mech did. They could have at least updated the old effects of BaM’s blow skills and WH’s firing skills. It’s not like changing animation would spark up another revolt like what happened back then on the “previous BaM revamp”. That being said, I wonder if there’s going to be an uproar about the massive gameplay change of Mech.

    • ^-_- ^
      October 22, 2014 at 2:11 pm

their is going to be an uproar and i bet there already is for BaMs they got rapped in regard to what they do currently in gms no twister spin loss in 30% crit loss in 30% boss added CD to BKB and CD to battle master that stupidly unnecessary passive reaper that can only attack once every 6 seconds the useless passive hyper skills that means bams are going to be trash.

          October 24, 2014 at 7:27 am

I disagree. First of all, there is no loss is boss dmg (we still get 30% from the new skill “spell boost”), I think that the new BaM will actually be better at bossing. Secondly, “that stupidly unnecessary passive reaper that can only attack once every 6 seconds” has 6360% dmg and is the new BaM’s strongesr skill. And lastly, they changed the BaM play stile, now we have several very powerfull attacks with a short CD: the new Dark genesis – 4992% dmg 15sec CD (with hypers), the new BKB – 4900% dmg 9sec CD and the reaper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujpJCc_eSP8&feature=youtu.be I know this BaM is extremely funded, but before the revamp no BaM could ever do anything near this much damage.

Now we have the numbers and i still dont know if BaM got buffed or nerfed… BKB now has CD, but we got dmg bonus in FB and passive skills. Now the dark chain, dark gene and reaper are useful. No more aura stacking. Idk if the final dmg is better or worse, but i think the play style is better now, less monotonous, sice now we may have to switch aura and have more skills to use. Anyway, lets wait the final patch

    • BaM 2
      October 22, 2014 at 3:04 pm

ive made some fast calculation, i think ill lose only dodge, speed, defense and resistance. I think its fair, BaM was too OP in this side. All dmg lost with GLA removal we got back with the new skills. And i think the bkb’s cd wont make difference since FB got its dmg increased, although we lost the range. i think the teleport got better, both speed and dmg. We now have decent dark gene and reaper. I think the dmg is pretty much the same, they only changed the play style, like u said

i liked new reaper attack, but that ‘pet’ is too babyish

        • Anonymous
          October 23, 2014 at 4:13 am

Meh, I would rather they don’t lay their hands on BaMs at all.
BaMs gets a stupid reaper that does 12 hits with 6 seconds cooldown and they lost their DoT damage from advanced dark aura which will still deal damage for awhile when they’re not attack eg. stunned, seduced, “brb”(?), “afk”(?) or whatever that makes you stop attacking for awhile (Yes, I care much more about DoT than that stupid reaper).
Dark genesis with that weird animation (as the name said, it should be something like bishop’s genesis but the dark version), BKB with cooldown and their useless passive hyper skills have actually ruined them, not to mention that they lost Twister Spin which is useful while mobbing.
Therefore, IN MY OPINION, Nexon ruined BaMs, everything related to BaMs.

i am so serious sign me up! The skill “spell boost” everyone is talking about does not even come close to making up for the difference in dmg and DOT that it used to have, the addition of a CD to BKB is fucked up, the DL with tele was a nice idea but the hell with this stupid reaper that can only attack once every 6 seconds. I loved the dark theme of BaMs but they need so much to keep up with other classes i hate how they are trying to make it a fucking support class! over all BaMs got nerfed the guty in the vid has 200k less range than my BaM but he still hitting the same as i was with that range. So BaM revamp = – 30% crit – 30% boss dmg – DOT + more useless skills “Nerve stimulation” – useless Hyper passives + useless Hyper passives + a shit load of CD’s – mobbing ability – bossing ability. . . . . . . . . in fewer words its shit now. I preferred the last attempt at a revamp with all the skill animation changes and the toggleable BKB ” not the same name though”

        October 23, 2014 at 1:24 pm

I played Battlemage when it first came out.

Battlemage’s original description is: A Melee Mage that support party with aura.

Battlemage was originally meant to be a support class when it first came out. Not just a Support Class but a Party oriented one too (Aura can only be stack with other Battlemages).

But the damage is not good so Nexon improve the damages a little bit.

It is hard to find a party and People don’t want to party so Nexon make Aura stack-able.

Few patches later and we end up getting a Battlemage who hog all the Aura effect.

So, technically Battlemage is going back to its root.

Also, about Battleking’s Bar, I notice that it did not say you can only used it after finishing blow…. Does that mean that you can use it any time without using Finishing Blow?

The only issue I had with the new patch is:

        WHAT HAPPEN TO MY TWISTER?!

It is actually one of the fun part of being a Battlemage (extra invincibility frame) until they changed it.

          October 24, 2014 at 6:37 pm

excuse me but you are incorrect my friend, this was and still is battle mages original description “Using his staff to beat back the Black Wings, the Battle Mage will be the first into danger, placing himself between his teammates and the forces of darkness.” okay so battle mages were not meant to be SUPPORT characters

      • ^-_- ^
        October 23, 2014 at 9:08 am

the passive skills are shit especially nerve stimulation how is that really helpful? then the next one is not that much better it does not make up for the loss of big crunch aura the reaper attack is not that helpful considering its stupid low dps, consider a lvl 200 the effect is dmg = *2% char lvl until lvl 180 so 360% dmg * 12 once every 6 seconds now lets calculate the dmg % 360% * 12 = 4320% dmg now divide it by 6 = 720% dps now factor in how much DOT it loss from the previous dark aura 260% * 3 = 780% dps and that lasted for 8 seconds so 6240%.So i will calculate them both over a 6 second period.New Reaper skill 720% *6 = 4320% and DA DoT 780% *6 = 4680%. ultimately the reaper attack is far weaker than the DoT of the previous dark aura.

        • Anonymous
          October 24, 2014 at 8:07 am

You/your comment are not up to date. The damage of the reaper is [170% + (2% * level)] * 12. So for a lv 180 char, it is 6360% dmg.

And why did they give Battle Mages hypers for Party Shield/Shelter which is mostly useless, instead of Finishing Blow?

    • BaM
      October 22, 2014 at 5:30 pm

finish blow already has a lot of additional effect, like +25% crit and 20% defense ignore, and it used to has some % boss, idk if they removed it

  26. Anonymous
    October 22, 2014 at 4:50 pm

Debuff Aura is useless. I don’t think anyone would use 20% ignore DEF (debuff aura) over 45% damage (dark aura). :/ can they just give us back Dark Twister and get rid of this useless aura?

    • BaM
      October 22, 2014 at 5:31 pm

u would choose between 20% def ign and 15% dmg (not 45%), since 30% dmg is from passive effect, that doesnt matter if its active or not

      • ^-_- ^
        October 23, 2014 at 9:13 am

def ignore maxes at 100% which is easy to get seriously easy to get especially with Finish blows effects so 20% def ign is not worth it in comparison to 15% dmg

Seems like BaMs are shafted imo. It also seems like Nexon favours Explorers over Resistance classes. RED revamps made Explorers much better than they were before, and why can’t Resistance have that?! Nexon playing favourites as always, tsk tsk. Don’t give me that “Explorers is the signature class of MapleStory”, since you (Nexon) created so many classes after them, that renders the argument invalid. Is it REALLY difficult to give fair consideration to all the classes/jobs? Of course, ‘balance’ DOESN’T exist in Nexon’s dictionary. BaM is like dirt with this revamp. I bet you lil f/p -beeps- are laughing your arses off with our nerf. Hopefully it’ll be better post-Tespia, but I won’t have high hopes for it. Yes jaguar artillery does double the no. Of lines, however it doesnt work in summon jaguar mode. Set up time of drill container and HAU lower their dps and effectiveness. i actually liked the cooldown on silent rampage. one less buff to use when reviving in boss maps such as magnus or CRA. and the dmg buff increased by 4times, while the down time is only 2 times of the buff duration, so in a sense its a good thing for WH

I still will not be coming back it seems. I liked the Laser Beam. I liked Siege Mode. I don’t understand why they are trying to make everyone so “mobile”. The Mechanic is a tank… tanks don’t fly through the air… they TANK damage. Why not just give the Mechanic more abilities that suit it’s obvious playing style. “Metal Armor Alloy Research” is a step in the right direction. Homing missile is great. Massive Fire: IRON-B & Massive Fire: SPLASH-F are fucking stupid looking. I am not a bowman dammit, I am a Laser Blasting, Missile Launching, Gatling Gun Shooting Machine of DEATH! Yes I miss the lazor and siege too (hopefully this isn’t the final version of the revamp) but being able spam 2 skills at once on a boss, 65% dodge (total) and 60% damage reduction, and auto healing/no cd amplifier almost makes up for it (just give us back siege in 4th job and make it compatible with the homing missiles and maybe a jazzed up lazor and we’ll be good to go)

Couldn’t care less about BaMs becoming worse but I’ve got mixed feelings for the Wild Hunter changes. Very happy about Exploding Arrows coming back, even if it is just as a hyper that I probably won’t ever use because I’ll never get off my Jaguar. Drill Salvo is fucking awesome now. Assistant Unit isn’t complete and utter shit now that you don’t have to stop attacking to spawn it every eight seconds. Jaguar artillery is nice though I’d rather just have piercing arrow type skill for first and second job instead of it getting nerfed even worse to a double shot. Really seems like they’re getting screwed in general on mutli-mob skills. All the jaguar skills have cooldowns now and Swipe doesn’t even drain HP anymore. You’ll pretty much have to rely on Jaguar artillery now which isn’t particularly terrible but it’s not great. Plus, Sonic hit all around you instead of just in the front so meh. Silent Rampage damage boost is nice but 60 sec duration with a tripled cooldown, horrible, and Beast’s HP boost going from 105% to 50%… just… just why? Mechanics look a lot nicer now, the stubby legs are still stupid but at least everything else was improved. No more Siege Mode though. SPLASH hitting six mobs with continuous fire seems nice though, I guess. Still not going to play.

Really hate that nerf on silent rampage too. Though jaguar artillery seems really cool, looks like it fires at the same rate as WAB, with decent damage too.( more op version of ishtar ring?) Agreed on the fact that i will never get off my jaguar to use jaguar skills, except for bind maybe. And how is Assistant unit shit now that we dont have to keep casting it every 8seconds? Max, unlike other games I know that Nexon actually changes content from test to live server, so I’d like to ask if you know how the KR testers are reacting to these changes? Specifically to Battle Mage’s changes? Positively? Negatively? Are they asking for anything else?

I appreciate any time you take trying to answer this.

  42. October 23, 2014 at 10:56 am

    disappointing revamp for BaM
finishing blow’s animation is so 2012, the hitbox just doesnt match the skill animation at all.
6*330% = 1980%, without enhancement of any sort from hyper passive, it is not on par with the rest of the DPS class, GIVEN THE NAME OF THE JOB : BATTLEMAGE

It’s so pointless to have those auras active effects when you can’t stack them,
and the CD added to those essential skill (BKB IM LOOKING AT YOU) is just stupid despite boosting it to 4900% vs 2800% previously.
For battle master buff, 200s of CD for just 40s of buff duration, and the buff just add one line to the blow skill, seriously? not to mention the buff duration/ cd cant be affected…

while reaper is not completely useless now, it still does little help to BaM overall.

I was expecting a complete overhaul for BaM like in explorer in RED, i was prepared for drastic change in the control of the job, and I dont see why they shouldnt make BaM as the top dps mage in mobbing and bossing, since they are supposed to battle

Name of class doesnt imply that it should be the best in terms of dps or whatnot. Such a flawed arguement. So should Zero deal Zero damage since thats their name?

way to nitpick.. I think he means Battle Mages are designed to be a battle-oriented class like warriors. Therefore it doesn’t make sense that our damage was nerfed so heavily.

@Stitch… same. I was expecting a revamp similar to Adventurers/the RED update. Adventurers’ skills all look amazing. not sure why it is so hard for Nexon to make a decent update for BaMs. =/

BaMs in this tespia patch is garbage and battle master buff is not good enough to even have a CD and BKB with CD dropped their dps to trash and so much more im tired of listening all the flaws of this update because i did not even get started on WH and Mechs though they do not have as many as BaMs.

they should make BKB 0cd like before or Death Contract less cooldown and add 100% Elemental Reset, i think it’ll just enough if they insist on one aura….

        • ^-_- ^
          October 24, 2014 at 1:59 pm

That one aura thing is stupid it’ll make BaMs like how they were before only using dark aura but i think the skill animation for the blow skills should be changed to a small Aura Death Scythe and gradually gets larger but not to large and BKB turns into a massive Aura Death Scythe in addition to what the guy up there said about no CD on BKB and toggling it with a longer duration on BM with a shorter CD much like that of BB & BCA.

the “new” jag is the onyx jaguar (it’s not really new but it’s like event only) and the assistant thing is a current WH skill so I can assume you haven’t played WH yet.

Dark shock has 1050% dmg, can become 1785% dmg (if you max dark genesis) and is actually the teleport mastery now. Also, using it will turn dark chains and battle spurt into 1610% dmg attacks. I like it ALOT better than the old dark shock that was not even worth using after level 170.

Also, because of the reliability of the new “amp” and the 2 new bossing skills (that iron B thing is worthless probably) I wonder how much stronger mechs are with this update. (even if it doesn’t have 100% crit, Splash F’s dps is already higher, and with the missiles that’s even more powa)

Just gonna say it, I hate everything about this. I like the BaM, the current one. The one who BKBs until his spin is up, uses dark gen, and spins like a fuck-tard. I loved that, it was unique. He was the only class that played like that. Sure, Phantom has a spin, but people make fun of you if you use it to take down a boss. Now a BaM with drain and that skill, it was spin to win baby, and they took that from me. Guess Nexon is telling me to stop playing maple…Maybe I will take your advice Nexon, I just might

  48. Anonymous
    October 24, 2014 at 8:12 pm

Geez you guys complain a lot, first you wanted a revamp now your upset with what they came out with. Speed isn’t an issue with BaMs in GMS especially since most Elemental staffs are cheap as hell now. I will admit I will miss twister spin and the new aura seems useless but other then that everything else is fine. BaMs were extremely overpowered with all three auras being stack able and could easily be said to be the strongest out of the three original resistance. Especially since Mechs were nerfed patches later. Now WHs skills are a different story with the new skills and what I’ve seen in the video some of their skills seem like they are difficult to use vs the current play style. I do applaud them for at lease trying to stick to the theme of each class instead of trying to completely change like they did when they made the battle mage all rainbowy however with all that being said I must say Mechs got the most out of this revamp.

    • ^-_-^
      October 24, 2014 at 11:12 pm

wow ok BaMs are op out of all original resistance classes way to hit for the top of the bottom. We must complain if they make a mess such as this so that they can change it and better the characters. stacking auras still did not make them op what is op to you? 0.o any thing that hits over 100k hey? BaMs are one of the weakest classes in the game Mechs hav gotten a really nice revamp and wild hunters play style has not changed much at all and it def did not loose dps like bams and now you run on with ele staffs those things are so weak and have no active set bonuses which means its weaker than other staffs such as dragon tail war staff, fafnir mana crown and sweetwater staff it maybe 2 stages faster but could never beat them in dps with BB + BCA

      • Anonymous
        October 25, 2014 at 12:30 am

First off having three auras that can increase your range, speed, and defense makes you pretty strong vs two other classes that do not have skills that stack like that at once. Second I seen Battle mages hit way higher then Whs and Mechs combine in my server and in youtube videos though this maybe due to the fact that Mechs were/are a dead class as no one has been seen playing them since 2012 and Wild Hunters dps isn’t that great.

As far as your complains against/for speed and power for one the empress set is crappy without a full set and the elemental staffs 5~8 are still stronger then an empress staff by itself. I’m sure many players who play BaMs don’t own or try to collect the full Sweet Water set, and Fafnir weapons gear is expensive. Generally speaking unless you already have said gear or your server has a bunch of sweetwater/fanrir equips ready to be picked up by many players the elemental staff is the best opinion.

Wild Hunter’s play style has been mixed between skills it can and can’t user while on its mount vs the current style where everything is on the jaguar. Which will take some getting use to though from what i’ve seen in the videos max has posted I’m not 100% sure all skills will be used or will be useful. and Again I admit that this revamp seemed to be more pointed in mechs favor, but seeing as they were heavily nerfed patches until this one I’d say they deserve a little power up.

Regardless. The focus of this argument is on the battle mages and how you feel they deserve to be left alone or from what I’m reading with most of everyone’s ideas here just have newer animations to the blow skills and toggle effect for bkb and to add to that you said battle mages aren’t strong and they are the weakest in the game. While they maybe right about the animations needing an update making bkb a toggle skill would increase the dsp they already have Dark Aura’s DoT makes training worthless because they can literally just find a safe spot to camp at a training ground and get the mobs hp down low enough and when other people kill the mobs the BaMs obtain all of the exp I know because i’ve done that before on my BaM lol.

Having stack able auras makes us not have to choose which is more important nor does it make us look for a party. If anything currently most BaMs that are complaining right now are able to solo half the bosses in the game with little to no problem with their current gear. The proof that is basically all over youtube. An unfunded BaM can kill zakum, most likely horntail, easy mode gollux, and probably hilla by my count. Semi-Funded to funded can solo half of if not all bosses(Aside from CRA) in the game. While I have yet to see Mechs solo Madman ranmaru, Hard Mode Gollux, Empress, Arkum the list goes on. So much for being the weakest class in the game.

        • ^-_-^
          October 25, 2014 at 1:02 pm

did you read my post? i said one of the weakest classes its survivability is insane yes but you are telling me i should be happy about losing dps, def, dmg which was not top tier to begin with. If you are in a server in which these are not readily available switch servers cuz in bello mana crown goes for 100mil-300mil cheap as crap and the other pieces range from 750mil-1.6bil not that expensive. Set effects from these sets demolish any scrolling/enhancements you can put on these elemental staffs. so instead of nerfing a class make all better. im not saying fuck WH and Mechs im saying give all of them good treatment because what is going to happen is they are going to release this BaMs are going to be a mess and people are going to complain then they are just going to re-balance them again giving us back the ability to run multiple auras and take off the CD of BKB and BM anyway. So why not make them change it now? instead of waiting 6-8months? i have played this game for a very long time in fact i shall tell you how long ive been playing this game from 2006 so i know all to well of what happens after a change such as this

    BaM update
    Pros:
    +25 matt
    +50% HP
    +280%/s “DoT” (reaper’s attack – ADA DoT)
    +30% def ignore
+10% boss (applies to all skills)
    Cons:
    -5 att speed
    -65% dodge
    -10% damage absorption
    -20% abnormal status resistance
    -20% elemantal resistance
    -20% boss (finishing blow only)
    -20% crit
    – a lot of speed

    FB & BKB:
    Old: 1 BKB + 1 FB in 2 sec: 2180%/sec
    New: 1 BKB + 9 FB in 10 sec: 2271%/sec

Obs: i considered only dark aura is active.

    My thoughts:
I think the update wasn’t that bad. It changes BaM’s playstyle. The dodge and dmg absorption lost is recovered with 50% hp. The att speed and critical lost is partially recovered with bonus matt, DoT and def ignore

    • Not Him ^
      October 25, 2014 at 7:15 pm

ok you obviously are not a true fan or ever mained a high leve/ strong BaM if so changing a play style from what is was is massacring the entirety of the class dodge and dmg absorption is never going to be recovered by a messily 50% hp increase, and you being ok with a dps loss by speed is another clear indication of what i said above. then the critical loss can not be replaced by matt -_- omg. ok after referring to an update that is not a rebalance but a revamp is never supposed to be wasn’t bad was the f/p mage revamp not so bad? no it was fucking awesome! but you are Fine with the mediocrity that was placed on the revamp of the Battle mage. and i agree with the guy that posted up there saying “BaMs are going to be a mess and people are going to complain then they are just going to re-balance them again giving us back the ability to run multiple auras and take off the CD of BKB and BM anyway. So why not make them change it now? instead of waiting 6-8months?”

Err… BaM is the only class i ever mained, btw, i am 210 atm, and i am not saying this update was good, but it wasnt as terrible as ppl was saying. What i meant to change playstyle was that now we dont just spam FB+BKB, we can use others skills, like dark gene, that is way better now. I also liked these reaper themed animation.

        • Remove CD on BKB and BM then revamp would be nice
          October 26, 2014 at 5:51 pm

listen i understood what you meant by change of playstyle but DG is still very useless and all those other 2nd and 3rd job skills are also useless and the addition of those insane amount of CD is absurd. and you did not have to spam FB+BKB but it was the most proficient way of attacking every class has an optimum way of playing but forcing people to use these 2nd and 3rd job skills is fucked up and at the same time having to chose between auras. this update becomes far worst when you look at the numbers

        • Remove CD on BKB and BM then revamp would be nice
          October 26, 2014 at 5:59 pm

so if FB cast rate is 810ms the old dps calculated with the delay caused by BKB would be 8* per 10 seconds = 33920 while the new dps calculated w/o a delay caused by BKB would attack 12* per 10seconds but with the CD = 28660 which would equate to a lose in 5260 dp10 seconds which is a lose in 526 dps not taking into account the attack speed in any case which would cause an even greater lose in dps based on the lose in attack speed from this update which is disgusting and why so many people have such a grand issue with this update.

  51. What's wrong?
    October 26, 2014 at 11:11 am

In my honest opinion, I think some bams are just getting a little too greedy. As a player of all three jobs, I think that the revamp is perfectly fine for Bams. Tho something’s have been removed, but they are given buffs in other ways as well. Bams have always been strong and don’t think the single aura issue is that bad. I don’t really see people asking for Auras in PQs and the original effects have been changed to passive so it’s still beneficial for the Bam itself.

    • October 26, 2014 at 11:17 am

In fact I think this revamp is a little unfair to WHs. Their new play style is complicated and they don’t even have new skill skins. It’s just old recycled ones == their set ups are inconvenient and can only be used in one mode.(correct me if i am wrong) though it is kinda cool to have a jaguar fight alongside you xD

I’m quite happy with the mechanic revamp, finally they get what they deserve. But I don’t get what’s the point of Iron B. It’s not very useful and Splash F seems so much better. Also I’m quite unhappy they removed the lasers and Siege which are the signature skills of Mechanics (especially siege). I hope they can make Iron B somehow like siege? But then again it would be too OP with the homing missiles.

        • Anonymous
          October 26, 2014 at 6:11 pm

and you know why? cuz they got 100% elemental reset to ignore physical resist (only can deal half damage), that’s why makes BaM already lose in the beginning compare with other magicians. still too greedy? i don’t think so.

      • Anonymous
        October 26, 2014 at 12:35 pm

yeah this revamp was indeed unfair to WHs. But dont forgot that they get a bind skill, and jaguar artillery which greatly increases their dps. Summon jaguar is just complex and inconvient, doubt any wild hunters out there will use it.

        • October 26, 2014 at 7:16 pm

You do have a point there. When I said greedy, I meant those who complained about the reaper and the unstackable auras. That’s why I used the word “some”. I still think it is unfair for the WHs. Not using summon jaguar = losing half their skills ><

Really hate losing those jaguar skills too 😦 But what choice do we have? Just be thankful that they didnt nerf our op buffs, and gave us more lines and a bind. My only problem now is that they didnt give any new animation skills. I saw a video with Inferno-F being used. It’s a LOT slower than siege. (those 6 hits average out to 1 hit per 0.18 seconds, so it looks like this is a nerf to mech damage instead)

        • October 26, 2014 at 10:55 pm

Your full of shit no seriously full of shit “I think some bams are just getting a little too greedy. As a player of all three jobs, I think that the revamp is perfectly fine for Bams.” your comment was bull shit yes they did get a few nice passives from the auras but comparison with the old auras + BB and BCA those passives dont mean shit. + drain aura has no passives and its effect is mediocre at best. so you are saying i am “GREEDY” because i love speed? and then you said “Bams have always been strong and don’t think the single aura issue is that bad.” if that were the case they would have never introduced the activation of multiple auras after there first re-balance and in regard to them being strong LOL you my friend must have never played another mage class if you give the same range to a f/p arch and a BaM the BaM would lose in dps. As for you i can say that you are also being greedy With WH revamp but i will not because you are not being greedy you are be sensible changing of a play style is ridiculous but telling people they are being greedy then you posting shit you would like for another class is Asinine and Hypocritical!

      • October 26, 2014 at 7:28 pm

If you love a class, damage wouldn’t bother you. I have played every single class in maple story and among the mages I think that Bam is the most fun and they’re strong! I still believe that it’s still fine after the update. I agree they should remove the cd on BKB but otherwise, the Drain aura seems alright to me. Anyways BAMs have been given more HP now. Among the 3, Bam currently is the strongest. Nexon has pretty much been biased to BAMs and given them ALOT. Idk, it’s my opinion and I still think BAMs are kinda fine. I’m fine with WH being left like this too. FYI, it’s actually my least favorite among the 3, I’m not actually biased to WHs.

excuse me i am sorry but i must agree with the other guy the idea that you can even accept a damage loss in a “REVAMP” is preposterous. BaMs did not only lose Dmg but also Attack speed defense and avoid-ability which can never be made up for with a messily 50% in crease in hp also with the loss of blood drain we must now use much more potions. BaMs are not currently the strongest yes with the none CD on BKB they can mob as madness is crazy but now the training after lvl 170 is nerfed bossing is nerfed and just because i like the class i must accept this? In fact it is because we all love this class that we should all be in an uproar after no class in the history of MS has ever been nerfed after a Revamp, but based on what you are saying is that i should be ok and fine with this as you are fine, ok, nonchalant about. after writing this i have become as equally infuriated as the guy in the post before yours, because for you to be ok with this means you hated how the class was before or even just want the BaMs to be spited while the other resistance are rewarded for their equally low damage i shall end it here before i get even more irritated.

I think this revamp was well done. Aside from the mathematics of breaking down the class in terms of dps and dpm, this revamp went back to the roots of the class. When the class was first released, it had like an anti bishop playstyle feel to it but this new revamp gives us a stronger supportive role which I find to be pretty cool. We still have all the passive bonuses from the auras when on body boost and grand light aura so not really a raw damage nerf. Having multiple BaMs in parties will also benefit them a lot more like it used to before stacking auras first came out. Blue aura gets dispel, which can have its use at bosses . Bkb was buffed to 700% dmg at the cost of a 9 sec cd .. mehh, not that big of a deal imo, at least it can be used independently now.
Bad a$$ reaper backs us up now with 360% x 12 every 6 secs. I see so many Pros IMO. It’s the little tweaks we got from the revamp, without changing up the playstyle so dramatically like last time, that allows me to really love this revamp. All these people claming BaMs are awful and not worth it anymore obviously play strictly for damage . Besides it’s still kmst, a lot more room for improvement like hopefully updating skill animations CMON NEXON SHOW A LITTLE BIT MORE LOVE TOWARDS US

    • What's wrong?
      October 27, 2014 at 5:18 am

Yes! I completely agree with ^. Now that i realise that BKB can be used independently, i think the cd is perfectly fine. I hope more of THOSE BaMs can understand, and honestly, aside for NEW SKILL ANIMATIONS, i dont think nexon will make anymore changes for BaM. I just hope they dont screw it up xD It feels like nexon is aiming to bring maple story back to its original, more interactive type of community by having unstackable auras. I kinda look forward to it!

Dear “Remove CD on BKB and BM then revamp would be nice” guy,

If you really think that the revamp isnt good enough and dont appreciate it, then I would really pray hard that Nexon gives up and bring bams back to its current state without revamping it. (Though i dont wish for it to happen. Its unfair for the rest and i love bams too ><)

        October 27, 2014 at 9:03 am

        Dear “What’s wrong?”,
I would fucking rather they DON’T LAY THEIR HANDS on BaMs than getting some shit like this.
I played BaM as my main since they came out and the way they mob (FB > BKB > FB > BKB > FB > … , and teleport if possible) is the reason why I like them.
Dark genesis is useless for me (not completely, but still useless for me) since I will only be using it for the extra dark lightning damage and if I’m not mistaken, we lost a lot of AoEs.
And to the anonymous above, ” BKB was buffed to 700% dmg at the cost of a 9 sec cd .. mehh, not that big of a deal imo, at least it can be used independently now.” It sounds like you’re saying : “Oh great, now we don’t have to use FB to activate BKB so let’s just relax during the cooldown.” Don’t tell me you’re not going to use FB at all.
        Sincerely, me.

wow both of you are ignorant DMG is everything, dps is everything. “oh i like how they nerfed this class but gave it a mediocre skill that gets none of the critical/def ignore/ boss attack %” “oh yay they can now only use 1 aura at a time” you moron the reason they made the changes to this shit in the first place was because the dps on BaMs was garbage in comparison to other classes. “oh i like how they put a CD on BKB and it can be used independently if takes it bacl to the old way” had you forgotten about the finisher? BKB is now a seriously buffed The Finisher in BaMs hyper skills or had you forgotten about its “Original play style” where Bams could choose to use an attack after a Blow attack to get more dmg in? Please stop talking on matters of which you do not know!

        October 27, 2014 at 10:45 am

Listen you little sack of shit lmfao, NOT EVERYONE PLAYS JUST FOR DAMAGE. I will admit that damage is important now more than ever and in my case I have funded my BaM well enough to solo every boss with the exception of hard magnus and chaos vellum but even when i was unfunded I enjoyed the class and its mechanics cause it was just that much fun for me(especially during the PvP era). Yes our dps has been lowered but we still dish out decent damage with this revamp like CMON, what a bunch of whiners!
It was a sad day for us BaMs when they took away the finisher which was an awesome skill, being able to link an attack after FB was really fun to do just like being able to spam Bkb. BaMs also didnt really need all that avoidness IMO. We only really die if we are seduced and 1/1’d by bosses or by damage reflect, but we did receive extra status resistance, the ability to dispel with blue aura and more HP% buffs. This revamp gives us a more strategic gameplay, during high end bosses we can choose to either heal the entire party and quickly swift to dark aura or blue aura to dispel a status effect. If you damage whores are really this butt hurt then by all means play another class; only solution at this point.

Now i am to be happy with the play style change that forces me to use useless skills, a loss in attack speed and defenses and now a 10 second CD on a skill that we had full map coverage on for a messily little % increase -_-? He was talking about this ” You switch classes now and then they just change that one also” can you even comprehend what people are trying to say?

        • Let them whine
          October 27, 2014 at 12:38 pm

I guess we should just keep quiet and let them feel unhappy about this revamp (nerf in their POV)
I guess many people are just becoming more and more damage minded and I do agree that damage is quite important, but as long as a class is fun, and has decent damage, I believe it is a class worth playing. It’s quite sad to see people putting damage as first priority :< I really wish Nexon can somehow implement a system where people can only main a class they sincerely love. For who they are, not cos they're OP. (It's impossible, I know) As a huge mechanic fan, I stayed with my mechanic for all these years despite it being not very mobile and not very strong (in terms of defense. I mean c'mon, a tank has less defense than a guy with magic gaurd) There are times I would whine about the rather low damage and low defenses but at the end of the day I remind myself that I'm still playing it cos I LOVE IT for who HE IS. Not for damage. CHECKY FTW ^^V People who complain A LOT about Bam's revamp should just play Zero or something

Why people just don’t understand, these BaMs doesn’t wanna be the highest dps character or what. just compare with other magicians, we want some fairness.

First, revamp should not make dps lower in the beginning, I don’t think that’s the point.

Seccond, new auras doesn’t make more contribution to party consider only can choose one, and passive only for BaM. in the old time at least you can benefit from 3 kinds of it, and now it’s even worse for BaM himself cuz we lose Body Boost & Grand Light Aura to double or triple them.

So you guys call that characteristic?
Hmm, maybe you’re too special that I can’t understand lol

Not to mention BKB’s 9 secs cd, if reaper has less cd, I believe things might be a little bit change, but it’s just not now at this moment.

            I call this bullshit
Nexon themselves have made DPS/DPM an undisputed role in the game itself, it is not up to us to decide if we want to be concerned about dps. You can be delusional all you want, but don’t shove it down to others just because it makes you feel better

BaM wasnt op to begin with, why nerf it? I shall repeat, BaM is supposed to battle, Bam is supposed to be strong in offensive skills, which means, nerfing their DPS is ridiculous

It seems you don’t really play BaM through and through
Have you ever pay attention while playing BaM? if you havent, please just keep your mouth shut about changes in BaM, and stay with your mechanic

    Question:

Does passive and active effect from an aura stack for BaM when you activate one?
For example when using blue aura do i get 20% passive + 15% active = 35% total damage reduction? Or does it turn into 15% only but shared for all unlike passive?

    • Anonymous
      October 27, 2014 at 7:19 am

passive only for you, active for you and party

      • MonsterZed
        October 27, 2014 at 8:07 am

I know that part. I mean what happens when BaM activates his aura – does he:

        a) get benefit of passive + beneft of active (others just active)
        b) only active until aura is deactivated
        c) only passive for self, rest gets active effect, but not BaM himself
        d) larger of the two but not both at once.
        e) some other scenario

Let’s take dark aura as example here. Passive is 30% damage, Active 15%. So as a BaM, when i turn it on, do i get:

        a) 45% damage boost (30% passive +15% active), others get 15%
        b) -15%, because passive is deactivated
        c) 30% passive damage boost, active working for others, but not me
        d) 30% because passive is stronger one.
        e) some other scenario

That’s what makes me wonder here.

          October 27, 2014 at 8:23 am

          A) BaMs would get passsive + active, while party only gets active, so BaMs will get passives from all auras regardless of which one it has on.

-_- can you not see? thats only 3.5mil*6 with a 330%dmg finishing blow, at 450 k range with 240% dmg finishing blow i hit 3mil*6 + 4.5mil*7= 18mil + 31.5mil and as you can see reaper is still useless against bosses and in this point does not make up for the DoT loss from dark aura so every 0.81 seconds he hits for 21mil = 252mil/ 10seconds because he can get in 12 attacks in 10 seconds. now i can hit for 49.5mil every second that is 495mil in 10 seconds oh i forgot to add in the DoT from dark aura. The math was done my current BaM rapes this trash.

I’m generally very liking the BaM revamp from what i see here, but one hyper skill makes no sense whatsoever – Battle Master. What is the point of reduced soul requirement for Death if it’s cooldown stays the same? And the duration vs cd is also unappealing (20% uptime).

    • OMG
      October 27, 2014 at 4:07 pm

um did you not see all of the other hypers? they are just as useless and you like this trash? the reaper is useless on bosses. the removal of the DoT on dark aura is not replaced in this instance. the lose in attack speed you got over that? BaMs w/o yellow aura on lost +3 atk speed thats crazy.

      • MonsterZed
        October 28, 2014 at 2:52 am

Well i haven’t been playing for a while, so i might be outta the loop. That said i’m aware damage is not through the roof, but it’s a class with lots of support and defense, so some losses in damage are understandable. Else why would anyone touch f/p, hero etc classes if BaM had comparable damage with far greater utility?

Also i’m not sure if it’s this revamp or not, but i noticed that BaM gets very high min crit damage (70% when using battle rage), stable mastery (another hole he had back in the past), and not as powerful as before, but much more varied aura play – lowering elemental resist on end game bosses, giving drain ability to others, healing status every 5 sec – i like the varied choices that are indeed choices, and not stack all you got and let’s rock. Upgrades to party shield also aren’t half bad.

As for damage i counted 90% passive damage boost out of the box (battle mastery, spell boost, dark aura – each 30% passive damage boost) + 15% more if you choose dark aura as active. I won’t do deep math here, it is possible BaM lost some, but asides that death (hate anything uncontrollable and indeed does not seem to do jack at bosses) BaM looks like really fun class for me.

Unlike the mechanic who without siege feels like a 3 legged horse in a race.

i am not saying there is nothing wrong with the other two classes. but it really killed BaMs with a survivability lose by a loss in 65% dodge a loss of 220% def loss in crit loss in def ignore and really you people talk way to damn much about helping parties, if you so want to be healed grab a fucking bishop they are the party play class not BaMs and honestly FUCK PARTIES party play is shit not enough people willing to stay on while in a party so many people afking hard to replace people who left, fuck this party shit and fuck you all that talk about this “varied aura” and ” yay non-stackable aura” BaMs were not meant to be supporters and i believe it is very Stupid of nexon to have done so while they know their numbers are in decline in a number of worlds. how do they look like fun to you? please do explain because how they are now is fun to everyone that is currently playing them. tis why they are still playing them only crying because we were promised a new revamp and then got this shit. They change up the play style to appease some folks and get a few more people to play the class that will stop playing after about level 70. See most of you who are talking about loving this update are not true BaMs fans or never even played the end game class or you would be just as or even more furious at this revamp. then you go on talking about mechanics fuck you, you selfish piece of shit!

I have mained a BaM since the Resistance first came out (and yes I know its not 2012 but I love the class so nuts to you) and this so-called revamp just waters down what BaMs are capable of. Does Nexon even know the meaning of Revamp anymore because it seems like they’ve made up their own meaning.

      New and ”improved” BaM:
      *75% total damage
      *15% dodge rate
      *-15% damage taken
      *50% status resist
      *2 attack speeds
      *11% hp regained per attack
      *20% def ignore
      *10% ele resist ignore
      *10% boss

Old bonuses in grand light aura:
      *75% total damage
      *80% dodge rate
      *20% status resist
      *6 attack speeds
*10% hp drained (from blood drain)

Love/Hate this revamp atm. Losing 4 atk speeds wrecks our dps but at the same time I kinda like the removal of stacking auras, less buffing to do, able to be useful in many situations for example dispelling at a boss or healing the party with drain aura. The cooldown on Bkb is a let down for sure. Don’t get me wrong, the fastest attacking mage title suits the battle mage perfectly it’s just that Nexon’s vision of BaMs is a Warrior/Bishop hybrid it seems.

          DMG absorption + 20%
          resistance + 30%
          stance 100%

          Old

          Crit chance +40%
          Dmg 90%
          Atk speed +6
          dodge +80%
          hp + 130%
          def + 330%
          teleport distance + 190 L/R 295 U/D W/hyper +290L/R +395 U/D
          DMG absorption + 30%
          resistance + 20%
stance 190% LOL because stance had 90% and Battle master had 100% =P

in my opinion mobility was killed, crit was killed, atk speed was killed, def was killed, dodge was killed
and the fact that we did not have to teleport as much because BKB can kill anything we lost some time also because we now have to run around the map.

            few solutions
            in my opinion, few solutions:

            1.change BKB,reaper or BM’s cd
2.make a elemental reset passive to Debuff Aura
3.make aura stackable, maybe 3 or what, let us really can make a choice
4.bring body boost back consider grand light aura might be too strong

i’m not saying they should make it all happened, but at least make some progress you know.

          • Anonymous
            October 28, 2014 at 10:13 am

well considering BKB is BaMs # 1 go to skill kill the CD give BM a longer duration with a shorter CD much like BB/BCA was so you can spam it but you can rebuff when it goes off at lvl 30 of course. Reaper is trash if i can not be used on bosses. elemental resistance does not faze me but if it could give us back some passive dodge i would prefer it. and your last idea is perfect but we still have to choose which aura to use it on which is a headache ” do i use yellow aura and get my +4 speed or dark aura to get 30% dmg” i would never use drain, blue or debuff aura they are trash when you can use Yellow or Dark. so stacking them would be in BaMs and a parties best interest i can stand these people talking about party this party that but they like how BaMs can only use one aura makes no damn sense.

according to reaper’s description: When fighting a boss, this skill will activate after 3 hits and will hit only one enemy. This skill cannot activate more than once per 6 seconds.so i think it’s work well with bosses it’s just long cd now. correct me if i’m wrong 🙂

and elemental reset do work well like bosses have physical resistance, it can let us deal the normal damage instead of 50%.

but we do magical not elemental unless elemental is magical which to me does not make sense but in regard to reaper watch the last video with the BaM vs Pink Bean it looks to me as if it only attacks after it kills one of the statues. i will check again to make sure. but 6 seconds in a boss battle is a very long time so imagine using BKB which that BaM never did in the PB video

just like luminous does light and dark magic, not elemental, but it still work for physical resistance bosses. in short, if you don’t use elemental reset in this game, no matter you use physical or magical damage, physical resistance bosses always cut your damage into 50%.

and that video you speak of, i think it’s she turn off the skill, cuz no little reaper follow around you noticed? and there’s no buff show on the corner 😮

Some auras’ effects arent affected by BB or GLA, and BB and GLA dont stack, so ur calculations are wrong

um his calculations are correct if you used only BCA but it seems you can not do proper math because if he had stacked BB and BCA those numbers would have been through the roof! though it does seem he may have exaggerated with the def % and the stance which he even made a joke about in the end or did you not even look at the numbers? so the only thing was the def which is probably about 220% or he may actually be correct but for “TheInspekta” his number are way off that was a terrible attempt at a comparison

But the reaper would still be useless at bosses now if they were to tweek it top attack after ever 3-4 attacks then it would be insane rather than taking in souls because it means you must kill a monster before it can attack -_- useless

Oh gawd, 460k range with 1.7k Int only? Revamped BaM looks pretty powerful. My Bsp with 5k int and a perfected staff only reaches 430k. AND people are complaining it got nerfed? WUT?

You cant compare the range of 2 different class and make judgements; except 460k range with 1.7k int is indeed a bit ridiculous.

I am not sure about how she is hitting 460k range with only 1.7k int but the math was done for the pre-revamp and post-revamp and the post revamp had less dodge less def less crit less atk speed it lost in all areas besides dmg% and matk which dmg% was the same unless DA was on and matk only got a 25matk bonus. and currently my BaM has 5k int also and is also in the 400k range.

its might be possible that they changed the staff matk formula especially for BaM? Otherwise 460k range is just illogical imo

i’m guessing i.e. hoping that it is because of some formula change for battle mage, which will then make up for the loss in attack speed. If they follow up with making staff attacks independent of staff attack speed (like other mages), then we are about even with other mages.

I’m really upset how you can only use one Aura at a time. BaMs have gone back to basics and It’s really bad.

we lost our main end game attack to a 10second CD which killed our dps and to top it off we also got a nerf in attack speed -_-

They should have given all three classes new skill animations because both WH and BaMs are still using their original skill animations i dont know for WH but for BaMs. the blow skills should like the guy all the way up there in to comments said ” Be of an aura death scythe the first job should be really small then scale up to a nice sized one for fourth job then Battle King’s Bar should be a massive aura death scythe with the same effects and dmg but that animation would be so cool it would meld well with the death and aura theme. But i agree with so many of the other BaMs that are in an up roar but if what i have seen is true 460k range with only 1.7k int i am pleased with that aspect but the CD on BKB should be removed and it should have an automatic activation after FB and why is it that BaMs have such useless hyper passives why not give FB some love add a line add 20% dmg and add boss dmg sense it was taken away from it in the revamp? just take out shelters hypers for it or extend Battle Masters duration and decrease the CD so as to make it much like BB and BKB were you can not spam it but when it is finished you can reuse it but give it an additional effect that cuts the CD on the reaper just a few suggestions for BaMs. i am in no position to comment on WH and Mechs be it that i only have a lvl 140 WH and a lvl 145 Mech that i really have not played in years

I have mixed feelings about what you said —> “… the CD on BKB should be removed and it should have an automatic activation after FB…”
Let’s say it has an automatic activation after FB.
When you’re fighting pink bean and you’re spamming FB with auto-activating BKB. Unfortunately, when you used FB, pink bean casted damage reflect (in a very short time) and you couldn’t stop your BKB and then BOOM — R.I.P.
In this case, the no-auto-activating BKB would have saved your ass although your hands might cramp sometimes.

they could make it so Finishing Blow only activates FB, but allow BKB to autochain with FB.

That way, you can spam Finishing Blow when damage reflect is about to show, and use BKB autochain->FB when you know it is safe.

apparently the revamp is going to the main server tomorrow.. I’m somehow doubting there will be any changes to skills (even if Battle Mages were overly nerfed)..

well it can be made into a toggle skill that can auto activate but i hate having to press another button to use it and then it take s up my entire chat bar with
” this skill can not be activated by itself”
