    • Max

Yeah those new hair/eyes are the only ones you get, there’s no choices other than gender.

    That new Polo portal!
And the new frito minigame is super fun.
Not a fan of the MVP service, they said they were getting rid of that stuff with the removal of the last service. Guess that was a lie.
Monster park reborn also seems suspiciously similar to red leaf high/sengoku high in GMS, like they just gutted the entry features, and slapped on some tacky rewards.

Also, them aran changes. Big props nexon you listened. I’m proud.

I’m losing a lot of faith on the evan changes… Why even nerf the duration of our Hyper Summon…
They also increased the cooldown on Dragon Breath and decreased Breath of Wind hits from 7 to 3…..

    • Anonymous
      November 7, 2015 at 8:07 am

To be fair, with 20% resistance base, our average resistance is the same (60%), but our baseline is a bit higher, so we can get a BIT closer to 100% without our Summon.
Not to mention having a SECONDARY source of dps contribute 80% of our lines was stupid. I’d just as easily settle for twice as many. It’s Still a rapid attack, right?
Not to mention that being forced to toggle is to out advantage. Them return boosts.

    Hey Max,

I have a question, did the extreme green potions exist in KMS before this patch? I’ve seen many videos of people only using the red ones and not the green ones, specially at speed run bosses where some classes would be a lot faster if they used them but never saw it.

    Thanks!

    • Max
      November 5, 2015 at 8:10 pm

They’ve existed since Monster Park Extreme came out haha. I think in KMS they don’t break the speed cap like they do in GMS so that maybe why.

Well the re–added Dark fog for evan as a consolation (looking at it’s cd and damage proves it’s just a consolation), and ahahahahahahhhhahaha, i can’t stop laughing at evan’s return home and new hair!

    Old McDonald had a faaarm….hahaha!

Seriously. I know Evan is the red haired step-child of unliked cousin’s mother-in-law, but what’s the point of returning him to his barnville? Most characters are returned to places where they have their crucial npcs, or/and shops around. Evan gets to return to do what? Pet his chickens? More over his and Mihile’s story revolve around getting the hell out of there and staying that way, rather then working at a farm/sweatshop…

Well that and his “hit me, please!” hair, there’s still the issue of bossing potential being lost. I’m not delving into numbers here, too lazy this time around, but the ability to lock-on on a boss is a huge thing, at least defense wise. Walk into mobs and take their bump damage, rather then boss’s full wrath. With lock-on it works like a charm, and let’s be honest – evans are no tanks..But that’s been cut out of the equasion now…

And going back to Aran, the non-red haired stepchild, i see they listened to feedback about missing combo barrier. It’s still missiong…obviously, but they upped high defense to 40%, that acconts for something. Aran’s were never much of tanks, glad they saw it during their testing.

It’s sad that nexon continues to screw evan up in terms of bossing capabilities…

If they are expecting characters to have a harder time in terms of cycling between MULTIPLE (due to the stupid 8s CD) skills, at least give some leeway in terms of recovery, status resistance. But no, nexon decides to be a complete ASS HOLE and deprive us of those. Don’t even mention damage… For those who say recoveries are useless, you probably have NOT experienced instances where you are totally NOT allowed to use potions (such as pot-lock, chao’s queen zombify).

        November 7, 2015 at 7:43 am

You know they gave us BACK 20% status resistance, right? That’s 5% more than what we HAD.
Then we have another 80% half the time, which averages to 60%, same as it did before. (15% x 7/20 + 95% x 9/20=60%)
You can use hero’s will to remove pot lock.
The cooldown reduction is now 25% so it’s reduced to 6 seconds instead of 6.4 seconds, and can be reduced to 3 max, so it’s still spammable with the correct potential lines

        • Anonymous
          November 7, 2015 at 8:37 am

Hero’s will? That thing has a 6 mins cooldown. Do you think that the boss is so generous NOT to spam it?

I have been to cra myself, I can say that the boss uses it way often than once per 6 mins unless you are extremely lucky that she does not turn to the crying face often. Do you even know what her zombify does? Using potions will damage your hp! Throw that in with the burning DoT inflicted on you and you’ll be DEAD. Recovery aura is the only thing that can save you if hero’s will is on cool down!

If the ability to recover hp/mp is indeed as “useless” as you claimed, why don’t you write in to nexon and ask them to remove ALL the hp/mp recovery skills for ALL jobs less bishops?

Don’t even get me started on status resist, it’s all because the KMS evan players were extremely UNHAPPY that the devs decided to give this back to evans! I have seen a video on 2 evans trying to duo CRA(on banban, pierre and queen), and they get THRASHED by the bosses.

Last, but not least, those new skills of evan are literally BLOCKING the bosses, that means other players can’t even see where exactly the boss is or even what it’s doing/facing. Do you really think that CRA parties will want this type of attacker that might even screw the run up for the party?

Umm, you don’t need to lock on to a single target when you can hit EVERY TARGET.
      As I’ve said before.
You need a single target attack for killer wings to EVEN WORK.
And there are ADVANTAGES to hitting every target. Like at lotus part one. You don’t have TIME to wipe out the mobs, but it MUST be done, lest you be screwed by stun.
And multiplier? For all the talk you make of end results, you should know that the end result of funding is ALWAYS cap lines, at which point, the multiplier no longer matters, only the number of lines, which increased twofold.
He was a freaking farmboy, get over yourself.
So having a class that does both? Invaluable.
And umm… No. In fact, Evan’s black heaven cutscene is dedicated to him not going back enough. In a hillarious way. That makes Mir never want to go back.
You should see the adoration he has for his hometown hero, Athena Pierce, as an NPC in the Alliance Map.
It’s not like he was sick of living at the farm. He was LITTERALLY called to action. By his newborn baby dragon.
I agree with you though, they nerfed things that needed a good buffing. Like our Hyper Skill.

Well, its noice to know that the Link skills are getting a massive buff. 400% exp from orbs? at like lvl 30-40, some orbs would give you a good 50% or so(Current GMS) so this link skill is basically gone from trash, to free lvling. Evan still is trash, considering that Runes used to be increased by buff duration, and the fact that it is very limited to both mobbing and maybe the GMS Gollux, seeing as that is the only boss with runes right now. I’d recommend making it so that the rune cooldown is the same decrease as the duration increase(30%, 50%) to make it a bit more worthwhile.

Aran now has a very sexy smile, as well as massive changes to her gameplay from last time. Combo ability is at 50 instead of 100, and the adrenaline rush is now at 1000 instead of 1500, no longer boosting attack speed but attack count by +2, which is a nice change. Smoother animations, basic damage adjustment(what was it with that 75% mastery? 5th job confirmed?) Not to mention that Drain cannot be debuffed and has been increased to 5% health from the 2%. This class just keeps getting better.

Evan, however, just keeps getting worse. His face and Hair are TERRIBLE! Increase on all cooldowns, but from what I see, not the duration of the attacks. You would think that using one of the other similar skills or the Evan skill you could decrease it as a combo, making the playstyle a bit more interesting, but Nexon isn’t even doing that at this point. Dark Fog returns… but why? what’s the point, it adds a bit more mobbing coverage, but no effect during cooldown like similar skills. Then some of the Hyperskills get nerfed-Really? I mean, the Summon Onyx Dragon was broken for a while because of that 1Bil damage cap, being one of the few classes that could ever reach it with the Summon formula, which is a fraction of your own power(I believe it’s a total of -1/8, or close to that) But to nerf that down to character damage and then take away MORE time? Geez… Even as an Ice/Lightning mage, I don’t want these guys that nerfed. (To be fair, at least all skills on Evan work now, whereas they still refuse to fix skills that do nothing on my class)

Outside of that, the possibility of Monster park potions being easier to get? No more mule farming? Zakum gets his tree back?(That is going to look weird, with him bouncing around his tree.)

Wow, that screwing of evans further, Nexon should just delete the evan character and be done with it! Was hoping that they will restore some of what has been lost, but this looks even more hopeless now!

Now, who were the ones saying number of lines got increased by a big amount? Now they got nerfed! Sure, evans might still deal more lines, but not as much any more.

Dragon master VS Frenzied soul: For those who play GMS, obviously some will think dragon master is useful, for those who play other servers that have “control zone” mechanics, you’ll know that by using dragon master, (especially when magnus has 25% hp or below left) intentionally or not, you are probably gonna DIE, even with that 10% hp protection on. So what it might save you since it retains 10% of your hp after a purple or blue meteor hits you? You are probably DEAD by then since by staying outside the control zone for 2.5s, you would have lost more than 10% of your hp! Not to mention, your hitbox increases when you mount on mir! Worst of all, it has a 5.FREAKING.MINUTE.COOLDOWN. So what that skill is a OP mobbing skill? Do we NOT have ENOUGH mobbing skills already? I rather get the 30% dmg for 30s for a 90s cooldown!

Increase in CD in dragon dive/swift/breath: Wow, now nexon is FORCING you to cycle between multiple attacking skills with that increase of CD! Just W.O.W.

Decrease in duration oynx dragon summon: 45s> 40s, is this really necessary? Our status resist is already CRAP to begin with!

For those who said recovery aura is USELESS, let me tell you something. There are other players on other servers that say this skill is OP. Since evans has a very low base status resist, this might even save you from being knocked out when you are seduced. Not to mention, Chaos Queen have a special type of zombify that DAMAGES you while using potion/heal, this skill is important to evans.

For those who play in GMS and said reduction in pdr is nothing, of course that applies to GMS players only! You guys have access to ring sets that adds pdr, does ALL the other servers have access to it? No?

Increase in difficulty in controlling characters should mean that they should have lesser things to worry about such as healing mp/status infliction.Just look at evan:

20% base resist + half of the time immune to status (I rather have a higher base or a buffing skill that adds a higher base resist, so that I can use link skills/traits/hyper stats to max it out.
No means of self recovery, be it HP/MP: If its really that useless, why not REMOVE ALL of those skills from other jobs less bishops?
MUCH lower base PDR compared to the old evan: Needless to say, this is unacceptable!
Attack speed has DROPPED: Shouldn’t it remain the same?
The WORST type of teleport among all the mage class: If dragon flight/glide is still around, disregard this.
30s of frenzied soul VS 15s of USELESS dragon master: Frenzied soul has 90s CD while dragon master has 5mins CD. Which is MORE useless now? Not to mention, dragon master is totally UNUSABLE in some bosses. i.e. magnus
Increased CD in mir’s attacking skills: Higher difficulty in controlling(FORCED to cycle between skills), but I don’t see the “reward”? How come there are MORE liabilities weighing evan down now?
Reduced critical rate (down by 5%): Why did they even do this?
What happened to dragon flight/glide skill? Can anyone confirm if it’s deleted? Or it’s still around? (NOT the hyper skill)

This. ALL THIS. I honestly waited three to four years and my hopes risen when they teased this. But they just decided to take a whole turn that I don’t quite like anymore at this point. Evan was my very first character when I started Maplestory and I just don’t feel like Nexon is doing a good job for us at this point. All the pointless nerfs on Magic attack, crit, damage buff, no more healing support.
During the first part of this revamp and seeing the fire tornado looking REALLY promising for a lot of damage output with 7 LINES of really rapid attacks. I saw a lot of damage potential on there but up to this point, the low number of lines now that these number of hits got nerfed… idk ._.

Yeah, I myself is a player who made an evan ever since it was first introduced. The reason why I played besides the fact I like dragons is because of recovery aura. Now it’s GONE.

Thank you nexon, and $%^%$$ you as well nexon. Do us a favor, and delete the evan class instead of wasting your time to nerf and make a mockery out of our job.

    November 6, 2015 at 11:11 pm

Hey Max! I don’t understand why Hero dmg would be a bit high. This class is especially built for 1v1 damage, not for hunting o.O I have played Hero for ages. The critical damage bugs existed for Hero for so long, but NOT other classes!! Well Battle Mage skill (Battle Rage) and Beast Tamer (Bear Assault) skills are also damage multiplier, so they are also bugged currently.

I would like to suggest removing revamps being made for Combo Fury (2nd job) and Shout, because Hero is not a hunter but a bosser.

  23. thrakkes, Hero GMS
    November 6, 2015 at 11:14 pm

By critical damage bug, i mean the %dmg increase compared to base damage is actually lower than other classes. Critical damage % on Character Stat window doesnt fit with current damage I deal once Advanced Combo is fully charged and Enrage activated. Other classes don’t have this issue. So I greatly HOPE KMS WON’T CHANGE %SKILLS VALUES !!!

  24. thrakkes, Hero GMS
    November 6, 2015 at 11:24 pm

One last thing! Majority of Hero players in GMS community doesn’t care about mobbing because they all know Hero is built to be a pure 1v1 DPS class. I rarely know any who even put Hyper skill SP for hitting more ennemies with Raging Blow (4th job and main attack skill).

  25. thrakkes, Hero GMS
    November 6, 2015 at 11:30 pm

I can even compare with Night Waker, currently Night Walker has a greater DPS than Hero. If we can have pre-revamped function of Combo Fury and Shout, so having a crappy hunting back, then Hero new damage with final damage increase system should NOT be high, because of GMS current crappy mobility and mobbing plus the lack of good advantages.

Seriously? You got Arans right on top of this post, then there are Kaisers, Zero, Dark Knights, even soul masters. Yet your bone is with a squishy 1v1 thief specialist, the Night Walker…yeah. Compare your hero with another warrior. And squishy 1v1 classes having higher damage then tanky ones is simply proper design. And as a guy who played ms since it’s early days (where there wasn’t even 4th job) i hate sins by default, since i remember times of “ProDexlezzItzaSin”…

      November 8, 2015 at 10:50 pm

I would argue she’s even more mobile than zero (and not annoyingly so without option to remain still. Have you tried fighting lotus with a zero? Good. God.), final toss sending you into the air is incredibly useful. the increased range on combat step (even though they removed the slope buggery) is useful for short range distances too that her flash jump would be too much for.

Linking skills is hard to do well but again, this latest update made a lot of good combo moves (final toss>rolling spin which juggles enemies in the air) much more powerful. It’d be nice to see a larger focus on real, action oriented gameplay, but maplestory was not, and likely never will be that type of game. Even on zero, you’re very rarely doing more than switching off between two chains of skills, and keeping up your buffs.
