kMS ver. 1.2.194 – Wild Hunter Reorganization, Job Balancing, Fairy Academy and Crimsonwood PQ! [updated]
The previous Tespia patch has come to the real server, but there is one large difference. Battlemage was not changed, their skills are the same as before. I wonder if this is because people were not happy with it? I don’t know about you guys but I think the new animations fit the Resistance a lot better than the dark ones (albeit this is a really late change).
Anyways, Wild Hunter received some changes and new skills while 9 other jobs were balanced. They released a new theme dungeon as well as a party quest, so read on! Adventurer creation has been blocked! What does this mean? Will RED be coming sooner than expected?
Wild Hunters have been reorganized! Along with the following removed and new skills, they have received both increased attacking speed and attack range! To celebrate, fourth job Wild Hunters will receive a free Special Mastery Book for a skill of their choice until June 30.
For the new fourth job skill, Flash Rain’s mastery level and books will be carried over to Assistant Hunting Unit.

In order to make Link Skills more convenient, everyone first job or higher has received the beginner skill Link Management. Using this skill will let you see all your Link Skills to quickly move them through your account.
Nova jobs can now receive Link Skills! They have also added a limit of 12 Link Skills per character (meaning that is the maximum you can have at one time). Cygnus Blessing counts as one skill even if you have more than one Knight of Cygnus.
A new theme dungeon for levels 30 and above, Fairy Academy Elinel has been added! You can access it through Northern Woods: Giant Tree after talking to Pansy.
Here are the monsters for this area, I think they look much better than the ones they made for Colossus the Giant.
You can get some new items from here, including the Fairy Academy Honorary Teacher medal (2 to all stats, 120 HP and MP), Elinel’s Bracelet (1 attack and magic attack, 5 slots), and Elinel’s Wings (10 avoid, 5 speed, 3 slots). There’s also a scroll for the wings that give 1 to all stats at a 100% rate.
A new party quest, The Altar of Masteria has been added! It takes place in the theme dungeon Crimsonwood Citadel and requires 3 ~ 5 people levels 130~200. The more diverse your party is, the more rewards you will receive. It can only be accessed once you have completed the quest “The Road to the Underworld”.
Work your way around the maze while avoiding the pillars in order to activate the Masters’ rooms’ runes.
Afterwards, you’ll be able to fight the five Crimsonwood Masters in order to obtain the legendary weapons! When fighting these bosses, if you are the same job as them your damage will be increased by 30% and they will use one less skill.
What’s interesting is that there is the same room as in GMS, with the map outlining Versal’s attack on Masteria, it even has Naricain! Currently, kMS does not have anything other than Crimsonwood Citadel, which is much different than what is shown. It’s possible this might just be a place holder. We have the bonus room as well, with many chests.
The prize for this party quest is the Masteria Shoulderpad, it is level 130 and gives 5 to all stats, 4 attack and magic attack with 0 slots. It does not expire but it cannot have potential.
There were some changes to party quests as well! Moon Bunny’s Rice Cake now gives you 5 Rice Cakes when cleared and the hat costs 50 Cakes now. Tangyoon’s Cooking Class has been made less strict and an achievement bar has been added.
In Traces of the Goddess, Papa Pixie can now drop the Goddess’ Bracelet and Shoes, and the cost to trade them in for Goddess Minerva items has been changed to 10 and 15 feathers.
Resurrection of the Hob King‘s clear experience has been increased and the cost to change the earrings into Perfect Earrings has been changed to 25 Proofs. Ice Knight’s Curse has also had its clear experience increased.
The quest requirements for Fantastic Theme Park have been decreased (good thing too, one of the quests wanted you to kill 777 of a monster!).
Also, a new reward has been added for the Ellin Forest quest chain. At the end you’ll receive the Ring of Fairy Queen, which gives 3 to all stats and 3 attack and magic attack with 1 slot, but it can’t have potential.
Two new Soul Weapons have been added, for Ephenia and Arkarium. Ephenia gives you Queen’s Fragrant Butterflies, which increases the HP and MP of those in your party by 50% for 180 seconds with a cooldown of 300 seconds.
Snake Sauron inflicts 350% damage every second for 10 seconds on up to 10 enemies with a 240 second cooldown.
There is also a Great Soul for Arkarium, that gives Medusarkarium, which deals 2500% damage on up to 15 enemies and stuns them. There is a cooldown of 300 seconds.
The new Autopilot Riding system has been added! To use it, first you must get an autopilot mount (based on your job you’ll get one for free! 120% speed for 30+, 150% speed for 60+, and 170% speed for 100+).
Then, choose on the world map which map you would like to move to and pay 1500 mesos. This system only works in Victoria Island.
You’ll then see your character move by itself to where you want to go, ignoring any collisions or damage done by monsters!
Maple Firecrackers will be spawning around the Maple World! Defeat them and collect 1000 points in order to choose a prize! You can choose any Maple Black weapon, Hat, Suit, Gum, Ring, or Maple Prime scrolls.
Some 10th Anniversary events have been extended, Secret Boxes, Maple Marvel and Let’s Go! Mesorangers! will now end on June 12 and the 10th Anniversary Coin Shop will be open until June 20.
Soul Collector Murmur has returned for season 3, and will run until May 29. Find him around the Maple World to collect bags that can give you Ephenia and Arkarium Soul Pieces.
The next event is called Maple Survival Minigame and it runs until June 12. It’s actually really fun! Every XX:10, XX:30, and XX:50, you will be invited by Spiegelmann to participate with 3~5 people, seeing who can do the best in four minigames.
The first is Mini Bean Sniping, use your mouse to shoot the Mini Beans of your colour. Be careful not to shoot other peoples as they will benefit from it instead of you!
The second is Avoid the Piranhas! Don’t get hit by the piranhas and be the last one standing! You can use a Teleport by pressing shift, with a 4 second cooldown.
Next is Spiegameman’s Bomb Twirl, it’s like hot potato except with a bomb. You can decrease the bomb’s time to explode by a maximum of 3 seconds before having to send it off to the next person. Whoever is holding the bomb at the end will fail and a new round will start.
Finally, it’s Raining Stones! Avoid all the stones, hitting 3 of them will completely use up your HP gauge and you will fail. You can become invincible for a short period of time once by pressing Shift.
Based on your performance, you will receive prizes! First place will get 3 Mystery Jewel Boxes and 3 Mystery Bags, second place will get 2 of each, 3rd will get 2 Jewel Boxes and 1 Bag, 4th place will get 1 Jewel Box and 2 Bags, and 5th place will get one of each.
The Mystery Jewel Boxes can give you S/A/B/C rank Jewels while the Mystery Bags can give Jewel Craft Chaos Rings, Jewel Synergy Machines, Jewel Craft Rings, and Power Elixirs.
The final event is Higher, Higher, Crown Stacking! It runs until June 12. This event is based around collecting Crowns, basically titles.
Collect 30 Shiny Stars from monsters around your level to trade in for either a Crown or a Crown Piece. There are 5 different colours of Crowns and 10 Crowns of each colour.
You can stack them if they’re different colours, wow that’s gonna get annoying haha.
There are even achievements, which are collecting all 8 Crowns of a colour. For each one you’ll get a prize~

- Blue Crown Character: 1 Strange Cube
- Yellow Crown Character: Special Additional Potential Stamp
- Green Crown Character: 60% Additional Potential Scroll
- Purple Crown Character: Advanced Equipment Enhancement Scroll

If you collect the ones that Cassandra asks you to, you will get the Master of Crown Stacking medal which gives 5 to all stats, 300 HP, and 3 attack and magic attack. It expires though.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the Mr. Radish Attendance Check which will be starting on May 27 and end on June 23! This event is 28 days long but you only need to participate for 21 days to get all the prizes.
Each day, log on and defeat 10 Mr. Radishes that will spawn all over the Maple World to complete the quest.
As you can see, the amount of days you participate will give you prizes!

There’s also a Hot Time on May 25 which gives the Moment of Flames badge (5 to all stats, 100 HP and MP, 10 attack and magic attack, time limited), 4 S Rank Jewels, 5 10th Anniversary Coins, and a 7 day Teleport World Map.
7 people per world will also get the I’m a Lucky Guy medal and 3 people per world will get the 10th Anniversary Black Belt.
The Root Abyss pets that were added in Tespia a while ago have finally been released, haha their food is the World Tree’s Fruit.
A new mount has been added to the Cash Shop, the Asteroid B612 riding! You can buy a 7 day version for 700 NX or a 30 day version for 1500 NX. It functions as an autopilot mount, so you can use it with that system, it will move faster than the regular balloons.

Nope it’s still the same, % chance of instantly killing an enemy. They just posted it because character card was not out when WH was released and the update summary treated it like a new job lol.

Lol I hope everyone is happy with their low range non-battle-resistance-like skills with no updates on attack, easier obtainable auras (30 points at 4th job to max the advance ones) (and it stays at 80 including mastery books), and also slower attacks. On another note.. great post Max. that moving system will comes in handy for new characters.
‘Cause pink/purple and yellow are “Resistance-like” … That’s AB theme. Also, Demon Slayer is dark, and is Resistance. I’m not sure how people think the new them fits better when it’s a fact that “dark” is in the Resistance from other places.
Other than the animations no one complained about the damage and speed. one thing lost its cooldown. even passive were taken off. and that’s just stupid since the animations were cool looking and their weren’t that bad. And also the demon slayer was the black mage’s commander so his power were like that before. the resistance are just citizens learning how to use their technology and skills.

evans are actually pretty balanced in terms of attacking speed and buffs to be on even level with the newer classes. It was just their damage that was a bit lagging. On the other hand, Arans generally are seen as one of the weaker classes besides pre revamp cygnus knights and have one of the lowest DMP outputs. Generally speaking there is a reason why arans are rarely seen in boss parties beyond party buffing. They needed to even out the playing field otherwise they would lose the players would really like arans.
Btw, remember the big RED update? Chances are you’ll probably get something out of it, just cross your fingers 🙂

since 5th job is coming out would that be at lvl 150 and would current 4th job skills be moved into 5th as more sp would be needed or would mastery lvls just be lowered?

The stance skill isn’t as same as Battle mage or warrior idiot. It comes with another skill. And Bishop resistance ans stance some with others kill too. And not like warrior or Battle mage who have Stance skill alone.
My bishop and also all my friends bishop , they use a link skill of Mihile to make it not getting Knock Back.
You can’t have the everything, can you? Evan always have speed and damage. what is so bad about it losing out on a bit of stance effect? Balancing is important. What is the point of making a job that is good in EVERYTHING.
If the revamp will bring the BIG EXODUS to Maple..i believe nexon will think that twice. I think once they change one of the class skill too but ppl didn’t like it so they changed back. But I forgot which one..though this change didn’t come to GMS and only happened in KMST.
Depending on the Adventurer revamp, we may have either a exodus or a lot of happy people.
Some of the comments on Insoya regarding the BaM revamp were positive and some were negative. I, myself, think that Battle Mages did need a graphic and skill overhaul, though for the sake of most people’s sanity, it might’ve been nice if they kept something like BKB.

It means Xenon got nerfed severely.
Some jobs have different dmg multipliers on there weapons.
For instance a hero with a 1h have a much lower multiplier than cannoneers cannons (cannons have the highest dmg multiplier) So say u have 3000 in the stat ur job uses and u want a certain dmg range on a hero you will need much more total wep attack than cannoneer would.
Basically Xenons wep multiplier was far too high.

I find evans well made. Any more skills will ruin it. They already have a bunch of Buffs and takes forever to cast if not on a rope. So I believe changing the % on the attacks skills is a very fair deal already. Stop complaining and just accept it. At least they didn’t change BaM. The new animations look great but it pretty much Nerf’s them since they hit less, so it would affect the people who payed big $$$ and is able to hit cap.

It would be sad if they didn’t change the auras as they are more convenient since people been complaining so much. they regain cd on battle rage and attacking speed. I hope they do make the simple changes and do not change the animation to please people.
The problem was not that there was a BaM revamp, The Problem is that the Revamp was crap, They completly changed the Battle Mage theme to ROCKS and they removed the Hyper Skill that actually was GOOD. If they are going to Revamp the Battle mage they need to think again.
It was just three skills. Three skills related to stone hands does not change the theme of a class. Stop losing your mind over it.

Dammit Nexon all you had to do was make arans Double/triple swing faster or do more lines.
Your not fixing anything making combos work in reverse.
Simply make them faster take that delay down from the initial regular attack or just leave them alone.

two unrelated questions about joker items and root abyss sets from couple of versions ago:
1) if you are wearing items from two sets (say you are wearing root abyss hat, top and bottom AND empress cape, gloves, shoulders, shoes), which set does the joker weapon complete? One of them or both? If just one, which one? do you get to choose?
2) i probably didn’t do enough reading, but do root abyss set give 30 or 60% boss in total?
3) i think you mentioned in one of your previous update that root abyss hat is also a joker item? it doesn’t seem so in GMS as of the moment, is it different in KMS?

1. No, it will only complete one set. I believe it chooses the one with the highest set ID (in the data) so you won’t be able to choose.
2. Root Abyss set gives 40% boss from the weapons and that’s it.
3. The Root Abyss hat is not a joker item, the Chaos Root Abyss boss hats are though (like Chaos Vellum Helmet).

can merc get a serious upgrade already… i mean what’s with all their skills doing 130% damage…. stop upgrading crap skills mercs barely uses, no one uses lightning edge it has a god forsaken long ass delay, and spikes royal is only used for that -20% defense on mobs, whats the point of spamming in when the debuff on mobs already last for like 10+ seconds… btw spikes royal also has a shit delay where you are in the air for like 2seconds, and you better hope you are close to your target so you can combo that short ranged leap tornado with your spike. Jesus mercs seriously needs a better upgrade than this
