The second patch of the MapleStory Assemble update has been released, featuring the new HEXA Matrix Ascent skills! There’s also some QoL changes and a few additional events.

We should be expecting the next KMST patch on August 7, with the new boss, the First Adversary!

Overview

HEXA Skills – Ascent Skills

A new power, Ascent skills have been added. Ascent Skills have the following properties.

  • Ascent skills can be used a set number of times in a boss battle with no cooldown.
    • Ascent skills can be used 3 times in a boss battle.
    • In all other maps, Ascent skills will have a 240 second cooldown when used.
  • Ascent skills can only be used when the boss monster with the highest max HP is attackable.
  • Ascent skills will not activate additional hits or effects that activate when your direct attacks hit a enemy.
  • Ascent skills will prioritize attacking the boss monster with the highest max HP, and they will deal damage even if the enemy is using Damage Reflect or Damage Ignore.
  • Ascent skills’ level 10/20/30 defense ignore and boss damage effects are applied additively to the base effects.
  • Ascent skills’ damage is not affected by stat increases from the following effects.
    • Equipment: Hat
    • Equipment: Ring
    • Passive skill effects that activate under certain conditions
    • Active skill use effects
    • Monsters’ elemental properties
    • Monsters’ patterns and debuffs
    • Consumable/Cash items with less than 30 minute duration

NOTE: I used APNG format for these skill effects since they’re so big and detailed. They are usually animated if you open them in a browser that supports them. However, it seems like randomly some work and some don’t, even if I reupload them.

I don’t really know how to troubleshoot and I don’t want to spend more time to fix them, so I suggest looking them up on YouTube. This is also better because most Ascent skills have additional effects/character actions in-game that can’t be seen in a single animation.

      The electric current discharges and Extreme Speed Lightnings have an additional 60% defense ignore, 40% boss damage, 100% critical rate.

The following changes have been made to Sharenian’s Demon Arcanus.

  • The maximum number of stages has been increased from 6 to 7. The 7th stage has increased HP, defenses, and damage required to get 1 point.

  • The time from when the Guardian Angel Slime is summoned until the Guardian Wave pattern starts has been decreased from 150 seconds to 90 seconds.
  • It has been improved so that the time remaining before the Guardian Wave pattern starts is displayed intuitively.
  • The number of Magma Stone Slimes required to seal a Holy Gate has been decreased from 3 to 2.
  • The Ground Smash pattern’s attack range has been decreased by about 54%. (This is the blue attack that knocks you back.)
  • It has been improved so that if the Guardian Wave pattern starts while the Guardian Ray pattern is happening, the Guardian Ray pattern will be cancelled. (These are the lasers that stun you if you are hit by them.)

Kaling (Story)

Baldrix (Normal/Hard)

  • In Phase 2, the Absorbing Magic pattern’s cooldown has been increased by 35%.
  • In Phase 2, the Surging Magic pattern’s cooldown has been increased by about 33%.
  • In Phase 2, the Absorbing Magic pattern’s character pull effect range has been decreased by 25%.
  • In Phase 3, Ragnarok’s cooldown has been increased from 120 seconds to 125 seconds. (This is when you swap dimensions.)

Twilight Eve Festival

[Hunting Event] Joyful Oasis

Find the oasis and acquire experience.

Event Participation Requirements:

  • A level 101 or higher character (or a Zero character that has completed story quest Chapter 2) that has participated in the ‘[Cooperation Event] Awakening Power of Time’ event.

Event Period:

  • July 17, 2025 after the maintenance ~ August 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

After selecting the ‘[Twilight Eve Festival] Simplified Event Start’ in the Event List and clicking the ‘Participate’ button to start the Twilight Eve Festival events, you will acquire the ‘Oasis Discovery’ skill.

When you enter a hunting ground with monsters within your level range, the ‘Oasis Discovery’ skill will be automatically activated. As you defeat monsters within your level range, you will fill up the gauge.

When you defeat 250 monsters within your level range, the gauge will be filled and ‘Joyful Oasis’ will be activated. You will acquire experience then Seya will jump into the oasis and attack nearby enemies.

※ If you use all 30 ‘Oasis Discovery’ activations per day per character, the skill will be deactivated.

※ You can deactivate the ‘Oasis Discovery’ skill by right-clicking the skill icon in the skill window. If the skill is deactivated, it will remain deactivated until midnight or until you right-click the skill to activate it again. If you disconnect and reconnect, the deactivated skill will be reactivated.

※ You can right-click the skill icon in the UI to select ‘Joyful Oasis’ skill’s Auto or Manual Use Mode.

※ The ‘Oasis Discovery’ skill will only activate in maps with monsters within your level range. It will not activate in maps where there is a level 4 Rune debuff or other special maps (Mirror World, story quest maps, etc.).

※ The ‘Oasis Discovery’ skill is affected by experience increasing effects and the death penalty experience reduction effect.

※ When you acquire experience from the ‘Joyful Oasis’ skill, the Rune experience buff will be applied even if you do not currently have a Rune released.

※ Experience acquired through ‘Joyful Oasis’ can only level you up 1 time.

※ Monsters defeated by ‘Joyful Oasis’ will not accumulate the 250 monsters required for the next skill activation.

[Hunting Event] Evernia Trader King

Grandis’ famous Alpaca Merchants have come to Evernia. Start trading with the Alpaca Merchants, become the trader king, and receive special rewards!

Event Participation Requirements:

  • A level 101 or higher character (or a Zero character that has completed story quest Chapter 2) that has participated in the ‘[Cooperation Event] Awakening Power of Time’ event.

Event Period:

  • July 17, 2025 after the maintenance ~ August 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

After selecting the ‘[Twilight Eve Festival] Simplified Event Start’ in the Event List and clicking the ‘Participate’ button to start all of the Twilight Eve Festival events at once.

After starting the event, you can start trading by selecting one of the 3 Alpaca Merchants in the Event List.

※ The Alpaca Merchant trade start details are shared between all characters within the Maple ID.

※ The Alpaca Merchant trade records are reset every Thursday at 12:00 AM. The number of times you can start trades weekly will not be accumulated.

※ You cannot start an Alpaca Merchant trade from Wednesday at 11:59 PM until Thursday at 12:00 AM.

Alpaca Merchant Trade

You can check the trade progress of the selected Alpaca Merchant in the Trade UI that appears in hunting maps.

After registering the selected Alpaca Merchant through the Event List and defeating 1,000 monsters within your level range, you can hold down the [Depart] button with your mouse on the UI to send off the Alpaca Merchant. After the first departure, you can [Depart] the Alpaca Merchant every time you defeat 300 monsters within your level range.

You can also [Depart] the Alpaca Merchants by pressing the NPC Chat/Harvest key when the gauge is full.

※ Only one Alpaca Merchant trade can be done at a time per character.

※ You can [Depart] each Alpaca Merchant trade up to 100 times.

※ The event progress is shared between all characters within the Maple ID. However, the number of monsters within your level range defeated is not shared between characters.

※ Monsters within your level range are monsters that are between -20 and +20 of your character’s level. The event will only progress if you defeat monsters within your level range while you are in a party of 1 or are not in a party.

※ The number of monsters within your level range defeated will not increase in the Cross World Boss Content <Dimensional Battlefield>.

※ Even if you don’t send off the Alpaca Merchant while the [Depart] pop-up UI appears, you can still do it later on by pressing the [Depart] button on the Alpaca Merchant UI.

When you [Depart] a trade, the trade stage can increase, decrease, or get lost, based on a set probability. The higher stage a trade, the more rewards you can acquire.

If the merchant gets lost, you can no longer [Depart] it.

Event Rewards

If you acquire rewards, you no longer [Depart] that Alpaca Merchant and you can register another one.

If the Merchant gets lost, you cannot acquire the rewards.

Gold Richie’s Secret Safe

Help Gold Richie open the secret safes and get your hands on incredible treasure!

Event Participation Requirements:

  • A level 260 or higher character (or a Zero character that has completed story quest Chapter 2).

Event Period:

  • Event Progress Period: July 17, 2025 after the maintenance ~ August 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM.
  • Reward Claim Period: July 17, 2025 after the maintenance ~ August 27, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

You can select the ‘Gold Richie’s Secret Safe’ event in the Event List and click the ‘Participate’ button to start the event.

After you start the event, ‘Safe Ticket Vouchers’ will drop when you hunt monsters within your level range. You can acquire up to 50 ‘Safe Ticket Vouchers’ per day per Maple ID.

※ The Safe Ticket Voucher dropped by monsters can be traded 1 time, after which they can only be put into storage.

※ The ‘Safe Ticket Voucher’ can be acquired from July 17, 2025 after the maintenance ~ August 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

When you use a ‘Safe Ticket Voucher’, you can acquire 1 Safe Ticket that can be used to enter to win from a safe.

You can enter to win prizes for the ongoing round through the ‘Golden Safe’ or ‘Diamond Safe’.

Round Progress Period

  • Gold Safe: Every day from 12:00:00 AM ~ 11:59:59 PM.
  • Diamond Safe: Every week from Thursday at 12:00:00 AM ~ Wednesday at 11:59:59 PM.

Entry Method

You can pay 10 Safe Tickets to guess the safe’s password for the current round. The password can range from 1 to 9999999, and you cannot enter the same password multiple times in a single round.

You can participate up to 15 times in a single round for each safe.

※ You can participate 15 times in the Golden Safe and 15 times in the Diamond Vault.

※ You can only participate on a single Nexon ID for each round.

※ You can only participate on a single Maple ID on the same Nexon ID for each round.

※ You can only continue to participate on the first world that you participated in during the ongoing round.

You can check your participation records through the ‘Gold Richie’s Secret Safe’ event in the Event List.

※ You can only view the participation records for the worlds you participated in.

Gold Safe Participation Rewards

You can receive participation rewards when you participate 1 time in each round of the Gold Safe. The participation rewards can be received until the end of the event period.

Winning Password Selection

After each round ends, the winning passwords will be chosen among all the passwords entered by playersThe smallest, non-duplicate numbers will become the passwords for the safe.

The number of winning passwords for each safe is as follows.

Starting from the smallest non-duplicate number, the 500 smallest numbers.Starting from the smallest non-duplicate number, the 22 smallest numbers.

※ Depending on the participation in each round, the actual number of winning passwords may be less than the numbers in the list above.

Players who guessed the correct passwords can claim their rewards through the ‘Gold Richie’s Secret Safe’ event’s help menu in the Event List.

The winning rewards can be claimed until August 27, 2025 at 11:59 PM. You can only receive the rewards on the Maple ID you participated in. You can claim the reward on a different world than the one you participated in.

Challengers World 1st Early Leap

Event Participation Requirements:

  • Level 130 or higher characters created in Challengers, Challengers 2, Challengers 3, or Challengers 4 worlds.

※ Zero characters that are level 130 or higher and have completed story quest Chapter 2 can Early Leap.

Event Period:

  • July 17, 2025 after the maintenance ~ August 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

During the event period, you can leap your characters to your desired world through the NPC Isaga in Henesys. You can select the ‘Challengers World Early Leap’ event in the Event List and click the ‘Participate’ button to move to Henesys.

※ Worlds You can Leap To: All worlds.

※ You can move a total of 5 characters to other worlds through the Challengers World Early Leap and End Leap.

  • Traces of Time, Dense Traces of Time, Challengers Coins, Advanced Challengers Coins, and Premium Coins acquired in Challengers World will not be moved with the World Leap.
  • Challengers World Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum rewards that can be acquired from Challengers World missions can only be claimed in Challengers World.
  • Rewards that can be acquired from the Challengers Pass can only be claimed in Challengers World.
  • The Challengers Pass: Special Support buff will be removed.
  • The Mystic Seal event’s equipped Seal Core stats will be removed.
  • The Peona’s Herb Basket’s skill levels will be applied based on the world you arrive in.
  • Characters with active Meso Market transactions cannot proceed with World Leap.
  • When World Leaping from Challengers World, items in the cash storage, storage, and Maple Auction will not be moved.
  • Custom Backgrounds acquired using Voucher items will not be moved.

※ Custom Backgrounds acquired using Voucher items can be extracted into Vouchers through the NPC Isaga’s ‘Extract Custom Background’ option. The acquired Voucher can only be put into storage and is permanent.

  • The Tera Burning effect applied when a character is created in Challengers World will not be transferred through World Leap.

※ The Tera Burning effect will be removed when the character is transferred, and the ‘Tera Burning Gift Giveaway!’ quest will no longer be available.

  • The Strange Cube, Karma Meister Cube, Karma Strange Additional Cube, and Karma Star Force 17 Star Enhancement Scroll (Level 160) purchased from the Challengers Shop are Challengers World-only items and you cannot World Leap while holding them.
  • The Selective Challengers Level 4 Special Skill Ring Voucher and the Special Skill Ring acquired from using it are Challengers World-only items and you cannot World Leap while holding them.
  • If a character that has cleared an Epic Dungeon uses World Leap, youc annot claim the cleared Epic Dungeon’s bonus rewards.
  • If there are no empty character slots in the world you are moving to, slots will be added before the Leap.
  • However, if you already have 50 characters in the destination world, you cannot Leap to that world.

      If you want some for your backgrounds, they’re not animated but Nexon uploaded them all as static images on their website (https://maplestory.nexon.com/Media/ArtWork -> click the Len Ascent skill image and download, the zip file contains all classes)

    They don’t want you brining the challenger world cubes back to interactive world to sell service for mesos/use cubes on your mules psoked gear they want those cubes solely kept for the use of the new character you make on challenger world….

    LAME. If they make those cubes unusable for anyone but the challenger character that made it… No one on interactiver would even bother creating a new character on challenger world to begin with lol

    Hi max, you mentioned the IED for ascent skills is additive, does that mean that a level 30 ascent skill has 100% IED for all jobs?
    unlike origin skill which was 20% and 30% multiplicatively
