March Update Preview!
The MapleStory homepage has been updated with new information, including a preview for the upcoming patch on March 21! It seems they are temporarily pausing the Cygnus Knights reorganization. However, it should include something for everyone, so read on!
An all new Monster Carnival! Finally, Monster Carnival will return! There will no longer be a waiting system, it will be fast and fun. I’m excited, I still remember those days when this was THE place to level up from 30 to 50, haha.
A new Monster Park addition! The fastest place to level, come visit Monster Park! Enjoy the new and diverse monsters. Sheesh, Monster Park gets changed every other patch it seems.
The long awaited world merge! The second recent merge will combine Bellocan, Demethos, El Nido, Kalluna, and Hacerlo, into one world, Union!
Next is the 2013 Job Balancing Season 1! This will be the beginning of changes to everyone, who will be first? Find out on March 21! Hopefully this means Adventurers will be receiving the updates they deserve! All the new classes are so much better… crossing my fingers for some great Bowmaster changes.
There will be a party quest reorganization, where no levels will be neglected. Party play will become great for everyone!
Exciting March events will include buffs, experience, party quest events, as well as Black Day, attendance checks, and April Fool’s Day! Enjoy new events every day!
Another addition will be widescreen support! MapleStory will now have a 1366×768 resolution!
Finally, a Maple user survey will be revealed on Monday, everyone is encouraged to participate!

and phantoms deserve the nerf, only classes that should be buffed are the adventurers, the game is inbalanced as it is, whats the point in buffing everyone? That just means the difference in inbalance just doesnt change, buff the classes that NEED it – DK, BM, NL and leave the classes that dont.. The Heroes, The Novas
You forgot captain/corsair because that class my dear sir is as worst at NL if the player is unfunded. It have the most pretty cool skill among all the explorer but the damage are totally CRAP and due to its randomness(dice, summon etc) captain/corsair damage are not stable and VERY random.
Stop raging lmao. Job balancing =/= Buffs for every single class. It just means what it means. To balance the seemingly “overpowered” classes and buffing up the neglected classes. Or so i think.
If you think that adventurers are the only ones needing a buff, you’re insane. The only Nova/Hero who’s currently rediculously overpowered is Kaiser, Angelic Busters got nerfed hard in KMS, and are already worse than that in GMS, and were shafted HARD by the damage cap raise. Remember tha AB skill that had a cap 100x higher than everyone else’s? Well, now that only has a cap 2x as high, is significantly slower, and hits like once (not like the last two weren’t already true, but they didn’t matter when the skill could hit 100x harder) Luminous just sucks at bossing in GMS. Who cares if someone’s an obscenely OP mobber if they are terrible at bossing? Phantom just plain sucks in both GMS AND KMS, Mercedes got shafted in Unlimited, since hit speed hardly matters, and in Archer hypers, where bowmaster’s hurricane could hit as fast as ring of ishtar and even a bit harder. Evans are the slowest mage 1v1 post hypers even though BaMs, the fastest mage, and F/Ps, not as fast but still faster than Evans, have 13,000%/s post hypers, while Evan sits at a significantly lower 10,000-11,000%/s. Aran’s require a certain level of control to be good with them, yet they aren’t very much better than some other classes that require ZERO.
If phantom deserve the nerf then all the classes stronger than it deserve one to. So when are bowmen getting a nerf?

U guys are rubbish! Obviously is kaisers need the buff! We need to deal 3000% with gigaslash 20 times a second and get shadow partner , a new buff skill that gives 45% critical , attack and defence ignore , and also a summon like Phoenix who attacks 10 times a second who dispels , weaken and stuns all mobs ( boss included )

Revamps are important and needed to keep the game interesting and fun; as well as updating older classes to catch up with the new. Otherwise… why else should people even play the older class at all right?

Not really likely it is going to be a nerf. Nexon can just make all the old jobs be able to stand on the same grounds as Xenon. There is no point in making a revamp and then nerfing a job. It requires more work and thought to make it balance.

Dude, seriously? I have a xenon at lvl 119 in kms. I have absolutely no funds. ABSOLUTELY NONE. My xenon ‘s range is 23-26 k
I’m not sure about you, but that seems hella op to me. I have other classes such as ice lightning and bishop well past lvl 130. And their ranges are just tipping the 12k threshold.

I did the GMS Nexon’s surveyed and the things I selected were:
– Updates/revamps for older classes (Adventurers)
– Balance
– In-accessibility to training areas due to high traffic.
These are the top three reason why I don’t play MS anymore.
Hopefully the revamp will come soon to veteran MS players. Balance take time and a lot of thought needs to be considered. So on that part, I’m willing to wait.
But one of my primary gripes about MS of all thing is, the in-accessibility of training at GOOD maps. I haven’t trained in almost 3 years because during 2x, I could never get the maps I want with my friends unless I get off of work and camp the map 2-4 hours before the event. And even if I am not working, having to camp a map for that long is ridiculous. And even that does not guarantee a map to train on considering people will just KS you for it once 2x start. It kills my gaming experience and have stopped my progression of wanting to play MS.
Hopefully Nexon will stride to improve all of these features in the upcoming year.
I just believe GMS should just make Mini-dungeons in the popular training spots. There is no point in some stupid Mini-dungeons like Drakes. The map outside Drake’s Mini-dungeon has more mobs and the map is set up much better.
Mini dungeon is the solution for ks gms need to look for where we players train the most and put there a new map a mini dungeon it will make 2x so much better and u will have way more fun in the game

We don’t need a rebalancing season, we need a reimagining season where the old classes are boosted into the same tier as some of these new classes, especially considering the hell Unlimited seems to have unleashed.

Those are the ones that will most likely will be revamp BUT I rather wait to get the update last because when they start re-balancing everything seems good until the other much much better upgrades come for the stronger classes.Then again I could be wrong and they maybe do something good! That’s one group. I for one, and I think even Orange, sticks primarily to one job and only plays other classes because Nexon forces us via Link Skill incentives. As soon as I get my link skill, I go right back to my BM. If anything, it is the fact that it is so difficult to share CS and multiple items that require scissors that keep me from investing in a new char.

get over it. old maple was garbage. never have I seen any game mocked so heavily as pre-BB maplestory. the old community ain’t coming back, no matter how you try to kill the game, so just move on.

The classes that must need a revamp are Bowmans, Pirates, Thief, Warriors, Mercedes, Phantom and Evan. The only adventurers that dont really need a revamp are the Heroes and the Marksman, the rest is just awful. The resistance need a revamp too, Mechs, BaM and WH are weak too. They just need to add all clases a link skill for incentives to make adventurers and other classes, no just New classes.

GMS Lumi needs to have its light dark system reversed back to the kms one, or they need to make equilibrium skills better or last longer. GMS: Nerfed Ab shouldn’t be nerfed anymore KMS: AB isnt even that strong after the nerf. How come Aran isn’t in there. Battle mage is like an aran with speed steroids.
Really? Just really? Just because a class is 10x stronger than everyone else and it is reduced to 8x stronger than everyone else doesn’t mean it needs to be buffed. It means everyone else needs to be 8x stronger. That is what balancing means. So, yes even though all the classes that were over-powered were nerfed they are still far more powerful than any adventurer. Hence, they do not need to be buffed in order to retain their superiority which would be the opposite of balancing. Also I find it interesting that people name NL, DrK, and BM as the classes that need balancing the most. Last I checked those were the last of their class branches to get buffed in the first place. Shad needs it more than NL, and Pally and Hero needs it more than DrK, and MM needs it more than BM in my opinion. Though, instead of opposing each other why not just ask for everyone to be balanced out properly; like MMs having a mobbing skill that is actually current with the times (single-plane attack requiring a 3 second charge and disconnects you when buffed with combat orders doesn’t cut it) or Buccs getting some better maneuverability? Keep in mind that balancing isn’t always about the damage formula.

Phantoms can effectively replace Bishops as a support class and deal far better damage while doing it. Archers have horrible defense, have less pixel attack range than more than half the classes, have horrible HP, horrible mobbing (Stop saying MMs have good mobbing darn it until you play one for yourself!.I do okay damage with about 10x the funding and 5x the range of anyone doing twice my damage!) and now sub-par bossing skills. Where is the balance in that? You wanting there to be separations can only be met if those strong classes didn’t have everything those weak classes had but no, Nexon has apparently made “do it all classes”.

Who here thinks the revamps may give adventurers (the non time limited ones), Resistance (again, the non- time limited ones) Dual Blades, Arans, and Evans each a link skill? Ofc, the resistance link would stack up to 3 times, and the adventurer ones would stack up to either 5 or 12 times (ofc if it stacked 5 times, it would most likely only stack between a maximum of 1 each of warrior, mage, archer, thief, and pirate, but if it stacked 12 times, it would have to be between up to 1 each of Hero, Paladin, Dark Knight, F/P, I/L, Bishop, Bowmaster, Marksman, Shadower, Night Lord, Buccaneer, and Corsair, and would probs require you to get to second job before receiving it, just like Jett won’t have Core Aura until 2nd Job)

Why does MS NEED to break the damage limit and such, like it was final fantasy on 2D steroids?
Why don’t MS do the sensible thing: In the revamp, make it so that numbers are divided by about 100 on level 200, and less and less down to first job. And by numbers I mean: player damage and monster health.
If the damage numbers weren’t so insanely high, they could actually make a lot of abilities have one number/hit instead of four when the more logical number of hits is one. Of course, if people don’t see 999999 hits, they would maybe not want to play MS, but at least for me the reason I want to play MS is because I like the art/animation and the concept of a 2D MMO-grinder.
To me it doesn’t matter at all if my class has many hits or few, so long as all classes have a place in a party or at least function at roughly the same strength. But I find it rather ridiculous that the numbers are so high that they have to reduce the damage but increase the hits to balance the damage. Really, Quad Star dealing FIVE hits (with hyper skill of course)?! Come on, Nexon.

Sir, first of all, I don’t think EVERYONE is doing it, but the numbers are still so ridiculous that it’s a problem. And what I said is still true – they have to balance things around how much damage the classes are capable of doing (also when they’re funded). When one class can deal extreme amounts of damage compared to another class because the damage limit isn’t as big a problem, that is, in fact, a big problem. Also, an unfunded at barely half the level cap doesn’t need to hit for several 100k hits, or even for several hits over 20k for that matter. Damage shouldn’t just be big numbers, it should be feasible and sensible and the damage cap should actually never be an issue – but since MS is designed the way it is, this will never happen.
Don’t write off someone’s opinion just because you don’t think that it’s a problem. Which garners another question – do YOU think it’s a good thing that the damage limit has to be raised, that damage numbers are so ridiculous? Because that would be weird I.M.O.

something like that, so that phantom cant takeover bishop!!!

How about I make a phantom my main and verse your bishop. Let’s fight bosses solo and in party. I can promise you I will trump you. Phantoms can not only use resurrect they come with a free wheel of destiny as a skill. I have played bishops for years, as in years before big bang even. Bring up any question you would like about bishops and every change and I can name it to you. So before you want to talk about knowledge of bishops you might want to read a book.
