MapleStory 2018 Summer Showcase: The BLACK!
Nexon has announced a new event, the 2018 MapleStory Showcase for this summer’s update, MapleStory: The BLACK! It will take place at Blue Square in Seoul on June 16 at 3 PM KST.
At this event, they will unveil this summer’s update for the first time! This means they probably will not be adding anything into KMST until after this event is held. The current 15th anniversary events end on June 20, so that should be the date of the first patch!
The event will also feature a special concert by 2nd Moon, called MapleStory The Indiction, a collaboration project celebrating MapleStory’s 15th anniversary.
Like I mentioned in my last post, Nexon commissioned an official webtoon called Black Mage: Origin. It tells the backstory of the Black Mage, which is very relevant considering where the Esfera story left off. You can read a translated version here, thanks to the secretstorytranslation group!
Combined with this event being called The BLACK, it seems almost guaranteed that we will be seeing the Black Mage this summer!

Another idea about the BLACK, anyone remembers Orca? I mean the word BLACK may also refer to BLACK Wings…
i hope this is gonna be the last patch for ms1 it starts to get rlly boring and i hope most of the players move on to ms2
Unless somehow MS2 doing okay-ish in america somehow revives it from being dead as hell everywhere else it has service, I don’t see them dropping MS1 any time soon, it still makes tons of money.
In all storylines where black mage is mentioned, there has also been reference to that there’s more ppl than just the heroes from past. Since there was 6 heroes i so hope black mage will be big boss. like 18:1 or something.
Better be an amazing update because many are quitting and I am having a hard time selling off my gear/account. If Nexon is gonna slap another new area and a P2W boss, then RIP MS1

This sounds more and more like Bleach. Bleach Story confirmed? Seriously, the update’s name sounds way too much like a chapter name from Bleach’s last arc.

I am in disbelieve that they are finally attempting to wrap up this black mage story line wow. I wonder if defeating him gets rid of Big Bang lol
Nay. Big Bang was a result of him reviving, and is permanent. It wasn’t an illusion created by him as soon as he revived, but a physical trauma done to their world.
I can’t wait to see what is up with stuff like Ultra Level up and more but the fact we are getting more Job V skills made me happy.
I don’t care what anyone say…I’m happy Angelic Buster is getting a cute summon to fight along side with her.
