Again, another small test server patch has been released. This one includes some more additions to the Soul Collector book and some optimization.
I guess we really aren’t going to get any information about the summer update until the Hi-Five showcase on the 26th…

Uncompleted Sudden Missions will now only decrease your daily limit if you have begun to complete them. (e.g. if you afk and receive some Sudden Missions and they time out, you won’t have your daily limit decreased anymore).
The time it takes to enter maps has been decreased.
The data loading speed before logging into a character has been increased, allowing faster access to Maple World.
The skill effect transparency setting has been changed to not affect certain skills.
- Important ‘install’ skills during party play will no longer become transparent.
- Other Evan players’ Mir will become translucent instead of transparent while using Dragon skills.
The following SEED related bugs have been fixed:
- An error where you would sometimes not be teleported to the starting point after falling on the 4th floor has been fixed.
- An error where certain Aura skills applied on the 14th floor has been fixed.
Skill Related
The following bugs have been fixed:
- An error where Shadower’s Assassinate and Demon Avenger’s Exceed skills would sometimes not consume MP or HP when hitting monsters has been fixed.
- An error where Angelic Burster’s Pink Scud would not move smoothly has been fixed.
- An error where skills with cooldowns would not have cooldown reduction effects apply properly after having their cooldowns reset has been fixed.
Item Related
The Golden Hammer can now be used on the following (previously disallowed) items:
- Horntail Pendant
- Chaos Horntail Pendant
- Mystic Horntail Pendant

I don’t understand why KMS doesn’t release these “small change/optimization” updates that they release to the official server in a larger single patch;instead of a bunch of small/boring patches. It doesn’t make sense to keep releasing these very tiny patches without either releasing these changes in larger spurts or content along side these changes, since these type of patches take away the importance that a server patch normally has. Normally, a server patch is supposed to add something significant to the game, such as new areas, storylines, characters, items, skill changes, among other forms of content. However, in these last few months the patches KMS has been releasing are nothing, but server tweaks, and maintenance solutions..While, some of these fixes are good, they don’t deserve a patch completely devoted to them. In fact small patches like this one show that KMS is either lazy, stalling for time or both. I am not asking for super big patches with an absurd amount of content, rather I’m saying that KMS should release these changes with other content, or all together.
But, any who I hope that the summer patch for KMS finally ends this dry spell and adds something interesting to the game and not more boring tweaks.
Shut up. A steady stream of bug fixes is much better than waiting weeks for them.
The optimization is good as it allows the game to run at a faster pace. While a steady stream of bug fixes are fine and dandy since some of them can be detrimental.However, they shouldn’t be one of the patches highlights, they should be added along side actual new content.
I am not sure if KMS has server checks every week like GMS does. But some of the bug fixes (particularly the game breaking ones) should be done during a server maintenance or something of the sort instead of being released after a patch gets out of the test server.
Look, if I remember correctly, Pink bean round 2 in Kms is due to end June 20th(someone politely correct me if I’m wrong.) So as much as we are all have the hype and anxiety of 5th job, we have stay calm. Nexon is making the game in better quality so as to ensure that the coming content will have little to no problems. No point to playing an unplayable game. Just wait a week, we are almost there.
Further more, we can now get longer duration and better damage from the Root abyss souls, something that people have been wanting for a while now. On top of that, the easy-to-get Hilla and Zakum souls can now be enhanced- I’ve been waiting for this, stocking up on my shards.
These patches are beyond important for people to actually enjoy things. Optimization SHOULD NOT be a second thought. That’s what cheap companies do, and see what happens. They lose players because they are sick of having a glitched game. So for a rare case, Nexon is actually doing something good. They fix things, which is rare.
That is definitely an opinion. However, I believe that is the opinion that ruined the game to begin with. Nexon has an issue with adding or changing content in general. When they make changes they create bugs and glitches and exploits. By making large patches they were releasing plethora of demon code that plagued us over the years. It’s much easier to narrow down to the problem when you’re dealing with a smaller amount of data. Everyone’s life would be easier if they took small baby steps including their own worker’s lives. No one likes getting paid once every 3 months. How about a paycheck every two weeks and quarterly or bi-annual bonuses. Know what I mean?
The events are lame, more generic box collecting and checkins. I’m starved for some new content here. Haven’t had anything since damien came out, like 4 month ago.
I love the optimization work being done, it took me less than 3 minutes to get from game start to my character, and switching maps takes less than a second now with no hang on black screen now, but there’s gotta be some actual fucking content being put in soon. I really hope the summer patches aren’t all just optimization, and offer something new. Bring back another classic area already, c’mon. I’d love to see omega sector even if they haven’t done anything to it. That place is great.

can we get more details on the mini-events going on?
Max tends to post event info when the proper patch comes out because a lot of the time, stuff on the test server is expedited and boxes have higher drop rates, multiple attendances can be done in a day, etc.
But i’ll give you a quick rundown just to sate your curiosity.
The event cluster is called (as well as I can figure it) The Sun Shines Brightly event. (Makes sense, the new login screen, or one of them at least is a player sitting in the GMS sun chair, backdrop is nihal desert)
First up is an attendance checkin. you know the drill. Only this time instead of 300 it’s 2000. It goes on for fourteen days and the rewards are mostly the same stuff as usual. Some flames, a master cubes, some traces, pendant of the spirit.
Next is a box event, surprisingly without coins to accomodate it. Regular and elite monsters drop it, but I will say with three days of attendance checking i’ve not had a single regular mob drop a box, but I get a box from elites 100% of the time. But that’s probably something that’ll be changed up a bit in live. The box has experience, mileage, and a random item. I’ve gotten from 100 spell traces, to a strange cube, to an innocence 50 for the item bit. Experience is based on level, and I got 40-60 mileage from the 20 or so boxes I personally opened.
Lastly is the extra stuff that’s been changed around for the event.
Runes have a reduced cooldown after activation, and give 200% experience buff.
Burning fields hold their level twice as long while you’re training in them, and when you’re not in them, they raise two levels at once instead of one.
Double experience from flame wolf.
Something about sudden missions, lowered cooldown, and I think you have twice as many every day. Combined with the new fix for AFK sudden missions not eating up your daily count is pretty cool.
And monster park on sunday can be accessed for free all 7 times.
Obviously that’s probably wrong somewhere in there but that’s the best I can do.

All of that looks good, you can also get the boxes from completing Sudden Missions.
I can’t believe they’re doing an attendance check that requires you to kill 2k monsters LMAO. Like honestly, screw that.
I’ll still take 2000 mob attendance checks over more haste events. 90,000 mobs in two weeks? that’s like 6500 mobs a day.
I actually didn’t mind the Haste event, it gave insane exp and it was really easy to finish in a couple of hours if you just joined a party to do it! Meanwhile this attendance event is gonna suck since no one parties for those and the rewards aren’t as good (IMO).

Yeah the other person is right, that’s the only event they’ve added and I assume it’s the only ‘content’ we’ll be getting when this patch hits the real server (I think June 20). 😦

I’d recommend you check the official nexon NA forums.I’m sure they’ll steal a translated message from max and post it as an official announcement of localization soon, don’t worry. They had a meeting with a bunch of GMS players (by which I mean the 10 that aren’t bots)
Really though, and jokes aside, they would have announced it by now. Game’s flopping in china AND korea, there’s little to no hope it’ll make it to the west. Not that I can understand why anyone would want it, it’s super generic and you can get the same experience from almost any other action RPG. Go look up any videos of the content of maple 2, and besides not being able to find anything newer than zakum in terms of endgame content, you’ll find that the gameplay is actually really shallow, and has even worse skinnerbox nonsense than maple 1. You can’t even reroll the potentials on items you get, so if you get a great orange, but it has shitty potential lines, that’s it, you’re screwed and better get back to grinding.
Seeing as MS2 is bombing in both China and Korea, I REALLY doubt that Nexon NA will localize the game this point in time..

Hey, Max. I’ve read a lot of forum discussion about this change over on Insoya, so I think something significant happened with the skill. Do you think you could maybe find a video (I’ve tried looking on Daum, Youku, YouTube, etc) about this change or if you have a 2nd job or higher Angelic Burster, a quick video from you about it?
