Cross Hunter Guide

Cross Hunter is a secret organization that works to defeating strong Master Monsters to keep the Maple world safe! At level 45, you can help out a member, who then later asks you to join at level 75! Master Monsters are located inside Mystic Gates (note, you can only enter a total of 15 Mystic Gates per day), and can be fought many times. The Cross Hunter hideout is located in a hidden portal in the Edelstein top 10 house.

As you progress through the quests, you will receive potions, rings, and medals! You will also get Cross Coins which can be traded in for equipment and scrolls.

You will receive a light bulb from Jake, in the Kerning Subway, saying that a girl has been attacked by the Black Wings and that you have to come and save her! Go to the Kerning Subway and choose the first option at the Ticket Booth to find her.

As you can see, she’s hurt. Sheryl will play a large part in your future in the Cross Hunter organization!

As you talk to her, you will be attacked by Black Wings members! Defeat them and return to Sheryl.

She’ll ask you to defeat Crimson Rock. You can find him by entering the portal to the left of Sheryl. Like all future Master Monsters, Crimson Rock will drop Cross Coins, which can be used at the Cross Hunter’s hideout in Edelstein.

Talk to Sheryl and you’ll exit the subway. You’ll then get a light bulb from a signpost in the Sharenian Camp, after which accepting the quest, you’ll be warped to. Shawn will ask you to defeat 50 SkeledogsMummy DogsSkeleton Soldiers, and Officer Skeletons because there is an abnormal amount of monsters recently. After that, he’ll ask you to defeat 70 Skeleton Horses because he thinks the numbers have not gone down.

When you finish, you’ll see that Sheryl has appeared beside Shawn! She came to help out the excavation members with their skeleton problem. Talk to her and she’ll warp you to Excavation Site: Prohibited Area. Talk to Sheryl and she’ll explain about the Mystic Gate beside her. She’ll take you inside.

Inside, defeat the Skeleton Commander!

Sheryl will then ask you to talk to Spiruna in Orbis Park 4 since she has a present for you! You will be warped back to Perion.

However, it turns out Sheryl lied to you! Spiruna was not expecting you, but she has not been able to leave her house for a while because of all the pixies! Spiruna will ask you to meet Laura in Orbis Park 6 and investigate. Laura will tell you to enter the Mystic Gate and defeat the Master Monster inside.

This time, it’s the dreadful Pixie Mom!

Laura will give you an El Nath Return Scroll, and tell you to talk to her friend Beast. Use the scroll and walk to El Nath: Cold Field 1 to find him.

He asks if you are the person Laura talked about, then asks you to defeat Pepe Queen! Go one map right to El Nath: Cold Field 2 to find the Mystic Gate.

Return to Beast and Sheryl will appear. You complain to her about lying about the present and she pretends like she doesn’t remember telling you that. She tells you to meet with Crow at Ludibrium: Sky Terrace <5> for a present.

Once again, you have been tricked! Crow will tell you to leave as the area is not safe for normal people, but you argue saying that you have fought many strong monsters. In order to prove yourself, Crow says to defeat the Toy Black Knight. Enter the Mystic Gate to find him! Return to Crow afterwards, he says that you are still weak and need training.

You’ll get a light bulb from Sheryl and you argue with her again. She says that she was testing you and she asks you to meet with Gerekter in Edelstein to join Cross Hunter! He will take you to the Cross Hunter Hideout. You’ll see Lee here, he’s the one you trade your Cross Coins to for equipment and scrolls (for more information, see the bottom).

Gerekter wants to see if you are ready to join the Cross Hunter organization, so he tells you the trial you must face before joining, defeat Happy, his dog. After defeating him, you will finally be a part of the organization!

Sheryl will appear and give you your first assignment, to meet Yang in Ludibrium: Crossroad of Time.

Yang will ask you to defeat Shadow Timer, who you can fight by entering the Mystic Gate in the same map.

Yang will tell you that he noticed something weird when you defeated the monster inside the gate, so he tells you to meet with Sheryl at Omega Sector: Kulan Field V while he investigates more.

Enter the Mystic Gate beside her to fight Shadow Zeno.

Sheryl will ask if there was anything suspicious, and since there wasn’t, she gives you another assignment to meet Crow in Hidden Street: Royal Cactus Desert (Ariant).

He underestimates your strength and asks for more proof. Defeat Shadow Deo for Crow! He asks if there was anything suspicious, and there wasn’t, so he leaves to train.

You’ll get a lightbulb from Sheryl giving you another assignment, asking you to meet Laura in Mu Lung: Beginner Practice Field.

Laura wants you to defeat 50 Straw Target Dummies, 50 Wooden Target Dummies, and Master Dummy, who can be found in the Mystic Gate in Mu Lung: Advanced Practice Field.

Sheryl will give you a quest through a light bulb to investigate Magatia’s Alcadno side. Go to Alcadno Research Institute: Lab – Area C-3 to find Crow.

He’ll say that he saw something inside the Mystic Gate. Go inside and defeat Deet and Roi. Crow comes inside and says that something doesn’t feel right.

He’ll ask you to do a final check up of the area. Go to the right side of the map and click where it says to. It turns out it was a bomb! As you return to Crow, he’ll shout “Danger!” and push you out of the way.

Laura will give you a quest through a light bulb to tell you to meet her in Herb Town: Isolated Swamp.

Go into the Mystic Gate and defeat Evil Centipede!

Gerekter will talk to you, saying that too many strong Mystic Gates have appeared, more than expected. Head to Leafre and find Sheryl and Crow.

Sheryl wants you to kill 100 Hobs, Pin Hobs, and Master Hob. The Mystic Gate is at  Leafre: Cranky Forest.

Go inside to find and defeat Master Hob. Return the Sheryl and she’ll give you another quest. This time, you’ll have to defeat two Master Monsters!

The first one is Master Harp, whose Mystic Gate can be found at Leafre: Sky Nest 2.

The second is Master Birk. The Mystic Gate is located at  Leafre: Valley of the Antelope.

Return to Sheryl, then Crow will have a quest for you. He wants you to get rid of 50 Red KentaurusBlue Kentaurus, and Black Kentaurus. After that, both Sheryl and Crow will have quests. Crow wants you to give medicine to Ito, who is in one of the houses in Leafre. It turns out Crow got sick when he was near one of the Mystic Gates, he felt a dark mysterious aura.

Sheryl wants you to defeat Kentaurus King. His Mystic Gate is in Leafre: The Area of Black Kentaurus.

Something strange happens when you defeat him, the Black Mage’s Disciple appears and gives an ominous message, “The entire world will be shrouded in darkness!!”.

After you tell Sheryl, she wants you to talk to Gerekter about it, so you’ll be warped to Edelstein. Talk to Gerekter and you’ll move to the Cross Hunter hideout. Now they know that the Black Mage is related to these mysterious Mystic Gates appearing! Crow appears, and says that Akyrum has returned! They explain to you who he is. Sheryl also appears, and says that Akyrum has made a time portal that leads to the past.

You will be moved to the Temple of Time. Talk to Gerekter, he asks you to go into that portal and see what Akyrum is planning. Finish by clicking the thought bubble above your head.

Enter the portal and you’ll find the Goddess of Time, Rhinne. She tells you what Akyrum is doing, he plans to revive the Black Magician in the past! She asks you to defeat Akyrum once and for all. Click the thought bubble above your head.

Gerekter will appear, and you tell him what happened. He says to enter the Crack in Time to Past Leafre and meet up with Sheryl and Crow. You’ll find Crow immediately, who says that Sheryl went farther in.

As you go farther, you see that Sheryl is hurt! Talk to her and defeat 50 Fallen Wyverns to save her. She says that everything is up to you!

Go farther and you’ll see… the great hero Aran and his polearm Maha! Talk to Maha and get 50 Broken Polearm Pieces from the Fallen Kentaurus to recover his strength and wake up Aran. After you are done, Maha will ask you to give his message to Afrien.

In the next map, you’ll see the other two heroes, MercedesFreed, and Afrien, his dragon!

After giving her Aran’s message, she’ll tell you about the curse laid upon them, and ask you to find and retrieve the Onyx Dragon’s Egg. It is in the next map.

Afrien will then ask you to help Mercedes. After that, Afrien will have one more request, to give her message to Tamil. Continue on through the portal.

You will see a friendly face, Gerekter! He thanks you for everything you have done. However, he suddenly joins together with Happy to form Fallen Gerekter, and attacks you! After defeating him, he says that he was posessed by Akyrum!

After defeating him, head to the right and find Tamil. Tamil wants you to defeat 50 Fallen Skelegons and Fallen Cornians.

Once you’re done, you can talk to Tamil to turn into a black draco and fly to the Temple of Time! Also, now, when you enter the Crack of Time in the Temple of Time (present), you’ll have a choice to go to Past Leafre or Fallen Temple of Time, where you can find the Chief Fallen Time Guardian and Fallen Time Monk Trainee mobs, as well as Akyrum.

As you enter, you’ll find the Goddess of Time, Rhinne waiting for you. She asks you to beat Akyrum! And speak of the devil, Akyrum appears! Fight him! However, it turns out that was just a clone…

You report back to Gerekter and tell him everything. He gives you your final assignment, defeat Akyrum!

A big difference with the history and exchange items.

In GMS you pay mesos for buy in Vence shop.
    Vence dont sell 20% scrolls.
That equips not have the same stats.
    The last ring give: +2 att/matt, +26 def/mdef, +180 acc, +50 avo and +2% exp.
I dont know stats for the last medal but you must pay coins for upgrade it and have 12 upgrades.
Pendant scroll 50% give same stats than 60% and cost 100m

the last medal adds +3all stat 300 hp/mp, and some acc/aviod. also, the amount of coins needed is enormous, i am 3 upgraeds away and i need 2500 coins =.= (max is 18x a day)

Gms will probably be updated to be the same as this, otherwise past leafre and akyrum wouldn’t be able to come out.

  6. August 22, 2011 at 5:18 pm

Oh look, GMS messed things up again…
What will they do when this patch later comes out in GMS?
I have a feeling that they are going to leave the Cross Hunter quest out…
But hopefully they’ll probably make this into the sequel of the Silent Crusade quest.
That way well see Starling again!!! ^o^ *Thumbs up!

You forgot JMS??? JMS is screwed up too unless they will fix that.

      • August 22, 2011 at 10:04 pm

        No, I don’t have JMS…
However, I don’t actually consider that JMS screwed it up since Silent Crusade originated in JMS. KMS and GMS later adapted the idea into Cross Hunter and Silent Crusade.
But it will be fun if GMS or JMS make this the sequel to the Silent Crusade quest.

This doesn’t look that hard to implement into GMS. They could simply move the start for this chain of quests up to 12x and begin from there. For example:

After Sheryl/Crow disappears after the last battle with Bastille, the character your character encounters reappears in the subway (if you’re a boy, then Sheryl, if you’re a girl, then Crow). Then proceed normally, replacing Sheryl with whoever your gender would meet and Crow with the one that you didn’t meet (if you’re a girl, then you would find Sheryl in Crow’s place in this storyline). When Gerekter or “Bastille” reappears, he apologizes or whatever and says he’s still being watched by the rest of the Silent Crusade for the incident before. Then proceed normally again up til the Past Leafre part, where Gerekter/Bastille turns on you again, revealing that he was possessed by Akyrum all along or something. Then proceed normally up until Akyrum.

It would require a few dialogue alterations and monster level adjustments, such as making a second Lord Skeleton at a higher level or something, so it’ll be hard to implement it this way into GMS, but it IS still possible xP

except they wont put this in until Mercedes come out so they can just copy paste this as a silent crusade update because GMS nexon is lazy 😛

        August 22, 2011 at 7:49 pm

Well obviously they will wait until Mercedes to release this, but I was just suggesting a way that GMS can have both the JMS and the KMS versions of the Silent Crusade, while also “continuing” the plot that many of the GMS players liked. They may be lazy, but simply replacing one with the other would cause even bigger problems, so either way, they’ll have something to deal with. Fusing the plots would be the smarter decision though, so as to not waste the suspense of adding it as part of their GMS exclusive content patch with CtF.

If tl;dr, then basically, they can either remove the old plot and replace it with the new one, or add the new one in to fit after the old one. Both ways have their ups and downs though, so I can’t really predict what Nexon America has in store =/

So much for gMS exclusive. -_-

…what? Did KMS just implement Capture the Flag? Because if you were talking about the Silent Crusade, it was never GMS exclusive to begin with >_>
