Hey guys! Nexon finally revealed what’s coming to MapleStory next, it’s an update for this Spring called MapleStory Creation 12! I know it sounds sort of weird but the Korean name’s translation is not a single word, so I just chose something I thought was appropriate.

This update will take place over 4 parts (the first was released yesterday), and will encompass MapleStory’s 12th anniversary (hence the name).

First of all, happy new year! We hope that you had a good year and that 2015 will continue to be great.

This year marks MapleStory’s 12th anniversary. Many users have been playing MapleStory for many years, and to show our appreciation, we are preparing a special 12th anniversary extravaganza. MapleStory’s 12th Anniversary special is called Creation 12. From the end of February until April, we will be constantly updating the game.

Every 1-3 weeks, we’ll be adding new events, content updates, and existing system improvements/reorganizations until the final date, our 12th anniversary, April 23.

Of course, during the 12th anniversary, we’re preparing another major update. It might be a surprise to celebrate this year.

We’ll continue to notify you of any updates and details. Please look forward to it.

We hope MapleStory will become even more exciting and we are always listening to users’ needs and concerns.

They released a Developers’ Notes about this update, I wonder what the ‘major update’ is going to be? Hopefully it’s not disappointing.

The update’s name is sort of weird but the patch names are even weirder. They’re each one ‘letter’ of the 3 letter word, and since the update means like the creation of a story, I’m just gonna use ‘introduction’, ‘development’ and ‘conclusion’ as the names.

The first patch, the Introduction, was released yesterday. It didn’t add any actual content though, only the Star Star Festival, Honey? Honey! event, and the Lady Blair’s Dream Express event (which lets you transfer your Cash items to other characters for 5 days, starting on March 2).

Haha they described Orca as the ‘tsundere commander’ and Francis as ‘wishing for Orca’.

The second patch, which I think will be released on March 12, is called Development! Wait a second… is that Damian singing?

The third patch is called Conclusion.

This spring update’s big picture has not been revealed yet. Coverage in more detail will be released soon!

The 12th Star Star Festival has begun and will run until March 16! For those of you who don’t know, the Star Star Festival is an event that is frequently held in KMS. You must stay logged in for 10 minutes to get a stamp, up to 5 per day (compounding, so if you miss some days you can catch up).

The stamps can then be traded on the MapleStory homepage for both in-game and in-real-life prizes! I won’t be listing the real life ones here, but you can check them out yourself, they include some store gift certificates, Samsung Galaxy products, and LG laptops.

Each item costs a certain number of stamps, has a certain quantity available (its first come, first serve, so you have to be fast) and they each open at different times on different days.

The items that say [1 per character] are given to everyone once you reach that amount of stamps, you don’t have to spend any stamps to get them.

I think this is the first time Nexon will be doing this, but they’re doing a character clean-up! On March 12, all characters level 30 and under who have not logged in since March 1, 2014 AND have no Cash items on them will be put into deletion standby.

On April 9, any characters which were not removed from deletion standby will be deleted. Deleted characters cannot be recovered.

In addition, this patch added functionality for better memory management when using a 64-bit operating system.

The Absolabs Weapon Box obviously gives you one of the level 160 Absolabs weapons at random.

The Star Star Box can give you potions, All Cures, personality trait potions, or if you’re lucky, the Passion Badge.

The Magnificent Soul Box gives one of 11 Magnificent boss souls!

Finally, the Honey? Honey! event returns! It will run until March 11.

Just like last time, everyone will receive their own Butterfly mount! You can then collect honey from monsters around your level to use to customize it!

There are 12 different types of butterflies, and you can either complete the entire set or mix and match for your own combination.

In addition, each customization (or hug) that you give to your butterfly will fill up the Heart Gauge at the top.

Once you fill it up completely, you can get a special prize once per day: a title with some pretty good stats (the final one gives 10 all stats and 7 attack/magic attack). They all expire though.

The new Tangerine pet has also been released. An interesting choice to say the least… three tangerines are one pet by the way.
