  • You can meet Lucid when you reach the top floor of the Clocktower of Nightmares, by completing the Lacheln area quests.

Lucid is a level 230 boss, people on Insoya have calculated that her first phase has 14.5 trillion HP. She has 300% PDR and requires 360 Arcane Force (THAT’S CRAZY).

Lucid has two phases. In the first one, she sits on a flower and uses a variety of skills on you. There’s a few summons, a flower attack very similar to Damien’s sword slash, giant dream scythes, and bullet hell butterfly balls.

In phase 2, Lucid teleports everyone to another map where she flies around.

You can see a video of the fight here!

Hey Max, I went back to the 5th job post, and noticed that you added the animations for MOST of 5th job skills, but I can’t help but notice a few are missing *cough*Evan’s Elemental Blast*Cough*
Any reason you left those out? Is it a WIP?
Or did you forget to finish? Were there Technical issues?
Or if you got them from somwhere else, could you point me the way?
(Although since you didn’t cite/credit your source, you’re probably still self-extracting)

I’m guessing that the Arcane Shade sets are acquired from beating the Touhou-lite fairy? Joy to the world.

Also that young Lucid… makes me wonder what happened to her.

If you’ll notice, it was the strongest it ever was in the test server RIGHT before it went live.
      … That is, until now.

    • August 11, 2016 at 7:49 pm

Since she has command over dreams, isn’t it possible that she’s still frozen?

Frozen for hundreds of years but still conscious, that might explain why she turned evil.

My buddy Neo is on to it- because if you do some of the Shadow Perion stuff, you would know that she has yet another sprite, and something about her being asleep as the ‘Transcendent(this part is probably poor translation on GMS) of dreams, and that she is supposed to be asleep until someone takes her place.’
Regardless of GMS translation confusion, what is certain is the Black Mage gets ahold of her, and strikes a deal- freedom in exchange for an alliance/friendship. She’s not really as ‘Evil,’ as the others.

She is probably the one commander I feel for the most. Everyone else so far was so focused on greed. Hilla, Arkahuim, Magnus, Gelimer, Damien. Von Leon, Orchid, and Lotus had other reasons, but they weren’t really put in such a corner. And then who knows why the Spider king really joined?

honestly the new set will be good if it has top/bottom instead of overall, only need to go up to 5 set to maintain the same set stats as RA set. namely hat, top, bottom, weapon, shoulder for the set with out breaking tyrant or gollux set

    • Anonymous
      August 12, 2016 at 11:46 pm

you have to remember that KMS does not have gollux set. Also they can be star force up to 25 stars in KMS.

  19. Randomcity2
    August 12, 2016 at 12:20 am

After checking the stats of the weapons on uni’s blog, all I can say is that this is quite sad TT.TT
The Arcane Shade Set loses to cRA + 15 star tyrants in just raw stats, even before comparing the whole top + bottom vs overall thing by 50 all stat more for using the complete arcane shade but you get around 120 attack more for using cRA + 15 star tyrants assuming both sets are primed and everything is 15 stars as per the current GMS cap. Wins by a good bit in KMS due to over 15 stars, but in GMS this sadly loses by a landslide as 50 all stat just won’t beat over 100 attack / magic attack extra no matter what your potentials are for any class. If NexonNA looks at your comment section, then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let the damned thing use the transpose system from Sweetwater or just give some freaking over 15 star cap or nebulites plus the additional options system at the same time so we can match and beat the power of perfect cRA + Tyrants with the new set. PLEASE.

      • Randomcity2
        August 12, 2016 at 5:20 am

Ok …Lets do this thing. . .super long matchup: START

(going to count stats as all stat cause its all equal amounts of stats whenever it has multiple stats)

Root Abyss Set Effect: 20 All Stat, 50 Attack, 1000 HP, 10% HP, 30% Boss Damage.
Root Abyss Hat: 210 All Stat, 2 Attack , 615 HP, 10% ignore def
Root Abyss Top: 160 All Stat, 2 Attack, 255 HP, 5% ignore def
Root Abyss Bottom: 160 All Stat, 2 Attack, 255 HP, 5% ignore def
Root Abyss Two-Handed Weapon: 110 All Stat, 374 Attack, 255 HP, 10% ignore def, 30% boss
Tyrant Boots: 205 All Stat, 180 Attack
Tyrant Gloves: 167 All Stat, 165 Attack, 300 HP
Tyrant Cloak: 205 All Stat, 180 Attack
Meister Shoulder (most commonly used one in my opinion): 83 All Stat, 9 Attack, 255 HP

Total Stats of Root Abyss + Tyrants: 1320 All Stat, 964 Attack, 2935 HP, 10% HP, 30% ignore def (actually 26.8975% if only sources of %ignore def), 60% boss damage

        Arcane Shade Set Effect: 50 All Stat, 195 Attack, 2000 HP, 30% HP, 20% ignore def (10% + 10%), 30% boss Damage
Arcane Shade Hat: 235 All Stat,7 Attack, 255 HP, 15% ignore def
Arcane Shade Overall: 265 All Stat, 9 Attack, 255 HP, 10% ignore def
Arcane Shade Boots: 170 All Stat, 9 Attack
Arcane Shade Gloves: 170 All Stat, 15 Attack
Arcane Shade Cape: 165 All Stat, 6 Attack, 255 HP
Arcane Shade Shoulder: 105 All Stat, 20 Attack, 255 HP
Arcane Shade Two-Handed Weapon: 170 All Stat, 540 Attack, 255 HP, 20% ignore def, 30% boss damage

Total Stats of Arcane Shade Set: 1330 All Stat, 801 Attack, 3275 HP, 30% HP, 65% ignore def (50.428% if only sources of %ignore def),60% boss damage

Conclusion: +10 All Stat, –163 Attack, +340 HP, +20% HP, +35% ignore def (+23.5305% ignore def if only sources of %ignore def) for using the full Arcane Shade Set instead of cRA + Tyrants . . . . yeah . . .not happening.

Tis a sad, sad day folks. We need over 15 Stars OR allowance of nebulites + the additional options system at the same time OR giving the Arcane Shade Set the ability to transpose like Sweetwater Set does or else this will be the second and likely last equipment set released that loses out to a set released years before it simply because NexonNA decided we don’t need over 15 stars since we never had Miraculous Equip Enhancement Scrolls released and they’re afraid to give too much power compared to MapleSEA and EMS who both released over 15 stars and additional Options (though nebulites are supposed to replace them, inferior in some respects but greater overall due to choice, amount of items, and stats / skills not available to additional options system).

        • August 12, 2016 at 5:23 pm

You know that the 35%+ ignore defense alone is enough to do more damage than whatever that can supply 160ATT/MATT from the Tyrants (specially with mages), right? We’re talking about 250 defense mobs and 300 defense bosses, and 35%+ ignore defense can easily increase your output 12%+ at this point (whereas 160ATT/MATT shouldn’t increase your range more than some 8%, to afterwards being reduced by the titanic defenses).

Also there is the fact that you don’t even need to wear the whole set to get benefits from it (and frankly speaking getting the whole sets might take your life as well). The Weapon, Hat and Shoulder are BIS by a massive range, whereas the gloves are far easier to get more powerful considering the price/availability of Tyrants Gloves and thus how hard is to get them to 15 Stars. The Overall is half as cheaper to scroll/cube as well for a minimal lose compared to perfected scrolled/cubbed CRA Top/Bottom.

Also in our Reboot the Arcane Set is just plain superior all whatsoever for the practical impossibility of getting Tyrants over 12 stars aside the Cape (and finishing the Arcane Set is stronger than preserving the Cape). We don’t have scrolling and perfectly cubbing CRA Top/Bottom is far more complicated, thus making even the Arcane Overall superior for most instances (specially if it will complete a 4-5 or 7 set bonus).

We also don’t know if GMS will add another potential tier as well.

        • Randomcity2
          August 12, 2016 at 7:26 pm

After thinking about it some more, you could swap out the cape for a tyrant and use 6 set as a normal class to come out maybe equal to or maybe better and swap out the hat for a transposed 24 30% hp scrolled aquarius crown to Sweetwater hat and have a definite gain over cRA + tyrants without ever blowing your money on enhancing tyrants to 15 stars.

          • Randomcity2
            August 12, 2016 at 8:33 pm

after even more thought, you non DA classes could do 5 set arcane shade using tyrant boots and cape for a 122 attack gain and 85 all stat gain (assuming all primes) for normal classes and finally ditch the tyrant glove and top + bottom while making a gain, but full 7 set is a loss without over 15 star or something to make up.

      • Randomcity2
        August 12, 2016 at 5:39 am

Over 15 stars adds tyrant like stats to non superior items which allows those gloves, shoes and boots from the arcane shade set to match and beat their tyrant equivalents almost when directly compared, but for sure win when entire set is used. Considering stars give stats based on item level in KMS, i should likely even cover the loss of an extra item to potential.

    • Abs
      August 12, 2016 at 5:01 am

Please take into consideration that the new set is available for enhancement up to 25 stars.

We simply don’t have enough information to decide if CRA+tyrants will continue to be better. There is only speculation.

We need more information on what happens to the potential tiers of a lvl 200 equip. Will there be a tier 5 potential? Eg. A legendary lvl 150 eq can achieve 13% each line for 3 lines. Does a legendary lvl 200 eq achieve more than that? such as potentially 16-18% per line.

Again, same thing, what happens when an equipment achieves 20 stars, and beyond that, how much WA/MA does it add? What about the amount of stats? You see we don’t have that information.

Apart from that, how accessible is this set going to be; will it be available drops from mobs that are lvl 200 above? Much Like Pensalir or is it going to be like Absolabs which u have to accumulate from boss drops. From the way it seems, evidently, it’s going to incline towards a boss-like eq drop like Absolabs.

Now, take a step back and think, how many % of the population (of maplers) are actually able to kill Lotus every week? Extrapolate this to Damien and this new boss, how many people can actually make this happen. Think about this.

We haven’t seen the end of extra equipments yet.

Besides, if Black Mage is coming, do you not think that there might be a lvl 200 superior item set that is incoming? possibly enhancing up to 20 stars?

So basically we get a new shoulder out of this set and nothing else?

    • August 12, 2016 at 2:09 am

The Shoulder, Weapon and Hat are always BIS everywhere (Best In Slot). In KMS Reboot it is not just BIS but overwhelming broken, in KMS’ Normal Servers and GMS’ Reboot it is also BIS by a fairly big margin.

In GMS Normal Servers it is a big whole of depends, though. For most players the set would mean a fairly big upgrade, but for the most funded of players it depends. A CRA Top/Bottom with 6 perfect lines and perfectly scrolled is sightly superior to the Arcane Overall, whereas any Tyrant 14+ Stars and transposed into Sweetwater is superior by an extremely slim margin to their Arcane counterparts, but anything inferior to those specifications is significantly inferior to a equivalent Arcane equipment, and this is specially fairly common with the Tyrant Gloves. The Arcane Overall also has the small benefit that it is cheaper to cube than CRA Top/Bottom, so it might be cheaper at the FM to get a Legendary Arcane Overall rather both Legendary CRA Top/Bottom given enough time.

    Hi Max,
    I had two questions:
    1) How many stars can each equip obtain in the lvl 200 set?
    2) is the first weapon shown the Polearm of the set? Thanks 🙂
I guess I could also ask if the potential that can be obtained on lvl 200 set is tier 4 or if it’s a new tier (Tier 5) but that may be to technical and you may not know haha. Thanks anyways! Take care

    • Max
      August 12, 2016 at 12:50 am

      1) 25 stars.
      2) Nope, it’s the one-handed axe. You can look at the file names to clarify, for the most part they’re just named the type of weapon they are.
      3) KMS doesn’t even have tier 4 potential

      August 12, 2016 at 12:51 am

I’m not big on the math but based on what others have said, it might be worth it to use some parts like the hat and shoulder but the lack of top + bot means you lose out on a lot of potential stats. And I think if you use the whole set, you lose some of the Tyrant equipment as well.

      • Ac2
        August 12, 2016 at 1:18 am

Well in gms you double the pot stat for overs due to using 2 slots. You could also factor in the much needed upgrade slots in to the equation to make up for the 3 Tys lost.

KMS does not even have Tier 4 for potentials, so the potentials are capped at LV100 there. Now if at GMS we’re going to get another tier or not is an open question, hopefully yes.

    • Max

Its pretty much the same as Suu/Damien, you need 10 Arcane River Drip Stones (tradeable) from daily quests and 1 Butterfly Wings Drip Stones (untradeable) from Lucid to make 1 Fantasma Coin. I’ll add this information + costs of each item to the post 🙂

    • acitro593
      August 12, 2016 at 11:05 am

Well at this point it’s hard to say, this set has 25 stars, while Cra/tyrants have 15 ea; plus you have more upgrade slots. At this point we would have to compare a perfect Arcane set and a perfect Cra/tyrant (not including the belt, due to Arcane not having one). Also while Cra/Tyrant has 163 more attack, Arcane has more 35% Def Ignore. At this point it’s more preference then actually choosing what is better, and it will take a while to make a perfect Arcane set if people are willing to get rid of working to a perfect Cra/tyrant set

      • EvanAndMir
        August 12, 2016 at 11:22 am

Wearing the entire set is a loss for anyone class in GMS if you have 15 tyrants, but mixing and matching can come out as a win. Scarlet shoulder + chaos vellum helm and 200 set weapon + cRA top + bottom + tyrant boot + tyrant cape + tyrant glove (could transpose tyrants, css back the 5 slots and do more scrolls + get 3 set SW for 55 more attack and some all stat) is one option. Or replace tyrant glove with arcane shade glove, and go 5 set arcane shade using tyrant boot and cape, or as demon avenger use 6 set but replace hat with aquarius crown transposed to SW, or just use a tyrant cape and keep the arcane shade hat if you don’t like being 149 attack short of using cRA + 3 / 4 tyrants. Mixing is good . .full set bad . . for GMS unless we get over 15 star limit or something like that to give tyrant like stats to non superior equipment.

      August 12, 2016 at 8:02 pm

There’s like a ton of them and for the most part, it’s not really useful but if you want, I can add them in later.

Well, I was just mainly wondering if there was a common increase to the skills that would make them useful.

(I’d like to see the specific skills that were increased tho…if you can add them over time that would be nice, no rush and thanks again :D)

All the equips are tradeable until equipped, and after that you can PSOK them.

    Quoting on Max Post..
“I gues currently there is no way to get the Hat/Overalls/Shoulderpad?”

    Hmm, i guess there is!
Seems like they are going to do like Lotus / Damien style all over again (Which sucks), where Lotus Absolab Store sells Weapon Cape Glove Shoes, and Damien Stigma Coin Store sells Weapon Hat Overall Shoulders =w= .

Hence, there’s a much tougher boss coming out after Lucid I guess =w=

So… is there still an event drought going on? Like, new content is great and all (if you have the range for it) but I’d really love to hear about the limited time events and medal you can get :p

    • Anonymous
      August 14, 2016 at 2:52 am

max doesn’t typically talk about events in KMST notes as they not only change from tespia to live, they’re usually heavily modified for the purposes of testing.time events where you hold something for x amount of time is usually changed to 1 minute, and other stuff like that is also changed.

      • tomertop
        August 14, 2016 at 3:20 am

I get that, but I’m interested in the themes of the events, rewards and… sweet, juicy medals…
I don’t care much about what it’ll take to compleye it (plus it may change anyway from KMS to GMS anyway)

          August 14, 2016 at 7:48 am

KMST doesn’t include events, but only changes to the game. If you want to know more about the events for this, you might want to wait for a week or two when they release this content into the real server, aka KMS.

Surely the new event will come out ,it’s like Nihal desert trade game, but this time it’s cooking in Chewchew Island. (I can’t read Korean, this is my asumption)

How are free to play users supposed to fight against these end game bosses?

    • Anonymous
      August 14, 2016 at 8:37 pm

well, meso market is a good start, crafting cubes and flames is good, mileage cubes work just dandy, fairy bros rewards, killing bosses, completing sudden missions, doing poloprito portals all have a chance to drop higher tier craftable cubes. Oh and elite bosses too.

Really, it’s easy. You just have to play the game instead of whining how you can’t beat anything because you don’t play the game.

This set if primed and starforced can really challenge CRA because of the huge difference in att on the weapons and the huge set boost. However the CRA set edges it out because it allows the use of dojo and tyrant gloves. This set is still a viable option for people who don’t want to spend too much money enhancing tyrants however it needs to be primed or at least use 15% spell trace.

You won’t be able to get this set in the first place without having heavily enhanced Tyrants (12+ stars). A partial set is still better for even the most funded players with 15 star Tyrants, which means they are going to want to get those pieces first before ever putting 1 of them on the market. If Lucid is once a week and only drops 1 coin, that means 5 months for the weapon, 3 months for the hat, and 3 months for the shoulder. So it will nearly be 1 year before any clean pieces will hit the market.

And what makes you think clean pieces on the market won’t cost an arm and a leg to get?
The earliest CRA pieces on the market were sold for cold USD, and that was when bosses used to drop the pieces directly instead of having to farm the boss for 24 weeks to buy a weapon from the coin shop.

What is the new hit box for the Mihile’s Deadly Charge and Thunder Breaker’s Gale/Typhoon?

Also Lucid takes losing with a smile on her face. “Well played.”

    • Max
      August 16, 2016 at 10:51 pm

Hit boxes are the same, just the animations have been resized to match them.

This video shows Typhoon’s vertical hit box has been increased by a lot since it can hit things on the high platforms.

This shows what the vertical hitbox was before which was very tiny.

What’s exactly the meaning of “skill effect has been adjusted to match the attack range”?
Does the skill have a new animation?

    • Max
      August 16, 2016 at 10:50 pm

It just means before, the effect was either smaller or bigger than the actual attack range so they just adjusted it to match.

Umm . .. I can’t find a pic, so can some demon avenger from KMS tell me how much hp is added by an arcane symbol level 1 and and how much per level up?

    • Max
      August 17, 2016 at 11:18 am

I think it starts with 4000 HP and increases by 1450 HP per level up.

        August 31, 2016 at 3:14 pm

After playing “I Spy” on insoya’s demon avenger forum i managed to find the correct values, which you got wrong, by calculating off 2 differnt pics. I saw a lvl 3 arcane symbol with 7000 hp and a lvl 7 + lvl 1 giving 16800 hp. Calculating based off these two values I managed to spot in the background of pictures of some equips that had lvl 5 – 7 additional options for hp or attack on weapons, I got 4200 as lvl one and 1400 added per level as correct info, but thaks for trying .. But seriously . .can you get me a picture of a 25 star weapon please?

          August 31, 2016 at 3:36 pm

though . . the amounts make me question whether or not this is item Hp, as its values are based around pure hp +100 rather than item hp +100 . .. .

Same tier as all lvl 70+ equips
