KMS ver. 1.2.388 – MapleStory Dreamer: High Mountain!

The third and final patch of the MapleStory Dreamer update has been released, featuring the new Epic Dungeon: High Mountain and the new Maple Coin system.
Low-key, this was a big dry spell of content for a winter update (not including the extreme meso changes) and now we’re going into the off-season so we’ll see if they’re actually working on anything cool… Although I do think High Mountain’s story was pretty good!

Here’s a quick guide!
As mentioned before, there are a total of 10 stages. It goes in a cycle of 2 normal stages (defeat all the monsters) then a miniboss stage, and repeat. The 10th stage is the final boss, Tynus. You must complete the stages in order, but you can leave and re-enter in-between so you don’t have to do it all at once.
Here’s a picture from Stage 1. At the top, you’ll see the timer and progress bar. You must defeat enough monsters to fill up the progress bar to progress to the next stage. At the bottom, you’ll see the Mitra UI. As you defeat monsters, you’ll collect Authority, which fills up the bar (up to 1000).
You can press the Tab button to transform back and forth into Mitra at any time and use his skills. However, each skill will consume a certain amount of Authority. Mitra’s attacks instantly execute all normal monsters that they hit.
You can remap these skills to shortcuts of your choice.
Double Jump: Jump once more while in the air to move a certain distance. You can use this skill with the up arrow key to jump upwards.
- Level 1: Jump a certain distance.
Solar Flash: Rush as quick as a flash of light.
- Level 1: Consumes 50 Authority. Rush in the inputted direction, damaging enemies in your path. Normal monsters will be instantly executed.
Cooldown: 0.3 seconds.
- Level 1: Consumes 50 Authority. Rush in the inputted direction, damaging enemies in your path. Normal monsters will be instantly executed.
Solar Blade: Materialize the energy of the scorching sun and fire it.
- Level 1: Consumes 150 Authority. Fire a sword slash in the inputted direction, damaging enemies hit. Normal monsters will be instantly executed.
Cooldown: 1 second.
- Level 1: Consumes 150 Authority. Fire a sword slash in the inputted direction, damaging enemies hit. Normal monsters will be instantly executed.
Solar Flare: Explode the heat of the boiling sun to turn nearby enemies to ash.
- Level 1: Consumes 200 Authority. Damage nearby enemies. Normal monsters will be instantly executed.
Cooldown: 1 second.
- Level 1: Consumes 200 Authority. Damage nearby enemies. Normal monsters will be instantly executed.

Authority Liberation: Liberate the power of the mighty God of the Sun for a certain period of time. When Mitra’s other skills hit an enemy, the Sun’s Energy ignites and burns nearby enemies.
- Level 1: Consumes 1000 Authority. For 20 seconds, Mitra’s other skills will not consume Authority, and when they hit an enemy, the Sun’s Energy will be unleashed to attack nearby enemies. You will not acquire Authority from monsters defeated during this skill. If you cancel the transformation, the duration will end.
Cooldown: 60 seconds.

It’s important to take note of Mitra’s different attacks as at certain times, special gimmick monsters will spawn on the map (shown in blue on the minimap). They have much higher HP than the regular monsters and will appear in a certain formation/pattern. It becomes a sort of puzzle to get into the right position and use the right Mitra skill to instantly execute them all. As the stages go on, their placement and movement will become more advanced, requiring more precise skill usage.

Here’s Stage 3, where you have to fight one of the minibosses. You have a total of 10 death count but you can’t use any potions. Instead, periodically, a Mark of the Sun will spawn that you can mash NPC Chat on to activate, healing you and giving you some Authority.
Each miniboss has various attacks and map layouts, but the main thing they share is the Separation pattern, where the boss disappears and splits into multiple small flying mobs. This is when you should change into Mitra and use his skills to quickly defeat all of them.

In Stage 10, you fight the final boss, Disaster God Tynus. It has a few attacks like big lasers and lightning bolts that you must dodge.

Similar to the minibosses, it has a Separation pattern but on a much bigger scale called Slaughter. If you succeed at defeating all the mobs it summons, a golden shield will spawn in the middle of the map that you must press NPC Chat on to activate Mitra Flare, that deals 20% of the boss’ HP but if you don’t do it in time, you’ll lose a Death Count (regardless of Door).
Every third Separation pattern, called Hell, will be even harder with more mobs around the map. If you fail this one, you’ll lose 3 Death Counts. The best way to deal with this is to save 1000 Authority to activate Authority Liberation and have unlimited Mitra skills during that time.
Overall, if you’re really strong, you can probably end up ignoring Mitra most of the time and just use your own skills. But for less powerful characters, Mitra becomes a very useful tool and sets a sort of baseline clear time, since the bosses’ Separation patterns deal a fixed % of their HP if you can succeed at them, which Mitra allows you to easily do.
After you clear Stage 10 (the boss fight against Tynus), you will receive your base rewards of experience (based on your level), 1 Sol Erda, and 2 Maple Gold Coins. In Reboot World, you will also receive 30 Sol Erda Fragments.
Then, in Regular Worlds only, you can choose to pay Maple Points to receive bonus rewards. You can pay 7,500 Maple Points to triple the rewards (3x experience, 3 Sol Erda, 6 Maple Gold Coins) or pay 15,000 Maple Popints to quintuple the rewards (5x experience, 5 Sol Erda, 10 Maple Gold Coins).
Here’s a quick video of stages 8~10 (just wanted to show off a monster stage, miniboss, and the final boss). I could’ve nuked the bosses and finished faster but I wanted to show off some of the mechanics first!

The Maple coins exchange rate between how much mesos they give compared to how much maple points they cost make buying maple points infeasible with the mesos shop, since it results in a net loss seeing how the exchange rate (at least in Bera server) is unfavorable.
This means it’s only worth using th Maple coins if you are buying the maple points with NX cash.
That’s the whole purposes of it from Nexon isn’t it? P2W
The whole purpose is to sink the maple point with cubes now out of sales . They still need to make the game financially feasible without cubes sales. Making games are costly , you think they are doing charity ?
Oh and the rates would surely be different for different region . Get it?
Yeah I guess they need to scam thsir customers in a different way this time.
It doesn’t really work in other versions but these prices are set pretty good for KMS (e.g. in Luna right now you can get like 3.2k Maple Points for 100m which pays for 10 Maple Gold Coins which is ~370m)!
Hey Max, would you be able to post about the new class Lynn and pull the skill effects, I know its not KMS, but it really helps to see the stats and the individual effects the way you have been doing them
stay tuned
Goated
When it says “When specific key input patterns are repeated, skill activation and portal usage will now be restricted.” do we know what specifically this was targeting?
