KMS ver. 1.2.379 – MapleStory New Age: 6th Job!

The second and main patch of the MapleStory New Age update, 6th job, has been released! Together with the new job advancement’s Hexa Skills and Stats come a new high-level area Arteria, and other game improvements. Also there was a minor patch today that made a really huge (temporary) change to grinding in Grandis!

In other news, I saw the post on Reddit about me and I just wanted to say that I’m so grateful to everyone for the support, I really do appreciate it!! It was very nice to read all the kind messages 🙂 But also, guys, I can afford a new keyboard, you don’t need to donate to me for that LOL. I just mentioned it in the last post because I knew there were gonna be a lot of mistakes/typos.

However, there were a lot of new Patreon subscribers which is amazing so I used the money to upgrade the site’s WordPress subscription to have more storage, which is why this post includes the 30MB movies for every class. (Note: I used APNG format since it looks a LOT better than GIFs, but they only work in browser when you click on them and open them in a new tab) We’ll see how long this lasts before I have to go back to Imgur…

Overview

6th Job Advancement

A new power to face the New Age, the 6th job advancement has been added.

Here are some of the major changes related to the 6th job advancement/skills that were made in this live server update.

First of all, every class will be given their Origin Skill right after completing the 6th job advancement so that skill growth can start more quickly, and we changed the 5th job Core enhancements requirements for Mastery Cores from level 50 to level 40. In addition, to provide a better skill growth experience, we added additional effects to some Enhancement Cores other than final damage boosts, and we set their damage boosts to be higher at level 1 and every 10th level. Also, we made some skill effect improvements and added various sound effects to all skills.

The main feature of this New Age update, the game-changing 6th job advancement, was intended to be and introduced as both core MapleStory content and end-game content at the same time. However, since there are still 6th job related elements that are not complete with this update, it’s true that there are many shortcomings at this point.

We, the development team, will do our best to ensure that the 6th job advancement acts as MapleStory’s core and end-game content as intended as soon as possible, and to give our players a pleasant experience.

In addition to the quick addition of 6th job related content, we will continue to make the necessary changes and improvements through continuous monitoring of the already updated 6th job content.

Characters can start the 6th job advancement when they reach level 260. After completing the 5th job advancement and the ‘[Borderless] Original Appearance’ quest, you can begin the 6th job advancement ‘[6th Job] United Dimensions’ quest.

When you complete the 6th job advancement, your Origin Skill Core will be automatically activated.

※ During the 6th job advancement quests, you can move outside the job advancement maps by talking to the NPC Moko.

※ If you want to continue the 6th job advancement quests, you can accept the ‘[6th Job] Continuing the Job Advancement’ quest in the lightbulb icon to return to the maps.

Story-wise, the 6th job advancement takes place right after Borderless. As the border between Maple World and Grandis is broken, a rush of unknown Erda flows in and overwhelms the Goddesses. Only you can hear the voice of this new Erda as you dive in to the Erda Torrent to save the Goddesses and gain a new power.

One by one, the three Goddesses will give you ‘My Arcane Stones’, which you must activate and fill with 50b experience each. Sound familiar? It’s basically the same as the original 5th job advancement (well I guess the stones are still there now but they’re not required to fill up ASAP).

As you find out the identity of the Erda, all of your Arcane Symbols are suddenly lost, floating away into the Sol Erda. (Don’t worry this is just a story beat, they don’t actually take your Symbols!)

Now you must enter the Sol Erda and one by one, recover your Arcane Symbols. Each Symbol turns into a Stone that you must (again) fill up with 50b experience. After each one, you return to the Sol Erda and do a simple task or minigame, such as using the Erda Extractor in Road of Vanishing to push away Unstable Sol Erda.

Note that for all of these Stones, experience from things like quests or Monster Park do not count. It’s only from hunting, but it is affected by exp multipliers. For myself, I grinded in Shangri-La on 2x/MVP/Extreme Gold/Small Experience Potions and it took me roughly 10 minutes per Stone, depending on portal luck. If you hunt at lower level areas it will probably take longer. Also, you get the 50b experience you filled each Stone with after completing the quest, so they kind of act like doubling your experience gain, you’ll get 450b experience in total.

Afterwards, the Sol Erda will grant you their strength and you will complete the 6th job advancement!

Hexa Matrix System

The 6th job advancement’s Hexa Matrix system has been added. You can activate Hexa Cores to acquire Hexa Skills and Hexa Stats.

Hexa Skills

  • Hexa Skill Cores are divided into Skill Cores, Mastery Cores, Enhancement Cores, and Common Cores.
    • Skill Cores: When activated, you can learn new skills.
    • Mastery Cores: When activated, you can learn skills that replace or enhance 4th job and lower skills.
    • Enhancement Cores: When activated, you can enhance your 5th job skills.
    • Common Cores: When activated, you can acquire skills that be used by all classes. Common Cores will be added at a later date.
  • Hexa Skill Cores can be upgraded up to level 30. When the Cores are upgraded, the levels of the skills activated by them are increased as well.
  • Master Cores and Enhancement Cores can only be activated when certain 5th job skills are above a certain level. If you unequip or disassemble a V Core and do not meet the skill level requirements anymore, the Hexa Skill Core will be deactivated and you will not be able to use the skill learned from that Skill Core.

Hexa Stats

  • Hexa Stats allows you to increase your stats by acquiring and enhancing Stat Cores.
  • Hexa Stats consist of the following stats.
    • Critical Damage (7% at level 10)
    • Boss Damage (20% at level 10)
    • Defense Ignore (20% at level 10)
    • Damage (15% at level 10)
    • Attack/Magic Attack (100 at level 10)
    • Main Stat (2000 at level 10)
  • There are a total of 6 Stat Cores. In this update, you can only activate 1. The remaining Stat Cores will be added at a later date.
  • A single Stat Core can be assigned 1 main stat and 2 additional stats. The additional stat values are halved from the main stat values.
  • A single Stat Core cannot have multiple of the same type of stat.
  • You cannot equip multiple Stat Cores with the same main stat.
  • Additional stats can be stacked up to 2 times over all Stat Cores.
  • Stat Cores can be upgraded up to level 20 (each Stat can only go up to level 10).
  • Each time you try to upgrade a Stat Core, one of the three stats’ levels will be increased based on a set chance.
  • When a Stat Core reaches level 10 or higher, you can pay 10m mesos to reset its stat levels.
  • When a Stat Core reaches level 20, you can save its upgraded mode. You can then apply this saved upgrade’s effects at any time (by overwriting your current Stat Core’s upgrades).
  • You can pay 100m mesos to change the types of stats in a Stat Core to those of your choice.

Sol Erda

  • After completing the 6th job advancement, you can collect ‘Sol Erda Energy’ to acquire Sol Erda.
  • You can acquire ‘Sol Erda Energy’ by defeating monsters in Authentic Force areas.
  • You can acquire ‘Sol Erda Energy’ by defeating the following bosses.
    • Suu (Hard): 50 Energy
    • Demian (Hard): 50 Energy
    • Lucid (Hard): 50 Energy
    • Will (Hard): 50 Energy
    • Jin Hilla (Normal): 70 Energy
    • Jin Hilla (Hard): 120 Energy
    • Guardian Angel Slime (Chaos): 70 Energy
    • Dusk (Chaos): 100 Energy
    • Dunkel (Hard): 120 Energy
    • Black Mage (Hard): 300 Energy
    • Black Mage (Extreme): 600 Energy
    • Chosen Seren (Normal): 150 Energy

  • After completing the 6th job advancement, you can acquire Sol Erda Fragments by defeating monsters in Authentic Force areas.
  • Sol Erda Fragments are tradeable. (However, in Reboot world, they are untradeable.)

General Guide

Let’s start with the basics. The materials you will need to collect for acquiring and levelling skills in the 6th job Hexa Matrix are Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments. Sol Erda is used for your Skill/Mastery cores. Sol Erda Fragments are used for your Skill/Mastery/Hexa Stat cores.

  • Sol Erda: You can collect Sol Erda by hunting Authentic Force monsters and by defeating certain bosses to get Sol Erda Energy. 1000 Sol Erda Energy = 1 Sol Erda. Note that Sol Erda is completely untradeable, the items you loot go right into the UI and you can only hold up to 20 Sol Erda at a time. You can pop out the UI on the right and move it around on your screen to keep track of your Sol Erda as you grind.
  • Sol Erda Fragments: You can collect Sol Erda Fragments by hunting Authentic Force monsters. These Fragments are tradeable (except on Reboot where they are fully untradeable).

Now, for Hexa Skills, there are 4 different types. The 4th one is actually not out yet so I’ll just talk about the other three.

  • Skill Cores: These are the new Origin Skills. Every class gets one skill, which has a cool cutscene effect and can Absolute Bind enemies for 10 seconds (does not share a Bind resistance with regular Bind skills).
  • Mastery Cores: These cores upgrade your existing 1st~4th job skills. They change the damage, effects, and functionality. One Mastery Core can upgrade multiple skills. There will be 4 Mastery Cores in total, but they are only adding 1 in this patch (so every Mastery Core skill you see in this post is boosted by a single Core for each class).
  • Enhancement Cores: These cores upgrade your 5th job skills. For most skills, they are final damage boosts but some skills have different effects depending on its type.

The first thing you’ll need to do is activate each Core (except your Origin Skill Core). This will unlock the corresponding skills. The initial activation of each Core requires a little extra material (Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments). Afterwards, you can level them up by using more Sol Erda/Sol Erda Fragments (you can do this one by one or bulk level using the UI). This is different from V Cores as you simply use the required materials to level up the Core, no crafting/combining multiple Cores to get experience required. Level 10, 20, and 30 (the maximum level) will require extra material as well.

Here’s the chart on how many materials are required per level.

Next is Hexa Stats. You can activate and level up Hexa Stat Cores to increase your character’s stats. There will be a total of 6 Hexa Stat Cores, but for now, they are only unlocking 1.

The first thing you have to do is activate your Hexa Stat Core. To do this, you have to choose one Main Stat and two Additional Stats. You can choose from six different stats, and the Additional Stats’ values will be halved (e.g. Main Stat attack goes up to 100 but Additional Stat attack will only go up to 50). Each Stat on a Core can go up to level 10 while the Core itself can go up to level 20. Between all six of your Hexa Stat Cores, you cannot repeat any Main Stat and you can only stack each Additional Stat up to 2 times. This is similar to the V Core enhancement system where you can stack trios, but only if the main skill on the core is different.

After choosing your desired stats, you can see the Hexa Stat Core in the UI along with 3 bars. Every time you level up your Hexa Stat Core using Sol Erda Fragments, one of these three will be levelled up. The stat that is levelled will be chosen randomly, based on a set rate that you can see on the UI. The chances and upgrade costs are set based on the Main Stat’s level.

  • Initial Activation: 5 Sol Erda, 10 Sol Erda Fragments
  • Main Stat Level 1~2: 35% (10 Sol Erda Fragments)
  • Main Stat Level 3~6: 20% (20 Sol Erda Fragments)
  • Main Stat Level 7: 15% (30 Sol Erda Fragments)
  • Main Stat Level 8: 10% (40 Sol Erda Fragments)
  • Main Stat Level 9: 5% (50 Sol Erda Fragments)

As you can see, the higher the Main Stat goes, the lower the chance you have to hit it again. This makes min-maxing this Stat Core quite difficult. There are some features that help you in this quest though.

First, when a Stat Core reaches level 10, you can pay 10m mesos to reset it back to level 0. So if you get a bad set of rolls and don’t want to keep going, you can reset it and try again. However, you will not get back the Sol Erda Fragments you already used on the Core.

Secondly, when a Stat Core reaches level 20, you can save its levels. After doing so, you can reset the Core, try to upgrade it again, and swap back and forth between the two as you wish. This means you will never lose progress on a Core as you can always save your best roll, work on another in the meantime, and swap back whenever you want.

Finally, you can switch the different stats on a Stat Core by paying 100m mesos. You can choose which Main Stat and Additional Stats you want to change the Core to, which won’t be very useful right now but when they unlock more Cores, you can do something like roll all of your Stat Cores, see which one rolled the highest Main Stat, and set that one to your desired Stat (and so on). Basically, only RNG in this system is the upgrading chance.

TL;DR: Grind to collect Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments. Use Sol Erda + Sol Erda Fragments to level up your Hexa Skills and use Sol Erda Fragments to level up your Hexa Stats. It’s definitely going to be a long process as you need a lot of material, but I think thats pretty much the same as everything new in Maple and they’ll slowly make it easier and faster over time lol. Also they buffed the level 1/10/20 values since the test world so the Enhancement Cores give 11% FD right at level 1 instead of 2%, meaning you still get a good boost right from the beginning!

Notes

All Skill Cores (Origin Skills) inflict ‘Absolute Bind’ on enemies for 10 seconds.

  • The ‘Absolute Bind’ can affect all enemies (even those that cannot be bound normally).
  • It does not share a bind cooldown with regular binds (but if it is used on an enemy that is already normally bound, it will overwrite it).
  • The ‘Absolute Bind’ cooldown is 100 seconds after being bound.

All Skill Cores (Origin Skills) get bonus stats when they reach level 10/20/30.

  • Level 10: 20% defense ignore

Mastery Core

  • Raging Blow VI: [Swordsmanship] Cut multiple enemies in front of you several times in an instant. The final attack will apply a critical hit. When the Combo is fully charged, the skill will be enhanced.
    • Level 30: Consumes 51 MP. Deals 530% damage 4 times on up to 8 enemies, the final attack will be a critical hit. Sword of Burning Soul’s regular mode attack range is increased.
      Enhanced Raging Blow: Deals 590% damage 4 times, the final two attacks will be critical hits. Combo Instinct and Sword of Burning Soul’s regular mode attack range are increased.

Enhancement Cores

  • Sword of Burning Soul Enhancement: Sword of Burning Soul is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Sword of Burning Soul’s final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Combo Instinct Enhancement: Combo Instinct is enhanced.

    • Level 30: Consumes 1200 MP, you are invincible during the cast action.
      Activate 7 shockwaves that each deal 3600% 7 times on up to 15 enemies then 5 shockwaves that each deal 3300% damage 12 times.
      Create a holy area for 30 seconds. The Judgement of Light will attack enemies within the area, dealing 1800% damage 6 times on up to 5 enemies. Enemies hit by the Judgement of Light will stack the Divine Brand. Reactivation cooldown: 0.5 seconds.
      Cooldown: 360 seconds.

Mastery Core

  • Blast VI: [Holy Force] Become one with the knight of holy light to perform a powerful attack on enemies.
    • Level 30: Consumes 35 MP. Deals 465% damage 10 times on up to 4 enemies.
  • Divine Judgement VI: You can attack with a Divine Brand with Blast. When attacking enemies with Blast, the Divine Brand is stacked, and when Blast is used to attack an enemy with a certain number of stacks, the Brand will explode to deal additional damage while ignoring a certain percentage of the monster’s defenses. Party members bonded with Holy Unity will not stack Brands with Blast.
    • Level 30: Stack Divine Brands on enemies hit with Blast.
      Divine Brand: 30 second duration, when the Brand is stacked 5 times, it will explode dealing 890% damage 10 times on 1 enemy with an additional 20% defense ignored.

  • Holy Unity Enhancement: Holy Unity is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Holy Unity’s final damage boost is increased to 90%. The final damage of the attacking skills cast by the bonded target is increased to 60%.
  • Blessed Hammer Enhancement: Blessed Hammer is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Blessed Hammer’s final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Grand Cross Enhancement: Grand Cross is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Grand Cross’ final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Mighty Mjolnir Enhancement: Mighty Mjolnir is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Mighty Mjolnir’s final damage is increased by 60%.

  • Gungnir Descent VI: Throw a mythical spear at enemies to deal fatal damage. You can deal more damage based on your maximum HP.
    • Level 30: Consumes 70 MP. Deals 390% damage 12 times on up to 4 enemies.
      When attacking, the damage is increased by a value equal to 120% of your maximum HP and 40% defense ignore.

  • Dark Spear Enhancement: Dark Spear is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Dark Spear’s final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Beholder Impact Enhancement: Beholder Impact is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Beholder Impact’s final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Pierce Cyclone Enhancement: Pierce Cyclone is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Pierce Cyclone’s final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Darkness Aura Enhancement: Darkness Aura is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Darkness Aura’s final damage is increased by 60%.

Archmage (F/P)

Skill Core

  • Infernal Venom: Liberate the original power of the incarnations of fire and poison to destroy everything around you with the ultimate fusion magic.
    The two incarnations’ power increases Fervent Drain’s limit and fixes the stacks to the maximum. If Infernal Venom hits an enemy using Damage Reflect, you will not take damage.
    • Level 30: Consumes 1200 MP, you are invincible during the cast action.
      For 20 seconds, Fervent Drain’s limit is increased to 10 stacks.
      The liberated incarnations of fire and poison will activate 6 explosions that each deal 7200% damage 8 times on up to 15 enemies.
      The two incarnation’s magic fusing activates 8 powerful magic explosions that each deal 5400% damage 12 times on up to 15 enemies.
      Cooldown: 360 seconds.

Mastery Core

  • Flame Sweep VI: Sweep enemies in front of you with a powerful flame. Every time Flame Sweep hits an enemy, heat will remain. When a certain amount of heat stacks up, it will ignite into a Giant Flame.
    The Giant Flame will inflict Embers on enemies hit, and when Mist Eruption hits an enemy with an Ember, it will explode in response to the poison.
    Enemies hit by any of Flame Sweep’s flames will be burned and take damage over time. Certain monsters will resist and cannot be burned. This is a fire element attack.
    • Level 30: Consumes 52 MP. Deals 355% damage 7 times on up to 8 enemies.
      When Flame Sweep hits an enemy 2 times, the next Flame Sweep will activate a giant flame.
      When the giant flame hits an enemy, they will be inflicted with an Ember for 30 seconds. If Mist Eruption hits an enemy with the Ember, it will activate an explosion that deals 375% damage 8 times.
      Enemies hit by any of Flame Sweep’s flames will be burned for 5 seconds, taking 435% damage every second.

Enhancement Cores

  • DoT Punisher Enhancement: DoT Punisher is enhanced.
    • Level 30: DoT Punisher’s final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Poison Nova Enhancement: Poison Nova is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Poison Nova’s final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Fury of Ifrit Enhancement: Fury of Ifrit is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Fury of Ifrit’s final damage is increased by 60%.
  • Poison Chain Enhancement: Poison Chain is enhanced.
    • Level 30: Poison Chain’s final damage is increased by 60%.

  • Frozen Lightning: Attack with condensed lightning wrapped in extreme cold that instantly freezes then shatters your surroundings. The shattered fragments become Ice Fragments charged with lightning that automatically track and attack enemies. The Ice Fragments will prioritize tracking the boss monster with the highest maximum HP.
    After casting the skill, the ice and lightning magic in the air will let your attacks activate additional hits. If Frozen Lightning hits an enemy using Damage Reflect, you will not take damage.
    • Level 30: Consumes 1200 MP, you are invincible during the cast action.
      Activate 10 strikes with the fusion of ice and lightning magic that each deal 1920% damage 6 times on up to 15 enemies then activate 4 strikes that each deal 4500% damage 9 times.
      After the fusion magic ends, create 22 Ice Fragments that deal 1500% damage 3 times.
      After the fusion magic ends, due to the ice and lightning magic in the air, for 30 seconds when you attack enemies, activate an additional attack that deals 2100% damage 6 times.
      Additional attack reactivation cooldown: 1 second.
      Cooldown: 360 seconds.

Mastery Core

  • Chain Lightning VI: Fire a high-voltage current that chains to nearby enemies and stuns them. When this skill hits an enemy, there is a certain chance to create an Electric Current that additionally attacks enemies.
    Every few seconds, the power of lightning will fully charge, creating a guaranteed Electric Current. The guaranteed Electric Current will prioritize being created at the boss monster with the highest maximum HP. The Electric Current will not decrease Freeze stacks. This is a lightning element attack.
    • Level 30: Consumes 57 MP. Deals 335% damage 10 times on up to 7 enemies. There is a 100% chance to stun for 5 seconds with an additional 30% critical rate.
      When the attack hits an enemy, there is a 35% chance to create an Electric Current at their location.
      Every 7 seconds, there is a 100% chance to create an Electric Current.
      Electric Current: For 4 seconds, deals 140% damage 2 times on up to 6 enemies.
      An Electric Current can attack up to 4 times, when it reaches its limit it will disappear.
      Up to 4 Electric Currents can be created on the map.

  • The way that Enhance Arrow and Advanced Enhance Arrow work has been changed.
    • Sniping and Piercing will now have their own separate stacks of Enhance Arrow.
    • It has been improved so that it is more intuitive to see Sniping and Piercing’s Enhance Arrow stacks.
    • The feature where Enhance Sniping would create a Sniper’s Mark on enemies hit has been removed. Sniping will now leave a mark on enemies hit. If Enhance Sniping hits an enemy with a mark, it will activate an additional hit.

Shadower

  • Shadow Assault: The number of remaining uses displayed on the quick slot and buff icon have been changed from using Roman numerals to Arabic numerals.

Pathfinder

  • Obsidian Barrier: Fixed an issue where Obsidian Barrier’s damage reduction effect did not appear to be applied to the damage displayed when party members were hit. When Obsidian Barrier’s damage reduction effect is applied, the amount of damage reduced’s decimals will now be rounded up.

Soul Master

  • The system message displayed fter Soul Master used a Special SP Reset Scroll and tried to use certain skills that could not be used due to unfulfilled conditions has been improved.

Resolution Support System Improvements

The following officially supported resolutions have been added to the client. In the Game Options’ Resolution Settings, you can select these resolutions if they are supported by your client running environment.

※ 800 x 600 is marked as a non-recommended resolution.

※ It is recommended to play MapleStory at a resolution of 1366 x 768 or higher.

※ In the newly added resolutions, images such as effects and maps may look awkward. We ask for many inquiries and reports from players.

It has been improved so that while in Windowed Mode, you can now drag and drop the window borders to adjust the resolution. This feature also works on the login screen, Cash Shop, Maple Auction, and the external chat window. However, you cannot change the resolution during some content and cutscenes where the resolution is fixed.

Full Screen Mode has been removed. The existing hotkey to switch to Full Screen Mode ‘ALT + ENTER’ has been changed to switch to the maximum resolution supported by your current monitor and client.

When switching to the maximum resolution, if the monitor’s height and the client’s height match, the client will be converted to Borderless Windowed mode. In Borderless Windowed mode, when you hover over the top of the client screen, a drag bar will be displayed. You can adjust the location of the client by clicking and dragging on the drag bar.

The UI Optimization feature has been added. It can be set in the Graphics tab of the Game Options. If the feature is turned on at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 or higher, the size of the UI will be adjusted to an appropriate scale optimized for the current resolution. If the feature is turned off, the UI size will be displayed at the same ratio as in the existing 1366 x 768 resolution.

In the Laboratory, the Upscaling Filter feature has been added. You can choose to sharpen or soften the game screen with the Upscaling Filter. This filter will only work with the UI Optimization feature turned on at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 or higher.

Arcane River Daily Quests Simplification

Arcane River areas’ daily quests completion requirements have been changed to defeating 600 monsters within that area.

  • When you complete further Arcane River area’s story quests, the previous areas’ requirements will be decreased by 200 monsters (up to a maximum of a 400 reduction).
  • Road of Vanishing’s area monsters will include Reverse City monsters.
  • Chew Chew Island’s area monsters will include Yum Yum Island monsters.
  • When you complete a daily quest, you will receive Symbol Vouchers for that area.

Since the Arcane River daily quests are being reorganized, you can complete them before the official server maintenance on July 13. However, if you don’t complete them beforehand, you will be given additional Symbol Vouchers upon completing the quest on that day only. Please take note of this when playing the game.

Developer Notes

The Arcane River Quick Pass’s daily quest details have been changed.

  • Before: 500 Maple Points used for each incomplete daily quest (up to 1500 Maple Points)

Aran

  • Adrenaline Surge: Howling Swing’s 1st attack’s number of hits has been increased from 9 to 10, the damage has been decreased from 1320% to 1200%. Howling Swing’s 2nd attack’s number of hits has been increased from 9 to 10, the damage has been decreased from 1440% to 1320%. Howling Swing’s 3rd attack’s number of hits has been increased from 10 to 12, the damage has been decreased from 1800% to 1440%. Howling Swing’s 4th attack’s number of hits has been increased from 12 to 14, the damage has been decreased from 1920% to 1680%. Howling Swing’s shockwave’s number of hits has been increased from 5 to 10, the damage has been decreased from 1200% to 900%.

We confirmed an issue where after the June 22 test world update, in the process of adjusting Adrenaline Surge’s damage in the July 6 test world update and the July 13 official server update, we also decreased Howling Swing’s number of hits, which made it more difficult than intended to stack 1000 Combo in Awakened Adrenaline mode.

We have changed Howling Swing so that the damage is similar to the current live server but the number of attacks are the same as in the June 22 test world, to make the difficulty of stacking 1000 Combo in Awakened Adrenaline work as intended.

We sincerely apologize for implementing this in the live world update without proper consideration.

Kain’s Thanatos Descent’s Area of Death was designed to give invincibility and deal a lot of damage with the drawback that you could not perform other actions during the effect.

However, we found and corrected an issue where you could use Nova Hero’s Will to cancel the cast action and maintain the invincibility effect while using other skills together with the Area of Death.

This was an unintended error and even though it had been in the game for a long time, it significantly changed the effect of the skill and inevitably, we had to change it.

We sincerely apologize for not checking this error sooner.

Map Changes

Authentic Force maps have been changed as follows.

  • The monsters appearing in these maps will now be personal and not shared with other characters. The maps have been changed so that up to 2 people can use them. Any further characters that enter the map will not see any monsters.
  • Elite Monsters, Elite Champions, and Elite Bosses will not appear.
  • Rune of Darkness and Rune of Treasures will not appear.
  • Burning map effects will not be applied.
  • You cannot party in these maps. If you enter an Authentic Force map while in a party, it will be disbanded.

※ Other map hunting related features such as Combo Kills/Multi Kills, Bounty Hunter portals, and Flame Wolf will remain the same.

※ When a character dies, the monster ownership will be removed. Even if you revive in the same map, you cannot re-acquire monster ownership until you re-enter the map.

※ These changes will be applied until the official server update on August 10.

The following benefits will be applied to all hunting grounds.

  • The Rune creation cycle and cooldown have been decreased.
  • Rune’s experience effects have been increased.
  • Pollo, Fritto, and Especia’s appearance cycle speed has been increased.
  • The experience from Flame Wolf has been increased.

※ These changes will be applied until the official server update on August 10.

We confirmed that after the 6th job advancement update, the occupancy rate of Authentic Force hunting grounds level 260 and higher has increased significantly.

In order for more players to be able to enjoy hunting smoothly, we have temporarily changed hunting grounds so that two players can use the same map at the same time, until the August 10 update.

In addition, during the same time period, we have reinforced various hunting related experience rewards in all maps to make it easier to level up.

[Identisk] Tisk’s Food Storage

The Tisk’s Food Storage event will run from July 13 to August 9. This event is available to all characters level 101 or higher.

Powerful lava monsters have begun to appear in Tisk’s food storage. Help Scholar Toh defeat the monsters and get lots of experience!

You can use the event icon or talk to the NPC Toh in <Identisk: Island of Summer and Winter> to start the ‘[Tisk’s Food Storage] Another Food Storage’ quest. You can only enter <Tisk’s Food Storage> on characters between level 101 and level 260.

After entering <Tisk’s Food Storage>, you will have 15 minutes to defeat 1000 ‘Tisk Island Lava Monsters’ which change based on your character level to gain experience. Every 200 monsters you defeat, a ‘Tisk Island’s Sol Erda’ monster will appear that gives more experience.

※ If you defeat all 1000 ‘Tisk Island Lava Monsters’ and ‘Tisk Island’s Sol Erda’, you will exit from the map regardless of the remaining time.

※ If the time limit runs out, you will exit from the map regardless of the number of remaining monsters.

You can only enter 1 time per day per world on a single character, up to 3 times per week.

※ The weekly entry limit will reset every Thursday at midnight.

If you leave <Tisk’s Food Storage> without defeating all 1000 monsters and there is still remaining time, you can re-enter to finish your session without consuming an additional entry limit.

※ If you reach level 260, you cannot re-enter if you leave partway through.

※ When exiting partway through, the play record will be recorded per character.

※ After midnight, all partway records will disappear.

※ Even if you reach level 260 inside <Tisk’s Food Storage>, you can still get experience by defeating the remaining monsters.

[Identisk] Coconut Smash Challenge

The Coconut Smash Challenge event will run from July 13 to August 30. This event is available to all characters level 200 or higher.

Tisk’s little Toby wants to become an adult soon. Collect ingredients with Toby for a special coconut juice that is said to make you grow taller when you drink it, and get a lot of experience!

You can use the event icon or talk to the NPC Toby in ‘Identisk: Island of Summer and Winter’ to start the ‘[Coconut Smash Challenge] Mysterious Coconut Juice’ quest.

When you enter ‘Coconut Smash Challenge’, you will be moved to the preparation map and be given 2 minutes of preparation time. Once you’re ready, you can talk to Toby to move to the battle map.

※ When entering, all buff effects will disappear. However, if you re-enter from the exit map, your buff effects will be maintained.

When you enter the battle map, you will have 2 minutes to attack the Coconut Turtle monsters and acquire points. There are a total of 6 stages, and the next stage will begin when you defeat all of them. As the stages increase, the level, defenses, and health of the enemies will grow higher.

※ If you exit partway through, the points will be reset.

You can acquire up to 1,150 points per day, and you will receive experience points from Toby in the exit map. The higher your score, the more experience you will get.

There is no limit to the number of times you can enter Coconut Smash Challenge, but once you receive the experience rewards, you cannot receive them on any other character in the same world on that day. However, if the character who acquired the experience rewards gets a higher record, you can receive additional experience rewards equal to the difference from the previous record.

※ The highest daily record will be reset every day at midnight.

The Coconut Smash Challenge experience rewards can be received by 1 character per day per world, and can be received up to 3 times per week.

※ The number of weekly experience rewards acquired will be reset every Thursday at midnight.

[Identisk] Tong’s Prayer

The Tong’s Prayer event will run from July 13 to August 9. This event is available to all characters level 101 or higher.

Tisk Island’s sea otter tribe is struggling to bring back the disappeared blessing of the wind! Help Tong collect the gentle breeze and get lots of experience!

You can use the event icon or talk to the NPC Tong in ‘Identisk: Island of Summer and Winter’ to start the ‘[Tong’s Prayer] Collect Gentle Breeze’ quest.

After starting the quest, you will acquire acquire the ‘Tong’s Prayer’ skill. The ‘Tong’s Prayer’ skill will automatically be activated in maps with monsters within your level range.

The Tong’s Gentle Breeze gauge will fill up when you defeat monsters within your level range. When you defeat 300 monsters, the following skills will be activated one at a time in order.

  1. Blow, Big Wind!
  2. Blow, Big Wind!
  3. Rush, Sweeping Wind!

When ‘Blow, Big Wind!’ and ‘Rush, Sweeping Wind’ activate, you will acquire a large amount of experience and Tong will appear with Tisk Island’s sea otter tribe to attack multiple enemies. This can activate up to 30 times per day.

※ The skill will be deactivated if you reach your daily 30 combined activations of ‘Blow, Big Wind!’ and ‘Rush, Sweeping Wind!’ per character.

※ ‘Tong’s Prayer’ will only activate in maps with monsters within your level range. It will not activate in maps where there is a level 4 Rune debuff, maps where other players have already activated the skill, event maps, or other special maps (Mirror World, story quest maps, etc.).

※ The ‘Blow, Big Wind!’ and ‘Rush, Sweeping Wind!’ skills will only be visible to yourself, and it is affected by experience increasing effects and the death penalty experience reduction effect.

[Identisk] Tisk Tropical Adventure

The Tisk Tropical Adventure event will run from July 13 to August 9. This event is available to all characters level 101 or higher.

Help Toma and punish the bad seagulls that are stealing the fruits offered to the ancient gods!

You can use the event icon or talk to the NPC Toma in ‘Identisk: Island of Summer and Winter’ to start the ‘[Tisk Tropical Adventure] Ancient God’s Blessing’ quest. After starting the quest, you can enter ‘Tisk Island Forest’ by talking to Toma.

You can participate in ‘Tisk Tropical Adventure’ through Quick Start or Party Play by talking to Toma.

※ You can use Quick Start if you are not in a party. You will play the game with 2 other players who have applied for Quick Start.

※ You can participate with Party Play in a party of 1 to 3 players.

Tisk Tropical Adventure

This is a cross-world game where 3 players will be matched, with a time limit of 30 minutes. Players will be transformed into Sea Otters and will be able to use special skills.

You must move left and right and fire your slingshot at the seagulls. You can move left/right with the A and D keys, and shoot with the left mouse click. As you defeat them, you’ll gain points.

※ You cannot change the hotkeys in Tisk Tropical Adventure.

By acquiring certain items dropped by the monster seagulls at a set chance, you can use more powerful attacks 20 times.

The game will end when players have collected a total of 50k points.

Experience Rewards

If you clear ‘Tisk Tropical Adventure’, you will acquire 1000 EXP Points 1 time per day per Maple ID, up to 3 times per week.

※ EXP Points will be provided after exiting from ‘Tisk Thick Forest Exit’.

※ After acquiring EXP Points, you can still participate in ‘Tisk Tropical Adventure’ but you will not acquire additional EXP Points.

※ The weekly reward acquisition will be reset every Thursday at 12:00 AM.

※ You cannot acquire EXP Points after the event ends.

※ You can use the EXP Points until August 30 at 11:50 PM.

※ EXP Points can only be used by characters level 200 or higher.

※ When you use EXP Points, you will get experience based on your character’s level. The experience will be the same for all characters level 260 or higher.

Cumulative EXP Point Acquisition Rewards

When you acquire EXP Points a certain number of times, you can receive Cumulative EXP Point Acquisition rewards from Toma.

  • 4 Times: Gold Slingshot
  • 7 Times: Diamond Slingshot
  • 10 Times: Tisk Sea Otter Hat, Tisk Sea Otter Suit, Tisk Sea Otter Gloves

※ All rewards can be claimed 1 time per Maple ID.

[Zero to One Hundred] New Age Zero to One Hundred

The New Age Zero to One Hundred event will run from July 13 to August 30. This event is available to all characters level 10 to 100.

Spiegelmann has prepared a new hunting ground befitting the new age! Reach level 101 faster than ever before in the Zero to One Hundred Accelerated Growth field.

※ Burning characters can also participate.

※ Zero characters cannot be designated as Zero to One Hundred characters.

You can talk to the NPC Spiegelmann in main towns or use the event icon to designate Zero to One Hundred accelerated growth characters through the ‘[Zero to One Hundred] New Age Zero to One Hundred’ quest.

You can only designate 1 character per day as a Zero to One Hundred accelerated growth character, and you can designate up to 7 characters in total per Maple ID during the event.

※ Even if you delete a character designated as a Zero to One Hundred accelerated growth character, your number of characters allowed will not be restored and you cannot make an additional designation on the same day.

During the event, the Zero to One Hundred accelerated growth characters can move freely to the accelerated growth hunting ground that matches their level through the ‘[Zero to One Hundred] Move to the Accelerated Growth Hunting Ground’ quest.

  • Level 10~29: Windflower Forest
  • Level 30~49: Gentle Wave
  • Level 50~69: Tranquil Marsh
  • Level 70~89: Cloud Stairway
  • Level 90~100: Laboratory D-2 Area

When you have reached the maximum level of each hunting ground, you can talk to Spiegelmann to move to the next stage of the accelerated growth hunting ground.

※ When you reach level 101 in the accelerated growth hunting ground, you will be automatically moved to the map you were in.

※ Cadena, Ark, and Illium will not be able to acquire experience from the accelerated growth hunting ground if they have not completed the beginning tutorial.

When you reach level 30 or 60, you can talk to Spiegelmann in the accelerated growth hunting ground to receive an Equipment Box (expires in 30 days, untradeable) that matches your level.

When Zero to One Hundred accelerated growth characters reach level 101, you can receive a Legendary Secret Box (expires in 30 days, untradeable) through the ‘[Zero to One Hundred] New Age Zero to One Hundred Level 101 Reward’ quest.

When Zero to One Hundred accelerated growth characters reach level 101, you can receive a special gift through the ‘[Zero to One Hundred] New Age Zero to One Hundred Special Gift’ quest.

  • My Buddy Orange Mushroom (permanent, untradeable)
  • Our Maple Tree (permanent, can be put into storage)

※ The New Age Zero to One Hundred Special Gift can only be received by characters level 101 or higher.

※ The New Age Zero to One Hundred Special Gift can only be received once per Maple ID.

※ When you meet the conditions for receiving the New Age Zero to One Hundred Special Gift, you can claim them in any world, even ones the Zero to One Hundred character was not made on.

The Sunday Maple event will take place on July 16, July 23, July 30, and August 6.

On July 16, the following benefits will take place:

    • 2x tier up rate for all cubes.
    • For Cubes with a ceiling system, every 1 Cube used during Miracle time will be counted as 2 for the ceiling.

On July 23, the following benefits will take place:

  • 50% discount on Spell Trace enhancement costs
  • 5x chance to get Magnificent Souls

On July 30, the following benefits will take place:

  • +50% experience from Monster Park
  • Receive 4 3x Experience Coupons (30 Minutes)

On August 6, the following benefits will take place:

  • 30% discount on Star Force enhancement costs

    Hey Max, the Dark Knight Origin Skills are PNGs instead of GIFs. I’m just casually reading through, but noticed that issue while scrolling. Once again thanks for compiling and posting!

      It appears the Origin Skills for Mihile, Wind Breaker, Evan, Luminous, Mercedes, Xenon, Demon Avenger, and the Hoyoung (2) animation also aren’t working

      They are all animated PNGs instead of GIFs, but yeah I see some of them don’t work so I’m trying to troubleshoot. If it doesn’t work I’ll replace those with GIFs although they’ll be lower quality.

    All Skill Cores (Origin Skills) get bonus stats when they reach level 10/20/30.

    Level 10: 20% defense ignore
    Level 20: 20% boss damage
    Level 30: 30% defense ignore and boss damage

    is that total? like, does a level 30 core get a total of 50% each or just the 30%? anyway uhh cool update

    Did you make a mistake for Illium’s Enchant Javelin, or am I just interpreting this wrong?
    In the previous post from July 10th it mentions “Enchant Javelin’s damage is no longer decreased when multiple hit the same enemy”, so shouldn’t it no longer say “If the Javelin Fragments activated by Enchant Javelin hit the same enemy, there is a 50% final damage reduction for the 2nd and later Javelin Fragments.”

      They removed the dmg reduction for the multiple Enchant Javelins but kept it for the fragments those javelins create.

    I think they changed Zodiac Burst to not be tied to Fusion Skills anymore. Seems to be just damage or Mana Burst or interval base?

    Did kms retain the 2x coupons in the oz point shop after their new age changes? If so, are they still 10,000 points per 15 min 2x coupon or did KMS remove them from the oz point shop in New Age update?

    What level must for tricores/skill level be to unlock the respective HEXA matrix version?

      You can see at the top of the Skills -> Notes section, Mastery Cores require lvl 40 of the corresponding V Enhancement Core and Enhancement Cores require lvl 25 of the corresponding V Skill Core.
