Maple Now (October 15, 2026)
As expected, the October patch doesn’t have much content, the main thing is the addition of Extreme Limbo and Baldrix!
Introduction
- This patch is pretty small, there’s not much new content so you can think of it as an extension of the September patch.
- As a result, the Maple Now stream will be shorter than usual but Changseop still wanted to talk about the patch with players and explain their reasoning.
Skill Reorganization Follow-Up Measures
- There was a large-scale balance patch in September, and they have thoroughly checked the Training Grounds’ data, players’ boss clears and gameplay.
- A lot of the adjustments were implemented well, both numeric and experience-wise, but of course, some things didn’t work as expected or had errors.
- Some jobs had more specific changes made based on feedback.
- For Phantom, Skill Quick Management’s skill icon was changed, and the way that Tempest of Cards/Blackjack work has been changed.
- For Wind Breaker, the previous patch redistributed factors like cooldowns and damage, so it significantly changed the effectiveness of their existing equipment setup. They made some changes so its utility did not deviate as much as they intended, and to reduce damage loss in boss battles.
- Dark Knight, Ark, Len, and Eunwol have also been slightly adjusted.
- Some jobs’ numbers have been adjusted.
- They internally designed and tested damage cycles based on past data, but now with actual data from the live server, they found that some numbers were excessively high so they adjusted them. This includes Kain, Hoyoung, and Kaiser.
- For jobs that have had their structures or numbers changed, the Training Grounds data will be reset (Dark Knight, Wind Breaker, Night Walker, Phantom, Eunwol, Blaster, Demon Slayer, Xenon, Kaiser, Kain, Ark, Len, Hoyoung).
- For jobs that have had their structures changed, they will be given a HEXA Matrix Reset Scroll (Dark Knight, Phantom, Wind Breaker, Ark, Kain, Hoyoung, Len, Eunwol).
- Even after this patch, they will continue to look at player data and make additional adjustments as needed.
Improvements
- Maple Talk
- The Maple Talk has been significantly changed.
- You can now use it to talk with players in other worlds.
- Since Challenge World is available for about half the year, they wanted to add a way for players to be able to talk to their friends in their main world. It’s also useful when doing cross world boss parties.
- You need to set a representative character to be able to use it.
- It has regular messenger features like emoticons, linking items, giving a thumbs up or heart, or mentioning others. Since it’s based off group chat rooms, there will also be hosts and co-hosts, who can do things like invite or kick members, and manage chat settings based on permissions.
- You can also see the chat room in your regular chat window.
- Since MapleStory community features are already mainly done through external communities and programs like Discord, they wanted to implement some of these things in-game.

- Effect and UI Changes
- You can turn the Soul Effects for yourself and other characters on/off separately.
- The Circulator UI has been updated to match the new designs.
- Maple Home
- They want to make Maple Home into another type of town, where you can do all the things you would normally do in towns. This was part of their original intention but they couldn’t add it all at once.
- You can now do things like use Quick Move, move to maps, check your Union, visit the Cash Shop, and use the Dimensional Mirror in your Maple Home.
- They have added illustration furniture, which you can place to show off MapleStory’s illustrations. They’re adding more and more nice illustrations that you only see once when doing a quest (or not even if you skip the story, which a lot of people are doing). Now you can collect these illustrations based on your completed quests and show them off.
- You can now place ladders and ropes in your Maple Home.
- They are planning to add more minigames that you can play in Maple Home.
- They wanted Maple Home to function more as a community feature, in addition to its current benefit of being able to show off your achievements.
- Other Improvements
- Chatting emoticons will now be shared per-world instead of per-character.
- Name Engravers and Hyper Megaphones’ purchase level requirements will be increased to level 260.
- For Exploration Coins, various improvements have been made.
- When purchasing Cash items, you will now receive them directly instead of as a voucher.
- You can now use Exploration Coins to buy the available buffs through the Buff Manager.
- It has been added to the Full Menu.
- For Absolabs and Arcane Shade Weapon/Armor Boxes, you can now choose to receive Superior Item Crystals directly from the box.
- For Absolabs and Arcane Shade Boxes, and Eternal armor fragments, you can now claim multiple items at once.
- For potential and Ability automatic resets, you can now use them even if your tier is Unique or lower.
- For daily quests, you can now claim the experience rewards 2 times per day per world.
Extreme Limbo/Extreme Baldrix

- Extreme Modes have been added for Limbo and Baldrix.
- They are more difficult than Extreme Kaling and Hard Jupiter.
- For both bosses, Extreme Mode will be harder to manage the gauge, and there are new patterns added/existing patterns made harder.
- Certain patterns in Normal/Hard Mode have been changed as well.
- For Limbo, elements that slowed down or broke the tempo of combat have been adjusted like removing the Phase 2 minigame, and reducing the length of the penalty patterns.
- For Baldrix, various patterns have been adjusted to improve visibility, and special patterns’ cooldowns have been changed to reduce the frequency of situations where you would have to delay your burst.
- New rewards have been added.
- Extreme Limbo will drop the Exceptional Hammer (Pocket) that can be used on Cursed Spellbooks to give +20 all stats, +15 attack/magic attack, and +1000 HP/MP.
- Extreme Baldrix will drop the Exceptional Hammer (Pendant) that can be used on Source of Suffering and Oath of Death to give +20 all stats, +15 attack/magic attack, and +1000 HP/MP.
- There will be first-clear missions for both new boss difficulties. The two bosses are staggered by 1 hour so players who want to challenge both have time to do one after the other.
- There aren’t many people who will actually be able to challenge these two bosses, but they hope you can watch various content creators as they race and cheer them on.
- Some other boss changes were made in this patch.
- Extreme Kaling’s HP has been decreased.
- Extreme Kaling’s crystal price has been decreased.
- Hard Jupiter’s crystal price has been increased.
Events
- The second part of the Visitors of the Argo event will be added, with Reina, Baldrix, Havoc, and Ressa’s backstories.
- For the Personal Burning event, they will be increasing the number of stages from 30 to 45.
- Around 6% of players have already finished all 30 missions, and by next week, it will probably be over 10%. They expected there to be a gap between heavy grinders and more casual players, but still did not expect some players to finish a two month event so fast.
- The extra stages from 31 to 45 won’t give coins and will give less experience than the first 30 stages. This is to give some minor goals for those players.
- There will be a new hunting event called Detective Yeti’s Strange Magnifying Glass. You can get drops from mobs that let you summon booster monsters for 100 seconds to gain lots of experience.
- The Momentum Pass Plus event will also run again.
- However, if you bought the Premium/Premium Pass in September for the last run, you can’t buy it again for this one.
- Originally, they planned to only sell it in September. But if you start playing in October, you’d end up being behind in Personal Burning compared to players who were able to buy the Momentum Pass in September, so they decided to run it again but create this purchase limit.
- If players were able to buy 2 Momentum Passes, the pace of the game would become a bit too fast and it would also conflict a bit with what is being prepared for Winter.
- The Maple Escape event will take place.
- It is a Halloween event themed after the real life escape room that opened recently in Korea.
- You can complete 4 chapters by solving puzzles to get cosmetic items.
- You can also enter a draw to receive free tickets to the real life escape room.
- There will be a World Leap event where you can move to other worlds (except Scania and Luna).
- Also, based on server population, Scania and Luna will have their number of channels increased from 40 to 60. Zenith/Union/Enosis/Red/Arcane/Nova will have their number of channels decreased from 30 to 16.
- They considered world merges but its quite complicated and technically demanding now that there is a lot of world-shared information. But they’ll continue to work on this.
- It’s hard to get more server hardware due to global shortages, so they are trying out these temporary fixes in the meantime.
Cash Shop
- The new Sol Hecate: Estelle skin has been added.
- You can now anvil an overall item over a top item. The top (with the overall’s appearance) will cover both your top and bottom.
- The world shared decoration slots have been added so you can share your Master Label set on all of your characters within the world without having to unequip them and move them through Cash Shop each time you switch characters.
- The 2nd Golden Hands Awards event will take place where players can design their own hairs, faces, outfits, pets, and Sol Hecate skins (new!). The top voted choices will be implemented in-game.
- AI-generated content will be disqualified.
- You can see the winners of the last time this event took place (way back in 2021!) here.
Conclusion
- The MapleStory movie Dear My Hero will be available on VOD and subscription services.
- In November, the Blue Archive collaboration will take place.
