MapleStory 2 Media Showcase!
The MapleStory 2 Media Showcase has concluded, and with it, we know the following information: MapleStory 2’s official release is on July 7 at 7PM!! After waiting so long for the game, everyone will be able to play full game (as long as you have a Nexon Korea account haha).
Please note that this is not a global release, it is for Korea only. There was also a bit more information they talked about which I’ll tell you guys about.
The director of MapleStory 2, Kim Jin Man, talked to the host of the event for a bit. They talked about how the game is largely focused on having fun with others. Another big point was that the MapleStory 2 team is putting a lot of emphasis on the users’ point of view so they can make the best game possible!
Then they talked about the content which was available in previous testing phases, including the level 30 cap, the boss Devorak, the party quest Poison Cave, Shadow World, guild battles, and the customizing system.
And then, finally, the moment everyone was waiting for! It is confirmed that the full game will be released, it is not an open beta.
Starting today at 12PM KST, users will be able to download the game in advance. On May 31 at 7PM, character creation will be opened so that users can have their characters ready for the full release.
On July 7 at 7PM, the game will be opened! 7/7 at 7PM haha, lucky isn’t it?
Following the game’s opening, in July the first large update will be released, increasing the level cap to level 40!
Then, in August, the level cap will be increased once more, to level 50!
So, to summarize;
- May 29 at 12PM: Client download available
- May 31 at 7PM: Character creation opens
- July 7 at 7PM: Official service opens
Near the end, they mentioned an event which will take place in Korea, called the MapleStory 2 Launching Festival!
People who attend will be able to watch a new cinematic trailer, see information about future updates, talk to the development team, and even have a chance to win a MapleStory 2 computer!
