MapleStory’s Winter Update!
Finally the MapleStory team has released a teaser for this winter’s update! They said it will contain many things like reopening (and perhaps updating) older jobs, a new PvP, and even a new area for level 200+! The first patch will be released on December 18.

On December 18, the winter update, which many people have been waiting for, will begin!
This winter update will feature the reopening of previously closed jobs, exciting player versus player content, a new area for users who are level 200+, and many events which people have requested. These events are bigger and better than ever!
The first part of this update will be released on December 18. This cold winter, we are going to have a hot update and we hope to continue it for the coming season, so all of you can have a lot of fun!

Near the top of this image of the character selection screen, it says Chance of 1+2 Storm Growth! Please press the Burning Button!
Hmm… if you guys remember during the Legend update so many years ago, the event with the EXP bottles was called 1+1, does this mean you’ll have a chance to get 2 EXP bottles from one character?
They also posted a picture of this update’s Attendance Board, nothing really exciting…
Finally, there was this image of the Maple Contents Stamp Book! This will be an additional way to collect Winter Coins, as once you get all the stamps, you can get the prize at the bottom.
From top to bottom, left to right, it looks like this will include:
- Black Heaven
- Gold Beach (?)
- Various bosses (?)
- ???
- Star Planet
- Friends Story
- Mushroom Kingdom
- Evolving World
- Dimensional Library
- World-merged party quests

Im really excited about new PvP and lvl 200+ areas. Seriously, 1 or 2 maps to train from 170 to 250… We need more high lvl contents, and 5th job too. They didnt mentioned nothing about that but… who knows? 😛
Id be really disappointed if they just add one more city to that future world. But sadly i think that is what they are going to do
Currently only Aran and Zero are closed, but I bet they’ll include an Aran & Evan revamp which they mentioned during the summer.

Old textures, bad combo system, spam final blow and tempest….. Yea
YES, we need this to happen! I’m tired of those crappy old skill textures! They need to give Aran and Evan unique hairstyles and faces during creation and unique link skills and better movement skills (stupid combat step double jump and teleport @_@). More attacking skills that are actually useful works too!
no 5th job?
Sadly no! I think we’ll see 5th job in Tespia much earlier than in the real server, 4th job took like 6 months of testing so you can imagine how long 5th job (with like 20 new characters) will take!
I hope they dont add it the same way they did with hyper skills, that was unfair. All jobs should get 5th at the same time.

Nope, I think they’re not going to add many more jobs because people keep complaining about the current ones :p
And considering 5th job is coming, so adding more classes will make it more stressful.

I went to the official Korea MapleStory website and stumbled upon the actual piece of Developer’s Notes.
Just as I expected, many users are expecting the remake and return of the Aran class.
Well then, Aran and Evan revamp anyone?

I don’t really get Nexon’s logic… Changing skills now will just make things dumb…. With new skills/revamp now, a lot of the skills will become useless because the *ahem 5th job is coming… All the remake they make now will pretty much become just sparkles and sprinkles the moment you you reach 5th… Just a waste of time and they will need to redo the whole revamp again…
They really need some serious remake of the game… adding new things but not changing the old stuff just makes the game worse and worse mainly because the “newer” system is usually better than older system. Having the “older” system is just a waste in the system and more processing…
A lot of the people are complaining about how MS requires so much RAM just to process this game…
I partly agree with u about 4th job being useless at end game, but we have to keep in mind that the game is pretty unbalanced atm and they have to fix it (although we aready know nexon isnt very good at that), and that is not easy to have good ideas to create a new skills for 38 jobs (36, excluding zero and evan), so they may change some stuff to be able to add more skills.
Moreover, 5th job was officially confirmed only 1 year ago, and its not enough time to do all the work, so maybe they are doing this revamp just to dont let us without any new content
