kMS ver. 1.2.227 – Maple Ice & Burn: Mechanical Grave!
The second patch of the Winter update, Maple Ice & Burn, has been released! This one includes the new level 200+ area, some minigame updates as well as system changes and skill changes.
A new game has been added to Star Planet, called Psychic Yutnori!
In this new mode, you and your opponent get access to 3 special abilities (purple ones affect your roll and orange ones affect the board). They’re all a lot of fun, like one that makes it a 50% chance to get a 1 and 50% chance to get a 5.
You can choose between Classic and Psychic Yutnori by talking to the attendant in the Star Arena.
In Fight! Return of the Legends, you will now be matched with users with similar scores as you. All Avatars’ experience required per level has been adjusted and the Health Regeneration Core skill has been buffed.
In addition, some Avatars have had their skills changed slightly.
- Mike: Shield of War’s cooldown has been decreased, Mace Armor’s damage has been increased
- Manji: Sky Cut’s damage has been decreased
- Grendel: Ice Orb’s damage has been decreased
- Mu Gong: Whirlwind Leg has been changed to allow you to jump
- Dark Lord: Bat Grave’s slow effect duration has been decreased
The login process has been improved! A new ‘previous’ button allows you to return to a previous screen without having to log in again.
Also, when creating a character, you will now immediately log in to that character instead of being returned to the character select screen. The maximum character limit has been increased to 36.
Finally, when logging off, you will be returned to the character selection screen instead of being forced to log in again.
Some Star Force maps have been changed. In all cases, the monster regeneration rate has been increased (this means more monsters and faster).
In El Nath, you can now use the Danger Zone Taxi to go straight to the Dead Mine. In Ludibrium, Twisted Passage and Forgotten Passage have had their terrain changed. In Minar Forest, you can now use the Danger Zone Taxi to go straight to Dragon’s Nest.
Now, after completing Black Heaven, you can play through it again by talking to Moko, who will allow you to reset your progress. When replaying Black Heaven, you will receive the same experience but less Honor.
Skill Changes
Paladin
Divine Charge’s damage was low compared to lower jobs’ Charge skills and we thought this did not make sense. Therefore, its damage has been increased.
Divine Charge: damage has been increased from 405% to 454%, in addition to existing effects Divine Charge now grants the Holy element
Marksman
Since Marksman have high critical chance, the efficiency of Sniping was not as much as it could be due to the damage cap, so we increased it for this skill. The critical chance effect of Distancing Sense was not very useful so it has been changed to defense ignore. In addition, some other skills were changed.
Distancing Sense: critical chance effect has been changed to defense ignore
Net Throwing: slow chance has been increased from 70% to 100%, cooldown of 5 seconds has been added
Dragon Pulse: number of monsters hit has been increased from 6 to 9
Extreme Archery: Crossbow: in addition to existing effects, now adds 15% minimum critical damage
Sniping: damage cap has been increased from 300,000,000 to 400,000,000, range has been increased, skill delay has been decreased
Additional Bolt: Distancing Bolt’s critical chance boost has been changed to a defense ignore boost
Sniping – Limit Canceller: damage cap boost has been increased from 400,000,000 to 500,000,000
Long Range Trueshot: damage cap has been increased to 500,000,000, cooldown has been decreased from 30 seconds to 15 seconds
Bullseye: in addition to existing effects, Bullseye now gives 20% damage
Viper
Vipers are not very viable at bosses due to their need to stay close to them so we made Stance passive.
HP Increase: in addition to existing effects, HP Increase now gives 100% Stance
Ultra Charge: due to HP Increase’s change, this skill’s Stance effect has been removed
Captain
Fusillade’s attack range did not match the animation.
Mercedes
Mercedes has been given a fun hunting pattern in previous skill balancing but the skill damage has been deemed inefficient. Therefore, we added a few more damage boosts, and we also increased the range of Leap Tornado.
Potential Power: in addition to existing effects, Potential Power now gives 20% damage
Spirit Infusion: damage boost has been increased from 15% to 30%
Leap Tornado: attack range has been increased
Ignis Roar: attack per linked attack has been increased from 3 to 4
Ancient Spirit: damage boost has been increased from 30% to 40%
Xenon
Xenon mainly uses Snipe at bosses but as a major skill it was a bit low on damage. Therefore, we increased the number of attacks and reduced the skill delay. Also in earlier levels, to make Blade Dancing more useful, the damage was increased. Finally, after reviving, your Energy Gauge will no longer reset.
Blade Dancing: damage has been increased from 225% to 260%
Purge Lob Masquerade: Snipe: number of hits has been increased from 5 to 6, damage has been decreased from 450% to 400%, skill delay has been decreased
Kaiser
Just as a small change, some skills’ motions have been changed after you use Final Figuration in order to look nicer, and you can now sit or climb ladders and ropes in that form.
Dragon Slash: when using Final Figuration, this skill’s motions will change
Wing Beat: when using Final Figuration, this skill’s motions will change
Giga Slash: when using Final Figuration, this skill’s motions will change
For many classes which have passive skills that are automatically activated while attacking, it might lead to some frustration at some places. Therefore, the following jobs have had some skills changed into On/Off skills.
- Night Lord‘s Mark of Assassin
- EunWol’s Fox Spirit
- Angelic Buster‘s Soul Seeker Expert
- Night Walker‘s Shadow Bats
- Xenon‘s Aegis System
- Archmage (F/P)‘s Ignite
In order to prevent users who use their Soul Weapon skills in order to hunt automatically (botting), we have made some changes including Soul Weapon skills will no longer fill the Soul Weapon gauge and if you use a Soul skill multiple times in one place, it will no longer be able to be used.
New Boss Souls have been added for Pierre, Von Bon, Bloody Queen, Vellum, and Suu.
Pierre, Von Bon and Vellum’s Souls are just special attacks, Bloody Queen’s gives a buff, and Suu’s is a summon-type Soul.
If you’re lucky enough to get a Magnificent Soul, you’ll get a stronger skill. Now, all 5 Souls are summon-types. For Pierre, you’ll summon one of three colours of Pierre and for Vellum, you’ll summon Junior Vellum.
After Gelimer was defeated in the Blockbuster: Black Heaven, the giant airship Black Heaven crashed into the ground above Edelstein. Now, this area, titled Mechanical Grave, is exploreable!
Mechanical Grave is designed for users level 200 and higher. It is accessible through a new cable car in Edelstein Trails 4, or by using the taxi in Edelstein.
- Haven: the home of the Black Wings’ abandoned robots.
- Mechanical Grave: roads leading to the Skyline with rogue robots.
- Skyline: a large tower used to access Black Heaven
- Black Heaven Deck: the exterior of the fallen air ship Black Heaven.
- Black Heaven Interior: the inside of the fallen air ship Black Heaven.
- Core Entrance: the Core of Black Heaven where the boss Suu resides.
Here’s a video of the area, man those things hit hard. I couldn’t even hit the later mobs, they were too high level and I just missed all my attacks haha.
After completing the story quests in Mechanical Grave, you’ll gain access to some daily quests. There are six different kinds of quests which you can do.
In addition, Suu has received a Normal Mode. This mode is similar to the Hard Mode which was released earlier, but is easier to clear. You can see more information about the boss here.
In Mechanical Grave, you’ll be able to collect a new type of item, Energy Cores. Suu drops S-rank Cores and you can get 3 A-rank cores per day by completing 5 daily quests. Some of the daily quests also reward Cores themselves.
You can trade in 50 A-rank Cores or 1 S-rank Core for 1 Absolabs Coin, which you can use to buy Absolabs weapons (8 coins, including the Zero scroll), shoes (3 coins), or capes (3 coins).
Speaking of which, the Absolabs set has received a new design (thanks to Spadow for the image!), and also a new part: the shoulderpad which gives 14 all stats, 10 attack and magic attack with 1 slot.
The item stats have not been changed but the set effects did.
- 2 items: 1500 HP and MP, 20 attack and magic attack
- 3 items: 30 all stats, 25 attack and magic attack
- 4 items: 30 attack and magic attack, 200 defense and magic defense, 10% defense ignore
- 5 items: 20 attack and magic attack, 30% boss damage
- 6 items: 20% HP and MP, 20 attack and magic attack
- 7 items: 20 attack and magic attack, 10% defense ignore
In the Cash Shop, new Fluffy Sheep pets have been added.
The Pandora’s Box has been updated with the new Boss Souls and the level 145 Scarlet weapons.
The Epi’s Box has been updated to feature items related to Black Heaven.
In terms of events, a couple of the previous ones have been extended. I won’t talk about them but you can read about them in my previous post. First of all, the Coin Shop now lasts until February 12.
The Burning Project event has also been extended to February 12. I believe you can now choose another character because this is a new season.

So, wait, wait. 5 quests for 3 A-Rank cores per day? (At least make the coins vary, darn it) Where 1 Coin is worth 50 of those? And the equips need multiple coins? And Normal mode Suu is most DEFINITELY going to be impossible for average people?
*Throws chair out window*
I get these equips are supposed to be pretty darned difficult to get, but this is just obscene. 17 Days for one coin? 51 days for the CHEAPEST equips? Really?
I’m done.
Cores* vary.
And also, wouldn’t 1-3 coins per quest be fair? Ugh.
While I agree with you, the idea is to coerce you into fighting Suu, or grind it out the “easy” way. Give it time, though, because they’ll likely make it reasonable-ish eventually.
Yeah, I suppose that is true. I guess whenever level 170 equips that will completely overshadow those come out. The 3 A cores, 5 quest thing still pisses me off a great deal.
I even bet those quests will be like like:
“Hey, kill 999 of these guys” “Also, collect 500 of this item” “Oh, hey, go get 200 of this rare item.” And then including some unholy mixture of these.
Yeah, now I’m ranting, sorry.
I still say cra is a better set.
Accompanied with Tyrant equips, I’ll have to agree with you.
After actually doing some, I think some of the daily quests also reward A-rank Cores! I did 2 daily quests today and I got 1 A-rank Core, and I see the quest that says if I complete 3 more I can get 3 Cores.
*Sees this only now*
Huh, well, wow. That’s actually a gigantic improvement.
Substantially less miffed about it now, thanks for the update Max.
FINALLY! Tired of people afk attacking with the boss summons…
Nene Chicken, MC YOO
This is some good news, The Auto seekers are fun but I have noticed they can lag other players and while I do mostly fight by myself I do know they can be a pain to other players who hate it when I throw seekers
An on and off will be useful and nice to see Korean Folk town slowly coming back
What does chaos queen soul’s buff give? Thx
Looks like theres 4 different kinds:
– damage absorption
– 1 attack speed
– attack/magic attack
– def/magic def/HP
All with 100 second duration 150 second cooldown
woah atk speed =.=
does she give random buffs everytime we summon her? or we stuck w/ 1 buff when we exchange the 10 shards? Thanks
I’m not actually sure… I think it might be random :s
Lol hankerchief “It is untradeable until it is equipped”?
Fixed.
THATS THE ONLY NIGHTLORD CHANGES? WTF NEXON
when the new job out max ?
No new jobs have been announced yet :p
Max, it actually says ” Fluffy Lamb/Sheep Pets” instead cats xD.
Awkward.
this is fucking great! now we have tons of hackers hacking scroll traces in the special ticket prize event map with those bunnies. I heard they get like 100k traces per hour pr char, which is basically 15 USD per hour per each char, keeping in mind the deflation and tax for selling mesos (or no tax but sell cheap illegally in black (china) market).making millions a year.
yea well, i dont mind usually but those shitty little cygnus chars botting through RA gets annoying sometimes
Whens the orchid/ suu bonny doll coming back?
😦
OMG… i can’t wait for Xenon’s buff, but damn, i’m from MapleSea and i don’t feel like waiting… XD
