kMS ver. 1.2.165 – Choice of Light and Darkness!
The second patch of the Tempest update has been released, the Choice of Light and Darkness. It features the final hero, Luminous!
In addition, another entry has been posted in Inkwell’s Secret Diary, with what could be a sneak peak at our new continent!
kMSt ver. 1.2.438 – Protector of the Dragons, Kaiser!
This patch was HUGE, adding both the tutorial for Luminous as well as the new job, protector of the dragons, Kaiser! There’s also the long awaited Tempest shop and some new Cash Shop items! I’ll be going down the patch notes so read on~!
Kaiser will come to the real server on July 26! There has been no storyline added. I will cover the Tempest shop and Cash items a bit later, I’m busy right now!

Hmmm… irreversible? Does this mean you can only choose light or darkness for Luminous? That goes against everything we’ve seen in Tespia though… I don’t really get it.
However, there are a couple of Dark magic skills in first job in the data that do not appear in game, could this be why? Maybe Luminous will be able to use only one of these elements… or you’ll have to choose one that is more dominant? Only time will tell!
MapleStory Tempest! & kMSt ver. 1.2.437 – Luminous Storyline~
MapleStory’s next update, the one said to exceed even the Big Bang, is set to release in three days. Finally, a bit of information has been released! On July 4, a video will be posted for this (apparently) massive patch!
The Prelude of the Storm will be on July 5, and the Choice of Light and Darkness on July 12. There will be five updates in total, but they haven’t been officially released yet. The first one is very vague, but I’m sure on July 12, Luminous will be released! A new Inkwell’s Secret Diary has been released, could this be another new job?! Oh yeah, Empress equipment‘s secondary stat requirements have been removed!
EDIT: The teaser has finally been released, although it’s sort of… weird looking?
kMSt ver. 1.2.436 – Luminous Skill Changes & Tempest Advisory! JMS Exclusive Classes!
This patch was only a couple of skill changes for Luminous (and skill level changes for Dual Blade), and some minor things. However, it does confirm the summer update will be called Tempest! Also, a new mob for Guwaru has been added… does that mean he will finally make his appearance? A new Inkwell’s Secret Diary has been released, this time talking about the Tempest update and when it is coming!
