MapleStory: Heroes of Maple – New Resistance Job, Blaster!
As I mentioned in my last post (although you may not have seen it since I edited it in a little later), in an interview with the new director of MapleStory, it was confirmed that this December we will be receiving a new warrior Resistance class! And today, these pictures were released with the following description:

The new Blaster class will be released to the official servers on December 22, so it might be added to Tespia soon.

All of the resistance jobs are bizarre exceptions to the rules of maple classes. That’s kind of the Resistance’s whole gimmick. The mage uses melee, the archer has mobility, the pirate is slow and heavily, and Xenon/Demon both have their own weird mechanics (although they’re only loosely related with the resistance). A warrior who punches fits right in with them.

Good point. Also the fact that it doesn’t use a conventional melee weapon for fighting is quite fitting, since the resistances are sort of all about concealing themselves. All of them get toggles in their first job.

I know it looks like a punching class, but the weapon that Blaster uses is called a Pile Bunker. It’s a weapon more or less invented by giant robot anime. I believe the reason it’s not a Brawler is because all the attacks are channel through the bunker, rather than using the bunker in conjunction with normal fists. Plus, this seems to be an explorer type resistance member, like Mech, Wild Archer, and Battle Mage. Mech is already the pirate so they need to fill the a different role. Xenon and Demon are technically resistance, but they’re not one of the 5 “main” resistance. Also, Resistance still hasn’t gotten their Thief class. It can’t be Xenon because Claudine uses a dagger and whip and he’s a “special” class. Like Mihile, Demon, DB, Cannoneer, etc.

I like his look more. A female version of him would be awesome. He looks edgy and stylish, she almost looks more like a mage which is a big yawn. Why no gritty female?? Why always so kawaii?
Agreed. The maplestory art always follows the same design, and this is the first time I see a unique look, albeit only on the male. It being on the female art would’ve been cool

Techinally Resistance set came first so, then again it was widely received that Demon was the warrior part, then avenger came out and they became like their own special set

Man loving the male artwork, no homo! That’s what i like about the resistance, gritty, liking to get into some action and with a twist! Looking forward to see how they’ll differentiate him from regular maple pirate brawlers who are already numerous!

Really though i’m excited. More than the new class, i’m happy to know the new patch comes on the 22 and not the 24 like I initially though.
Weird for them to leave a 2 day gap between major events like that though, they usually never do that. Whatever! NEW CLASS WOOOOO

I’m a warrior and even if I love (most of) them, it’s really lame we always get only warrior jobs. This one however looks amazing, hopefully it’s a stronger and more balanced version than the back then unique-but-weak buccaneer which according to nexon had to be changed into lazors (to still remain weak).

Why do they need a Resistance warrior? I thought Edelstein was freed Post-Black Heaven?

after seeing some skill videos of this class…I oddly start to think of Yang from RWBY….The whole gun punching thing….Just looks sooooo much like a pirate class but I can deal with that…The Pinkbean class was a warrior and felt like….idk.
Demon slayer to me feels more mage like and Beast Tamer feels like a warrior class so this would not be too out of place now that I think about it….I need to watch more RWBY
While the male version is way cooler, the female one fits maple’s cute appearance.
People say is warrior then is warrior …why u all want to act smart…so like pirates? go become gm and create your own game…create your own pirates then…accept the truth ..its is warrior…

If someone completely burns my food at a restaurant, it doesn’t take an expert to know they fucked up, nor does this mean I should start my own restaurant for wanting to complain.
We’re saying it should be pirate because traditionally only pirate class fights with fisted melee, unlike warriors that traditionally use weapons and blades. It would make more sense for the job to belong to pirates, although I’m still disappointed that no resistance thief was ever made yet.
I like the female design more. Less…hulky.
