MapleStory x Tower of God
A new comic has been posted on the MapleStory homepage, featuring the heroes of the Maple world and characters from the manga, Tower of God! It’s really cool, you can read it here (huge thanks to Spadow for translating it!)~
To get a little bit better understanding of what’s going on, you can read about the Crown Game, which is what the characters are participating in in the comic.
I like how the heroes are portrayed in the comic, really suave, haha. One thing I wonder is, who is that last character? His cloak looks like those of the Black Wings, but I don’t recognize his face…
Each of these matchups are one MapleStory character versus a Tower of God character, so this person should be from Maple Story. Some people speculate that it is the Black Mage, because of his chains. This is not drawn by Nexon (although they did post it on their site, they even made an event for it) but it’s still interesting to see!

The person with the blue flames is Baam (main character from Tower of God).
The person he’s fighting against is the Black Mage (chains, purple robes, similar trims, looks evil)

hmmm a lot of characters i dont recognize, the enemies and the last 2 guyz fighting, i only recognized, demon slayer, mercedes, aran, evan and phantom, i speculate the last guyz to be the last pirate hero and the boss of this tower of god while the enemies r probably sub bosses or minions

I guess it’s the Pirate Hero, since you also see all the other heroes in the comic. (+Demon Slayer :p) The chains and that other weapon would be awesome to use, even though I don’t really find it a weapon for a Pirate.
It would also be cool if it was the Black Magician himself, but the chains is the only sign that would make people think it’s the Black Mage. I don’t find the clothes Black Wings-ish.

Doub’t its a pirate since the clothes practically scream magician. I think its the black mage cause he’s the only one i can think of who has that kind of trim on his robes. The trims of the dragon rider and the black wing members are all different. Battle mages use chains but aren’t usually depicted wearing robes, it think its the black mage.
i have a question: when were the BtM created…as in…is the Black Mage a BtM?

Since it’s a Korean Manga it’s technically a Manwha, and most manwhas suck. No offense if you’re a Tower of God fan but it’s terrible.

It’s not official either, it wasn’t drawn by Nexon. So the guy made up a guy and drew him like a Black Wings member… Doesn’t mean anything, really. I’m sure it’s not supposed to hint at anything, that’s Nexon’s job.
He DOES look like the fan art that someone made on Deviant art about the pirate Hero. He has the same kind of flame in his hand and stuff… If it isn’t from the same person, than I think it is cool that he used the “pirate hero” from Deviant Art :p

Orca’s brother (or sister?) is Sue, the Black Wings member that killed Aria. He/she appears in the Phantom storyline and is defeated at the end of it.

Yuris is that P. I always thought that, since Aran came out, Yuris’ NPC name was actually Purin until I checked it out one day. However, this was after they changed Helena to Athena, so they could have changed her’s, as well.
Now since she is an elf, she can live for hundreds/thousands of years. That means that she is currently walking around the game as we speak. But Nexon never bothered to create her older self, and she is probably a super ninja gunslinger by now, too.

Phantom and Lotus have a huge similarity, and that is being completely opposite, for two that look alike. Do you think Phantom’s name is actually Phantom? Could someone who steals skills been a phantom himself, stealing the light out of Lotus? Could Phantom BE Lotus? If so, then we need another hero with their name starting with P for the M-A-P-L-E word. Purin/Yuris makes marvelous fit for that P. 🙂
Note that Athena Pierce was the ONLY elf who wasn’t sealed by the Black Mage. Hint hint; Yuris didn’t either. O_O O_O O_O

XD the pirate hero in the comic 😀 ithink it is since the pirate is the leader, and it does show it because the guy who is dancing with the black mage ( not really more like fighting) uses an energy as his weapon. Leading to the conclusion that this could be a possiblity for the pirate hero who probably possess the spirit of the transformation….. remember pirates had that removed but they do get a mount…… so could it be???
That is the 25th Baam, the hero in part one of Tower of god,
He appears in part two with the psuedonym jyu viole grace. He is uses Shinsoo(basically energy) as his weapon, and is currently the strongest person in the storyline, besides the rankers

Its korean manga so it is Manhwa and I strongly recommend trying to read it at batoto.net if you can`t read korean.

I don’t know why they bothered putting in Demon Slayer as he isn’t part of the 5 heroes. (although he is present in Luminous’ account of the battle with the Black Mage)
In addition Luminous is half light and half dark, due to him sealing the Black Mage in the battle between the 5 heroes and the Black Mage. He used to be a pure light mage but the is partially corrupted by the black mages power.
And btw, Luminous basically single handedly beats the Black Mage lol…although the black mage probably was weakened

Luminous was corrupted by the Black Mage’s magic. In the Korean version, you may play as either dark or light. However, in GMS (global maplestory) you can switch. The skills are awesome.

The last character is definitley Luminous. If you look closely at a few of those scenes you would notice Light Magic the Luminous uses. As for the chains Luminous was corrupted by the Black Mage so it would be natural for him to also know how to use them, like how Lumi has an ‘Apocolipse’ skill that looks exactly like what the Black Mage countered Lumi’s ‘Spectral Light’ skill with in the animated video.
