Hello, Maple users.
It’s been a long time since we have spoken through the Developers’ Note. Our development team has been working hard to celebrate 12 years of MapleStory with our 12th anniversary update and Star Planet Mobile. Now we’ll be talking about what users can look forward to in MapleStory.
Today, after our 12th anniversary, I would like to talk about our update’s overall development plan. We want to talk about what we’re aiming to add this summer and our current progress on development.
The first part of our plan is character balancing which a lot of users have been interested in.
Last year, during some job reorganizations, we balanced a number of jobs and for this summer, we are working on more.
- Within our 35 jobs, we are aiming to reduce their disparities while still keeping their individualized traits.
- Unlike previous character balancing, we will be working mainly on changing around combat skills so that each job has specific characteristics.
- Balancing affects many factors but among them, damage is something which is very important to a lot of users. We will be adding a system that allows users to measure a character’s damage output.
The second part is changes to equipment.
Since Star Force was introduced, the demand for mesos has undoubtedly increased. So our development team has worked on adjustments to the cost of enhancing and has a few other changes planned.
The third part is level growth experience.
Since we increased the level cap, we have noticed it requires a lot of experience to level up at higher levels. Of course boss battles and aiming to upgrade your equipment are factors that can keep it fun but levelling by itself is not. Therefore, we are preparing some improvements to levelling through system changes.
Users might not understand the reasons of some of the above information and our team knows that it is a sensitive subject. In response, our biggest goal is to have more people play MapleStory which will allow the game to stay healthy and be enjoyed for a longer period of time.
The above contents will be available in the Test World as soon as possible since the opinions of users are very important to us. We will be taking all feedback for these changes until they are suitable for everyone.
And finally, this summer update, we plan to add a new job. It has been a long time since our last job and we are designing a new concept with a new playstyle, and enhanced graphics. We will share more information about this part soon.
I hope you have a nice day.
