Hey guys! Last night, they let you see if you were chosen to be an Alpha tester for MapleStory 2 on the homepage! Sadly, I was not chosen 😦 But you are allowed to download the client and create a character before the official start of testing on the 17th.

I know Southperry is working on cracking the game so watch out, we might get a lot of information! Please keep checking back as I add more stuff I find!

WARNING: LOTS OF IMAGES AHEAD

So I currently have two videos of the character creation. As you can see, there are a TON of possible ways to customize your character! With a lot of different hair styles, faces, and colours, you can make your character so unique. That’s not even counting the number of ways you can move things around, change the length of your hair, and put special marks on. I’m really excited to try this out.

I installed the game myself even though I wasn’t chosen, because I was interested to see the files haha. It’s about 2.35GB, compared to my MapleStory folder which is 6.40GB!

Here’s the server selection and character selection screens. Currently, the only world is Scania. On the character selection screen, you can see your different characters, their level and job, the date you created them, and the location they are currently at.

Here’s the settings. In a lot of the graphics ones, there will be small popups that show you the different between having an option on or off, it’s very useful!

I found a bunch of random images in the folder as well. These two were under ‘Cube’.

These were under ‘Equip’. They look a bit weird in this format but obviously they’re meant to wrap around your character in-game haha.

Oh man, this art is soooooo nice! It was labelled as Lith Harbor login. Click on it to see it in its full sized amazing-ness!!

There were some special pictures for certain towns and areas, maybe they play in an intro or something. Maple Island (and I guess Southperry) returns!

Here are some assorted backgrounds for some cities, including Ludibrium and something labelled SF-A!

There were character portraits for some NPCs, pretty cute haha.

An… interesting image for a guide on how to use the Construct Mode for building your house and decorating it as well.

There was also this, Maver (hahahaha like Naver) which looks like an in-game web browser? But I don’t think you can go to any sites, it looks sort of like a fun in-game thing with a map of the world which you can search and explore (like Google Maps) and some links to news sites on the side. There’s an article called “Tru and Oshkal, on a date!” haha.

The glove hand mouse curse returns! There’s also the damage numbers (not sure what all the colours are for) and something called the Kill Count system, which I assume is similar to the new Combo/Multikill system they added in You&I.

There was an interesting image for the Item Fusion system. Not sure what it entails but there is an image of an example item!

I think the 32 is the level requirement. Weird that it states ‘male Ranger’, does that mean this game will have gender specific weapons?

Here’s some of the UI for the mannequin system, which allows you to show off outfits in your home and instantly exchange outfits on the go.

There’s going to be some sort of roulette system, haha those illustrations though.

Some other interesting things I saw in the files (but no pictures) were a job change system and a gem setting system. Job change will probably be similar to the open advancement in MS1 but the gem setting seems new, I guess it could be like the Nebulites that GMS has?

Here’s a TON of minimap images! You can click them to see bigger versions. Some of these maps look gigantic, hopefully it will be fun to explore them!!

Ahhhhh I really love the art style of these NPC illustrations! Some of them were introduced to us before but some are completely new! Again, you can click on them to see the full size.
