Inkwell’s Secret Diary – Addressing the RED Test Server Patch
A new entry has been added, although it’s more like a letter? It addresses the patch to the test server yesterday.
Dear Maple warriors,
Yesterday the prelude to the RED patch announced the Adventurer relaunch, with information about the reorganization of warriors and magicians released to the test server. Within minutes of its release, many users became worried but we would like to relieve your concerns with the current and future direction of this update.
First, about yesterday’s patch, we will listen to the user’s voices instead of simply implementing what we have planned. (You will be able to see the other jobs soon.) The MapleStory team always listens to users, and many of them have pointed out or criticized certain things which we will use to create a more finished look and a more fun MapleStory.
However, many users have been worried about the things added in the current test server patch. We would like to relieve you a little bit. The changes you have seen to warriors and magicians are simply tests. For better balancing, we will be collecting logs and data while analyzing statistics in order to get our final balancing. Therefore, the things you see in the current patch will be put through a process of continuous adjustment. Your voice will be used to update the test server again soon, and at that point, expect the truly powerful Adventurers to appear!
In terms of numbers, do not worry because feedback on functional components will be more appreciated. The new Adventurers might not look like the current ones in the future.

to me this is a terrible idea imagine when this comes to the other servers? will we get the same provisions? if not then this is only allowing for input from those of the korean community and those who either can speak korean or have korean accounts. so as for you to say progress this is more like favoritism and they are giving the koreans preference

for be honest , i like i/l just the way is it atm in GMS , only thing i would change about it , is more hits on CL , and a better hyper at 150 , couse our aura is kinda useless , 20% stance is a joke X_X (ya i know we can get mihile stance but still) , i would just add more hits to CL or something like that would be awesome , and i agree , our DoT is very usefull

I like the 20% damage ignore from Ice Aura, honestly. How’s this for a nice idea for Ice Aura. You know how Fire Aura damages things around you? How about ours slows things? I dunno. Might as well add 50% to the 20% stance there already.
I just wish Explorer Magicians could have better mobility… Teleport (Mastery) has practically no vertical range and low horizontal range. It should be more like Kanna’s at least…

Because most people looked for bugs to exploit when the patch went live, tested their hacks to have them ready faster, and the few that weren’t actually trying to break the game just went “lol i r 200 nao i solo ht kbye”. No one did any actual testing and reporting.
And hopefully KMS balances what they’re doing with what people want instead of just completely doing what the players want, because most of the players can’t even agree on what they want to begin with.

They cancelled the Battle mage revamp recently due to many of us hated it sooo nexon changed to listening to the players
Some one beg for a completely different shout and not just a different animation for heroes and make enrage toggle
agree. shout is totally useless. i think it should be replaced with a skill like arrow platter or lamancha spear (holding skill key) its just way too boring to have only 1 spamable skill which looks sux anyway.
Just remember, the GMS community has no say for the KMS development team, but the gms development team (cough cough translation team) will just implement it word for word.
not 100% accurate, just look at what they did to GMS kaiser, while the basic class is copied the few changes they did make had a huge impact.

I doubt they’ll allow phantom to take all the OP skills though. -flashback to revamped pirates and thieves after phantom came out- They’ll still put restriction on which skills they can get.
Op skills? nah they nerfed those skills and made things passive
not quite cuz phantom was never an adventurer he was his own thing; like merc, lumi, ds/da,evan,mihile,and aran
But Phantom swipes Adventurer skills, that’s how it affects Phantom a whole lot.

So basically from what I gather, this is another case of battle mages where people just threw a big enough temper tantrum and most of these changes will be undone. Shame, the game looked a lot funner with that patch…

Anyone think that the ‘revamp’ for heroes is similar to battle mages? They are not functionally changed, only visually changed. So Nexon, please:
1. Implement the new combo function+mastery, but keep the visual of existing combo orbs (it’s ok to change the colour to fiery red)
2. Keep the visual effect of panic, it’s great for what it is now
3. Use the coma visual for that combo force skill
4. Add animation for incising, valhalla and uprising for axes
5. Make enrage toggle (it’s ok to keep the 10 orb consumption when switching it ON)
6. Keep Combat Mastery at Lvl 10 so they take more advantage from CO
….that’s it

gonna have to agree with the other guy for number 5, it’s ok to take 10 orbs to use enrage, but it’s annoying as hell to have to right click enrage off all the time. No other class has to deal with that.
Yeah…at least allow heroes to switch off enrage with the skill hot key rather than right clicking (or make shout unaffected by enrage so it will have some use). Toggling enrage removes the time limit which makes it too easy.
Change =/= good. The new designs for Combo are horrible and generic; the runic design for Combo is good and makes plenty of sense.
Not if you’ve had to look at the same animations for 3+ years, people will take any change to look they can get, especially since you can’t speak for everyone in whether this change is good or not since whether asthetic changes are positive or negative is subjective. some people might not like either more than the other and just want it to look different after 3+years, and some people might actually like it BETTER

Hope they don’t follow too much of what the people say. some just judge because of the animations not the changes. and even the animations are nice. If it was for the people, they will never end the patch. like someone said before its good that they take feedback but they shouldn’t do everything the people want.
that sucks the drk animation was pretty badass so was the ice mage. it looked fun, i hate how ppl think everything is bad just because theyre new. they totally ruin the game for others.

it seems they’ve switched their moneymaking schemes from nx-draining updates to actually listening to the players and trying to make them happy. good, good progress.
Probably for the simple reason of alienating paying customers cuts into how much NX you can gouge out of them before they quit, happy customers are more likely to stay customers

are you joking, the wild hunter revamp made them the 5th highest on the dps chart, they are now the strongest class after kaiser, AB, and wind archer
I vote that they should enhance the quality of the skill animations since most of them are pitiful in comparison to the old ones. They all seems really….choppy.
I really hope they do something about I/L. I’m extremely disappointed in the changes they made for them. They KILLED glacial chain and NERFED chain lightning, which is our main attacking skill (what the hell?). They also took all our dot away and gave us crappy useless skills like the dragon ice breath (which sucks) and a frozen orb thats super inconvenient to use. Im okay with the new skill animations, just PLEASE PLEASE do something about our attacking skills because I think were worse than before.
Make Frozen Orb spammable… Instead of like Morning Star or Assistant Hunting Unit. Cast the spell, throws the sphere forward, shoots ice, disappears. Something. I don’t want to be a support class that no one wants.
The frozen orb looks like absolute crap in terms of usefulness and damage. I wonder what the hell they were thinking when they were revamping I/L. I really hope they give back our 6 hit CL and 6 hit glacial chian or at least a good attacking spammable ice skill thats not a crappy orb.
Have people like you even considered what it means when it’s said that “Adventurer mage damage formula has been changed”?
Considering mages weren’t too high in any type of chart, don’t you think the percent reductions are due to a higher damage output overall?

Otherwise I must say I was disappointed that the dragon head doesn’t actually do damage.. but shaving off defenses while being invincible(you could just use it as a dodge to boot) is pretty damn sweet in my opinion. Then again, I think about things.

I totally agree with you. I’m tired of people complaining about the updates… they know what they are doing. What if that dragon freezes monsters or what if not. sure chain lightning has less damage. 24 less to be exact.. do the math and you don’t know the new damage formula. are you also forget that we have elquines, the cloud and the ice ball will work well with bosses like zakum. spam the ball and keep using chain lightning… I hope koreans who give feedback aren’t afraid of change and want simple changes to be made.

On the side track: I think paladin is more holy now. just the defense need more ……change.
I prefer a char who can actually hit sh*t rather than one that has an stupid abussive defense but can’t hit properly.

There’s about 20 other classes in Maplestory for that. Paladins have always been, and should always be defensive titans. If you’re looking for offense, there are dozens of other viable choices. I will be very, very sad if Paladins don’t maintain their defensive prowess.
somehow I wouldn’t be suprised if this was a polite way of saying that the revamp is indefinately postponed due to whining. I mean seriously, what’s a company to think when their users complain for years about wanting such and such revamped, and then get a barrel of vitriol and bile for it when they do? corporations aren’t the most rational creatures, after all.
Blame the consumers. They’ve been whining for so long about wanting these damned revamps, yet when they do come they’re like, “THEY’RE CHANGING OUR PLAYSTYLE. WHY ARE YOU CHANGING OUR CHARACTERS.” Like, seriously? Make up your f-ing minds, you little babies.
I for one am satisfied with the changes they made. I never expected Paladins to get a resurrection skill. Although it does fit, considering they’re holy warriors after all.The rest of you who do nothing but complain can shut the hell up and just stop playing if you’re not satisfied. If you want a revamp, don’t complain when you get one.
I like the fact that each job’s specialty is much more defined now. It makes each character actually different, rather than just different pictures for the same attack.
Although I will give that they didn’t really help I/L mages.
Lol all they want is higher damage output, better mobility and survivability, and big flashy skills like AB/xenon lmao. They dont want synergy and change of gameplay, just an agile character that deals massive damage.
Honestly i really liked the changes being made though i still have questions on the mechanisms eg angel ray’s healing effect nullified when party members get zombiefy status?

Revamped Mages feel like pre-balance Evan in terms of attacking speed. They are too damn slow. Ain't noone going to be happy about that.
So.. I thought immediately that the damage formula for mages was changed.. could be the reason for lowering percentages, right? Do people have any proof that these damages are truly a nerf? Like an example that the new formula is similar or worse than the old one?
You know that all those bitches care about is hitting way more than they already hit with the same classic crap skills with some new animations. I Say yes to the revamps and so far I’ve Liked pretty much what they have done, I would have make a couple of things more interesting but thats just me and im just hoping DB’s gets really boosted when they get their turn.
I really hope you mean DBs skills animations get boosted.. because wtf do we need more OP DBs then we already have? The class is easy as hell, honestly the only change they need is a more of a push in the direction of how Hayato was made… but then again Hayato is just a more op version of DB so w/e, DBs are fine the way they are and have been changed countless times already, just update the skill animations MAYBE and call it a day for that overused Thief.

I don’t think thatll ever happen sadly. Looking at this revamp, they barely did anything to make adventurers equal or better than the newer classes which is extremely dissapointing.
Don’t forget, this is only the testing stage. They “may” make changes later.
No! There are like 50 reasons why that wouldn’t be fair!
1. From an avaliability standpoint, Adventurers are 12 of only 20 classes that are constantly creatable (Dark Knights, Heroes, Paladins, I/Ls, F/Ps, Bishops, Marksmen, Bowmasters, Shadower, Night Lords, Corsairs, and Buccaneers make up 12 classes, and the other8 are Dawn Warriors, Blaze Wizards, Wind Archers, Night Walkers, Thunder Breakers, Battle Mages, Wild Hunters, and Mechanics), limited edition/promotional content should not be inferior to the standard content, and it wouldn’t be fair if people had to wait JUST to make a specific class that is inferior to a class that can be made any time the person wants, its unfair that people would have to wait to make one of 13 classes that are ALL inferior to more than HALF of the classes that they could make any time.
2. From a plot Standpoint: Cygnus Knights serve the Empress of the Maple World, the Cygnus Returns update awakened the Empress’s full power, well have you SEEN her in the Dark Future? Fully Awakened, yet the Holy power of the Empress was tainted by darkness, and thusly was heavily weakened do to the corruption of the light energy by darkness, is still TERRIFYING! The Five Heroes are LEGENDARY for their feats of STRENGTH and heroics, and both Luminous and the Demon EACH went toe to toe with the Black Mage, on their OWN, the Black Mage’s power is even MORE terrifying than that of an awakened Empress according to lore. Kaiser’s predecessor went toe to toe with Magnus, who Luminous, despite being able to take on the Black Mage alone, couldn’t even SCRATCH, Angelic Buster has the power of a DEITY at her hands, Xenon was created to be the ultimate Weapon, while the Resistance and Adventurers are just ordinary citizens of the Maple World, it wouldn’t make sense for either of them to be strongest, the gap in power should not be so great, maybe like the class with the lowest dps is around 70% of the DPS of the one with the highest, but the Adventurers and Resistance should be on bottom, followed by the Cygnus Knights, then by the Five Heroes and Xenon, then By Luminous and the Demon, and then By Kaiser and AB

that is not correct (i mean about the plot) first cygnus isnt going to be like that in the future because the future of henesys is the dream of the black mage, second even if demon slayer went toe to toe with the black mage he failed very soon,third luminous didnt take on the black mage alone the black mage was already weakened by fighting freud demon slayer mercedes phantom (not sure if phantom because he escaped in some point) fourth of course magnus is strong (one of the strongest) but the black mage is much much stronger since he might be the final boss and last even Kaiser’s predecessor failed in Defeating magnus so why should kaiser be one of the strongest?

Well seems like uproar was big and strong enough. If they’re truly listening to comunity then i guess heroes are safe more or less, as are drk changes. It’s paladins that got shafted and want heads to roll for this. Let’s see how it turns out.
Also notice how the letter starts: “Dear maple story WARRIORS”. It’s 95% addressed to pallies and not other jobs if you ask me.
Agreed that paladins should be furious about this patch, as the new flame/blizzard charge is now useless, and the ugly blast effect. But if you look carefully at the skill changes, all 3 warriors should be in rage.
1. They replaced Combat Mastery, ACB and Beholder, which cap at lvl 10, into New Combat Mastery, Paladin Expert and Adv Weapon Mastery, which cap at lvl 30, while still having the same effect. This is a big nerf since they gain much less advantage from CO and the Skill Lvl +1 inner ability.
2. The skill animations are too biased towards one particular weapon. It simply pisses off minority axe heroes and BW paladin, and majority PA Drks,. They are even too lazy to draw the spear rush for berserkers, as well as new icons for panic, ACA and lord of darkness.
To be fair, this patch is not too bad, but the changes are rather radical to stimulate veteran adventurer players come back to Maple. Not to mention that Phantom players are really anxious but the change.
Paladin is gonna be so op. But yeah, these skills look a LOT cooler than the old ones. Yhh wanna play Bishop only because it got cool skill animations xD.

i think pala should be called the ‘knight of all elements’ rather than ‘knight of absolute defense’.
People are complaining about Ice/Lightning mages already. It looks as if they’re over-powered once again. Fire/Poison got a huge nerf and so did Bishops. Paladins aren’t really getting anything. If anything it’s a slight defense nerf and slightly better mobbing capability. Dark Knights and Heroes definitely got the best changes along side Ice/Lightning.
They adding delay to our ONLY 4th job attacking skill. Reducing the number of hits, and reducing the dmg. Really? I/L are op? <

Even if their dmg formula was changed, it’s still unwelcome rebalance for me. I rather have Chain Lightning hitting 6 times instead of 4.<

How so? IF the damage formula was adjusted for BETTER, then percentages shouldn’t matter. This shouldn’t be a problem.
Is it pleasing to see 6 hits on chain lightning or something? I don’t know about you, but I dislike seeing numbers climbing to the top of the screen by nearly every class in the game. It’s not like you’re going to add all those numbers up in your head anyways so why should it matter?
Unless by the time unlimited hits, you can show us that you can hit 50mil each hit, then okay. But if you don’t, then it shouldn’t matter. Most people aren’t capable of that right now.
They should increase the no. of hits or maybe the no. of mob hits CL and remove the cooldown for the icy dragon skill so it will be something like the Carrion breath of demon slayer, ya know what i mean?
they did a great job on the skills animation but the only skill i have a problem with his animation is “Threaten” of the page it just look wierd

Nexon is being responsive. Not sure if this is a sign of better customer service or a sign they’re losing their iron grip over the direction of the game.

Why don’t you google it up and research it yourself if you’re going to ask about the formula. Oh but your argument next would probably be “you guys don’t have proof of it, so there is no formula”. That’s an invalid argument, and you don’t know that either. So one of the two sides is going to be wrong anyways. :]
Yo guys, Inven has confirmed it, V IS the 5th job, supposed to be for RED. However, they may be huge delay because of the sheer amount of jobs. Check Spadow’s blog~
Which more or less negates everyone’s complaints, if they get 5th job out and done in a timely fashion. There’s no telling what 5th Job could do to add onto these changes, and there’s a lot of stuff they still haven’t implemented in tespia that was mentioned in the RED conference thing

One thing is for sure though, we should have a lot to look forward. High hopes for these changes, this may make all classes gamebreakers. (Hopefully, Nexon doesn’t screw it all up… then or later.)
I like it that Nexon is listening to players’ feedback, rather than just randomly buffing or nerfing a class. Nexon will probably never know what ‘balancing’ means, but at least they don’t immediately finalize the raw ideas they come up with.
I’m not excited for the Adventurer revamps, because I don’t give much f’s about them. It may or may not be obvious from my previous posts elsewhere that I worry that F/p Archmage may overcome Battle Mage. I have a selfish obsession over my Battle Mage, and I’ll admit that it would anger me if an Adventurer Mage whether it be F/p or w/e would make us mediocre. If that would happen, I still wouldn’t switch jobs because I don’t like F/p mages.
Taking a hit off of AR (bish’s only good attack skill) and lowering the att/m. att on AB is seriously nerfing the bishops I love to play so much. Also, why take away big bang for the other mages but keep it for bish? It is a terrible skill that I never see anyone use. Also, I don’t like the armour they put bahamut in

So Warriors and Pirates are pretty getting alot of attention since Post-Tempest?
Your observation would be corect had there been an equal number of WMATPs. In reality, there are only two Adventurer Archers and Heroes have two magicians and no pirates.
Also: second the comment below about 4th job revamp
So now that 5th Job has been confirmed to be coming, can we all please calm down about minor 4th job nerfs until we see what they do with 5th Job? Honestly, the “balancing” required for an additional job is a lot more complex than just the buffs necessary without it. In fact, for most classes, depending on what level 5th Job starts at, a slight nerf would be necessary to prevent power creep from becoming an even bigger problem than it already is.
I still think that the changes to Paladins is completely ridiculous though. I liked my charge buffs…

Paladins suck in RED update!!
1. It’s true that they get stronger, wider attack range, more mobility
2. But
a. the attack speed of some certain skills is much increased, especially Threaten and Blast, which are 2 main skills for Pallies. Details: Threaten (600ms -> 1260ms); Blast (840ms -> 1380ms).
b. Advanced Charge’s master level is increased from 10 to 30, so we pallies get less advantage from CO and inner +1…
c. Abnormal status toilerance and Element Resistance are decreased from +32% (with CO) to 20% (with CO).
d. Divine Shield now no longer takes advantage from CO. (12hits guard, 34watt buff -> 10hít guard, 20watt buff)
e. Shield Mastery’s Defense increase is nerfed from +200% to +50%…
… Pallies’ revamp sucks in RED update. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

If 5th job comes, does that mean we cant max all our 4th job skills?

This is true, nexon is focusing on balancing adventurers which mean they will be weak. Do they focus on balancing any other characters they make? No. That is why they are over-powered and will remain that way compared to the “balanced” adventurers. There are quite a few new things but the majority of all the changes were nerfs not upgrades. There should be a Maple 1 and 2. This idea is long overdue and the pre-big bang version should be Maple 1 while the people who demand on spending thousands of dollars a year on a video game play Maple 2.
WRONG! its not that adventurers keep getting nerfed, its that other classes keep getting buffed more/more often so adventurers can’t keep up. Also, balancing isn’t all about making overpowered things WEAKER, its also about making UNDERPOWERED things stronger. However, up until now, they have only “balanced” classes by nerfing them, they call buffs reorganizations because they do NOTHING to balance the game, they just tip the scales in a different direction, and as such, just reorganize the rankings of classes, and not balancing those rankings, because they don’t buff the classes who need it most, and they don’t nerf the classes who should be most, or at least not right away. Its REALLY obvious that they don’t care about balance, since they CONSISTENTLY release classes that are overpowered right off the bat, and then take 6 months to nerf it. I kinda think that GMS is losing money because overpowered classes are released right after they get nerfed in KMS, so people spend less money funding it. On the other hand, until recently, MapleSEA and EMS were so far behind KMS that the classes usually receive a recovery buff in KMS before either of them got the class, so people would still be willing to fund it subconsciously aware of the fact that it will be buffed again in the future, and consciously aware of HOW it will be buffed
And again, people are whining about the state of things without thinking of the future.

so, damage cap raised up immensely, expect people to realize they’re coming out with more content that would allow players to reach that cap, new weapons, fifth job, revamps, etc.
Do people think? Nope. They think their current regime is f***ed and say the change is pointless.
So, they introduce revamps for 4th job, saying they want everything to be better.
A -TEST- server experiments with some gameplay for some new heroes.
Do people find it interesting to see the potential reworks, and discuss how they hope things might progress?
Nope. Whining about how the changes are adamant, ruining their current characters, taking extreme offense, arguments all over the place, etc. etc.
If you don’t like change, if you can’t adapt, don’t play a MMO that needs to constantly change and progress in order to stay fresh.
If you’re raging about the changes that are proposed, wake the hell up and realize it’s not the end of the world, or rage quit and leave.
I’m not saying you have no right to complain, don’t like the battlemage changes? Don’t like some of the proposed 4th job changes? Fine! Complain! Just don’t throw an entitled hissy-fit and take things to such ridiculous, childish extremes.
Don’t like the new paladin rework? Fine!

Those are great! but when you get to things like
“WHY DID THEY NERF? DAMAGE AND TIMING IS CRAP NOW”
or “NO MORE DEFENSIVE SKILLS? NEXON RUINS EVERYTHING.”
or “WELL MY PALADIN IS OFFICIALLY -DEAD- NOW GG”
It just… c’mon, you haven’t even seen them in action, you haven’t even considered that it’s not really an “update” but a test…
Try to think ahead a bit, that things will change, and likely for the better.
To be fair to them though, Nexon has been notorious for having and iron grip over changes of characters, as well as anything to do with the game and not really listening to what the players want, therefore that conditioned people to act this way with regards to this game. Now that Nexon is actually listening (at least for now) people will have to adapt to that, and that will take a while.
But I agree with you, people need to adapt, nothing has ever gotten better staying the same, especially with regards to MMOs, and people talking about Pre-BB do need to seriously be quiet. Things change, and they need to adapt or put the game down and take a walk. (Seriously guys, how practical is grinding one whole month to gain a single level in EARLY levels? There are people who like this game with lives you know?)
There’s changing and then there’s butchering. Butchering is a nerf on something that didn’t need a nerf. Chain Lightning had an 80 ms delay added to it, and a cut of 94%. In addition to… whatever happened to Glacial Chain, cutting of DoT, and unreliable and awkward freezing… People have a right to complain when the change is bad.
I so hope we don’t get the decrease in Hits for Angel Ray bishops suck enough as it is I think Maple needs to look on how to make them a bit stronger to catch up with the other classes. I am well aware it is a supportive class but not everyone wants a supportive character to play in Party quests or bossing its annoying. So I think a damage increase and hit increase is well needed. Please don’t take away holy shield either, I will cry then find you then kill you lol 🙂

LF revamps of:
Archers (boring lamesauce)
Thieves (weaksauce compared to Hax Blade and Haxon)
Pirates (the novelty’s worn off, leaving them unimpressive)
Night Walkers (forever neglected, even during the supposed Cygnus revamp)
Mechanic (left out of the supposed Resistance revamp, not to mention an aesthetic and thematic embarrassment)
80% of that list consists of Thieves and Pirates, while warriors get Mikhail, Dawn Warrior and all three melee Adventurers revamped before the Thief and Pirate adventurers get even a single shred of exclusive love. Nexon seems to hate Thieves and Pirates for some reason. Maybe it’s because they’ve got a bug up their ass about software thieves and pirates. Who knows? Who cares? But it’d be nice to see:
An Assassin that actually tries to be the unstoppable, untouchable killing machine it’s supposed to be. They should actually make the Dark Lord, King of Ninjas, proud.
A Brawler who can reach Super Saiyan 2 through 4 using Transformation as its specialty skill. The 4th job version would be a fusion dance with it for MAXIMUM SAIYAN POWER.
A cowboyish gunslinger who’s more like Haken Browning than Inspector Gadget (fuck Jett!).
And a mechanic who’s more like LaTale’s engineers, piloting a “super” robot rather than a “real” one. Alternatively, just give mechanics Bonta-kun or Tekkaman (Sol) style “powered armor”.
In fact, if they really wanted to revamp Mechanics, they should make the mount a motorcycle with a max speed bonus that transforms into powered armor to attack LIKE THE BADASS MOTHERFUCKING GARLAND FROM MEGAZONE 23, those slightly less badass bikes from Mospeada or those partner machines from Metal Jack (Jack On! Jack Off! Never a miscommunication!), complete with bosozoku summons (consisting of other bot riding resistance members) and a flight mode similar to Xenon’s.
There’s a way to revamp classes right, and it seems like Nexon is doing all the wrong classes only some of the right ways. Their mentality needs to be about 20% more style over substance. It’s such a shame that even when they try, they still fail spectacularly to make classes that are actually appealing in the long term, rather than just as something cool and new to try. Someone really should make them watch some classic 80s and 90s anime to see where they can improve upon the classic classes to make them abide by the rule of cool, and to hell if they play the same as they used to!

I’d say with these nub buffs and over the top new animations, they’re actually doing more like FIFTY percent more style over substance, just not the kind of style YOU envisioned/expected. Also, I can’t seem to remember them EVER revamping Mihile so far. Sure, they got hyper skills, but so did thieves.
Also, the plural form of Ninja is STILL Ninja, and they don’t have kings, they have CLAN LEADERS, Thieves have kings, ninja do not.
Mechanics are supposed to have a steampunk theme, not a high tech giant transforming mecha theme, seriously, if they tried to change that aspect of mechanics, the Mechanics would QQ about losing their steampunk theme, and it would play out exactly like the Battle Mage revamp, where the Battle Mages QQ’d so hard about losing their “dark” theme, that they just undid all the changes to Battle Mages and promised that they’ll plan something else for battle mages that will keep the theme consistent. Do you really want that? Do you really want them to announce a revamp that would appease your wishes, only to see it canceled because everyone else hated it? I mean, I know I would probably be disappointed in the current theme of Mechanics if I were you, but I (you) would (probably) be even MORE disappointed if they announced a revamp to change the mechanic’s theme to my (your) ideal concept of mechanics, and then it was canceled. I’d (you’d) probably rage even harder about it being canceled then I did about how terrible the revamps were probably going to be in the first place.
First off, Mihile was a new warrior class who came out after Phantom and the thief/pirate revamp. He’s not a revamp per se, but he still catered to the warrior subset of players, which is why I counted him amongst the attention they’ve been receiving since then.
As for the BaM revamp, I’m happy about it regardless of the fact that Nexon pussied out because people QQ’d about the fact that they were getting revamped in the first place. It was much needed and would’ve been enjoyable. At least there’s video footage of it for later generations of Maplers to reminisce about when their fingers are broken from constantly having to manually activate BaM’s hyper skill after every attack.
If they revamped Mechs and then canceled it, that would be even better. There’d actually be documented video footage that Nexon could do robots right, even if they decided not to because apparently 99% of Maplers are dumbasses who scream bloody murder because they can’t understand, appreciate nor enjoy change, even when it’s actually positive and for the better.
Then again, with the way they fumbled around with Adventurers, they’d probably screw my desired revamps up so bad that I’d want them to be canceled, too. It seems they used up all their creative juices on 3 of the Cygnus Knights and 2 Resistance classes, and then started derping around again.
Unfortunately, the backlash to the BaM overhaul might’ve contributed to their half assed handling of adventurers. Rather than completely reworking all their skills, they kept some and left warriors and magicians a mish mash of new and old. They really need to get the fuck over trying to please everyone and instead should make the classes as cool as they possible can be. Not just graphically, but gameplay wise also, regardless of what change haters might say.

Peoples just complain so much about the revamps, but don’t see that they wast a lot of time seeing something new, but not something with no sense i think, and peoples just become in rage with is bad.
But if you see the skills was really good, so they nerfed hard to 5 job have a really good reason, we don’t even know the rest, it’s just in the server test but they still able to change it, maple is not only 4 job 5 job may be comming soon so it will change a lot.
Nexon never fails to disappoint lol. They compromised a complete “overhaul” and “revamp” for all explorers and all we get are nerfs and reskins. WTF? Explorers are still underpowered in terms of their skills and stats. At least give explorers like 50% or 75% hp/mp boosts to match up to these new OP classes HP/MP.

That blue spear buster/crusher for ‘Dragon’ knights was my favorite skill in the whole game, the reason i wanted to get to 70 and beyond in the first place. When I reached level 100 on my DK which I made when I started playing again, post bb, during tempest patch, I was dissapointed to see it starts changing colors – let alone Dark Impale… If they proceed with this, sure I will test it for lulz on my LV179 DrK but I am not going to play him anymore again. its all about Dual Blade from now… But I have hopes of Thief revamp being sweet… Bring back a new version of Avenger! Shade split kills it for me. Reorganize throwing animation! A sweet stream like pre bb please 🙂

Guys you didn’t see something i think, they nerfed the multiplier, but rised the multiplied, so if you see the hyper skll give 20%dmg in the multiplied because you get a lot of hit, if it was in the multiplier it would up only 20k for thoose with 100k rang, so they uped the multiplied maybe by a lot, i/L got his main skill nerfed a litte bit, but there’s the mastery that they added to some, also attack bonus, minimum critical damage and %ignore def, so %dmg in ur skil is not everything.
make a new class without taking players opinion-> screw the class without taking opinion-> then start fixing it by taking opinion from players… nexon’s way of making the game nexon’ed

They need to change Angel Ray, it shouldn’t heal players because then Bishops will be totally useless in expeditions that cast Zombie.
Like accidentally killing the entire party because the player cast Angel Ray, while everyone was in Zombie Mode.

Bro about zombifique , what youre sayng it’s no sense , because it heals 90% of the allies hp then prob 45% with zombifique, the skill HEAL heal 300% of ur hp so it’s diference
