A new patch has been released, celebrating MapleStory’s 13th anniversary! Along with many events, the Pink Bean job has returned and many quality of life changes have been added.

The client’s size has been decreased.

Reboot World’s Rest Experience Coupon system has been expanded to all worlds.

• When not logged in for 2 days: 3 2x Experience Coupons (15 minutes)
• When not logged in for 3 days: 4 2x Experience Coupons (15 minutes)
• When not logged in for 4 days: 5 2x Experience Coupons (15 minutes)

System Related

The skill effect transparency control option has been added. In the System Options, you can now adjust the transparency of your own and other characters’ skill effects.

Here’s how it looks in-game! You can adjust your own skill effects from ‘visible’ to ‘translucent’ and other characters’ skill effects from ‘visible’ to ‘transparent’.

It seems like it only affects the base effects. Any additional effects, hit effects, summons, and installed skills will not be affected.

After using Scroll Traces to upgrade your item, your selected scroll will no longer be reset.

New features have been added to Star Force enhancements.

• You can now turn off the Star Catcher minigame to make enhancing faster. However, you will not receive the success rate increasing effect.
• From the 12th ~ 16th star, you can now consume additional mesos in order to prevent the destruction of an item when enhancing. (seems to be double the cost)

You can now see the remaining cooldowns of skills on your quickslots. It will be in minutes if it is above 60 seconds and in seconds if it is less than 60 seconds. They will be in different colours and will disappear when there are less than 5 seconds remaining.

This new system will also be applied to the buff icons in the top right corner of the screen.

Monsters will no longer drop Bow/Crossbow Arrows, Pandora’s Keys, or Epi’s Keys.

You can now enable the ability to right click items to sell them in NPC shops.

An alert will now appear when an item in the Repurchase tab of NPC shops is about to be overwritten.

When exiting the game (using the X button or pressing ALT + F4), a popup has been added asking for confirmation to exit the game.

The Soul Weapon window can now be brought up/closed using a new keyboard shortcut.

The Character Information window can now be brought up/closed using a new keyboard shortcut.

You can now discard items while in combat.

You can now take out pets while hanging on a rope or ladder.

When reviving using the Wheel of Destiny or while in a PC Room, you will now be revived with full HP and MP.

Flames of Reincarnation can no longer be used on equipment that has been locked.

Avatar megaphones will no longer appear in the top right corner of your screen while in certain hunting areas and boss battles. However, they will still appear in your chatting window as normal.

The time it takes to open the Quest Information window has been decreased.

The Clothing Box in Henesys has been changed to use a drag and drop system in order to minimize accidental item discarding.

When using Miracle Circulators, you can now choose between keeping the Before or After abilities.

When using Additional Cubes, you can now press the ‘Use one more time’ button.

Items that need a key type item (like the Pandora’s Box or Epi’s Box) can now be opened by just double clicking them.

Content Related

The rare reward related logic from Elite Bosses has been changed.

• The character which summons the Elite Boss will now receive 1 additional rare reward.
• The character which deals the most damage to the Elite Boss will now receive 1 additional rare reward.
• You can now obtain up to 1 additional rare reward but you will receive a drop rate penalty if you are not within a certain level range of the Elite Boss.

In boss content, when a boss dies and a character who dealt the most damage does not exist, other party members will still receive rewards.

In The SEED, if you leave the 50th floor in any way other than clearing it, you will now receive Hazy Stones based on your remaining time.

Also, the person that gets rank 1 in the SEED rankings can now choose between The SEED Master Emblem and The SEED Legend Emblem.

In Mu Lung Dojo, the higher platform on each floor has been removed due to certain movement skills causing you to get stuck.

You can no longer right click the Rune experience buff to remove it.

 

You can now hold multiple Horntail Pendants/Chaos Horntail Pendants.

Boss Entry Reset Tickets will now be reset at midnight on Thursdays like boss entry limits.

You can now change channels during Kritias invasions.

After using the Guild’s Blessing, you can no longer use it again until 1 minute has passed. The screen effect’s duration has been decreased.

Normal Horntail’s guild contribution has been adjusted. Bosses which did not give guild contribution when defeated will now do so.

Damien’s Soul and his Soul Skill have been added.

•  Sword of Destruction (magnificent): Summon Enraged Damien for 120 seconds, dealing 1800% damage on up to 10 monsters (level 2 – 2200% damage on up to 12 monsters). Cooldown of 180 seconds.

Certain bosses have been added to Murmur’s Soul Collector. Filling out the entire page will upgrade that boss’ Soul Skill to level 2.

Past Anniversary Item Museum

The Past Anniversary Item Museum will run from April 21 to May 18. Hunt Elite Monsters and the Frankenbalrog to get Past Anniversary Equipment Boxes and open them to collect equipment from the 1st~12th anniversaries! You can then donate these equipment pieces to the museum for prizes.

Items that can be donated will have a flashing maple leaf icon in the bottom right corner of the inventory. You can drag and drop them into the museum (note: you will not be able to get them back!).

If you have certain items which you absolutely cannot find, you can use the Pink Bean Chance to fill them in! You can only do this 3 times per day.

13th Anniversary’s Bloodthirsty Achievements

During the 13th Anniversary, there are a set of achievements which you can complete to get various prizes and a special title.

You can complete them in any order and they are shared between all characters in one world, but you can only receive the prizes once per world.

• Login on a Friday during the 13th Anniversary (10 13th Anniversary Coins)
• Defeat a Frankenbalrog (20 13th Anniversary Coins)
• Collect a Henesys Chair or Leafre Chair (40 13th Anniversary Coins)
• Make 1,000 monster balloons (50 13th Anniversary Coins)
• Complete the museum and receive the Maple Collector medal (80 13th Anniversary Coins)

When you complete all 5 achievements, you’ll receive the FRIDAY the 13th title which gives 50 all stats, 20 attack and magic attack, 30% boss damage, 30% defense ignore, and 2000 HP and MP (stats expire in 30 days).

Produce Pink Bean

The Pink Bean job has returned! Bored in his own dimension, the crafty Black Bean sends Pink Bean to Henesys (not the Temple of Time)!

Pink Bean wears warrior equipment and his main stat is STR. Instead of job advancements and skill points, Pink Bean learns skills at certain levels and his skills’ damage and his stats are based on his current level.

When creating Pink Bean, you cannot choose any options. Simply enter a name and start playing! You can create Pink Bean on Reboot World!

Pink Bean has certain limitations compared to other jobs:

• You can play Pink Bean until June 15. After this date, the character will be deleted and you will not be able to play it anymore.
• You cannot trade with other characters. You cannot use the storage, trade function, delivery system, free market, auction house, meso market, etc.
• You cannot pick up items that other characters drop.
• You cannot buy items in the Cash Shop or receive gifts from others.
• You can collect Mileage but you cannot settle it on Pink Bean, you have to log in on another character to settle.
• You will not receive party experience when partying with other jobs. You will only receive party experience when partying with other Pink Beans.
• You will be treated as adventurer warriors for quests.
• You cannot use certain content and systems:
  • You cannot use Star Planet.
  • You cannot use Part-Time Jobs.
  • You cannot marry.
  • You can join guilds but you cannot create one nor can you be transferred guild master.
  • You cannot learn professions.
  • You cannot use Black Heaven.
  • You cannot use Heroes of Maple.
  • You cannot complete Helisium related quests.
  • You cannot participate in Urus.

Pink Bean’s Secret Diary

While playing your Pink Bean, you can complete various challenges in your Pink Bean’s Secret Diary to receive prizes on both your Pink Bean and other characters in the same world.

There are 30 missions separated into 10 categories. After completing a mission, you will instantly receive prizes on your Pink Bean which cannot be traded or dropped. You can then log on to another character to redeem a Maple ID prize.

If you complete all 30 missions, you’ll receive a final prize: a title that gives 10 all stats, 5 attack and magic attack, and 10% boss damage.

Pink Bean’s Giftbox

If you can reach level 100 on your Pink Bean before June 15, you can receive Pink Bean’s Giftbox on one character on your Maple ID. This can be opened for the following items:

• Pink Bean Transformation Potion (permanent)
• Pink Bean’s Experience Potion (can be used to reach level 120) [Reboot world characters will receive 130 million mesos instead]
• Pink Bean’s Personality Growth Potion

All of the items above are untradeable but the box itself is tradeable through the account once.

Game Related

The Boss Arena content has been removed and is no longer available. Characters inside will be able to use the portal to leave but they cannot enter again.

An error where you could not attack after using a bind skill on Devil Balrog has been fixed.

An error where your pet would not automatically use potions if you were hit by multiple monster attacks at once has been fixed.

An error where certain monsters inside Mu Lung Dojo would be pushed back when taking damage over a certain number has been fixed.

Elite Monsters and Elite Bosses will no longer use the Magnet skill.

An error where clearing Normal Zakum 2 times would not let you queue for Chaos Zakum in the Boss Matching system has been fixed.

 An error where Paladin’s Elemental Charge‘s damage reduction did not apply to certain attacks has been fixed.

 Night Lord and Shadower’s Shadow Partner and Dual Blade’s Mirror Imaging‘s cast delays have been decreased.

 An error where Shadowers/Dual Blades who avoided % HP attacks in Dark Sight which was activated by Advanced Dark Sight did not have it removed has been fixed.

 Shadower’s Pickpocket will now cause only your own attacking skills to create coins.

 An error where Dual Blade’s Asura‘s effect would intermittently continue after the skill duration had ended has been fixed.

 An error where Archmage (F/P), Archmage (I/L), and Bishop’s Infinity‘s buff icon would not appear instantly has been fixed.

 In certain content, using Viper’s Time Leap will now allow you to receive the effects of Bishop’s Heaven’s Door and Aran’s Adrenaline Boost again.

 An error where Captain’s Summon Crew would intermittently disappear when changing maps after summoning has been fixed.

 An error where Cannon Shooter’s Oak Barrel Roulette‘s buff icon would intermittently not appear after being used has been fixed.

 An error where using multiple skills at once including Aran’s Maha’s Domain would cause skills to be invisible has been fixed.

 An error where Evan’s Magic Debris and Flame Wizard’s Orbital Flame were considered physical property attacks has been fixed.

 An error where Phantom’s Pray of Aria and Misfortune Protection did not stack with stolen Pirate Style has been fixed.

 An error where EunWol’s Soul Division on Elite Monsters would create a spirit with a different name than the existing monster has been fixed.

 An error where EunWol’s Spirit Bond Maximum‘s duration would be extended after looting other items has been fixed. An error where looting the Liver item would extend Spirit Bond Maximum’s duration but Lang would disappear has been fixed.

 An error where Demon Slayer’s Demon Trace would not activate after being used when there were no monsters in range has been fixed.

 An error where Wild Hunter’s Jaguar Soul would not cause monsters to receive resistance to binding skills has been fixed.

 When using Homing Missile in Mechanic’s Metal Armor: Tank Mode, if the missile is in the air and the marked monster dies, it will no longer find another target.

 An error where Xenon’s Pinpoint Rocket would be affected by Dispel even though it is an On/Off skill has been fixed.

 Kaiser’s Dragon Slash‘s damage changes when used in Final Figuration state will now be displayed in the skill description.

 An error where you would have to either cancel Kaiser’s Final Figuration or the Overpass Ring in order to receive the damage ignore/damage reflect ignoring effects has been fixed.

 An error where Kinesis’ Psychic Over‘s Psychic Point related effects and its maximum damage cap increasing effects would have different durations has been fixed.

Cash Shop

Every Friday during this event (April 22, April 29, May 6, May 13), the 13th Anniversary Additional Cube Pack will be sold for 48,000 Cash. It contains 20 Additional Cubes and a 30% Epic Additional Potential Scroll Voucher.

From now until May 18, the 11th Anniversary Hat Box and the 12th Anniversary Celebration Box will be sold for 1,000 Cash each. You can open them to receive a random hat (or a cape with the 12th Anniversary Box).

Also, from May 5 to May 18, they will be 50% off!

A new item has been added to the Cash Shop called the Gold Apple. It is very similar to other gachapon type items like Epi’s Box and Pandora’s Box.

You can buy them in a set of 5 (2,700 Cash), 15 (7,800 Cash), 50 (25,000 Cash) or 100 (48,000 Cash).

When you open a Gold Apple, you’ll get two items. The first will be a a regular game item, and if you’re lucky, it’ll be something special like a Magnificent soul, level 145 weapon, or the Crystal Ball Chair.

But honestly, don’t count on it, there’s a 2.37% chance of getting a special item haha.

The second item you’ll get is a Gold Apple Piece, which you can collect and trade in for items.
