NOTE: A lot of this information in this section is repeated from my last post. I did this because the new ranks/rewards/unlocked skills/etc are an addition to the existing stuff so it makes it clearer this way. I highlighted the specifically new information in green if you just want to see it.

Alliance Rank

The Alliance rank has a total of 13 ranks: Warrior, Guardian I~IV, Hero I~IV, and Legend I~IV.

The Alliance Rank: Legend has been now been unlocked

You can speak to Nineheart at the Outpost to increase your Alliance rank by giving him Alliance Medals. As your rank increases, you’ll be able to access new Alliance skills and Alliance Supply Shop items.

  • Warrior → Guardian I: 300 Alliance Medals
  • Guardian I → Guardian II: 150 Alliance Medals
  • Guardian II → Guardian III: 150 Alliance Medals
  • Guardian III → Guardian IV: 600 Alliance Medals

All of these systems (Alliance rank/skills/supply shop) will only be available until the Black Mage is defeated.

Alliance Skills

Alliance Skills are skills that increase your characters’ stats and help in your adventures. The Legend tab’s skills have now been unlocked.

The Alliance skills are separated into [Content Skills], [Ability Skills], and [Goddess Statue Skills]. Based on the type of skill, the methods of acquiring them and levelling them up are different.

  • Content Skills: when your Alliance rank is increased, you will automatically unlock these skills, which you can then level up using skill points given based on your rank.
  • Ability Skills: when your Alliance rank is increased, you can talk to Grendel to automatically learn and level up these skills.
  • Goddess Statue Skills: when the Journey of Destiny progresses past a certain stage and each Goddess Statue is completed, you can talk to Grendel to automatically learn these skills.

Based on your current Alliance rank, you can talk to Grendel at the Outpost to acquire skill points and Ability skills. Certain Content Skills will require previous skills to reach a certain level. You can see these required relationships in the Alliance Skill UI.

  • You can only enter 5 times per day.
  • If you have already collected your daily limit of Desire, the portal will no longer appear.

Limen

NOTE: You can no longer enter Labyrinth of Suffering. The Expedition Mission: Labyrinth of Suffering can no longer be completed.

Tenebris’ 3rd area, Limen, has been added. You can access it through the portal in the Maple Alliance Outpost. It is only available for users that are level 200 or higher and have completed the 5th job advancement.

Based on the world’s progress of the Journey of Destiny, Tenebris’ story will proceed gradually. As you can see above, the area’s maps will be revealed over time, so you’ll have to work together and collect enough Desire to unlock everything. However, you cannot enter regions from previous stages.

In the Tenebris area’s mapsup to 10 characters can enter the same instance of a map. The monsters will be individually assigned, so you will only be able to see and hunt your own monsters. However, Elite Bosses will appear for all characters, but will not summon any Elite Monsters and the Bonus Stage will not apply. Elite Monsters and Elite Bosses that appear in the Tenebris area will have stats proportional to the map’s monsters’ stats, based on the average level of the characters in the map.

In the Tenebris area’s maps, you cannot create parties, but all party buff skills will be automatically shared with other characters.

In the Tenebris area’s maps, unlike regular maps, there will be no Runes, flowers/veins, or Burning Fields and no items will be dropped. However, you will be able to gain a lot of additional experience from various exclusive gimmicks.

In the Tenebris area’s maps, you will have a 1 hour time limit and after that time is up, you will no longer gain any experience from monsters. The time limit will reset every day at midnight.

Limen Missions

The Expedition Mission: Limen has been added.

  • Help the Tenebris expedition to escape dangerous situations inside Limen.
  • When you begin the quest, you’ll also receive 3 random missions.
  • The Limen expedition and the 3 additional missions can be completed once per day. The limit will reset every day at midnight.
  • When you complete an additional mission, you’ll receive 10,000 Desire.
  • If you complete all 3 additional missions, you’ll complete the Limen expedition and receive the Alliance’s Loot. This will give 6m mesos, 2 Core Gemstones, and 1 Rare Reward Box.
  • The dangerous situations can vary based on the Journey of Destiny. If they change, you can talk to Helena to replace the missions with new ones.

  • Cannon Support
    • At the End of the World area, after the Giant has used its light of destruction, you can charge up the cannons on the sides of each map using Erda collected from monsters. You must charge up the cannons 30 times to complete this mission.
  • Light of Destruction
    • At the End of the World area, the Giant will use its light of destruction occasionally. It will one shot you unless you have collected enough Erda from killing monsters. You must survive this attack 3 times to complete this mission.
  • Light of Punishment
    • At the End of the World area, the Giant will use its light of punishment frequently. It will deal a lot of damage unless you have collected enough Erda from killing monsters. You must be in the map when this attack happens 60 times to complete this mission.

Phase 4

Always knew grendel was a sneaky bastard /s

    • Anonymous
      August 9, 2018 at 10:07 am

I don’t think Grendel is evil, he’s holding a transcendent stone i think which is similar to what damien stole from the museum in heroes act. According to luminous flashback, it is an object of primordial power allowing the wielder to control, interfere and perhaps destroy a transcendent’s power. So, maybe it hints to the end of black mage at the hands of grendel?

Maybe Grendel is the mercenary :O

        August 9, 2018 at 11:00 pm

It has been long hinted at that Grendel the really old has had knowledge of Dark magic- going back to pre-big bang, up to modern Luminous’ story. In pre-big bang there was a series of quests that revealed that He was responsible for the Lupins/Zombie Lupins/Faust(the leader) due to a dark magic experiment that went wrong, but apparently the creatures became naturalized one way or another(until Nexon ripped them out of the game)

Later, when Battle Mage was introduced, they added an quest(now gone) that explains that Brighton was actually a former student of Grendel, and that they had interesting discussions on controlled use of dark magic. This quest, also you gave you Sp (back when developers were experimenting with that.)
And of course the Luminous questline ties into Grendel’s knowledge of Dark arts as well- some people speculate that it’s a direct reference to the Lupin incident.

FAI, Grendel is not the ‘Transedent of Darkness,’ or whatever. He just knows all forms of magic- Dreams, Wind, Psychic, Fire, Poison, Earth, Ice, Lightning, Light, Darkness, and even hinted at knowledge of water and plant related magic. A funny thought- he might have the Transendent stone because that’s what he used in the Lupin incident- to create life.
It’s a stretch, but even if that isn’t the case, he definitely has the knowledge of it.

So training with the new non-daily desire thing, the light that kills enemies, it seems really REALLY slow compared to the fire bird and even the survivor rescuing. But I had, once, a time where it made the screen green with little desire droplets, and every enemy I killed gave me 10. But I can’t figure out how I caused it to happen. Do you know?

Hello. I was wondering how exactly the new miracle circulator works. It says it keeps the tank of the inner ability but can the ranks of individual lines change? For example, go from 9% buff duration to 38%?

    • Max
      August 9, 2018 at 11:46 am

Not sure about the specifics. In the example picture they had, it went from 16% boss damage/5% chance to skip cooldowns/7% buff duration to 19%/6%/10%.

    • Anonymous
      August 9, 2018 at 3:37 pm

Since it keeps the ranks, I doubt the number values would go beyond what is allowed in the current rank. For your example, 9% buff duration is a rare level, while 38% is a unique level. So if you use the chaos circulator when your buff duration is at 38% already, it would reset to any unique level values (which I believe is 34%~40%).

You can also only use it for unique and legendary abilities only according to the image.

I love that stellar set, Having space balls appear as you walk is cool and that beach set is nice too.

Hi Max, thanks for your up-to-date information about KMS and KMST. I really appreciate your hardworking.
By the way, may I translate your blogs into Chinese and post them on Baidu Tieba( a famous fourm in China)? I promise I would note your name.

Hey max, will you write a post explaining what happened with the black mage after you defeat him? all the videos about it left me confused.

You can use Mileage to buy anything in the Cash Shop (other than cubes/scissors/beauty items/packages), so just go to the pet section and buy your favourite 🙂
