MapleStory has been SO boring lately, other than the addition of Mechanical Grave. This patch is no different, adding only events and bug fixes… this summer had better be amazing Nexon!!

A couple of things about MapleStory 2 were also posted, so I’ll go over those first. They even got into the Valentine’s Day spirit with this… homage to 50 Shades of Grey?

First of all, they put up a poll asking which of these three hairstyles they should add into the game. Currently, the one on the left (Raised Head) is beating out the other two (Reggae Head, 5:5 Parted) in a landslide.

The MapleStory 2 team also posted a super cute thank you letter to all the testers as well as wallpapers for each of your characters! Whoops I forgot to put on my clothes before the beta ended…

They had a post about bug reporting as well, and how many users abused bugs instead of reporting them. They wanted to add a reason to report them, so they talked about how they’ll compensate users who are the first to report major bugs, like one person from the CBT received a 300,000 Won certificate to a store!

Let’s move on to MapleStory. They added a Star Planet History which you can access, that lets you see information about everything in Star Planet that you’ve participated in. This also lets you see your daily time spent there, as well as daily Mileage gain.

The first event is the returning Duel at the Sheep Ranch, running from now until March 11. From 7am~11pm at xx:15 and xx:45, users will be invited to join the game!

You’ll be split into 3 sheep and 2 wolves, and each group has their own win conditions. At least one sheep must survive until the end to win or all the sheep must be captured for the wolves to win. You’ll get 500 points if you win and 100 points if you lose.

These points can be traded in for one of two prizes, each costing 5000 points. The first is the Lamb’s Belt which gives 7 all stats, 1 attack and magic attack, with 3 slots. The second is the Lamb’s Shoulderpad which gives 4 all stats, 2 attack and magic attack, with 1 slot. Both items are untradeable.

If you win 20 times, you’ll get the Saviour of the Sheep Ranch medal which gives 5 all stats and 5 attack and magic attack (the stats expire though). Some of your Sheep/Wolf skills in the actual game will be upgraded as well.

If you play 40 times, you’ll get the I’m Really a Wolfsheep title.

The next event is the Prince of Valentine’s Day, and it runs from now until February 26. Cassandra wants your help to bring the joy of Valentine’s Day to a couple of way too serious people.

Nineheart and Manji have their own weaknesses, so collect 20 Paper Wrappings and 20 Heart Wrappings from monsters around your level. After, you can choose whether you want to make 99% Cocoa Chocolate for Nineheart or Love Heart Revolution for Manji.

Talk to Cassandra again and she’ll send you to this map to give your Valentine’s Day gift to the guy of your choice. Or… if you’re one of those people who would rather call it Singles Awareness Day, there’s a third option! Talk to the Messenger of Love statue and you can keep the present for yourself.

You can complete the above quest once per day, and you’ll get prizes based on how many times you do it.

Season 3 of the M.I.B. Attendance Check has begun and will run until March 11. Each day, you must kill 200 monsters around your level for prizes!

Season 3 of the Burning Project has begun and will run until March 4. You can see the details of it in my earlier post but basically, you can choose one character as a Burning Character, and up until level 100, you’ll get 2 bonus level ups per level up as well as some other bonuses.

The M.I.B. Coin Shop has been extended to March 12, and some new items have been added, such as the Saekdong Damage Skin, a couple new chars, and some new ridings.

Here’s what some of the new items look like.

The next event is called Yum Yum Rice Cake Soup, and it runs until February 25.

Find Tang Yoon in any large town to start the quest, he’ll ask you to collect some ingredients from monsters around your level for him.

Every time you complete the quest, you’ll get a Yummy Rice Cake Soup which gives some experience, and an M.I.B. Coin. For your 5th, 10th, and 15th completion, you’ll get an Ultimate Yummy Rice Cake Soup which gives more experience.

You can complete the quest up to 15 times per day.

If you complete the quest 15 times, you’ll also get Tang Yoon’s New Gift Box, which you can open for a special item!

In addition, when you complete the quest 30 times in total, you’ll get the Rice Cake Soup Taster medal which gives 3 all stats and 3 attack/magic attack. If you complete it 150 times, you’ll get the Yummy Rice Cake Soup Food Fighter medal which gives 10 all stats and 10 attack/magic attack.

The stats on both medals expire in 30 days.

Finally, the Honey? Honey! event returns! It will begin on February 26 and will run until March 11.

Just like last time, everyone will receive their own Butterfly mount! You can then collect honey from monsters around your level to use to customize it!

There are 12 different types of butterflies, and you can either complete the entire set or mix and match for your own combination.

In addition, each customization (or hug) that you give to your butterfly will fill up the Heart Gauge at the top.

Once you fill it up, you can get a special prize once per day: a title with some pretty good stats (the final one gives 10 all stats and 7 attack/magic attack). They all expire though.

In the Cash Shop, the Choice Hair Coupon has been updated with new hairstyles.

The Choice Face Coupon has also been updated.

The Pandora’s Box was updated with new items, such as the level 145 weapons, the new Boss souls added in last patch, and Rebecca’s accessories.

The Epi’s Box has also been updated with new ridings, new chairs, and Rebecca’s accessory scrolls.
