Discussion Board Developer Comments (February 24, 2022) & the Maple Notice Board

The previous discussion board topic of “Overall convenience improvements” has ended and the developers have shared their thoughts on what players talked about.
In addition, related to this post, they updated the Maple Notice Board, which I haven’t really mentioned before but I’ll talk about it after the developer comments.
KMS ver. 1.2.361 – MapleStory Destiny: The Watcher, Kalos!

The third and final part of the MapleStory Destiny update has been released! Titled The Watcher, Kalos, this patch includes the new boss Kalos, a small addition to Hotel Arcs called The Tower That Never Stops, Karotte, and the level 250 equipment, the Ethernel set as well as some more job balancing.
The MapleStory team also released a 2022 first half roadmap that outlines what we will be getting for the first half of the year, including the Cygnus remaster and the new level 275 area Odium which we will be getting this summer!
KMS ver. 1.2.360 – MapleStory Destiny: Adventurer Remaster!

The second patch of the MapleStory Destiny update has been released! It contains the long-awaited Adventurer Remaster, as well as job balancing for all jobs and various system/QoL changes. This entire set of test world patches over the past month were some of the longest and most frequent in a very long time so I’m glad I can finally take a break haha.
However, since the Adventurer remaster is now finalized, I am planning to record videos showing them all off, especially because they added skill voices in the official server! Not sure when I can get them all out but I’ll try to start this weekend.
Also, I think I forgot to mention it before but I finally made a Patreon! A lot of people were asking me about this for a while so I set it up a couple of weeks ago. If you want to support me, you can check out the page! Of course, it’s not required, but white-listing my blog in your ad blocker would also help. All proceeds go into the blog’s yearly costs (and my NX addiction). 🙂
Maple Us: MapleStory Employee Blog

As mentioned in the Destiny Live Talk, Nexon has released a new website called Maple Us, where MapleStory employees (mostly programmers at the moment) have written various posts about what they work on and the processes they go through. The articles are genuinely really interesting and I was surprised at how in-depth they went! The site also works as a recruitment site where it lists out some of the benefits employees get, what jobs they’re currently hiring for, and how you can get in touch.
I’m definitely not going be translating these as the articles are pretty long and I’m way too lazy but if you’re interested in things like how features in-game get implemented from start to finish, or how their backend DBs work, things like that, it’s definitely worth a look (using Google Translate should be enough). However, since they just released it, I’ll just list out some of the things that popped out to me in each of the current articles.
MapleStory Destiny Live Talk!

Earlier today, the MapleStory team held the MapleStory Destiny Live Talk, a live Q&A with the general director Kang Won-ki and the planning team director Kim Chang-seop, to talk about things that they didn’t fully explain during the showcase as well as answer questions from players in real-time. I’ll summarize most of the main points that they mentioned, it might be a little vague in parts just because of the format of the event.
And of course, tonight, the Adventurer remaster will be released in the test world! The post will probably take a long time considering I’ll have to translate 14 jobs’ skills so expect delays. I might post early and constantly update until I’m done as well but I’m not sure yet.
