kMSt ver. 1.2.509 – More Skill Changes!
Another Tespia patch has been released, this time with even more skill changes, some changes to the enhancement system, and a new set of summer events called Summer Limited (including an attendance check, coin shop, and ice boxes).
The world screen has also been changed, it says MapleStory: Coordinator’s Helping Hand – Star Force. Is that the Summer update’s name…? At least it gives a good indication that all the enhancement system changes will be coming in the first patch!
A while back I talked about the potential inheritance system, which was basically if your item got destroyed while scrolling, you would receive an Item Traces which carried the potential of your item. These Traces could then be used on another of the same equip to regain the potential you had previously.
Well, in this patch, it has been renamed equipment inheritance, and this is because the Traces will now carry over scrolled stats as well! I love this change, now if you boom your equip you just need to get another clean version and you’ll have all your progress back!
For the new enhancement system, for 10 stars and higher, the cost has been reduced and the success rates have been increased.
Items that have been scrolled by the Miraculous Enhancement Scrolls will have a blue display. These items cannot go past 15 stars and cannot be enhanced with the Star Force system.
New animations have been added for when you reach a level that gives you 2x SP or when you unlock a new Hyper Skill! Thanks to Spadow for the gifs~
Skill Changes
Hero
In the last patch, we tried to raise Hero’s hunting efficiency by changing the function of Combo Force. However, we realized that it was more useful before so we reverted the change but removed its Combo cost.
Paladin
After removing the elemental ignore effect, the skill name did not match with its function so we changed it appropriately.
Void Elemental has been renamed Elemental Charge
Advanced Charge: number of hits boost to Charge skills have been increased from 1 to 2, number of hits boost to Blast has been decreased from 2 to 1
Bowmaster
After the previous patch, we found that Bowmaster was still lacking damage, so we increased some numbers and fixed an error where Final Attack was not being activated sometimes.
However, the increased damage together with more activations of Final Attack were way too strong so after careful review, we reduced Arrow Blaster’s damage and attack speed.
Extreme Archery: Bow: damage boost has been increased from 30% to 40%, attack boost has been increased from 20 to 40
Arrow Blaster: installed turret’s damage has been decreased from 153% to 125%, attack speed has been changed from 80ms to 120ms, an error where Final Attack sometimes did not activate has been fixed
Illusion Step: DEX boost has been increased from 60 to 80
Hurricane: damage has been increased from 280% to 300%, an error where Final Attack sometimes did not activate has been fixed
Hurricane – Split Attack: damage reduction has been decreased from 50% to 65% (this means Hurricane will have 2 hits that each do 65% of its original damage)
Shadower
Last patch, we decreased the delay and increased the attack speed of Assassinate and Boomerang Step to be stronger in 1:1 situations. However, now we think it might need to be stronger so we have adjusted its delay.
Captain
It makes sense that each skill should have a different role, but for Captains, both Rapid Shot and Head Shot are 1:1 skills. In order for both skills to have their own roles, we have deleted the Head Shot – Cooltime Reduce skill and replaced it with a Boss Killer upgrade. We have also adjusted Quick Draw.
Now, Captain has powerful hunting patterns in which they can use Rapid Shot and every now and then, Quick Draw into Head Shot for more damage.
Head Shot: damage has been decreased from 800% to 500%, number of hits has been increased from 4 to 8
Quick Draw: damage boost has been increased from 30% to 50%
Captain Dignity: damage has been increased from 200% to 250%
NEW! Head Shot – Boss Killer: Head Shot’s damage to bosses is increased by 20%.
REMOVED! Head Shot – Cooltime Reduce
Mercedes
In the last test server patch, we received many user comments that the new Ignis Roar was very bad while bossing, so we fixed that. In addition, changing Legendary Spear affected hunting a lot so we added a small change that should fix it.
Ignis Roar: attack boost has been returned to the existing effect (40 attack when the skill is used), in addition to existing effects this skill increases your attack by 3 for 10 seconds if you chain skills (up to a maximum of 10 times)
Legendary Spear: Leap Tornado’s damage boost has been increased from 30% to 60%, in addition to existing effects linking skills will reduce Legendary Spear’s cooldown by 1 second for each skill used
Demon Slayer
There was an error where Force was not being automatically recovered, making hunting a bit more difficult. We fixed the error so you can have a seamless battle experience.
Demon Avenger
After last patch’s SP changes, Demon Avenger did not have enough skills to use all their SP.
Mechanic
After last patch’s SP changes, Mechanic did not have enough skills to use all their SP.
Angelic Burster
Soul Seeker Expert was not as good as we’d hoped it would be due to its low activation rate, so we increased it.

Hey max, a little late, but, in Version 1.2.215: Friends Story, buffs now show their duration in minutes. Thing is, how does it show the # of stacks now? You know, for things like Zero’s DoubleTime, Thunder Breaker’s Lightning, Archmage’s Arcane Aim, Bishop’s Holy Magic Shell, Luminous’s Anti Magic Shell, Dark Crescendo, and Black Blessing, Eunwol’s Spirit Ward, Shadower’s Flip of the Coin, and Demon Avenger’s Exceed. It uses the same font, and I think it’s in the same place. How does that work? Does it just show the stacks, or…

so captain was basically nerfed in this patch…. gg nexon nerfing the weakest and nabiest class already in maple story now will be age when no one play captain anymore.. even with these changes rapid fire is weaker than what our headshot was and now we no longer have headshot more than that quick draw not working well with rapid fire cause its not automaticly actived we need to stop attacking and active it.. ….
im very let down with captain changes and im surly quitting captain .. and perhaps making a bow master or paladin instead.. please someone tell nexon to fix this silly changes for captain..
The only nerf they made to Head Shot is the removal of cooldown reduce skill, isn’t it? They even increased the number of lines, so the total damage also increases (from 800*4 -> 500*8). Moreover, they buffed up many damage boost skills too.
Also, I think they did mention once that buffing the rapid fire directly will make phantom too powerful. Well, imo this is not a nerf at all.

if they want to remove headshot and force us into using rapid fire they should consider making both rapid fire and final attack 500% or aswell giving some passive damage boost like bow master like 30-40% damage boost
yeah, and if they want to make quick draw worth something its not only about adding damage, they should make it passively actived as in … when the chance of 8% take a place it should atumaticly make the next attack stronger and not that we need to press on the skill to active it and make next attack stronger… cause then its only slow us …
LOL?? is it logical to improve Extreme Archery: Bow and ignore Crossbow?
I pity those Crossbow user, their damage is just big in numbers but surely lose to Bow master’s DPS after this huge buff of 40% damage and 40 dex extras.

so you would like to see NEXON removed the hyper of snipe and add back the strafe to MM? Or restructuring the MM’s playstyle and skills????? so they will get buffed no matter what,. After RED, MM is just as powerful as it can be.

Yea, I think MM are really good right now. Be glad your attack skills aren’t getting nerfed and tossed around like BM >_<… makes me think about switching over to MM. BM's have always gotten crappy updates… nothing but 10% hurricane boosts. Red was what they needed and now kms is messing it up D:!!!
Are you insane? MM has incredibly limited potential and literally the worst hyper attack skill of all classes. Snipe needs to have a way higher cap to even match hurricane, and the hyper definitely needs more lines or higher cap. Seriously.

… I don’t like the paladin changes at all (well only the void elemental) . I understand that 100 % elemental ignore was op. But completely removing it makes this skill more of a passive than a buff. They maybe could have reduced the elemental ignore to 50%.I believe that’s reasonable… I honestly hope they change the skill in the future patches.
Max, does that mean that there will be no more bossing with head shot anymore?? Since the cooldown is gone, Corsairs have the short end of the stick don’t you think? I mean, most corsairs use head shot for bossing since it has OP damage to begin with, but with the this update, wouldn’t our most useful 1v1 skill be taken away?
In my opinion, classes with skills such as Snipe and Headshot are boring since once you get the cooldown reduce Hyper for them, all other skills become useless and you just spam them at bosses. That’s why I play a BM and not MM!

captain: this is a change i agree with mostly. the concept of headshot was clearly never to use it as your main bossing skill, but as a thing to help you occasionally. perhaps to take out a non-boss monster high above your level. instead, people maxed it and spammed it so much that the captain was completely ridiculous. now the skill is more likely to be used for it’s intended purpose, and rapid fire might ever be used…
=O Very nice to see that change to the equipment trace thing. I love the idea that if I somehow manage to get a weapon perfectly upgraded, I won’t have to worry about doing that over and over just for the sake of Equipment Enhancing ❤
I also like that the game will let you know when your new Hyper skills are ready, I tend to just miss those entirely, since you had to manually open your Hyper Skill window to see if you had anything new.

is star force system same as equip enchantment?
The Star Force system is a blanket term, including the new enhancement system (with a minigame to increase success rate), a new stat in your Ability window called Star Force that is your total number of stars on your equipped items, and new maps that require a certain amount of Star Force to be able to fight the monsters in them.
The changes to captain ain’t even funny seriously. What a chore to use rapid fire, stop to QuickDraw headshot and then rapid fire again geez. Plus we have so many buffs and summons skills to use already-.- QuickDraw will be much better if it’s automatically activated..

arrow blaster nerf = phantoms nerfed
lengthened the attack speed od arrow blaster and reduced the damage of turret mode = phantoms nerfed. 🙂
Idk I thought bm liked arrowblaster, why shouldn’t that be their 4th job skill. I understand why they don’t want phantoms to become too powerful but the bm stuff looks way more like a nerf then a buff. Lol I guess it’s just Mille+ arrowblaster for phantoms now :p

I really enjoy blaster and I feel like we’re going backwards by switching back to hurricane. It just seems so mundane and boring compared to blaster D:!!! I’ve been playing this class for a looong time so blaster was a nice change. I really like being able to hit monsters on the opposite side of the map. I’m glad nexon buffed it up a bit but it’s still kinda meh. It’ll hurt dojo times a lot x.x… I hope 5th job brings some fun new changes.
this is the way to nerf the skill stealer, Phantoms, so just humbly accept it.
So…just because some other class is op, instead of changing them (like, say, increasing the skill steal nerf on a few specific skills), Nexon decide to suck out all the fun from an already weak class?

Questions:
1. What is with all the Shad buffs? Are they not like, one of the strongest classes in the game to begin with? Do they really need lower delays and more damage?
2. LOL BYE BYE CAPTAIN. What were they thinking, nerfing one of the lowest DPS classes in the game? I get that they wanted to go back to Headshot being kind of a “once in a while” kind of thing, but did they not stop to think that switching from Rapid Fire to Quickdraw into Headshot would be a bit clunky?
3. No Cannoneer love? Of course, we rarely get anything so I’m used to it, but it’d have been nice to see a slight buff to Barrage; even a slightly lower delay on it would be nice because as-is, the delay is so long that it makes dodging at bosses really difficult. I have to kind of throw in a few shots at Chaos Root Abyss, then run the fuck away, or else I die to whatever because the delay with Barrage is too long to dodge things like Queen’s DR, Von Bon’s instakills, and Pierre and Vellum in general. I’d even be happy with a slight damage nerf, as long as they decreased that GOD AWFUL delay.
Also:
To all complaining about Marksman not getting anything, look at how many patches affected Cannoneer in any significant way. Thanks, and have a great day.
Phantom, feel so sad to you! because now BM can set up one turret arrow blaster and use the hurricane with hyper split damage to do 3 hits while you only can do it with an arrow blaster and a turret mode. The speed of arrow blaster was decreased too… Welcome back, my favourite skill, hurricane! 🙂
yup I agree with captain complains, I have no problems with getting rid of headshot but then instead give us some decent improvements that would actually boost our dps we are already one of the lowest dps classes and lowest hp and survive ability class…. and if they remove headshot then they should give us new skill or improve our passive skills to give % damage passive or some passive attack boost … aswell as improving rapid fire by hyper not giving 20% damage but something much more serious … aswell as boosting out ship skill that comes along rapid fire our boombs to make it stronger than our headshot was . I mean wtf I thought they said captain needed a boost in damage but instead they nerfed us badly even with these changes to final attack we did more damage with old headshot than we can do now with new rapid fire and no changes to boob skill since it doesn’t active the final attack … these changes are very bad and im totally quitting my captain and never play this class again… definitely going to make bow master instead or something else. you will probably never see captain again after this patch

Is it possible to take your boomed equips stats (scroll+pot) to a different item of the same category? Say, I boom my reverse black beauty (crossbow) while enhancing, could I transfer the potential and scrolled stats to an empress crossbow?
I’ve been waiting so long for a way to upgrade my reverse items which are perfectly scrolled+have great pot into higher leveled sets, without having them to rot away and having to cube again. If the above stated method works, that’d would be terrific.

As a Paladin, I’m fearing the oncoming disappearance of the Elemental-resist ignore as that + Blast are my rice bowl of damage right there. Just hope that my judgement is right that bishops are a stable job now and that it’s safe to throw all my stuff there ._.
People like you piss me off…just jumping on the damage bandwagon like a wayward little bitch. If u main a class, you should main it because you like it personally, and despite getting nerfed, still make it work. Pallys were op from the start of RED anyway. They needed that.
so I wonder to my self, is there any captain out there whos actually going to stop rapid fire to quick draw and then headshot and then back into rapid fire? because what I think to my self is that captain gameplay is already annoying enough with all the buffs aim and summons that we have to make all the time ..
my self I don’t see my self stop rapid fire to headshot in between. or stopping to use quick draw… more than this I believe that with the current changes.. and adding cd back on headshot and only 300% on rapid fire and 250% on the final attack even if quick draw was passively giving 50% damage boost as passive and active always it wouldn’t be enough to bring captain in the dps classes or list.. right now I think it even lose to all classes in dps and now they are taking out our strongest skill… and I think even with these changes to our final attack Broadside is still stronger than rapid fire and more useful on bosses as its range is even bigger and the damage is still better….. if they wanted to improve captain they should have considered improving this skill if removing headshot or perhaps reworking captain again less depends on buffs and more passives great improvement to rapid fire hyper skills or final attack … or in adding to our final attack making a hyper skill causing rapid fire hit twice.. maybe then it would bring captain back but right now I don’t see how anyone is going to play captain… is still squisy class with 0 dps this class has now with the remove of headshot no atvantage and nothing hes good at .. compared to other classes which are totally op as in more tanky and more damage and even more mobility. this patch is when captain are removed completely from the game. I like the removing of headshot idea but they should give us something in return that make up completely for the lose of headshot and that actuall boost our damage and dps …

I think they should at least make proc chance 50% or give a 50% to create 2 additional orbs when using regular Soul Seeker…like common really nexon are that dumb at balancing? + Angelic buster have 2 completely useless skills Melody cross (accuracy buff…wtf= and Pretty exaltation (100% recharge chance…when we dont even f%”# need it cuz we already have Affinity IV…) I am pissed that they are just doing dumb balancings!
